  • RelativeLayout does not shrink in height

    - by rudas
    Hi, I cannot get my relative layuot view to shrink when using it in the follwing layout, used as a dialog. In below example the scrollview always expands to fill the entire dialog which looks very ugly if there is not much actual content. I have tried most combinations of fill_parent, wrap_content etc without success. The problem seems to be that setting the button to "align_bottom" will cause the dialog to fill its height. But if I change the order and have to button placed below the scrollview the button will not be visible if a lot of content is shown... Please help /Rudas <RelativeLayout android:id="@+id/RelativeLayout01" xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:layout_width="wrap_content"> <ScrollView android:id="@+id/ScrollView01" android:layout_above="@+id/dialogCloseButton" android:layout_alignParentTop="true" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content"> <LinearLayout android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:id="@+id/dialogContent" android:orientation="vertical" android:paddingBottom="10dp"> <TextView android:id="@+id/TextView01" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content"> </TextView> </LinearLayout> </ScrollView> <Button android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:text="Close" android:id="@+id/dialogCloseButton" android:layout_alignParentBottom="true" android:layout_centerHorizontal="true"></Button> </RelativeLayout>

  • Can't seem to sign AWS Cloud Front URL properly

    - by Joe Corkery
    Hi everybody, I found a lot of detailed examples online on how to sign an Amazon CloudFront URL for private content. Unfortunately, whenever I implement these examples my URL doesn't seem to work. The resource path is correct because I can download the file when it is set for world read, but the URL doesn't work when set just for authorized users. The PHP code I am using is below. If anybody has any insights as to what I might be doing wrong (I'm guessing it is something obvious that I am just not seeing right now), it would be greatly appreciated. function urlCloudFront($resource) { $AWS_CF_KEY = 'APKA...'; $priv_key = file_get_contents(path_to_pem_file); $pkeyid = openssl_get_privatekey($priv_key); $expires = strtotime("+ 3 hours"); $policy_str = '{"Statement":[{"Resource":"'.$resource.'","Condition":{"DateLessThan":{"AWS:EpochTime":'.$expires.'}}}]}'; $policy_str = trim( preg_replace( '/\s+/', '', $policy_str ) ); $res = openssl_sign($policy_str, $signature, $pkeyid, OPENSSL_ALGO_SHA1); $signature_base64 = (base64_encode($signature)); $repl = array('+' => '-','=' => '_','/' => '~'); $signature_base64 = strtr($signature_base64,$repl); $url = $resource . '?Expires=' .$expires. '&Signature=' . $signature_base64 . '&Key-Pair-Id='. $AWS_CF_KEY; print '<p><A href="' .$url. '">Download VIDA (CloudFrount)</A>'; } urlCloudFront("http://mydistcloud.cloudfront.net/mydir/myfile.tar.gz"); Thanks.

  • Why do I get an error while trying to set the content of a tabspec in android?

    - by rushinge
    I have an android activity in which I'm using tabs. public class UnitActivity extends TabActivity { @Override public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); setContentView(R.layout.unit_view); TabHost tabHost = getTabHost(); TabSpec spec; spec = tabHost.newTabSpec("controls"); spec.setIndicator("Control"); spec.setContent(R.layout.unit_control); tabHost.addTab(spec); spec = tabHost.newTabSpec("data"); spec.setIndicator("Data"); spec.setContent(R.layout.unit_data); tabHost.addTab(spec); } } However when I run the program it crashes with the error: "Could not create tab content because could not find view with id 2130903042". I don't understand what the problem is because R.layout.unit_data refers to a layout file in my resource directory (res/layout/unit_data.xml) as far as I can tell unit_data.xml is well formed and I've even referenced it successfully in another activity class UnitData extends Activity { @Override public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); setContentView(R.layout.unit_data); Toast.makeText(this, "Hi from UnitData.onCreate", 5); } } which does not give an error and renders the layout just fine. What's going on? Why can't I reference this layout when creating a tab?

