Hi all, i want to ask that, is it possible to show any part of image in img tag (with pixels) via Javascript.
I mean, i'll prepare a big image (e.g. 32x320 pixels) and i'll define starting position (X,Y , e.g. 0,32) and width/height (e.g. 32,32), so script will show second (32x32 pixel) part of main image..
I hope i can explain.
Thanks right now..
I have a list of keywords, and I've created a checkbox for each. My template has a form wrapping the content, so I can't have a nested form around the checkbox list.
How can I send the selected checkbox values to my search results page?
The form that wraps the content doesn't have any actions or methods applied:
<form id="BoostMasterForm" runat="server">
This the HTML markup of my checkbox list:
<div class="checkboxes">
<ul>
<li>
<input type="checkbox" name="search" class="options" value="one">
<label>one</label>
</li>
<li>
<input type="checkbox" name="search" class="options" value="two">
<label>two</label>
</li>
<li>
<input type="checkbox" name="search" class="options" value="three">
<label>three</label>
</li>
</ul>
<input type="submit" value="Submit"/>
</div>
How can I use javascript or jQuery to submit the values of the multiple checkbox selections and on submit action them to the following URL: '/imagery/image-search.aspx'
The resulting URL for a search where option 1 and 3 are submitted should be: '/imagery/image-search.aspx?search=one%20three'
I'm using this javascript that I found on another post, however I need it to append the form an the action and the method. My website is ASP, where this post is for a PHP site:
Sending multiple checkbox options
$('.options').click(function() {
var selectedItems = new Array();
$(".checkboxes input:checkbox[name=search]:checked").each(function() {selectedItems.push($(this).val());});
var data = selectedItems.join('|');
$("#opts").val(data);
});
If anyone can help, it'd be greatly appreciated.
Cheers, JV
Is there a way in javascript to detect all images in a document, including those that may be loaded asynchronously (and maybe after the DOM is ready)?
I'm looking to create a function that can detect if Google Analytics has been loaded by searching through the DOM looking for "__utm.gif". document.images doesn't seem to hold this image as it's loaded asynchronously and not displayed.
is there a way to load css and/or javascript files from outside of the public web directory?
for example on my hosting service i have /public_html but don't want these files to exist in the public directory and want them in a directory outside of the public directory in a sibling directory /system (i am using codeigniter) within the /system/application/view/
Just wondering if it's possible to print and list all methods and attributes available to the DOM document itself using Javascript?
So I would get something like so:
Document.doctype
Document.implementation
Document.documentElement
Document.createElement
Document.createDocumentFragment
Document.createTextNode
Document.createComment
Document.createProcessingInstruction
etc...
etc...
I want to do this to test on different browsers and not have to wade through mountains technical documents from each vendor to get accurate information.
I know in jquery it is possible to call the javascript/jquery onload()/load() functions on, for example an image (<img>).
However, if in jquery if i use .html(htmlString) to insert an image after the dom has loaded, how can i add a listener to handle the images onload event? Is there a property I can check to see various images and if they have loaded?

Hi,
How do I detect change event on textarea using javascript?
I'm trying to detect how many characters left is available as you type.
I tried using the onchange event, but that seems to only kick in when focus is out.
Thanks,

Is it possible to simulate a click on a webpage using javascript but without defining a specific element, but rather just specifying the document?
I would have liked to do something like this, and if the location happens to have a link, then this will be pressed:
function simulateClick(x, y)
{
var evt = window.createEvent("MouseEvents");
evt.initMouseEvent("click", true, true, window,
x, y, x, y, 1, false, false, false, false, 0, null);
window.dispatchEvent(evt);
}
I have an asp.net button, that when clicked calls a code behind function. The function does some evaluation, and then I want to call javascript from within this asp.net function.
I've been having a crack at some of the problems over at http://projecteuler.net/ with JavaScript. I've been using a simple html page and running my code in script tags so I can log my results in the browsers' console. When experimenting with loops I sometimes cause the browser to crash.
Is there a better environment for me to do this kind of development?

Hi all,
I am developing a small facebook application.
In my application I need offline_access and email permission. I've been succesfully prompting the user for permission using
FB.Connect.showPermissionDialog("email,offline_access");
But what I really want to do is prompt the user with a require permission dialog, not request.
Does anyone know how to do that in javascript?
Thank you very much!

Is there a way to show the structure of a javascript class declared using Prototype's Class.create function in the Eclipse outline view?
The declarations look like:
var Foo = Class.create({
bar: function() {
...
},
baz: function() {
...
},
});
At the moment all I get is "Foo:".
(A google search turned up http://marketplace.eclipse.org/content/prototypewtp, but the link to the plugin homepage is dead)
