  • form not showing

    - by Luke
    Perhaps this has something to do with it being the mainForm, but I'll ask the question. I have my mainForm that is the first to load when the program is booted. I then click a button called Add, which should open a new form, and close the mainForm. The problem is, is shows the new form for a split second, then closes both. The code: private void addFrmBtn_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { saveForm saveform = new saveForm(); saveform.Show(); this.Close(); }

  • Returning partial address matches and mismatch position using L2S or SQL

    - by peter3
    I need to implement a method that takes an address split up into individual parts and returns any matching items from an address table. If no matches are found, I want to be able to return a value indicating where it failed. Each input param has a corresponding field in the table. The signature would look something like this: List<Address> MatchAddress(string zipCode, string streetName, string houseNumber, string houseLetter, string floor, string appartmentNo, out int mismatchPosition) { // return matching addresses // if none found, return the position where it stopped matching // zipCode is position 0, appartmentNo is position 5 // // an empty param value indicates "don't check" } I know I can construct the method such that I start with all the parameters, execute the query and then remove param by param (from the right side) until either a match is found or I run out of parameters, but can I construct a query that is more effective than that, i.e minimizing the number of calls to the db, maybe even as a single call?

  • Using table-of-contents in code?

    - by AareP
    Do you use table-of-contents for listing all the functions (and maybe variables) of a class in the beginning of big source code file? I know that alternative to that kind of listing would be to split up big files into smaller classes/files, so that their class declaration would be self-explanatory enough.. but some complex tasks require a lot of code. I'm not sure is it really worth it spending your time subdividing implementation into multiple of files? Or is it ok to create an index-listing additionally to the class/interface declaration?

  • jQuery ajax inside a loop problem

    Hello, This js loop script always get the last value of ui_item inside a jquery ajax funciton. How can a catch the correct value of each iteration? for (var i = 0; i <= split_files_cb_value_holder.length - 1; i++){ var split_values = split_files_cb_value_holder[i].split(':'); ui_item = split_files_cb_value_holder[i]; $.ajax({ type: "POST", url: "ds/index.php/playlist/check_folder", data: "component_type="+$('#component_type').val()+"&value="+split_values[1], success: function(msg) { console.log(ui_item); //ALWAYS GETS THE LAST VALUE }, error: function() { alert("An error occured while updating. • Regular expression for parsing CSV in PHP

    - by Discodancer
    I already managed to split the CSV file using this regex: "/,(?=(?:[^\"]\"[^\"]\")(?![^\"]\"))/" But I ended up with an array of strings that contain the opening and ending double quotes. Now I need a regex that would strip those strings of the delimiter double quotes. As far as I know the CSV format can encapsulate strings in double quotes, and all the double quotes that are already a part of the string are doubled. For example: My "other" cat becomes "My ""other"" cat" What I basically need is a regex that will replace all sequences of N doublequotes with a sequence of (N/2 - rounded down) double quotes. Or is there a better way ? Thanks in advance.

  • regular expression search in python

    - by Richard
    Hello all, I am trying to parse some data and just started reading up on regular Expressions so I am pretty new to it. This is the code I have so far String = "MEASUREMENT 3835 303 Oxygen: 235.78 Saturation: 90.51 Temperature: 24.41 DPhase: 33.07 BPhase: 29.56 RPhase: 0.00 BAmp: 368.57 BPot: 18.00 RAmp: 0.00 RawTem.: 68.21" String = String.strip('\t\x11\x13') String = String.split("Oxygen:") print String[1] String[1].lstrip print String[1] What I am trying to do is to do is remove the oxygen data (235.78) and put it in its own variable using an regular expression search. I realize that there should be an easy solution but I am trying to figure out how regular expressions work and they are making my head hurt. Thanks for any help Richard

  • Pull datasets from DB and manipulate into separate arrays

    - by dresdin
    My DB has four fields, date:date, morning:integer, afternoon:integer, evening:integer. Google charts needs the data split into one array per dataset (example below). What's the best way to do this? ['Day', 'Morning', 'Afternoon', 'Evening'], ['06/27/13', 1000, 400 234], ['06/28/13', 1170, 460 275], ['06/29/13', 660, 1120 377], ['06/30/13', 1030, 540 934] I've tried this without much luck: var data = google.visualization.arrayToDataTable([ <% @todo.each do |t| %> ['Day', 'Morning', 'Afternoon', 'Evening'], [<%= t.date.strftime("%m/%d/%y") %>, <%= t.morning %>, <%= t.afternoon %>, <%= t.evening %>] <% end %> ]);

  • Advanced Where Statements in Linq to Entity Framework

    - by JimJams
    Hi, I am wanting to create a Where statement within my Linq statement, but have hit a bit of a stumbling block. I would like to split a string value, and then search using each array item in the Where clause. In my normal Sql statement I would simply loop through the string array, and build up there Where clause then either pass this to a stored procedure, or just execute the sql string. But am not sure how to do this with Linq to Entity? ( From o In db.TableName Where o.Field LIKE Stringvalue Select o ).ToList() Hope you can help. Thanks in advance!

