  • WPF Editable Combobox IsFocused problem

    - by Rey
I am developing a Watermarked Combobox by modifying Combobox Control template. everything is fine when combo box is not in editable mode. but when i change edit mode to True, isFocused property never set to True. this is because in edit mode, combo box is using a Text Box. This is exact copy of this StackOverflow question: . there are no responces to that question. please drop a line if you know how to solve this. or please point me to links that provide Watermark Combobox implementation. Thanks, Rey.

  • Is WPF Decorator class useful?

    - by darja
I need to create control to draw border around its child. So, I have created class and derived it from Decorator: class RoundedBoxDecorator : Decorator { protected override Size ArrangeOverride(Size arrangeSize) { //some source } protected override void OnRender(DrawingContext dc) { //some source } } It works fine, but I have some doubts about using Decorator as ancestor. I have found in MSDN that there are no special methods or properties in it, only derived from its ancestors (UIElement or FrameworkElement). ArrangeOverride and OnRender are also derived. So, what for Decorator class was designed and does it makes sense to use it? Or I can derive from FrameworkElement?

  • wpf manually generate TreeViewItem container

    - by viky
I am creating a TreeView at runtime. It has several nodes(TreeViewItem), each one having a name. Initially it is collapsed. A separate comboBox displays Names of all TreeViewItem. I have to highlight a TreeViewItem based on the Name selected. I am using a recursive function and gets the TreeViewItem container like this: if (parent.ItemContainerGenerator.Status != GeneratorStatus.ContainersGenerated) continue; TreeViewItem container = parent.ItemContainerGenerator.ContainerFromItem(child).As<TreeViewItem>(); but it is parent.ItemContainerGenerator.Status = GeneratorStatus.NotStarted for all the collapsed items. How can I generate containers for them manually(Without expanding them)?

  • Adding a BitmapEffect to a BitmapImage in WPF

    - by Richard
I have a png image of the earth which I'm trying to add an OuterGlowBitmapEffect to. I've done something similar with a simple Elipse, but BitmapImage doesn't seem to allow a BitmapEffect to be applied to it. The following XAML isn't valid, but is there a valid way of doing this? <BitmapImage UriSource="/Media/earth.png"> <BitmapImage.BitmapEffect> <OuterGlowBitmapEffect GlowColor="Cyan" GlowSize="10" /> </BitmapImage.BitmapEffect> </BitmapImage> The png in question is the top half of the earth and has a transparent background. Thanks for your help.

  • WPF ComboBox SelectedItem - change to previous value

    - by Taylor
Hello, I have a ComboBox that has the SelectedItem bound to the ViewModel. <ComboBox SelectedItem="{Binding SelItem, Mode=TwoWay}" ItemsSource="{Binding MyItems}"> When the user selects a new Item in the View ComboBox, I want to display a prompt and verify that they want to make the change. In the SetItem Property setter in the View Model, I display a Dialog to confirm the selection. When they say yes, it works fine. My problem is, when the user clicks on "No" I am not sure who to get the ComboBox to revert back to the previous value. The Property in the ViewModel has the correct older value, however in the View the ComboBox displays the newly Selected Value. I want the user to select an item, confirm they want to go ahead with it, and if they decide not to, I want the ComboBox to revert back to the previous item. How can I accomplish this? Thanks!

  • In WPF, accessing containers within ListBox

    - by Jim
I'm creating a DerivedListBox : ListBox and a DerivedHeaderedContentControl : HeaderedContentControl, which will serve as a container for each item in the ListBox. In order to calculate the size available for the expanded content of the DerivedHeaderedContentControls, I am storing each container object in a list within the DerivedListBox. This way I can calculate the height of the headers of each DerivedHeaderedContentControl and subtract that from the total size available to the DerivedListBox. This would be the size available for the expanded content of a DerivedHeaderedContentControl. public class DerivedHeaderedContentControl : HeaderedContentControl { // Do some binding to DerivedListBox to calculate height. } public class DerivedListBox : ListBox { private List<DerivedHeaderedContentControl> containers; protected override DependencyObject GetContainerForItemOverride() { DerivedHeaderedContentControl val = new DerivedHeaderedContentControl(); this.containers.Add(val); return val; } // Do some binding to calculate height available for an expanded // container by iterating over containers. } The problem comes in when the DerivedListBox's ItemsSource is cleared (or an item in the items source is removed). How can I determine when the ItemsSource is cleared so that I can clear the containers list?

  • Lazy Loading wpf Combobox items

    - by Chris McGrath
I have an IEnumerable< which lazy loads it's data. I want to just set a Combobox's ItemsSource to the IEnumerable, but when I do it goes and loads all the data anyway (which removes the point of lazy loading). I've tried it with Linq-To-Sql as well since it seems to be a similar theory and it also loads all the data. Is there an easy way to do this?

