    What would be the best approach to finding a date in a freeform text? A post where a user may place a date in it in several different ways such as: July 14th & 15th 7/14 & 7/15 7-14 & 7-15 Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th Saturday July 14th and 15th and so on. Is regex my best choice for this type of thing with preg_match? I would also like to search if there are two dates, one for a start date and a second for an end date, but in the text I'm searching there may be one date or two. So basically I've pared it down to needing to find out how to mess with the name of each input so that it can reflect the loop index appropriately, so Catalyst::Plugin::Params::Nested will build the correct structure. Thoughts?

    Hi - I've been using Log4Perl extensively in a number of scripts. I'd like to augment those scripts to set an error code if any WARN or ERROR messages have been logged. I couldn't find any obvious way to do this based on existing documentation. I'd like to avoid a brute-force rewrite of my existing scripts to add a check on every WARN or ERROR log message; I'd prefer to handle it prior to script exit if possible like this pseudocode: if $log->has_warnings_or_errors then exit 1 else exit 0 Is there any easy way to call Log4Perl to determine if the current logger has issues messages of certain levels?     In the example code below, assuming that the value $keyvalue is constantly changing, I am attempting to use a single line (or something similarly contained) to test and see if the current $keyvalue already exists. If it does, then do nothing. If it does not, then push it. This line would reside within a while statement which is why it needs to be contained within a few lines. Preserving order does not matter as long as there are no duplicate values. my $key = "numbers"; my $keyvalue = 1; my %hash = ($key => '1'); push (@{$hash{$key}}, $keyvalue) unless exists $hash{$key}; I am not getting any errors with use strict; use warnings;, but at the same time this is not working. In the example above, I would expect that since the default value is 1 that the $keyvalue would not be pushed as it is also 1. Perhaps I have gotten myself all turned around... Are there adjustments to get this to work or any alternatives that can be used instead to accomplish the same thing?
