  • How to asynchronously read to std::string using Boost::asio?

    - by SpyBot
    Hello. I'm learning Boost::asio and all that async stuff. How can I asynchronously read to variable user_ of type std::string? Boost::asio::buffer(user_) works only with async_write(), but not with async_read(). It works with vector, so what is the reason for it not to work with string? Is there another way to do that besides declaring char user_[max_len] and using Boost::asio::buffer(user_, max_len)? Also, what's the point of inheriting from boost::enable_shared_from_this<Connection> and using shared_from_this() instead of this in async_read() and async_write()? I've seen that a lot in the examples. Here is a part of my code: class Connection { public: Connection(tcp::acceptor &acceptor) : acceptor_(acceptor), socket_(acceptor.get_io_service(), tcp::v4()) { } void start() { acceptor_.get_io_service().post( boost::bind(&Connection::start_accept, this)); } private: void start_accept() { acceptor_.async_accept(socket_, boost::bind(&Connection::handle_accept, this, placeholders::error)); } void handle_accept(const boost::system::error_code& err) { if (err) { disconnect(); } else { async_read(socket_, boost::asio::buffer(user_), boost::bind(&Connection::handle_user_read, this, placeholders::error, placeholders::bytes_transferred)); } } void handle_user_read(const boost::system::error_code& err, std::size_t bytes_transferred) { if ( err or (bytes_transferred != sizeof(user_)) ) { disconnect(); } else { ... } } ... void disconnect() { socket_.shutdown(tcp::socket::shutdown_both); socket_.close(); socket_.open(tcp::v4()); start_accept(); } tcp::acceptor &acceptor_; tcp::socket socket_; std::string user_; std::string pass_; ... };

  • Silverlight 3 + Java WebService

    - by Heko
    Hello! I have a Silverlight 3 project, and I need to call a Java WebService - the bindings are ok (SOAP 1.1 and basicHttpBinding): ClientConfig File: <configuration> <system.serviceModel> <bindings> <basicHttpBinding> <binding name="SkyinfoTestInterfaceExport2_SkyinfoTestInterfaceHttpBinding" maxBufferSize="2147483647" maxReceivedMessageSize="2147483647"> <security mode="None"> <transport> <extendedProtectionPolicy policyEnforcement="Never" /> </transport> </security> </binding> </basicHttpBinding> </bindings> <client> <endpoint address="myAddress" binding="basicHttpBinding" bindingConfiguration="SkyinfoTestInterfaceExport2_SkyinfoTestInterfaceHttpBinding" contract="SkyInfoServiceReference.SkyinfoTestInterface" name="SkyinfoTestInterfaceExport2_SkyinfoTestInterfaceHttpPort" /> </client> </system.serviceModel> When I call a method on client I get this Policy error: An error occurred while trying to make a request to URI '...'. This could be due to attempting to access a service in a cross-domain way without a proper cross-domain policy in place, or a policy that is unsuitable for SOAP services. You may need to contact the owner of the service to publish a cross-domain policy file and to ensure it allows SOAP-related HTTP headers to be sent. This error may also be caused by using internal types in the web service proxy without using the InternalsVisibleToAttribute attribute. Please see the inner exception for more details. I know about those 2 policy XML filesbut Java EE service which I'm trying to call is hosted on a IBM WebSphere Process Server to which I don't have access. Does anybody know how to work around this policy exception?