  • How to Implement Custom List View for the list Items in Android Application

    - by avadhani
    I had a problem with the list view having both parent list and the child list of the list activity(implemented through database query). I wish to show them differing their properties by changing the text style (parent list items are in bold, child list items are in normal style). The following is the code from which all the child and parent list items having the same style(bold): String sql = "SELECT Parentid,Childid,Name from (select com.Parentid, com.Childid, com.Name from table1 mem inner join table2 cd on mem.column1=cd.column1 inner join table3 com on com.childid = mem.childid where Parentid is NULL UNION SELECT com.Parentid, com.Childid,com.Name from table1 mem inner join table3 com on com.childid = mem.childid inner join table2 cd on mem.column1=cd.column1 where Parentid is NOT NULL) a group by Parentid, Childid;"; Cursor cdata = myDbHelper.getView(sql); and the List Adapter is: private static final String fields[] = {"Name"}; int[] names = new int[] {R.id.name}; SimpleCursorAdapter adapter2 = new SimpleCursorAdapter(this,R.layout.clientlist1, cdata, fields,names ); and the clientlist.xml is: <LinearLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:orientation="horizontal" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="fill_parent" android:id="@+id/MainLayout" android:padding="5px"> <TextView android:id="@+id/name" android:layout_alignParentRight="true" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:textSize="12sp" android:textColor="#104082" android:textStyle="bold" android:layout_weight="1" /> From this i am getting the list having the complete list having both parent and child list items in a single list view. I wish to differ in their text style(bold, normal) for parent and child items respectively. Please help me with the code/links. Thanks a lot in advance.

  • Weird onclick behavior of images on home screen widget

    - by kknight
    I wrote a home screen widget with one image on it. When the image is clicked, browser will be opened for a url link. Generally, it is working. But a weird thing is that, when I click background, then click the picture, the browser will not be open. Until I click the second time on the picture, the browser opens. The steps to reproduce is below: Click on the home screen widget background. Click on the image on the home screen. The browser is not opened. Click on the image again. The browser is opened. If I didn't click on the background, the image will react to click very well, i.e. browser will be open when the image is clicked the first time. The widget XML file is as below: <RelativeLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:id="@+id/widget" android:layout_width="320dip" android:layout_height="200dip" android:background="@drawable/prt_base" > <ImageView android:id="@+id/picture1" android:layout_width="134dip" android:layout_height="102dip" android:layout_marginLeft="62dip" android:layout_marginTop="6dip" android:scaleType="center" android:src="@drawable/picture1" /> </RelativeLayout> The code to set OnClick on the picture1 ImageView is as below: defineIntent = new Intent(Intent.ACTION_VIEW, Uri .parse("http://www.google.com")); pendingIntent = PendingIntent .getActivity(context, 0 /* no requestCode */, defineIntent, 0 /* no flags */); updateViews.setOnClickPendingIntent( picId, pendingIntent); Anyone knows what's wrong? Thanks.

  • When are predicates appropriate and what is the best pattern for usage

    - by Maxim Gershkovich
    When are predicates appropriate and what is the best pattern for usage? What are the advantages of predicates? It seems to me like most cases where a predicate can be employed a tight loop would accomplish the same functionality? I don’t see a reusability argument given you will probably only implement a predicate in one method right? They look and feel nice but besides that they seem like you would only employ them when you need a quick hack on the collection classes? UPDATE But why would you be rewriting the tight loop again and again? In my mind/code when it comes to collections I always end up with something like Class Person End Class Class PersonList Inherits List(Of Person) Function FindByName(Name) as Person tight loop.... End Function End Class @Ani By that same logic I could implement the method as such Class PersonList Inherits List(Of Person) Function FindByName(Name) as PersonList End Function Function FindByAge(Age) as PersonList End Function Function FindBySocialSecurityNumber(SocialSecurityNumber) as PersonList End Function End Class And call it as such Dim res as PersonList = MyList.FindByName("Max").FindByAge(25).FindBySocialSecurityNumber(1234) and the result along with the amount of code and its reusability is largely the same, no? I am not arguing just trying to understand.

  • Why doesn't setting clearTaskOnLaunch="true" cause OnCreate to be called?

