i cant for the life of me figure out how to change the date from default mm/dd/yyyy to the european dd/mm/yyyy
the manual states to use:
$.datepicker.formatDate('yy-mm-dd', new Date(2007, 1 - 1, 26));
so far i have:
$('#next_date').datepicker();
which shows the calendar fine but im not sure where the first line of code goes. this for example disables the calendar, nothing shows up, no js errors reported
$('#next_date').datepicker.formatDate('yy-mm-dd', new Date(2007, 1 - 1, 26));
I would like to do a "sexy" / user-friendly / appealing GUI in java. Swing is a limited in terms of "skin" customisation.
I'm thinking about JavaFX but I don't it yet,
what can I achieve with this technology ?
how hard is it ?
do you have examples of real-life examples of Swing/JavaFX integration ?
I would like to do something in this spirit of this, which is built on the .NET framework:

We have some software running on Windows 7 on a mobile device (Panasonic Toughbook) which needs to initiate a 3g connection to download data.
The WWAn adapter in question is a Gobi 2000. Is there any way of controlling the adapter direct from .net or should we fall back on Windows to initiate the connection as required (battery life is important).
I am looking for a site that allows you to input a project name, choose a doctype, a js library etc. and then generates the directory structure and files to start a web project. I know about project deploy, but it is no longer maintained. There was a new one that was created within the last 2 or 3 months, but for the life of me I can't find it either through Google nor my delicious bookmarks. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Steve
Can you rely on this scope and be sure that every time
1) a new session starts, the Spring bean will be initialized with default values
2) while session is kept alive, the current object will store its state during session life, will never be lost or corrupted and can always be got with [webappcontext].getBean ?
Scenario is very simple
somewhere in the code I have this
dynamic myVariable = GetDataThatLooksVerySimilarButNotTheSame();
//how to do this?
if (myVariable.MyProperty.Exists)
//Do stuff
So basically the question is how to check (avoiding exceptions) that a certain property is available in my dynamic variable.
I could do GetType() but I d rather avoid that, I dont actually want to know the type of the object I want to know if a property (or method if that makes life easier) is available
Any pointers?
Cheers
Yes, I know you need a unique resource id when calling the version of these functions that requires a key, but I cannot for the life of me figure out how to create a resource id that can be used in this way. A final variable in my class wont work and neither will a hard coded value. Both threw an IllegalArgumentException. So what gives, how do you use these methods?

I am writing a tomcat app, and have a need to do authentication within the URL like this:

I dont understand quite well about onStartInputView(), onCreateInputView(), onStartInput() and onInitializeInterface(), after i read throught inputMethodservice API.
Anyone can explain it when we use function, how we use those function. Are they like life cycle in Activity? if yes, whats the sequence of them. how can they behave?
I'm really confused about how to create a SOAP client in C# using .NET. I have found this page which looks really promising, but for the life of me I can't find Microsoft.Web.Services2. Also most information I find about SOAP with C#/.NET are about creating web services in ASP.NET and that's not what I want to do.
Basically what I want to do is implement a SOAP client in C# in a Windows Mobile application.
Because: Core Data owns the life cycle, and it can turn them into a fault at any time today or tomorrow. And probably it won't care much about the retainCount. So I'm curious if retaining managed objects
1) makes any sense
2) or how bad it is, and why it is bad
I'm using a TcpClient passed to me from a TcpListener, and for the life of me I can't figure out a simple way to get the address and port it's connected to.
The best I have so far is _client.Client.RemoteEndPoint.ToString(); which returns a string in the form FFFF::FFFF:FFFF:FFF:FFFF%00:0000. I've managed to extract the address and port using Regular Expressions, but this seems like overkill. What am I missing?
Aside from the standard stock apps shipped with your phone, what's the best Android 2.1 app in the Market Place today? You know what can't live without it? What makes your life better/easier? What just plan works day-in and day-out?
Both hashing and trees can be used for searching of the elements.But where exactly hashing is used and trees are used.Give some real life examples binary trees are used.
Hi All, i am tearing my hair out.
I have read every post on the internet and cannot for the life of me figure out HOW to force IIS 7.0 on 2008 to display detailed errors.
I have published a .net 4.0 app.
i am at a complete loss. thanks!
So for example we have real life photo. how to get (relativly to image dimentions for example) the distance from wall to girls, from girls to trees if all we know ts this picture?
Any papers with algorithms or Open Source programs doing this would be appreciated.
So How to detect how far the object on photo is from another objects on that photo?
What's the battery time of iPhone 3G and 3Gs with GPS active? I'm getting approx. 2 hours of battery life with active GPS (Note: I'm using my own App).
I am considering using mediawiki for managing my personal information (code, and other "real life" data). And I would love any tips on how best to do so.
Thanks!
I'm building a simple web application that is mainly going to be displaying small tables of data back to the user. The problem is I can't do design to save my life. I need a simple web 2.0 style template that is CSS/HTML compliant. I know about http://themeforest.net and http://www.oswd.org/. Just wondering if there are any other sites that have a good selection of templates suitable for web apps.
I'm sorry to ask this here, as I'm sure the solution is fairly easy but for the life of my I can't setup httpd.conf on my apache server to automatically load the code_igniter files.
Instead I'm having to go into the folder itself localhost/trunk/etc/etc until I get index.php - which messes with some of the relative paths (our backend coder is gone for the week so I can't ask him, but he has already setup the rewrite rules on our development server).
As I am familiar with some synthesizers, I often user real life circular sliders (e.g. to control the master volume), also called knobs. Like this one:
Sometimes I also find these controls in virtual applications (yes I like extreme minimalism =P):
But most of them are irritating, confusing or just wrong, and simple sliders could be used instead, making the UI much better. What are the advantages of circular sliders like the one in the screenshot above? And when do you use them? Thanks

I know that I've seen this site before, but cannot remember it for the life of me. Basically, it is a listing of commonly used gems, like XML parsing or ORM libraries. For the ORM case, it lists ActiveRecord, DataMapper, and the like, stating the advantages and disadvantages of each. Does anyone know what this site is? I've googled and have not been able to find it.