  • how to close a java frame with threads

    - by user261002
    I have a java frame that I want to close it automatically after 3 or 4 seconds. I found out I must used threads. but I dont know how exactly to do it, this a dumy part of my code : package intro; import java.awt.*; import java.io.IOException; //import view.LangMenu; public class IntroClass extends Frame { private int _screenWidth = 0; private int _screenHeight = 0; private int _screenCenterx = 0; private int _screenCentery = 0; //private static final String SOUND_PATH="/sounds/introSound.midi"; public IntroClass() { Toolkit thisScreen = Toolkit.getDefaultToolkit(); Dimension thisScrrensize = thisScreen.getScreenSize(); _screenWidth = thisScrrensize.width; _screenHeight = thisScrrensize.height; _screenCenterx = _screenWidth / 2; _screenCentery = _screenHeight / 2; setBackground(Color.pink); Label lbl = new Label("Welcome To Dots Game. Samaneh Khaleghi", Label.CENTER); add(lbl); setUndecorated(true); setLocation((_screenCenterx*50)/100,_screenCentery-(_screenCentery*50)/100); setSize((_screenWidth * 50) / 100, (_screenHeight * 50) / 100); WaitClass r = new WaitClass(); r.start(); view.DotsBoardFrame d=new view.DotsBoardFrame(); main.Main.showScreen(d); } class WaitClass extends Thread { boolean running = true; public void run() { while (running) { try { Thread.sleep(50); } catch (InterruptedException ex) { ex.printStackTrace(); } } } } }

  • How can I see which shared folders my program has access to?

    - by Kasper Hansen
    My program needs to read and write to folders on other machines that might be in another domain. So I used the System.Runtime.InteropServices to add shared folders. This worked fine when it was hard coded in the main menu of my windows service. But since then something went wrong and I don't know if it is a coding error or configuration error. What is the scope of a shared folder? If a thread in my program adds a shared folder, can the entire local machine see it? Is there a way to view what shared folders has been added? Or is there a way to see when a folder is added? [DllImport("NetApi32.dll", SetLastError = true, CharSet = CharSet.Unicode)] internal static extern System.UInt32 NetUseAdd(string UncServerName, int Level, ref USE_INFO_2 Buf, out uint ParmError); [StructLayout(LayoutKind.Sequential, CharSet = CharSet.Unicode)] internal struct USE_INFO_2 { internal LPWSTR ui2_local; internal LPWSTR ui2_remote; internal LPWSTR ui2_password; internal DWORD ui2_status; internal DWORD ui2_asg_type; internal DWORD ui2_refcount; internal DWORD ui2_usecount; internal LPWSTR ui2_username; internal LPWSTR ui2_domainname; } private void AddSharedFolder(string name, string domain, string username, string password) { if (name == null || domain == null || username == null || password == null) return; USE_INFO_2 useInfo = new USE_INFO_2(); useInfo.ui2_remote = name; useInfo.ui2_password = password; useInfo.ui2_asg_type = 0; //disk drive useInfo.ui2_usecount = 1; useInfo.ui2_username = username; useInfo.ui2_domainname = domain; uint paramErrorIndex; uint returnCode = NetUseAdd(String.Empty, 2, ref useInfo, out paramErrorIndex); if (returnCode != 0) { throw new Win32Exception((int)returnCode); } }

  • Problem in accessing Windows shared folder on Ubuntu using terminal

    - by vikramtheone
    Hi Guys, Description I have 2 systems with me, one running on Windows(Host) and one on Ubuntu, both on a LAN. On the Windows(Host) I develop software intended for the Linux system and because the Linux system has little external memory, my idea to overcome this is by making the project folder on the Host side a Shared Folder with full access and access it on Ubuntu over the network. To achieve this, I have installed Samba on Ubuntu, when I go to Places -> Network I can see the shared project folder and I simply mount it. A link appears on the desktop. Next, using Nautilus I open the link and I can access the contents of the shared folder. Problem Even though I mount the shared project folder, I don't see it appearing in the /media or the /mnt folder, as a result of this I don't know what path to use to access this folder, from the terminal. For example: When, I mounted my USB stick, as expected, a link for the device appears on the Desktop and I also see a folder in the media folder. So, similarly, a mounted shared folder should have appeared on the /mnt folder, too. Can anyone suggest what I should do now? There are many posts around, but no solid solution for this problem. Help!!! :) Vikram

