  • Argument exception after trying to use TryGetObjectByKey

    - by Rickjaah
    Hi, EDIT: Somethings wrong.... I have to use objectContext.Frontpages.ToArray() before I can use TryGetObjectByEntityKey(). Any ideas anyone? I'm trying to retrieve an object from my database using entity (framework 4) When I use the following code it gives an ArgumentException: An item with the same key has already been added. if (databaseContext.TryGetObjectByKey(entityKey, out result)) { return (result != null && result is TEntityObject) ? result as TEntityObject : null; } else { return null; } When I check the objectContext, I see the entities, but only if I enumerate the specific list of entities manually using VS2010, it works. What am I missing? Do I have to do something else before i can get the item from the database? I searched google, but could not find any results, the same for the msdn library EDIT: Still working on this.... It's a weird problem. • Dynamically loaded control - how can I access a value in Page_Init

    - by Sam
    I am loading a LinkButton dynamically when a user clicks on another LinkButton. I am attaching an event handler to it. When the user clicks on the dynamically loaded LinkButton, the event does not fire. From what I've been reading, I understand this is because when the page posts back the dynamically loaded control no longer exists. It looks like I'm supposed to make sure this control is recreated in Page_Init. The dynamically created LinkButton is dependedent on a value (Product ID). I need someway to access this value so I can properly create the control. ViewState is not accessible and I'm concerned if I use Session it could time out and then that wouldn't help. Any ideas? Also, I hardcoded a Product ID value just for testing, and that still did not cause the event to fire. Is there something else I need to do? protected void Page_Init(object sender, EventArgs e) { SetTabText(1, 1); } SetTabText calls SetActionLinks which creates the LinkButton: protected Panel SetActionLinks(int prodID, int tabID) { ... LinkButton lnkBtn = new LinkButton(); lnkBtn.ID = "lnkBtn" + rand.Next().ToString(); lnkBtn.CommandName = "action"; lnkBtn.Command += new CommandEventHandler(this.lnkAction_Command); panel.Controls.Add(lnkBtn); ... } void lnkAction_Command(object sender, CommandEventArgs e) { LinkButton btn = (LinkButton)sender; switch (btn.CommandArgument) { AddCart(); } }

  • WinForms DataGridView - update database

    - by Geo Ego
    I know this is a basic function of the DataGridView, but for some reason, I just can't get it to work. I just want the DataGridView on my Windows form to submit any changes made to it to the database when the user clicks the "Save" button. I populate the DataGridView according to a function triggered by a user selection in a DropDownList as follows: using (SqlConnection con = new SqlConnection(conString)) { con.Open(); SqlDataAdapter ruleTableDA = new SqlDataAdapter("SELECT rule.fldFluteType AS [Flute], rule.fldKnife AS [Knife], rule.fldScore AS [Score], rule.fldLowKnife AS [Low Knife], rule.fldMatrixScore AS [Matrix Score], rule.fldMatrix AS [Matrix] FROM dbo.tblRuleTypes rule WHERE rule.fldMachine_ID = '1003'", con); DataSet ruleTableDS = new DataSet(); ruleTableDA.Fill(ruleTableDS); RuleTable.DataSource = ruleTableDS.Tables[0]; } In my save function, I basically have the following (I've trimmed out some of the code around it to get to the point): using (SqlDataAdapter ruleTableDA = new SqlDataAdapter("SELECT rule.fldFluteType AS [Flute], rule.fldKnife AS [Knife], rule.fldScore AS [Score], rule.fldLowKnife AS [Low Knife], rule.fldMatrixScore AS [Matrix Score], rule.fldMatrix AS [Matrix] FROM dbo.tblRuleTypes rule WHERE rule.fldMachine_ID = '1003'", con)) { SqlCommandBuilder commandBuilder = new SqlCommandBuilder(ruleTableDA); DataTable dt = new DataTable(); dt = RuleTable.DataSource as DataTable; ruleTableDA.Fill(dt); ruleTableDA.Update(dt); } Okay, so I edited the code to do the following: build the commands, create a DataTable based on the DataGridView (RuleTable), fill the DataAdapter with the DataTable, and update the database. Now ruleTableDA.Update(dt) is throwing the exception "Concurrency violation: the UpdateCommand affected 0 of the expected 1 records."

