  • Automated regression tests for java applets?

    We're working on a project with a number of applets that has to work across a large range of OS (WIndows, Mac, Linux), browsers (IE, FF, Safari, etc) and Java versions (1.5+), and it often happens that a fix we apply will cause some sort of security exception an another platform or some other error. Is there any way for us to prepare automated tests to immediately catch those problems in different platforms? I think it's not necessary to check that the gui parts are appearing as intended, but just to detect whether unexpected exceptions are occuring.

    Hello, Is it possible to use the Open XML sdk to manipulate parts of document which is currently open in the ofice app (word/ppt). I know the easiest thing is to use VSTO, but its slow and would involve clipboard use to insert elements, the OXML sdk is direct and simpler.     Hey, I’m parsing a twitter rss feed, and I just need to show tweets, so I don't need MGTwitterEngine. I have already set it up so I can see the complete tweet, the only thing I want it to colorize hashtags and urls. So I would need to slice up the string in different substrings, colorize the hashtags and urls and glue it together in various UILabels Is there an easier way to accomplish this? In short I need some parts of a string colored differently than others.

    I'm deciding how to split 3 large sphinx indexes between 3 servers. Each of the 3 indexes is searched separately. What's more effective: to host each index on separate machine Example machine1 - index1 machine2 - index2 machine3 - index3 or to split each index into 3 parts and host each part of the same index on separate machine.     I'd like to have a macro in Visual Studio 2005 that calls a DOS command and redirects the output (stdout and stderr) to a file. Just calling the command and "" redirecting it will not capture stderr, so there are two parts to this: calling a DOS command capturing both stderr and stdout to a file during that call I'd then like to open this file in Visual Studio after the command completes. I'm new to Visual Studio 2005 macro writing, and VB/VBA, so that's the kind of help that I'm looking for. Thanks, Mark

    i have urls like http://mysite.com/index.php?p=resources http://mysite.com/index.php?p=resources&s=view&id=938 but i want urls like http://mysite.com/resources http://mysite.com/resources/view/938 instead of making hundreds of rewrite rules i wonder if it would be possible to just have one? Ive head this is possible by "getting the uri and splitting it into parts" and then just add a rewrite rule for index.php but how? could someone give an example or link a tutorial