  • xstream and ibm j9 sdk incompatibilities on linux

    - by Yoni
    I encountered an incompatibility with xstream and IBM J9 jdk (the 32bits version). Everything worked fine when I used sun jdk but fails on IBM jdk (on linux only. on windows it's ok with both jdks). When debugging, the error appears to be that xstream uses a java.util.TreeSet internally but the set's iterator returns elements in the wrong order (I know this sounds very strange, but this is the behavior that I saw). Googling for related bugs didn't give any meaningful results I tried upgrading pretty much any component possible but no luck. I tried the following configurations: ibm jdk 1.6 SR 7 (bundled with WebSphere 7.0.0.9), xstream 1.2.2 ibm jdk 1.6 SR 8, xstream 1.2.2 ibm jdk 1.6 SR 8, xstream 1.3.1 (I tried those both with tomcat and with WebSphere server, so actually there are 6 configurations using IBM jdk). The code in question is in class com.thoughtworks.xstream.core.DefaultConverterLookup, around line 44. It uses an iterator from class com.thoughtworks.xstream.core.util.PrioritizedList, which uses a custom comparator, but all the comparator does is compare integers (the priorities). Has anyone seen this before? Any idea what can I do or change?

  • Culture Sensitive GetHashCode

    - by user114928
    Hi, I'm writing a c# application that will process some text and provide basic query functions. In order to ensure the best possible support for other languages, I am allowing the users of the application to specify the System.Globalization.CultureInfo (via the "en-GB" style code) and also the full range of collation options using the System.Globalization.CompareOptions flags enum. For regular string comparison I'm then using a combination of: a) String.Compare overload that accepts the culture and options b) For some bulk processes I'm caching the byte data (KeyData) from CompareInfo.GetSortKey (overload that accepts the options) and using a byte-by-byte comparison of the KeyData. This seemed fine (although please comment if you think these two methods shouldn't be mixed), but then I had reason to use the HashSet< class which only has an overload for IEqualityComparer<. MS documentation seems to suggest that I should use StringComparer (which implements both IEqualityComparer< and IComparer<), but this only seems to support the "IgnoreCase" option from CompareOptions and not "IgnoreKanaType", "IgnoreSymbols", "IgnoreWidth" etc. I'm assuming that a StringComparer that ignores these other options could produce different hashcodes for two strings that might be considered the same using my other comparison options. I'd therefore get incorrect results from my application. Only thought at the moment is to create my own IEqualityComparer< that generates a hashcode from the SortKey.KeyData and compares eqality be using the String.Compare overload. Any suggestions?

  • Do you use Styrofoam balls to model your systems?

    - by Nick D
    [Objective-C] Do you still use Styrofoam balls to model your systems, where each ball represents a class? Tom Love: We do, actually. We've also done a 3D animation version of it, which we found to be nowhere near as useful as the Styrofoam balls. There's something about a physical, conspicuous structure hanging from the ceiling right in the middle of a development project that's regularly updated to provide not only the structure of the system that you're building, but also the current status of each one of the classes. We've done it on 19 projects the last time I've counted. One of them was 1,856 classes, which is big - actually, probably bigger than it should be. It was a big commercial project, so it needed to be somewhat big. Masterminds of Programming It is the first time I've read or heard about using styrofoam balls to model classes. Is that a commonly used technique? And, how does that sort of modeling help us to design better the system? If you have any photos to share which can show us how the classes are represented it'd be great!

  • playing a dvd using C#

    - by user203212
    Hi, I have a dvd copied in my hard drive. It has a folder called video_ts. I am planning to run VLC player to play it. i was wondering how can I play this dvd using c#. I do not want to use a activex control inside c#. All I need to do is run the vlc.exe using process. I have already done that. But how do I select a specific file from the code that will start playig in the vlc player. My code is. System.Diagnostics.Process Proc = new System.Diagnostics.Process(); Proc.StartInfo.FileName = @"C:\Program Files\VideoLAN\VLC\vlc.exe"; Proc.StartInfo.Arguments = @"C:\Test\Legacy\VIDEO_TS\VIDEO_TS.BUP"; Proc.Start(); I am trying to send the file name as a argument to run it in the vlc.exe . But its not working. Its just opening up the vlc player. I dont want the user to select the file manually.