  • Views jump during ViewDidLoad

    - by Jon-Paul
    Hi, I have a custom button, subclassed from UIButton that is initialised as below (obviously all the button does is use a custom font). @implementation HWButton - (id)initWithCoder:(NSCoder *)decoder { if (self = [super initWithCoder: decoder]) { [self.titleLabel setFont:[UIFont fontWithName: @"eraserdust" size: self.titleLabel.font.pointSize]]; } return self; } So far so good. But when I use the custom class in my nib and launch the app, the button initially displays for a split second as tiny with small text, then grows. So the outcome is what I want, but I don't want to see the transition. Can anyone put me right? Thanks. JP

  • Splitting a string in ASP Classic

    - by Sam
    So here's my string: Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. Nullam elit lacus, dignissim quis laoreet non, cursus id eros. Etiam lacinia tortor vel purus eleifend accumsan. Pellentesque habitant morbi tristique senectus et netus et malesuada fames ac turpis egestas. Quisque bibendum vestibulum nisl vitae volutpat. I need to split it every 100 characters (full words only) until all the characters are used up. So we'd end up with: Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. Nullam elit lacus, dignissim quis laoreet non, and cursus id eros. Etiam lacinia tortor vel purus eleifend accumsan. Pellentesque habitant morbi tristique and senectus et netus et malesuada fames ac turpis egestas. Quisque bibendum vestibulum nisl vitae volutpat. Any ideas on the best way to do that?

  • Populating fields, input types etc using JSON

    - by Franco
    I have a form that works as follows.. Server request builds XML of the data on server side and sends xml, XSL stylesheet then transforms the XML data into the plain html page distributing the data to the relevant/desired locations of the form on the page. Person can view page and edit the populated form, submit back to DB. I think JSON is more suitable for this from what I have read. The form itself is split into 3 areas, for me this is 3 maps/associative arrays etc each with a name related to the id of an input element etc. The problem for me comes with having the JSON sent to the page, what should I do with it next in order to achieve the same result as I currently get with XML and XSL. Thanks.

  • Large number of Google Map Markers and IE6?

    - by Sivakanesh
    I'm working on an application that generates a large number of Google Map markers (2000 - 7000) via JSON. I'm also using MarkerCluster. It works quick on Chrome and FF but IE6 takes few minutes and just crashes the first time I try to zoom in. I'm not doing any more than just adding the markers to a map using JQuery & GMap API. So I looked at the following URL of the regular Google Map. http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&q=hotel&sll=53.182996,-2.581787&sspn=1.494529,4.927368&ie=UTF8&split=1&rq=1&ev=p&hq=hotel&hnear=&ll=53.123702,-2.730103&spn=1.496594,4.927368&t=h&z=8 It shows a lot of tiny markers (~1000) and works fine on IE6. Do you have any ideas why this works and the markers added via the API struggles? Thanks

  • Why do mainframe greybeards refer to DB2/zOS as "he"? [closed]

    - by Alex Nauda
    If you ask a DB2/zOS engine DBA a question about DB2's behavior, the DBA will refer to the DB2 engine as "he" much the way a sailor uses "she" to refer to his ship. For example: "Once you fill the freespace, DB2 still wants to keep those rows in cluster order in the tablespace. That's why he'll split that page in half, and you end up with lots of half-empty pages. That is, unless the cluster key of the row you've just inserted is the highest in the table, in which case he makes a new empty page, and he puts just your new row into that page. So I wouldn't have to do this REORG if you would just sort your input like I suggested." Does anyone know where this tradition comes from?

  • Showing a loading spinner only if the data has not been cached.

    - by Aaron Mc Adam
    Hi guys, Currently, my code shows a loading spinner gif, returns the data and caches it. However, once the data has been cached, there is a flicker of the loading gif for a split second before the data gets loaded in. It's distracting and I'd like to get rid of it. I think I'm using the wrong method in the beforeSend function here: $.ajax({ type : "GET", cache : false, url : "book_data.php", data : { keywords : keywords, page : page }, beforeSend : function() { $('.jPag-pages li:not(.cached)').each(function (i) { $('#searchResults').html('<p id="loader">Loading...<img src="../assets/images/ajax-loader.gif" alt="Loading..." /></p>'); }); }, success : function(data) { $('.jPag-current').parent().addClass('cached'); $('#searchResults').replaceWith($(data).find('#searchResults')).find('table.sortable tbody tr:odd').addClass('odd'); detailPage(); selectForm(); } });

  • Database table copying

    - by vbNewbie
    I am trying to rectify a previous database creation with tables that contains data that needs to be saved. Instead of recreating a completely new database since some of the tables are still reusable, I need to split a table that exists into 2 new tables which I have done. Now I am trying to insert the data into the 2 new tables and because of duplicate data in the old table I am having a hard time doing this. Old table structure: ClientProjects clientId PK clientName clientProj hashkey MD5 (clientname and clientProj) new table structures: client clientId PK clientName projects queryId PK clientId PK projectName I hope this makes sense. The problem is that in the old table for example you have clients with multiple clientIds.