    - by cbrauer
    My application works fine, once it is initialized in the OnCreate method of my View class. However, when I open my app after the Droid phone has been sitting idle all night, the OnCreate method is not being called. I use the OnCreate to initialize data, and that in turn initializes the GUI. The GUI clearly shows that OnCreate was not called. I tried setting clearTaskOnLaunch="true" in my Manifest. My Manifest is: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <manifest xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" package="com.hedgetools.trin" android:versionCode="2" android:versionName="1.02"> <application android:icon="@drawable/icon" android:label="@string/app_name" android:clearTaskOnLaunch="true"> <activity android:name=".Trin" android:label="@string/app_name"> <intent-filter> <action android:name="android.intent.action.MAIN" /> <category android:name="android.intent.category.LAUNCHER" /> </intent-filter> </activity> </application> <uses-sdk android:minSdkVersion="6" /> <uses-permission android:name="android.permission.INTERNET" /> <uses-permission android:name="android.permission.ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE" /> </manifest> This did not help. My OnCreate method is not being call after the Droid phone sits idle all night. Why doesn’t clearTaskOnLaunch cause OnCreate to be called? Any help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated. • Android XML Preference issue. Can't make it persistent

    - by Budius
    I have a very simple activity just to show the preference fragment: public class PreferencesActivity extends Activity { Fragment frag = null; @Override public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); FragmentTransaction ft = getFragmentManager().beginTransaction(); if (frag == null) { // If not, instantiate and add it to the activity frag = new PrefsFragment(); ft.add(android.R.id.content, frag, frag.getClass().getName()); } else { // If it exists, simply attach it in order to show it ft.attach(frag); } ft.commit(); } private static class PrefsFragment extends PreferenceFragment { @Override public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); addPreferencesFromResource(R.xml.preferences); } } } and preferences.xml with persistent to true: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <PreferenceScreen xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:enabled="true" android:persistent="true" android:title="@string/settings" > <EditTextPreference android:dialogTitle="@string/dialog_ip" android:negativeButtonText="@android:string/cancel" android:persistent="true" android:positiveButtonText="@android:string/ok" android:title="@string/ip" /> </PreferenceScreen> if I open the EditTextPreference, write something, close the dialog and open it again. The value is still there. But that's it... if I click the Back button, and enter the again on the preferences screen, I already lost what was written. If you exit the application also doesn't save. Am I missing something here? Running on: Android 4.0.3 Asus TF300

  • What is the most common way to use a middleware in node with express and connect

    - by Bernhard
    Thinking about the correct way, how to make use of middlewares in a node.js web project using express and connect which is growing up at the moment. Of course there are middlewares right now wich has to pass or extend requests globally but in a lot of cases there are special jobs like prepare incoming data and in this case the middleware would only work for a set of http-methods and routes. I've a component based architecture and each component brings it's own middleware layer which can implement those for requests this component can handle. On app startup any required component is loaded and prepared. Is it a good idea to bind the middleware code execution to URLs to keep cpu load lower or is it better to use middlewares only for global purposes? Here's some dummy how an url related middleware look like. app.use(function(req, res, next) { // Check if requested route is a part of the current component // or if the middleware should be passed on any request if (APP.controller.groups.Component.isExpectedRoute(req) || APP.controller.groups.Component.getConfig().MIDDLEWARE_PASS_ALL === true) { // Execute the midleware code here console.log('This is a route which should be afected by middleware'); ... next(); }else{ next(); } });

  • Can I prevent a Linux user space pthread yielding in critical code?

    - by KermitG
    I am working on an user space app for an embedded Linux project using the 2.6.24.3 kernel. My app passes data between two file nodes by creating 2 pthreads that each sleep until a asynchronous IO operation completes at which point it wakes and runs a completion handler. The completion handlers need to keep track of how many transfers are pending and maintain a handful of linked lists that one thread will add to and the other will remove. // sleep here until events arrive or time out expires for(;;) { no_of_events = io_getevents(ctx, 1, num_events, events, &timeout); // Process each aio event that has completed or thrown an error for (i=0; i<no_of_events; i++) { // Get pointer to completion handler io_complete = (io_callback_t) events[i].data; // Get pointer to data object iocb = (struct iocb *) events[i].obj; // Call completion handler and pass it the data object io_complete(ctx, iocb, events[i].res, events[i].res2); } } My question is this... Is there a simple way I can prevent the currently active thread from yielding whilst it runs the completion handler rather than going down the mutex/spin lock route? Or failing that can Linux be configured to prevent yielding a pthread when a mutex/spin lock is held?

