  I have a perl code: my $s = "The+quick+brown+fox+jumps+over+the+lazy+dog+that+is+my+dog"; what I want is to replace every + with space and dog with cat i have this regular expression $s =~ s/+(.*)dog/ ${1}cat/g; But it only match first occurrence of + and last dog. Please help

• how to scan a LAN for live hosts using PHP and SNMP?

  I would like to have a quick script listing all active hosts in a LAN, and I am a bit lost. From other posts I figured that this can be done most effectively by polling the DHCP server (in my case a Lancom router) using SNMP. However, I am not familiar with the SNMP commands in PHP. Is snmpwalk() the correct function? Can I get snmpwalk() or any other php function to return an array that contains a list of all live hosts?

  I'm trying to write a quick app to modify some registry keys. When I'm browsing via RegEdit, I can modify and delete the keys with no problems. But when I try to use RegistryKey.DeleteSubKey() it throws an UnauthorizedAccessException Is there anyway to gain the privileges to do this? Also, why would there be a problem if my user account obviously has access to make the changes?

What I am thinking is calling the "defrag.exe /A" then analyze the output result to see whether it contains "You do not need to defragment this volume." Basically, an old group created a php page with a drop down and this drop down is populated with entries from a DB. Right now I am saving the color as a the HTML representation, but in order to use it I have to parse it out.   Using .NET and DirectSound I want to be able to take all output sound that is coming from my audio device and apply effects to it. I've had a quick look at the docs on MSDN and there doesn't seem to be any explanation as to how to do something like this.