  • help me understand the following javascript relate to AsyncFileUpload control

    - by sean717
    Hi, in my current project I used a AsyncFileUpload control from AJAX Control Toolkits. After I got the async file upload part working, I needed to filter the file type so users can only upload image files. I found the following code off web and it worked well: function uploadStarted(sender, args) { var filename = args.get_fileName(); var filext = filename.substring(filename.lastIndexOf(".") + 1); if (filext == "jpg" || filext == "jpeg" || filext == "gif" || filext == "bmp") { return true; } else { // force uploading cancel args.set_cancel(true); // set reason of cancel args.set_errorMessage("Invalid File Format Selected"); return false; } } The problem is : I don't understand this javascript. What is the type of args parameter? Where are the methods such as "get_fileName()", "set_cancel()" defined? I went to the homepage of the AsyncFileUpload control but couldn't find any documentation regarding the "args". Can someone help me out explaining this Javascript? Thanks

  • Reading text out of textbox in Radgrid

    - by Christophe
    I have a Radgrid with 2 Textboxes and 2 DatePickers. The idea is that I have a grid with a Property name, value, valid from and until. I'm filling the first Textbox myself, the user has to fill in the value, from and until. Filling in the propertynames: (In the pageload) foreach (String s in testProperties) { DataRow dr = dt.NewRow(); dr[0] = s; dr[1] = ""; dr[2] = ""; dr[3] = ""; dt.Rows.Add(dr); } When the user hit "Save" I have to read out all the data he filled in. (In the btnSave click) foreach (GridDataItem dataItem in RadGrid1.Items) { String[] str = new String[3]; str[0] = ((TextBox)dataItem["col2"].FindControl("TextBox2")).Text; str[1] = ((RadDatePicker)dataItem["col3"].FindControl("RadDatePicker1")).SelectedDate.ToString(); str[2] = ((RadDatePicker)dataItem["col4"].FindControl("RadDatePicker2")).SelectedDate.ToString(); properties.Add(((TextBox)dataItem["col1"].FindControl("TextBox1")).Text, str); } Now this is where I have the problem. When i read out the data all my 'str' have the value "" instead the data that the user fills in. Question is, how comes my values in the texboxes remain ""? Or is their a better way to read out the data?

  • How to Animate a Gradient on a Path to visualize data flow in WPF/WCF app

    - by John
    I have an interesting project where several "nodes" on a cnavas are connected via a Path similiar to a mindmap tree. The path is used to visualize the connection state between two nodes. Red means the nodes are disconnected, green means they're connected. The next step would be to illustrate data flow (from A to B or B to A) using that path and an animation. Basically I would want to start the animation with the data transfer and stop it when the transfer is complete. Does anyone know how this could be done in WPF?

  • Can the Windows Indexing Service restart an app pool if it doesn't index the Web.Config?

    - by JamesEggers
    I am having a slight debate with a colleague of mine on this subject. Scenario: A web site has a sub directory that is indexed using the Windows Indexing Service. There is not a web.config in this directory and the indexing service is not indexing the parent directory which is the site root. Something is causing the app pool to restart at supposedly random times. From what I am finding online, the only time the Windows Indexing service would cause an app pool restart is if it's indexing the web.config (or machine.config). My colleague is saying that the indexing service is causing the restarts just because it's in a child folder of the root. So...does anyone have any information or experience on this? If the indexing service is indexing a child folder of the root but not the root directory itself, can it cause IIS to restart the site's app pool? EDIT: The sub directory in question is NOT the bin directory. I know it would cause such as well; however, the bin directory is not the target of the indexing service.

  • WPF TreeView drag and drop using preview

    - by imekon
    I'm handling drag and drop events in a TreeView using PreviewMouseDown, PreviewMouseMove and PreviewMouseUp, however, there is an issue. In my PreviewMouseDown handler, I set everything ready in case there's a drag started (detected in the Move event), however I set e.Handled = true. This means that standard selection events don't get generated on my tree! What I want to be able to do in my Up event is to invoke the standard treeview selection changed event - except I cannot call events outside of the tree. So what's the correct way to do this? I have tried using the standard MouseDown, MouseMove and MouseUp events however there's an issue with messing up my multiple selection feature that means I need to use the Preview version of those events.

  • Display weekday in textbox or label using date from textbox

    - by Niels Schultz
    I have a textbox with calendar extender and a label <label for="<%= tbxFrom.ClientID %>"> From</label> <asp:Label ID="lblWeekDayFrom" runat="server"></asp:Label> <asp:TextBox ID="tbxFrom" runat="server" CssClass="Calendar"></asp:TextBox> <cc1:CalendarExtender ID="extTbxFrom" runat="server" TargetControlID="tbxStartTag"> </cc1:CalendarExtender> and now I would like to show the weekday of the currently selected date, either using a formatting inside the textbox like Th 05/20/2010 or showing the weekday as string using the label on the left side of the texbox (lblWeekDayFrom). There is a calendarExtender to select the date, but I would also like to be able to have the users enter the date manually. I tried to use JQuery to capture changes, but the label is not showing anything, and it triggers the RequiredFieldValidator on every initial page load. $(document).ready(function() { $('#<%= tbxFrom.ClientID %>').change(updateDate($('#<%= tbxFrom.ClientID %>').val())) } ); function updateDate(date) { $('#<%= lblWeekDayFrom.ClientID %>').val(date); }

  • How to HitTest in a WPF Grid Panel to find column index.