  • jQuery/ajax working on IIS5.1 but not IIS6

    - by Mikejh99
    I'm running a weird issue here. I have code that makes jquery ajax calls to a web service and dynamically adds controls using jquery. Everything works fine on my dev machine running IIS 5.1, but not when deployed to IIS 6. I'm using VS2010/ASP.Net 4.0, C#, jQuery 1.4.2 and jQuery UI 1.8.1. I'm using the same browser for each. It partially works though. The code will add the controls to the page, but they aren't visible until I click them (they aren't visible though). I thought this was a css issue, but the styles are there too. The ajax calls look like this: $.ajax({ url: "/WebServices/AssetManager.asmx/Assets", type: "POST", datatype: "json", async: false, data: "{'q':'" + req.term + "', 'type':'Condition'}", contentType: "application/javascript; charset=utf-8", success: function (data) { res($.map(data.d, function (item) { return { label: item.Name, value: item.Name, id: item.Id, datatype: item.DataType } })) } }) Changing the content-type makes the autocomplete fail. I've quadruple checked and all the paths are correct, there is no document footer enabled in IIS, and I'm not using IIS compression. Any idea why the page will display and work properly in IIS 5 but only partially in IIS 6? (If it failed completely, that'd make more sense!). Is it a jQuery or CSS issue?

  • How do I solve the .NET CF exception "Can't find PInvoke DLL"?

    - by Ignas Limanauskas
    This is to all the C# gurus. I have been banging my head on this for some time already, tried all kinds of advice on the net with no avail. The action is happening in Windows Mobile 5.0. I have a DLL named MyDll.dll. In the MyDll.h I have: extern "C" __declspec(dllexport) int MyDllFunction(int one, int two); The definition of MyDllFunction in MyDll.cpp is: int MyDllFunction(int one, int two) { return one + two; } The C# class contains the following declaration: [DllImport("MyDll.dll")] extern public static int MyDllFunction(int one, int two); In the same class I am calling MyDllFunction the following way: int res = MyDllFunction(10, 10); And this is where the bloody thing keeps giving me "Can't find PInvoke DLL 'MyDll.dll'". I have verified that I can actually do the PInvoke on system calls, such as "GetAsyncKeyState(1)", declared as: [DllImport("coredll.dll")] protected static extern short GetAsyncKeyState(int vKey); The MyDll.dll is in the same folder as the executable, and I have also tried putting it into the /Windows folder with no changes nor success. Any advice or solutions are greatly appreciated.

  • How to make the TextView invisible when there are items in listView?

    - by Raphael Thomas Liewl
    I like to display textView when there are no items in the listView whereas the textView will not display when there are items in the listView. My problem is even there are items in the listView, the textView still will be displayed in a short time and then load the items into listView. So, how to make the TextView invisible when there are items in listView? Here is the codes: public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstancesState){ super.onCreate(savedInstancesState); setContentView(R.layout.list_screen); user = getIntent().getExtras().getString("user"); Log.d("dg",user); getList(); lv = (ListView) findViewById(android.R.id.list); emptyText = (TextView)findViewById(android.R.id.empty); lv.setEmptyView(emptyText); } list_screen.xml <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <LinearLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="fill_parent" > <ListView android:id="@+id/android:list" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="fill_parent"/> <TextView android:id="@+id/android:empty" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="fill_parent" android:text="@string/no_friend" android:gravity="center_vertical|center_horizontal"/> </LinearLayout>