  • Returning the element number of the longest string in an array

    - by JohnRoberts
    I'm trying to get the longestS method to take the user-inputted array of strings, then return the element number of the longest string in that array. I got it to the point where I was able to return the number of chars in the longest string, but I don't believe that will work for what I need. My problem is that I keep getting incompatible type errors when trying to figure this out. I don't understand the whole data type thing with strings yet. It's confusing me how I go about return a number of the array yet the array is of strings. The main method is fine, I got stuck on the ???? part. { public static void main(String [] args) { Scanner inp = new Scanner( System.in ); String [] responseArr= new String[4]; for (int i=0; i<4; i++) { System.out.println("Enter string "+(i+1)); responseArr[i] = inp.nextLine(); } int highest=longestS(responseArr); } public static int longestS(String[] values) { int largest=0 for( int i = 1; i < values.length; i++ ) { if ( ????? ) } return largest; } }

  • Paramaterising SQL in SSIS

    - by Anonymouslemming
    Hi all, I'm trying to paramaterize some queries in SSIS. After some reading, it sounds like my best option is to create one variable that contains my base sql, another that contains my criteria and a final variable that is evaluated as an expression that includes both of these. I want to end up with an SQL query that is effectively UPDATE mytable set something='bar' where something_else='foo' So my first two variables have the scope of my package and are as follows: Name: BaseSQL Data Type: String Value: UPDATE mytable set something = 'bar' where something_else = Name: MyVariable Data Type: String Value: foo My third variable has a scope of the data flow task where I want to use this SQL and is as follows: Name: SQLQuery Data Type: String Value: @[User::BaseSQL] + "'" + @[User::MyVariable] + "'" EvaluateAsExpression: True In the OLE DB Source, I then choose my connection and 'SQL command from variable' and select User::SQLQuery from the dropdown box. The Variable Value window then displays the following: @[User::BaseSQL] + "'" + @[User::MyVariable] + "'" This is as desired, and would provide the output I want from my DB. The variable name dropdown also contains User::BaseSQL and User::MyVariable so I believe that my namespaces are correct. However, when I then click preview, I get the following error when configuring an OLE DB Source (using SQL command from variable): TITLE: Microsoft Visual Studio Error at Set runtime in DB [Set runtime in myDb DB [1]]: SSIS Error Code DTS_E_OLEDBERROR. An OLE DB error has occurred. Error code: 0x80040E14. An OLE DB record is available. Source: "Microsoft SQL Server Native Client 10.0" Hresult: 0x80040E14 Description: "Statement(s) could not be prepared.". An OLE DB record is available. Source: "Microsoft SQL Server Native Client 10.0" Hresult: 0x80040E14 Description: "Must declare the scalar variable "@".". (Microsoft Visual Studio) Can anyone advise what I'm missing or how I can resolve this please ? Thanks in advance!

  • visusal studio embedded crystal report keeps prompting database login?