  • WPF datagrid bind to previous row's cell

    - by James Price
Hi, I have a datagrid and one of the columns is going to be a checkbox column. To give the background, the checkbox is going to turn something on / off and each row in the datagrid is going to be for a differernt time (in time order, ascending). Is it possible for one row's checkbox to be bound to the state of the previous row? That way if somebody turns off at 10am it will continue to be turned off until such a time that it is turned on again. Hope that makes sense, any help would be great. Sure this sounds like something that should be do-able with databindings just not sure on the way to do it! Thanks.

    Hello, say I have this control: public partial class bloc999 : UserControl { bloc999Data mainBlock = new bloc999Data(); public bloc999() { InitializeComponent(); mainBlock.txtContents = "100"; base.DataContext = mainBlock; } } in the xaml: <TextBox Margin="74,116,106,0" Name="txtContents" Text="{Binding Path=txtContents, UpdateSourceTrigger=PropertyChanged,Mode = TwoWay}" /> <TextBox Margin="74,145,106,132" Name="txtContents2" Text="{Binding Path=txtContents2, UpdateSourceTrigger=PropertyChanged,Mode = TwoWay}" /> Then I have this class: public class bloc999Data : INotifyPropertyChanged { string _txtContents; string _txtContents2; public event PropertyChangedEventHandler PropertyChanged; void NotifyPropertyChanged(string propName) { if (this.PropertyChanged != null) this.PropertyChanged( this, new PropertyChangedEventArgs(propName)); } public string txtContents2 { get { return this._txtContents2; } set { if (int.Parse(value) > int.Parse(this._txtContents)) { this._txtContents2 = "000"; } else this._txtContents2 = value; NotifyPropertyChanged("txtContents2"); } } public string txtContents { get { return this._txtContents; } set { this._txtContents = value; NotifyPropertyChanged("txtContents"); } } } Ok now say I have A button on the form and I do this in the code: mainBlock.txtContents2 = "7777777"; It puts 000 in the textbox, but If i just type in manually, in the textbox (txtContents2, the setter code is called but for some reason the textboxes value does not change, the instance value does change. help?

  • how to flip Image in wpf

    - by shashank
Hello! I recently learned how to rotate a BitmapImage using the 'TransformedBitmap' and 'RotateTransformed' classes. Now I am able to perform clockwise rotations on my images. But how do I FLIP an image? I can't find the class(es) to perform horizontal and vertical flips of a BitmapImage. Please help me figure out how to do it. For instance, if my image was a drawing that looked like a 'd', then a vertical flip would result in something like a 'q', and a horizontal flip would result in something lika a 'b'. I hope this is clear enough. Thanks in advance! Best regards, shashank

  • WPF, getting two way binding to work on custom control

    - by e28Makaveli
Two way binding does not work on my custom control with the following internals: public partial class ColorInputControl { public ColorInputControl() { InitializeComponent(); colorPicker.AddHandler(ColorPicker.SelectedColorChangedEvent, new RoutedPropertyChangedEventHandler( SelectedColorChanged));; colorPicker.AddHandler(ColorPicker.CancelEvent, new RoutedPropertyChangedEventHandler(OnCancel)); } public static readonly DependencyProperty SelectedColorProperty = DependencyProperty.Register ("SelectedColor", typeof(Color), typeof(ColorInputControl), new PropertyMetadata(Colors.Transparent, null)); public Color SelectedColor { get { return (Color)GetValue(SelectedColorProperty); //return colorPicker.SelectedColor; } set { SetValue(SelectedColorProperty, value); colorPicker.SelectedColor = value; } } private void SelectedColorChanged(object sender, RoutedPropertyChangedEventArgs<Color> e) { SetValue(SelectedColorProperty, colorPicker.SelectedColor); } } SelectedColor is being bound to a property that fires INotifyPropertyChanged event control when it changes. However, I cannot get two way binding to work. Changes from the UI are pesisted to the data source. However, changes originating from the data source are not reflected on the UI. What did I miss? TIA.

  • Serializing WPF RichTextBox to XAML vs RTF

    - by chaiguy
I have a RichTextBox and need to serialize its content to my database purely for storage purposes. It would appear that I have a choice between serializing as XAML or as RTF, and am wondering if there are any advantages to serializing to XAML over RTF, which I would consider as more "standard". In particular, am I losing any capability by serializing to RTF instead of XAML? I understand XAML supports custom classes inside the FlowDocument, but I'm not currently using any custom classes (though the potential for extensibility might be enough reason to use XAML).

  • wpf: design time error while writing Nested type in xaml

    - by viky
I have created a usercontrol which accept type of enum and assign the values of that enum to a ComboBox control in that usercontrol. Very Simple. I am using this user control in DataTemplates. Problem comes when there comes nested type. I assign that using this notation EnumType="{x:Type myNamespace:ParentType + NestedType}" It works fine at runtime. but at design time it throws error saying Could not create an instance of type 'TypeExtension' Why? Due to this I am not able to see my window at design time. Any help?

  • WPF WriteableBitmap

I'm using WriteableBitmap on an image of type Bgra32 to change the pixel value of certain pixels. I'm setting the value to 0x77CCCCCC. After calling WritePixels, the pixels I set to 0x77CCCCCC show up with a value of 0x77FFFFFF. Why does this happen? How do I make the pixels have the correct value?