    - by John
    Hi. We need to create a "timeline" feature where a user is allowed to drag and draw "time spans" into a WPF grid (we thought this better than a Canvas since it has resizing capabilities). Each span spans multiple columns, but only one row. We utilize the PreviewMouseDown/Up/Move events to see when the user clicks, drags, and releases the mouse. On the "Down" we create a new rectangle and on the "Move" we resize the rectangle, settings its ColumnSpan property to the correct value every time the mouse enteres the next column. At this point the grid has 48 1-star-sized columns. How do we find out which column the user has clicked on? Right now we are unable to find the column using the VisualTreeHelper.HitTest function. We would like to position the rectangle correctly via Grid.SetColumn(rect, X) and then resize it as needed using Grid.SetColumnSpan(rect, Y) Has anyone done something like this before and can help us? Or, is there a better way to draw what we need? Thanks.

  • Is is possible to enable persistent cookies and disable session cookies?

    - by Sem Dendoncker
    Hello, We have an application that uses a persistent cookie to store the language of the user and a session cookie for authentication. Now our site starts with a number of tests such as: javascript, cookies, flash plugin, sound and popup and only if all tests succeed you can go to the logon page. After logging in you can see the application. Now one of our clients has a serieus problem, she passes all the tests but upon logging in she goes to the default page and get's redirected tot the logon page again. (form authentication). Now I was wondering how this is possible. It's allmost like a persistent cookie is enabled (otherweise she's not able to skip the language page) and a session cookie isn't. I hope this explains it a bit. Cheers, M.

In debug I can see the ModelState error is populated, but the message is not displayed on the view. I do not have issues with displaying error message for other controls (TextBoxFor)

  • Multiple update panels and multiple postbacks cause entire page to refresh...

    - by Matt
    I'm having the same problem I had yesterday... The solution Aristos provided helped solve the problem, but I have other places sending updatepanel postbacks causing the same problem. When an update panel is updated and another request for an update is called before it has a chance to render the first updates, the entire page refreshes instead of just the update panel. I used fiddler to see what was going on and here's what happens... If I wait for the request to return before doing another request I get this: 21443|updatePanel|dnn_ctr1107_CRM_SalesTool_LeadsUpdatePanel| But if I don't wait, I get this: 66|pageRedirect||http://mysite.com/salesdashboard.aspx| The code from the previous question is still the same except I added UpdateMode="Conditional" to the update panel. Any ideas? Or is the only solution to this making sure that 2+ updates for any number of update panels (as long as they're on the same page) never happen? Thanks, Matt

  • ClickOnce deployment to production

    - by gilbertc
    Our smart-client application is deployed using the ClickOnce. Our production site is hosted on 2 separate web servers, and they are pointed from the same domain-name (for load-balancing). Here is what we do when we push updates to the production. In VS, publish the smart-client application into a localhost directory Copy/Paste the directory to the webservers The deployment address from VS is localhost while it is being used in some other production website. Is that a proper way to deploy smart-client applications?

  • Updating fields of values in a ConcurrentDictionary

    - by rboarman
    I am trying to update entries in a ConcurrentDictionary something like this: class Class1 { public int Counter { get; set; } } class Test { private ConcurrentDictionary<int, Class1> dict = new ConcurrentDictionary<int, Class1>(); public void TestIt() { foreach (var foo in dict) { foo.Value.Counter = foo.Value.Counter + 1; // Simplified example } } } Essentially I need to iterate over the dictionary and update a field on each Value. I understand from the documentation that I need to avoid using the Value property. Instead I think I need to use TryUpdate except that I don’t want to replace my whole object. Instead, I want to update a field on the object. After reading this blog entry on the PFX team blog: Perhaps I need to use AddOrUpdate and simply do nothing in the add delegate. Does anyone have any insight as to how to do this?

Thanks!