    - by phill
    I'm using visual studio 2005 to develop a form with a combobox passing a value into the parameter of an embedded crystal report. I'm trying to figure out why it keeps prompting me for a database login every single time you try to run the report with a different combobox selection. Here is my code: private Sub Form1_load... Dim ConnName As String Dim ServerName As String Dim DBName As String Dim user As String Dim pass As String Dim gDBA As ADODB.Connection Dim records As ADODB.Recordset Dim datver As ADODB.Recordset Dim query As String '---OPEN THE DATABASE CONNECTIONS gDBA = New ADODB.Connection ': gDBA.CursorLocation = adUseServer 'Added to prevent time out error gDBA.CommandTimeout = 1000 : gDBA.ConnectionTimeout = 1000 gDBA.ConnectionString = "Server=svr13;Database=subscribers;User ID=KViews;Password=Solution;Trusted_Connection=True;" gDBA.Open("Data Source=Kaseya;Initial Catalog=subscribers;User Id=KViews;Password=Solution;", "KViews", "Solution") records = New ADODB.Recordset query = "select distinct groupname from _v_k order by groupname desc" 'records.ActiveConnection = gDBA.ConnectionString records.CursorType = CursorTypeEnum.adOpenForwardOnly records.LockType = LockTypeEnum.adLockReadOnly records.Open(query, gDBA) Do While Not records.EOF ComboBox1.Items.Add(records.Fields("groupname").Value) records.MoveNext() Loop end Sub Private Sub Button1_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button1.Click Dim selected As String selected = ComboBox1.Text Dim cryRpt As New ReportDocument cryRpt.Load("C:\Visual Studio 2005\Projects\WindowsApplication1\WindowsApplication1\CrystalReport1.rpt") cryRpt.SetDatabaseLogon("KViews", "Solutions", "svr13", "subscribers") cryRpt.SetParameterValue("companyname", selected) CrystalReportViewer1.ReportSource = cryRpt CrystalReportViewer1.Refresh() End Sub I looked at this previous posting http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1132314/database-login-prompt-with-crystal-reports but this wasn't very helpful. I couldn't find where a CMC was to disable the prompt. Any ideas? thanks in advance

  • how to read in a list of custom configuration objects

    - by Johnny
    hi, I want to implement Craig Andera's custom XML configuration handler in a slightly different scenario. What I want to be able to do is to read in a list of arbitrary length of custom objects defined as: public class TextFileInfo { public string Name { get; set; } public string TextFilePath { get; set; } public string XmlFilePath { get; set; } } I managed to replicate Craig's solution for one custom object but what if I want several? Craig's deserialization code is: public class XmlSerializerSectionHandler : IConfigurationSectionHandler { public object Create(object parent, object configContext, XmlNode section) { XPathNavigator nav = section.CreateNavigator(); string typename = (string)nav.Evaluate("string(@type)"); Type t = Type.GetType(typename); XmlSerializer ser = new XmlSerializer(t); return ser.Deserialize(new XmlNodeReader(section)); } } I think I could do this if I could get Type t = Type.GetType("System.Collections.Generic.List<TextFileInfo>") to work but it throws Could not load type 'System.Collections.Generic.List<Test1.TextFileInfo>' from assembly 'Test1, Version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null'.

If add the TimeModule then the label doesn't show the message "Login Successful". Removing the ajax panel and with httpmodule available the label shows the message. So, how ajax panel was related to httpmodules?

  • ASP.NET Response Filter to Reformat the rendered output of ASPX pages?

    - by PropellerHead
    I've created a simple HttpModule and response stream to reformat the rendered output of web pages (see code snippets below). In the HttpModule I set the Response.Filter to my PageStream: m_Application.Context.Response.Filter = new PageStream(m_Application.Context); In the PageStream I overwrite the Write method in order to do my reformatting of the rendered output: public override void Write(byte[] buffer, int offset, int count) { string html = System.Text.Encoding.UTF8.GetString(buffer); //Do some string resplace operations here... byte[] input = System.Text.Encoding.UTF8.GetBytes(html); m_DefaultStream.Write(input, 0, input.Length); } And this work fine when using it on simple HTML pages (.html), but when I use this method on ASPX pages (.aspx), the Write method is called several times, splitting up the reformatting into different steps, and potentially destroying the string replacement operations. How do I solve this? Is there a way to let the ASPX page NOT call Write several times, e.g. by changing its buffer size, or have I chosen the wrong approach entirely, by using this Response.Filter method to manipulate the rendered output?

  • % style macros not supported in some C++/CLI project property pages under VS2010?

