I'm still trying to determine an answer to my question from a few minutes ago, "Should client-server code be written in one 'project' or two?" and I think it would benefit me to see how other projects organize their code (and hopefully deduce the pros and cons of why they chose to do it that way).
What are some open source client-server projects which might be best to look at and mimic their code organization style?
Java is preferred but not required.
how would i put the contents of a webpage into a string?
it would be the same thing as hitting ctrl+A and copying and pasting it.
is there a way to do this programmatically without 'sendkeys' ?
i do not want to look at the html source at all, i just want to copy the text on the site
hi, can any body help me on separating this example of data that i need to parse and seperate text just like PHPDoc. It is PHP source code.
The example string :
function one_to_tree() {
//bla bla bla
return FALSE;
}
function two_to_tree() {
//bla bla bla
return FALSE;
}
function three_to_tree() {
if ($sample){ //bla bla bla }
return FALSE;
}
can anybody help me how to seperate above string based on "function" word and create and array. Thank you
im building a forum and now im gonna code the thread page.
is there any open source thread script to use that resembles stackoverflow:s thread page with the actual thread, the replies and the comments? one which you could customize?
i bet a lot of users have created such scripts, would be great to not having to reinvent the wheel.
or is it a lot easier to code it yourself?
Hi,
I have a asp.net web application and I'm using cache (HttpRuntime.Cache) to save some stuff from db.
I also update db from time to time so that data in db does not match the data in my application's cache.
Is there any way how to clear my application's cache without modifying any source code or republishing the page?
I tried to restart IIS and to clear browsers cache but nothing helps.
Please help.
Writing an app that will include the ability to decompress zip and rar files. I think I'm OK on how to handle the .zips but .rars seem a little more trouble. I noticed that rarlabs has source available but it's C++. Is there a way to compile, wrap or otherwise use this code within an iPhone app?
Reference: http://www.rarlab.com/rar_add.htm
Open to alternate suggestions on how to handle .rar files as well.
I'm still pretty much a newbie so please explain in small words :)
I am trying to run the CMIS client example on:
http://incubator.apache.org/chemistry/opencmis-api-examples.html
Unfortunately I can't find the "SessionParameter" class that the example uses.
It is nowhere to be found in the whole project's source code:
http://github.com/apache/chemistry
What did I miss?
Or maybe the example is out-of-date?
I have a Telerik RadDatePicker, which I am binding to the SelectedDate property. I want this control to show a validation error when the default date set in the control is removed/deleted. I was able to achieve this, but the problem was that the validation error occurs only when Enter is pressed or when we click outside the control.
Is there a way tell RadDatePicker to update the source without moving the focus? (Tried UpdateSourceTrigger=PropertyChanged, but still it wasnt working)
I have been using Dreamweaver for my web development and would like to try out eclipse. I would like to keep the source files where they are now. What do I need to set for my workspace and then how do I set it to look at my existing files?
I need to move all the hard coded strings in my source code in .resx files. There is a tool that could help me find all the hardcoded strings within C# code?
Are there any servers written that can be setup to take video transcode jobs? I am looking to set one up to work just like the service Zencoder. Something that I could send my transcoding jobs to maybe via web-services. If not are there any c# wrappers to the common open source transcoders such that I could write one.
Hi,
I am new to linux and writing a service in C++ which spawns multiple threads and I am starting the service by calling it from init.d, but how should I send the terminate signal to my application from the script , so that my service terminates all the threads and exits.
And also where can I find the source code for any linux services. e.g. /etc.init.d/rc5.d/S14cron . It will be helpful in understanding how to implement a service.
Hi,
Are there any open source implementations of the Ribbon interface available? I need to use them in a GPL licensed software, so the library should be compatible with GPL. The software is in VC++ 2005.
I have few images and their rollover images. I want to show/hide the rollover image when onmousemove/onmouseout event using JQuery. All my images name follow the same pattern, like this:
Original Image: Image.gif
Rollover Image: Imageover.gif
I want to insert and remove the "over" portion of image source in onmouseover and onmouseout event respectively.
How can I do it using JQuery?
hi,
I'm student working on optimizing GCC for multi-core processor. I tried going through the source code, it is difficult to follow through it since I need to add some code to the back end. Can anyone suggest some good resource which explains the code flow through the different phases.
Also suggest some development environment for debugging GCC mainly to step through the code. Is it possible on windows?
GPL, MS-PL, LGPL, MIT, Creative Commons, etc.
There are a lot of licenses to your software and sources. I would like to know about that licenses (and another important ones), but on simple statements, like "free for non commercial use" or "source is free for modify but maintain the credits", etc.
Hi,
I wonder if there is a good way to find the source code that causes a heap corruption error, given the memory address of the of the data that was written 'outside' the allocated heap block in Visual Studio;
Dedicated (0008) free list element 26F7F670 is wrong size (dead)
(Trying to write down some notes on how to find memory errors)
Thanks in advance!
Sometimes i would like to know how a cool software is made or the brilliant architecture behind an hot web service; but the software is not open-source and the web service have no public documentation.
Do you have any techniques to discover some hints on how a software is made?
Is it possible to do it?
Do you know some site that publish architectures\technologies used by softwares\web service?
I am looking for a library which I can plug into a distributed application which implements any gossip-based membership protocol.
Such a library would allow me to send/receive membership lists, merge received membership lists, etc... Even better would be if the library implemented a protocol with performance O(logn) performance guarantees.
Does anyone know of any open source library like this? It doesn't need to meet all of the aforementioned requirements; even something partially implemented would be helpful.

I've been getting an error recently while debugging an ASP.NET application in Visual Studio 2008:
'Error connecting to undo manager of source file XYZ'
Any idea how I can get rid of the error?
I have a C project in Eclipse that stores its files in two directories at the same level along with a bunch of other stuff that I do not need to have in the project.
/path/
/code_I_want
/bad_stuff/
/more_code_i_want/
/huge_pile_of_other_code/
Edit: The source directory is a Clearcase VOB mount point so I can't control what ends up there.