I hope you can help me, and tell me why ;) Code: UserControl.xaml: <UserControl x:Class="Cis.Modules.RiskManagement.Views.Controls.RisikoBewertungEditor" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" xmlns:gridtools="clr-namespace:TmgUnity.Common.Presentation.Controls.DataGridTools;assembly=TmgUnity.Common.Presentation" xmlns:converter="clr-namespace:Cis.Modules.RiskManagement.Views.Converter" xmlns:tmg="clr-namespace:TmgUnity.Common.Presentation.Controls.FilterDataGrid;assembly=TmgUnity.Common.Presentation" xmlns:validators="clr-namespace:TmgUnity.Common.Presentation.ValidationRules;assembly=TmgUnity.Common.Presentation" xmlns:toolkit="http://schemas.microsoft.com/wpf/2008/toolkit" xmlns:risikoControls="clr-namespace:Cis.Modules.RiskManagement.Views.Controls"> <UserControl.Resources> <converter:CountToArrowConverter x:Key="CountConverter" /> </UserControl.Resources> <Grid> <Grid.ColumnDefinitions> <ColumnDefinition Name="Veränderung"/> <ColumnDefinition Name="Volumen" /> <ColumnDefinition Name="Schadenshöhe" /> <ColumnDefinition Name="SchadensOrte" /> <ColumnDefinition Name="Wahrscheinlichkeit" /> <ColumnDefinition Name="Kategorie" /> <ColumnDefinition Name="Handlungsbedarf" /> </Grid.ColumnDefinitions> <Grid.RowDefinitions> <RowDefinition Height="20" /> <RowDefinition /> </Grid.RowDefinitions> <Image Source="{Binding Path=Entwicklung, Converter={StaticResource CountConverter}, UpdateSourceTrigger=PropertyChanged}" Grid.RowSpan="2" Grid.Row="0" Width="68" Height="68" Grid.Column="0" /> <TextBox Grid.Column="1" Grid.Row="0" Text="Volumen" /> <TextBox Grid.Column="1" Grid.Row="1"> <TextBox.Text> <Binding Path="Volumen" UpdateSourceTrigger="PropertyChanged" /> </TextBox.Text> </TextBox> <TextBox Grid.Column="2" Grid.Row="0" Text="Schadenshöhe" /> <TextBox Grid.Column="2" Grid.Row="1" Text="{Binding Path=Schadenshöhe, UpdateSourceTrigger=PropertyChanged}" /> <StackPanel Grid.Column="3" Grid.RowSpan="2" Grid.Row="0" Orientation="Horizontal"> <Grid> <Grid.RowDefinitions> <RowDefinition Height="20" /> <RowDefinition /> </Grid.RowDefinitions> <Grid.ColumnDefinitions> <ColumnDefinition /> <ColumnDefinition /> <ColumnDefinition /> </Grid.ColumnDefinitions> <TextBox Text ="Politik" Grid.Row="0" Grid.Column="0"/> <CheckBox Name="Politik" Grid.Row="1" Grid.Column="0" IsChecked="{Binding Path=Politik, UpdateSourceTrigger=PropertyChanged}" VerticalAlignment="Center" HorizontalAlignment="Center" /> <TextBox Text ="Vermögen" Grid.Row="0" Grid.Column="1" /> <CheckBox Name="Vermögen" Grid.Row="1" Grid.Column="1" IsChecked="{Binding Path=Vermögen, UpdateSourceTrigger=PropertyChanged}" VerticalAlignment="Center" HorizontalAlignment="Center" /> <TextBox Text ="Vertrauen" Grid.Row="0" Grid.Column="2" /> <CheckBox Name="Vertrauen" Grid.Row="1" Grid.Column="2" IsChecked="{Binding Path=Vertrauen, UpdateSourceTrigger=PropertyChanged}" VerticalAlignment="Center" HorizontalAlignment="Center" /> </Grid> </StackPanel> <TextBox Grid.Column="4" Grid.Row="0" Text="Wahrscheinlichkeit" /> <TextBox Grid.Column="4" Grid.Row="1" Text="{Binding Path=Wahrscheinlichkeit, UpdateSourceTrigger=PropertyChanged}"/> <risikoControls:RiskTrafficLightControl Grid.Column="5" Grid.Row="0" Grid.RowSpan="2" RiskValue="{Binding Path=Kategorie, Mode=TwoWay, UpdateSourceTrigger=PropertyChanged}" /> <StackPanel Grid.Column="6" Grid.RowSpan="2" Grid.Row="0" Orientation="Vertical"> <TextBox Text="Handlungsbedarf" /> <CheckBox VerticalAlignment="Center" HorizontalAlignment="Center" IsChecked="{Binding Path=Handlungsbedarf, UpdateSourceTrigger=PropertyChanged}" /> </StackPanel> </Grid> The CodeBehind: using System;