    - by Dave Foster
    We're currently evaluating VS2010 and have upgraded our VS2008 C++/CLI project to the new .vcxproj format. I've noticed that a certain property we had set in the project settings did not get translated properly. Under Configuration Properties - Managed Resources - Resource Logical Name, we used to have (in VS2008) the setting: $(IntDir)\$(RootNamespace).$(InputName).resources which indicated that all .resx files were to compile into OurLib.SomeForm.resources inside of the assembly. (the Debug portion is dropped when assembled) According to MSDN, the $(InputName) macro no longer exists and should be replaced with %(Filename). However, when translating the above line to swap those macros, it does not seem to ever expand. The second .resx file it tries to compile, I get a "LINK : fatal error LNK1316: duplicate managed resource name 'Debug\OurLib.%(Filename).resources". This indicates to me that the % style macros are not being expanded here, at least in this specific property. If we don't set anything in that property, the default behavior seems to be to add the subdirectory as a prefix, such as: OurLib.Forms.SomeForm.resources where Forms is the subdir of our project that the .resx file lives. This only occurs when the .resx file is in an immediate subdirectory of the project being built. If a .resx file exists somewhere else on disk (aka ..\OtherLib\Forms\SomeForm2.resx) this prefix is NOT added. This is causing an issue with loading form resources, as it does not account for this possible prefix, even though we are using the standard Forms Designer method of getting at resources: System::ComponentModel::ComponentResourceManager^ resources = (gcnew System::ComponentModel::ComponentResourceManager(SomeForm::typeid)); and do not specify the .resources file by name. The issue I've just described may not be the same as the original question, but if I were to fix the Resource Logical Name issue I think this would all go away. Does anyone have any information about these % macros and where they are allowed to be used?

  • Why isn't componentHidden called for my JPopupMenu?

    - by heycam
    I want to be notified when my JPopupMenu is hidden — whether because an item was selected, the menu was dismissed, or setVisible(false) was called on it. Here is my test code: import javax.swing.*; import java.awt.*; import java.awt.event.*; public class A extends ComponentAdapter implements Runnable, ActionListener { private JButton b; public static void main(String[] args) { EventQueue.invokeLater(new A()); } public void run() { JFrame f = new JFrame("Test"); b = new JButton("Click me"); b.addActionListener(this); f.add(b); f.pack(); f.setVisible(true); } public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent e) { JPopupMenu pm = new JPopupMenu(); pm.addComponentListener(this); pm.add("Popup..."); pm.add("...menu!"); pm.show(b, 10, 10); } public void componentShown(ComponentEvent e) { System.out.println("componentShown"); } public void componentHidden(ComponentEvent e) { System.out.println("componentHidden"); } } Regardless of how I interact with the menu, neither of the two ComponentListener methods are being called. Why is that? Is there different/better/correct way of finding out when my JPopupMenu is hidden? Thanks, Cameron

  • JMF microphone volume controller

    How to obtain the Microphone volume controller in JMF? this is what I have: I tried this implementation concept of yours, but I keep getting a null from the first volume processor when I try to get the stream, here is how I do it: // the device is the media device specifically audio Processor processorForVolume = Manager.createProcessor(device.getLocator()); // wait until configured ProcessorStates newState = new ProcessorStateListener(Processor.Configured).waitForProcessorState(processorForVolume); System.out.println("volumeProcessorState: "+newState); // setting the content descriptor to null - read in another thread this allows to get the gain control processorForVolume.setContentDescriptor(null); // set the track control format to one supported by the device and the track control. // I didn't match it to an RTP allowed format, but I don't think this has anything to do with it... TrackControl[] trackControls = processorForVolume.getTrackControls(); if (trackControls.length == 0) throw new MC_Exception("No track controls where found for this device:", new Object[]{device}); for (TrackControl control : trackControls) trackManipulator.manipulateTrackControls(control); // wait until the processor is realized newState = new ProcessorStateListener(Controller.Realized).waitForProcessorState(processorForVolume); System.out.println("volumeProcessorState: "+newState); // receives the gain control micVolumeController = processorForVolume.getGainControl(); // cannot get the output stream to process further... any suggestions? processor = Manager.createProcessor(processorForVolume.getDataOutput()); new ProcessorStateListener(Processor.Configured).waitForProcessorState(processor); processor.setContentDescriptor(DeviceCapturingManager.RAW_RTP); new ProcessorStateListener(Controller.Realized).waitForProcessorState(processor); this is the output It generates: volumeProcessorState: Configured format set to track control - com.sun.media.ProcessEngine$ProcTControl@1627c16: LINEAR, 48000.0 Hz, 16-bit, Stereo, LittleEndian, Signed volumeProcessorState: Realized and the data output from the processor is Null. I should make clear that when the content descriptor != null I do get an output stream but not the volume controller, and the when it is null I get the controller, but no stream. I try to connect to an audio microphone device Adam.