  • .NET interview, code structure and the design

    - by j_lewis
    I have been given the below .NET question in an interview. I don’t know why I got low marks. Unfortunately I did not get a feedback. Question: The file hockey.csv contains the results from the Hockey Premier League. The columns ‘For’ and ‘Against’ contain the total number of goals scored for and against each team in that season (so Alabama scored 79 goals against opponents, and had 36 goals scored against them). Write a program to print the name of the team with the smallest difference in ‘for’ and ‘against’ goals. the structure of the hockey.csv looks like this (it is a valid csv file, but I just copied the values here to get an idea) Team - For - Against Alabama 79 36 Washinton 67 30 Indiana 87 45 Newcastle 74 52 Florida 53 37 New York 46 47 Sunderland 29 51 Lova 41 64 Nevada 33 63 Boston 30 64 Nevada 33 63 Boston 30 64 Solution: class Program { static void Main(string[] args) { string path = @"C:\Users\<valid csv path>"; var resultEvaluator = new ResultEvaluator(string.Format(@"{0}\{1}",path, "hockey.csv")); var team = resultEvaluator.GetTeamSmallestDifferenceForAgainst(); Console.WriteLine( string.Format("Smallest difference in ‘For’ and ‘Against’ goals > TEAM: {0}, GOALS DIF: {1}", team.Name, team.Difference )); Console.ReadLine(); } } public interface IResultEvaluator { Team GetTeamSmallestDifferenceForAgainst(); } public class ResultEvaluator : IResultEvaluator { private static DataTable leagueDataTable; private readonly string filePath; private readonly ICsvExtractor csvExtractor; public ResultEvaluator(string filePath){ this.filePath = filePath; csvExtractor = new CsvExtractor(); } private DataTable LeagueDataTable{ get { if (leagueDataTable == null) { leagueDataTable = csvExtractor.GetDataTable(filePath); } return leagueDataTable; } } public Team GetTeamSmallestDifferenceForAgainst() { var teams = GetTeams(); var lowestTeam = teams.OrderBy(p => p.Difference).First(); return lowestTeam; } private IEnumerable<Team> GetTeams() { IList<Team> list = new List<Team>(); foreach (DataRow row in LeagueDataTable.Rows) { var name = row["Team"].ToString(); var @for = int.Parse(row["For"].ToString()); var against = int.Parse(row["Against"].ToString()); var team = new Team(name, against, @for); list.Add(team); } return list; } } public interface ICsvExtractor { DataTable GetDataTable(string csvFilePath); } public class CsvExtractor : ICsvExtractor { public DataTable GetDataTable(string csvFilePath) { var lines = File.ReadAllLines(csvFilePath); string[] fields; fields = lines[0].Split(new[] { ',' }); int columns = fields.GetLength(0); var dt = new DataTable(); //always assume 1st row is the column name. for (int i = 0; i < columns; i++) { dt.Columns.Add(fields[i].ToLower(), typeof(string)); } DataRow row; for (int i = 1; i < lines.GetLength(0); i++) { fields = lines[i].Split(new char[] { ',' }); row = dt.NewRow(); for (int f = 0; f < columns; f++) row[f] = fields[f]; dt.Rows.Add(row); } return dt; } } public class Team { public Team(string name, int against, int @for) { Name = name; Against = against; For = @for; } public string Name { get; private set; } public int Against { get; private set; } public int For { get; private set; } public int Difference { get { return (For - Against); } } } Output: Smallest difference in for' andagainst' goals TEAM: Boston, GOALS DIF: -34 Can someone please review my code and see anything obviously wrong here? They were only interested in the structure/design of the code and whether the program produces the correct result (i.e lowest difference). Much appreciated. • vestal_versions and htmldiff question of reversion...

    - by holden
    I'm guessing there's probably an easier way to do what I'm doing so that the code is less unwieldy. I had trouble understanding how to use the revert_to method... i wanted something where i could call up two different versions at the same time, but this doesn't seem to be the way that vestal_versions works. This code works, but I'm wondering if I'm making something harder than it needs to be and I'd like to find out before I delve deeper. @article = Article.find(params[:id]) if params[:versions] v = params[:versions].split(',') @article.revert_to(v.first.to_i) @content1 = @article.content @article.revert_to(v.last.to_i) @content2 = @article.content end In case you're wondering, I'm using this in conjunction with HTMLDIFF to get the version changes. <div id="content"> <% if params[:versions] %> <%= Article.diff(@content1, @content2) %> <% else %> <%= @article.content %> <% end %> </div>