  • Button text loses allignment after clicking

    - by breathe0
    Strange things happen. I have a 4x4 button table layout, which is the following: <TableLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="fill_parent" android:layout_below="@+id/cerca"> <TableRow android:layout_width = "fill_parent" android:layout_height = "wrap_content"> <Button android:id = "@+id/btn1" android:layout_width = "wrap_content" android:layout_height = "wrap_content" android:layout_weight="1" android:text = "Scarica POI da server" android:onClick="downloadFromServer" /> <Button android:id = "@+id/btn2" android:layout_width = "wrap_content" android:layout_height = "wrap_content" android:layout_weight="1" android:text = "Aggiungi POI" android:onClick="goCreatePOI" /> </TableRow> <TableRow android:layout_width = "fill_parent" android:layout_height = "wrap_content"> <Button android:id = "@+id/btn3" android:layout_width = "wrap_content" android:layout_height = "wrap_content" android:layout_weight="1" android:text = "Rimuovi i POI del server" android:onClick="removeServerPOI" /> <Button android:id = "@+id/btn4" android:layout_width = "wrap_content" android:layout_height = "wrap_content" android:layout_weight="1" android:text = "Rimuovi i POI personali" android:onClick="removePersonalPOI" /> </TableRow> </TableLayout> This table layout is nested inside a relative layout, which is nested in a scrollview. Now, whenever i click on one of them, everytime the text inside the button change allignment: if before clicking was centered and displayed on two lines, after the click it loses its alignment and is displayed only in one row (cutting off some part of the text). Am I doing something wrong, or maybe it's a bug?

  • AndEngine: Black screen when using LayoutGameActivity

    - by Lemuel Hogben
    I used to use SimpleBaseGameActivity for my app and everything was ok, but now I want to add some ads into the app, so I tried to use LayoutGameActivity. But I get the screen completely black and I don't know why. That's my code: public class AcGame extends LayoutGameActivity { [...] @Override protected int getLayoutID() { return R.layout.ad; } @Override protected int getRenderSurfaceViewID() { return R.id.layout_render; } @Override public EngineOptions onCreateEngineOptions() { [...] return new EngineOptions(true, ScreenOrientation.PORTRAIT_FIXED, resolution, camera); } @Override public void onCreateResources(OnCreateResourcesCallback pOnCreateResourcesCallback) throws Exception { createResources(); pOnCreateResourcesCallback.onCreateResourcesFinished(); } @Override public void onCreateScene(OnCreateSceneCallback pOnCreateSceneCallback) throws Exception { pOnCreateSceneCallback.onCreateSceneFinished(createScene()); } @Override public void onPopulateScene(Scene pScene, OnPopulateSceneCallback pOnPopulateSceneCallback) throws Exception { pOnPopulateSceneCallback.onPopulateSceneFinished(); } And that's my layout: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <LinearLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="fill_parent"> <LinearLayout android:orientation="vertical" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:gravity="top" android:id="@+id/layout_ad" > <Button android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="fill_parent" android:text="Ad Sample"/> </LinearLayout> <org.andengine.opengl.view.RenderSurfaceView android:orientation="vertical" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="fill_parent" android:gravity="center" android:id="@+id/layout_render" /> </LinearLayout> When I'm trying to debug, I can see that EngineOptions are creating, but no one of the LayoutGameActivity's methods was called (onCreateResources, onCreateScene or onPopulateScene). Can someone tell me what I've missed?

  • Android -- SDK/IDE Layout Bug (w/Custom Layouts)??

    - by borg17of20
    Hello all, Can someone tell me if this is a bug in the SDK/IDE: Any custom or extended layout I add to my layout XML causes the IDE to ignore the fact that there are any child views of that layout (they just disappear from the outline view/window), thus making them uneditable via the properties view/window. (I need to extend a layout to make onSetAlpha() public) FYI: I'm developing for Android 1.5 and up, using all the latest plug-ins/updates in Eclipse Here is a simple example of a layout XML and the extended Layout that causes this error. [Extended Layout] package com.test; public class CustomLinearLayout extends LinearLayout { public CustomLinearLayout(Context context, AttributeSet attrs) { super(context, attrs); } public CustomLinearLayout(Context context) { super(context); } } [Simple layout XML] <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <com.test.CustomLinearLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content"> <ImageView android:id="@+id/ImageView01" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content"></ImageView> </com.test.CustomLinearLayout> ImageView01 is not visible or editable in the properties or outline views/windows. Thanks.