  • Minimal deployment of couchdb on windows

    - by MartinStettner
    Hi, I'd like to use couchdb for a client-only application on Windows (the document-oriented structure and the synchronization features would be perfect for me). There is a Windows installer package here, but the installer itself has about 45 MB, when installed it takes more than 100 MB on my HD. This is far to much for my (relatively small) application. I noticed that there are a lot of "src" directories in the couchdb/lib subdirs. I've been experimenting with removing some of them and it didn't seem to break the system. Now I'm wondering what would be the "minimal" set of files (preferably binary-only) that would be needed in order to run a local couchdb server. Are there already any efforts to create such a deployment-friendly installer? Or could anyone give some (even very general) hints how to create it? How much disk space would be minimally required for such an installation? Needless to say that I'm not at all familiar with neither the couchdb internals nor the Erlang system :). But perhaps I could figure out if I got some direction (or I could stop trying if someone told me that this would be impossible or didn't make sense at all ...) Thanks anyway!

  • How to Serialize to XML containing attributes in .NET?

    - by user292815
    I have that code: ... request data = new request(); data.username = formNick; xml = data.Serialize(); ... [System.Serializable] public class request { public string username; public string password; static XmlSerializer serializer = new XmlSerializer(typeof(request)); public string Serialize() { StringBuilder builder = new StringBuilder(); XmlWriterSettings settings = new XmlWriterSettings(); settings.OmitXmlDeclaration = true; settings.Encoding = Encoding.UTF8; serializer.Serialize( System.Xml.XmlWriter.Create(builder, settings ), this); return builder.ToString(); } public static request Deserialize(string serializedData) { return serializer.Deserialize(new StringReader(serializedData)) as request; } } I want to add attributes to some nodes and create some sub-nodes. Also how to parse xml like that: <answer> <player id="2"> <coordinate axis="x"></coordinate> <coordinate axis="y"></coordinate> <coordinate axis="z"></coordinate> <action name="nothing"></action> </player> <player id="3"> <coordinate axis="x"></coordinate> <coordinate axis="y"></coordinate> <coordinate axis="z"></coordinate> <action name="boom"> <1>1</1> <2>2</2> </action> </player> </answer> p.s. it is not a xml file, it's answer from http server.

