  • PHP front-end and Java back-end for a web app?

    I'm designing a web application. I was wondering if it was feasible to design a php front end (using some php framework e.g. CakePHP), which stores and retrieves data to display to the user. Then develop a java backend which listens to the database for changes, and depending on what was changed, performs some actions and updates the database. Any thoughts on this type of implementation would be appreciated.

Then I want to take these classes and for each of them instantiate a bean of same type, using the class as a property. Then I want to gather all these anonymous beans and put them into collection.     i have a web application that export CSV and i logged in as admin but what happened during the exportation the IE opens a new tab and export the CSV but what happens next when you click any of the link on the web app you will automatically logout! This only happen on IE. here is the header i used: header("Content-type:application/vnd.ms-excel"); header("Content-disposition:attachment;filename=".$this->filename); I am using cakephp 1.3.x.x TIA :D

    If I have a class that contains a std::list<Foo>, how can I implement iterators to a Foo* collection, preferably without using boost? I'd rather not maintain a parallel collection of pointers. For now I have std::list<Foo>, mostly so that removing or inserting an element does not invalidate all other iterators, but would it be possible to implement other iterators too, so that the collection type used in the implementation is opaque to the user of the class?

I have a ROXML object that looks like: class Activity include ROXML xml_accessor :id end If I have an array of these objects and call .to_xml on the array, I receive an empty xml collection: "<?xml version=\"1.0\" encoding=\"UTF-8\"?>\n<activities type=\"array\">\n</activities>\n" Any idea why or how to fix this? I'm running Rails 2.3.5 with the newest version of ROXML. Thanks