  • ListView in Android, handler for clicking item

    Hello, I have an activity in Android which uses a ListView. When I click on an item in the ListView, I would like to be able to determine which item was clicked. I have the following code: @Override public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); setRequestedOrientation (ActivityInfo.SCREEN_ORIENTATION_PORTRAIT); setContentView(R.layout.listr); //setupDB(); // populateList3(); ListView lv = (ListView) findViewById(R.id.ListView01); lv.setClickable(true); lv.setOnItemClickListener(new OnItemClickListener() { public void onItemClick(AdapterView<?> parent, View view, int position, long id) { Toast.makeText(ListRecords.this,"Clicked!", Toast.LENGTH_LONG).show(); } }); } My XML code: xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:id="@+id/Linear03lr" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:orientation="vertical" android:gravity="center" android:layout_height="fill_parent"> android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="400dp" / <Button android:id="@+id/previousbutton" android:gravity="center_horizontal" android:layout_width = "fill_parent" android:layout_height = "fill_parent" android:text="Previous Menu"/> </LinearLayout> What am I missing here to be able to intercept clicks on the Listview? Thanks

  • ViewGroup{TextView,...}.getMeasuredHeight gives wrong value is smaller than real height.

    - by Dewr
    ViewGroup(the ViewGroup is containing TextViews having long text except line-feed-character).getMeasuredHeight returns wrong value... that is smaller than real height. how to get rid of this problem? here is the java code: ;public static void setListViewHeightBasedOnChildren(ListView listView) { ListAdapter listAdapter = listView.getAdapter(); if (listAdapter == null) { // pre-condition return; } int totalHeight = 0; int count = listAdapter.getCount(); for (int i = 0; i < count; i++) { View listItem = listAdapter.getView(i, null, listView); listItem.measure(View.MeasureSpec.AT_MOST, View.MeasureSpec.UNSPECIFIED); totalHeight += listItem.getMeasuredHeight(); } ViewGroup.LayoutParams params = listView.getLayoutParams(); params.height = totalHeight + (listView.getDividerHeight() * (listAdapter.getCount() - 1)); listView.setLayoutParams(params); } ; and here is the list_item_comments.xml:; {RelativeLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="fill_parent" } {RelativeLayout android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:layout_centerVertical="true" android:layout_marginLeft="8dip" android:layout_marginRight="8dip" } {TextView android:id="@+id/list_item_comments_nick" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:textSize="16sp" style="@style/WhiteText" /} {TextView android:id="@+id/list_item_comments_time" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:layout_alignParentRight="true" android:textSize="16sp" style="@style/WhiteText" /} {TextView android:id="@+id/list_item_comments_content" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:layout_below="@id/list_item_comments_nick" android:autoLink="all" android:textSize="24sp" style="@style/WhiteText" /} {/RelativeLayout} {/RelativeLayout} ;

  • How to align Button to the right, without being overlapped by TextView?

    - by Kilnr
    Hello, I'm trying to get something like this: http://img202.imageshack.us/img202/552/layoutoy.png. I'm using this as a list item (technically as the group view of an ExpandableListView). Here's the XML file: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <RelativeLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:orientation="horizontal" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="?android:attr/listPreferredItemHeight"> <TextView android:id="@+id/list_item_text" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:ellipsize="end" /> <Button android:id="@+id/list_item_button" android:text="Click me!" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:layout_alignParentRight="true" android:layout_toRightOf="@id/list_item_text" /> </RelativeLayout> But this doesn't work. The Button doesn't wrap its contents, instead it uses all available horizontal space. The TextView does wrap its contents, but what I want it to do is to cut off when it overlaps the Button. In other words, I want all the buttons to be of the same width, regardless of the amount of text in the textviews. Is this at all possible?

  • OnClickListener onClick=true and selector

    - by azerto00
    I have not found any answer for my problem, so I need your help ... I have an LinearLayout which I want to be clickable in order to lunch another activity. So I implement an onClickListener to it. I created an selector for this LinearLayout in order that what someone click on it, the background change. I just don't understand that : If my LinearLayout doesn't have android:clickable="true" in the xml, I'm able to click on it and get what I want but the selector doesn't work. If I remove this line, it is the opposite .. the selector work but not the onClick event. So, can anyone can explain me why ? Just in case, here is my the content of my selector file : <selector xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"> <item android:drawable="@drawable/btn_restaurants_background_state_pressed" android:state_pressed="true"></item> <item android:drawable="@drawable/btn_restaurants_background_state_pressed" android:state_focused="true"></item> <item android:drawable="@drawable/btn_restaurants_background_state_pressed" android:state_selected="true"></item> <item android:drawable="@drawable/btn_restaurants_background_state_normal"></item> </selector> Thanks you in advance