  • Why doesn't my test run tearDownAfterTestClass when it fails

    - by Memor-X
    in a test i am writing the setUpBeforeTests creates a new customer in the database who is then used to perform the tests with so naturally when i finish the test i should get rid of this test customer in tearDownAfterTestClass so that i can create then anew when i rerun the test and not get any false positives how when the tests all run fine i have no problem but if a test fails and i go to rerun it my setUpBeforeTests fails because i check for mysql errors in it like this try { if(!mysqli_query($connection,$query)) { $this->assertTrue(false); } } catch (Exception $exc) { $msg = '[tearDownAfterTestClass] Exception Error' . PHP_EOL . PHP_EOL; $msg .= 'Could not run query - '.mysqli_error($connection). PHP_EOL;; $this->fail($msg); } the error i get is that there is a primary key violation which is expected cause i'm trying to create a new customer using the same data (primary key is on email which is also used to log in) however that means when the test failed it didn't run tearDownAfterTestClass now i could just move everything in tearDownAfterTestClass to the start of setUpBeforeTests however to me that seems like bad programming since it defeates the purpose of even have tearDownAfterTestClass so i am wondering, why isn't my tearDownAfterTestClass running when a test fails NOTE: the database is a fundamental part of the system i'm testing and the database and system are on a separate development environment not the live one, the backup files for the database are almost 2 GBs and takes almost 1/2 an hour to restore, the purpose of the tear down is to remove any data we have added because of the test so that we don't have to restore the database every time we run the tests

  • implementing gravity to projectile - delta time issue

    - by Murat Nafiz
    I'm trying to implement a simple projectile motion in Android (with openGL). And I want to add gravity to my world to simulate a ball's dropping realistically. I simply update my renderer with a delta time which is calculated by: float deltaTime = (System.nanoTime()-startTime) / 1000000000.0f; startTime = System.nanoTime(); screen.update(deltaTime); In my screen.update(deltaTime) method: if (isballMoving) { golfBall.updateLocationAndVelocity(deltaTime); } And in golfBall.updateLocationAndVelocity(deltaTime) method: public final static double G = -9.81; double vz0 = getVZ0(); // Gets initial velocity(z) double z0 = getZ0(); // Gets initial height double time = getS(); // gets total time from act begin double vz = vz0 + G * deltaTime; // calculate new velocity(z) double z = z0 - vz0 * deltaTime- 0.5 * G * deltaTime* deltaTime; // calculate new position time = time + deltaTime; // Update time setS(time); //set new total time Now here is the problem; If I set deltaTime as 0.07 statically, then the animation runs normally. But since the update() method runs as faster as it can, the length and therefore the speed of the ball varies from device to device. If I don't touch deltaTime and run the program (deltaTime's are between 0.01 - 0.02 with my test devices) animation length and the speed of ball are same at different devices. But the animation is so SLOW! What am I doing wrong?

  • How can I visualise a "broken" hierarchical dataset?

    I have a reasonably large datatable structured something like this: StaffNo Grade Direct Boss2 Boss3 Boss4 Boss5 Boss6 ------- ----- ----- ----- ----- ----- ----- ----- 10001 1 10002 10002 10057 10094 10043 10099 10002 2 10057 NULL 10057 10094 10043 10099 10003 1 10004 10004 10057 10094 10043 10099 10004 2 10057 NULL 10057 10094 10043 10099 10057 3 10094 NULL NULL 10094 10043 10099 etc.... i.e. a unique id , their level (grade) in the hierarchy, a record of their bosses ID and the IDs of the supervisors above. (The 2,3,4, etc refers to the boss at that particular grade). The system relies on a strict hierarchy - if you are my boss (/parent) then your boss must be my grandparent. Unfortunately this rule is not enforced within the data model and the data ultimately comes from other systems which don't even know about the rule, let alone observe it. So you and I may share the same boss, but our bosses boss won't be the same. note: I cannot change the data model I cannot fix the data at source. So (for the moment) I have to fix the data once it's in place. Once a fortnight someone will do something which breaks the model and I'll need to modify the procs slightly to resolve. Not ideal, but I'm stuck with this for the next six months. Anyway, specific queries are easy to produce but I find it hard to keep track of the bigger picutre. The application which sits on this runs without complaint regardless but navigating around the system becoming extraordinarily confusing. So my question is: Can anyone recommend a tool (or technique) for generating some kind of "broken tree" diagram in this sort of circumstances? I don't want something that will fix things for me, or attempt statistical analysis but at least something that will give a visual indication of how broken it is at any one time. Note : At the moment this is in a SQL Server database but I'm open to ideas utilising C#, Perl or Python.
