  • Auto Generated - CREATE Table Script in SQL 2008 throws error

    - by jack
    I scripted the tables in my dev database using SQL 2008 - generate scripts option (Datbase-right click-Tasks-Generate Scripts) and ran it on the staging database, but the script throws the below error for each table Msg 102, Level 15, State 1, Line 1 Incorrect syntax near '('. Msg 319, Level 15, State 1, Line 15 Incorrect syntax near the keyword 'with'. If this statement is a common table expression, an xmlnamespaces clause or a change tracking context clause, the previous statement must be terminated with a semicolon. Below is the script for one of my table ALTER TABLE [dbo].[Customer]( [CustomerID] [int] IDENTITY(1,1) NOT NULL, [FirstName] [nvarchar](500) NULL, [LastName] [nvarchar](500) NULL, [DateOfBirth] [datetime] NULL, [EmailID] [nvarchar](200) NULL, [ContactForOffers] [bit] NULL, CONSTRAINT [PK_Customer] PRIMARY KEY CLUSTERED ( [CustomerID] ASC )WITH (PAD_INDEX = OFF, STATISTICS_NORECOMPUTE = OFF, IGNORE_DUP_KEY = OFF, ALLOW_ROW_LOCKS = ON, ALLOW_PAGE_LOCKS = ON) ON [PRIMARY] ) ON [PRIMARY] GO Any help will be much appreciated.

  • opening a new page and passing a parameter to it with Javascript

    - by recipriversexclusion
    I have a JS function that processes XML I GET from a server to dynamically create a table as below // Generate table of services by parsing the returned XML service list. function convertServiceXmlDataToTable(xml) { var tbodyElem = document.getElementById("myTbody"); var trElem, tdElem; var j = 0; $(xml).find("Service").each(function() { trElem = tbodyElem.insertRow(tbodyElem.rows.length); trElem.className = "tr" + (j % 2); // first column -> service ID var serviceID = $(this).attr("service__id"); tdElem = trElem.insertCell(trElem.cells.length); tdElem.className = "col0"; tdElem.innerHTML = serviceID; // second column -> service name tdElem = trElem.insertCell(trElem.cells.length); tdElem.className = "col1"; tdElem.innerHTML = "<a href=javascript:showServiceInfo(" + serviceID + ")>" + $(this).find("name").text() + "</a>"; j++; }); // each service } where showServiceInfo retrieves more detailed information about each service from the server based on the serviceID and displays it in the same page as the services table. So far so good. But, it turns out that I have to display the detailed service information in another page rather than the same page as the table. I have creates a generic service_info.html with an empty layout template, but I don't understand how to pass serviceID to this new page so that it gets customized with the detailed service info. How can I do this? Or, is there a better way to handle these situations? Thanks!

  • Using a set of numbers inside a database without creating a temporary table

    - by Zizzencs
    I have a set of numbers and a table in a database with the id (primary key) and text (not null) columns. I would like to create a query that returns all the numbers in the set and the associated text from the table. Unfortunately not all numbers exist in the database's id column, so this won't work: select id, text from table where id in (<set of numbers>) For the non-existing ids the best would be to return null as the text from the query. Is there a way to produce the desired output without first creating a temporary table from the set inside the database? The database engine in use is a Microsoft SQL Server 2008 SP1 but I'd be interested in any solution with any database engine.

  • iphone indexed table view problem

    - by steveY
    I have a table view in which I'm using sectionIndexTitlesForTableView to display an index. However, when I scroll the table, the index scrolls with it. This also results in very slow refreshing of the table. Is there something obvious I could be doing wrong? I want the index to remain in place on the right while the table scrolls. This is the code I'm using for the index titles: - (NSArray *)sectionIndexTitlesForTableView:(UITableView *)tableView { NSMutableArray *tempArray = [[NSMutableArray alloc] init]; [tempArray addObject:@"A"]; [tempArray addObject:@"B"]; [tempArray addObject:@"C"]; [tempArray addObject:@"D"]; ... return tempArray; }

  • MSSQL: Views that use SELECT * need to be recreated if the underlying table changes

    - by cbp
    Is there a way to make views that use SELECT * stay in sync with the underlying table. What I have discovered is that if changes are made to the underlying table, from which all columns are to be selected, the view needs to be 'recreated'. This can be achieved simly by running an ALTER VIEW statement. However this can lead to some pretty dangerous situations. If you forgot to recreate the view, it will not be returning the correct data. In fact it can be returning seriously messed up data - with the names of the columns all wrong and out of order. Nothing will pick up that the view is wrong unless you happened to have it covered by a test, or a data integrity check fails. For example, Red Gate SQL Compare doesn't pick up the fact that the view needs to be recreated. To replicate the problem, try these statements: CREATE TABLE Foobar (Bar varchar(20)) CREATE VIEW v_Foobar AS SELECT * FROM Foobar INSERT INTO Foobar (Bar) VALUES ('Hi there') SELECT * FROM v_Foobar ALTER TABLE Foobar ADD Baz varchar(20) SELECT * FROM v_Foobar DROP VIEW v_Foobar DROP TABLE Foobar I am tempted to stop using SELECT * in views, which will be a PITA. Is there a setting somewhere perhaps that could fix this behaviour?

  • Vertically align a heading and a paragraph in a div

    - by davey
    I'm trying to vertically align a h1 element and p in the middle of a div floated left but they end up next to each other vertically aligned. Im pretty sure it to do with the table-cell display but don't know how to vertically align without it. my code gives me: . . Heading Paragraph . . I want: . . Heading Paragraph . . heres my code: CSS: #HDRtext { float: left; width: 30%; height: 335px; padding: 0; display: table; color: white; } #HDRtext h1 { font-family: Georgia; font-size: 2em; display: table-cell; vertical-align: middle; } #HDRtext p { display: table-cell; vertical-align: middle; font-size:1em; font-family: Georgia; }

  • Refactor link to show/hide a table row

    - by abatishchev
    I have a table with row which cab be hidden by user. It's implemented this way: Markup: <table> <tr> <td> <table style="margin-left: auto; text-align: right;"> <tr> <td class="stats-hide"> <a href="#" onclick="hideStats();">Hide</a> </td> <td class="stats-show" style="display: none;"> <a href="#" onclick="showStats();">Show</a> </td> </tr> </table> </td> </tr> <tr class="stats-hide"> <td> <!-- data --> </td> </tr> </table> And jQuery code: <script type="text/javascript" language="javascript"> function hideStats() { hideControls(true, $('.stats-hide')); hideControls(false, $('.stats-show')); } function showStats() { hideControls(false, $('.stats-hide')); hideControls(true, $('.stats-show')); } function hideControls(value, arr) { $(arr).each(function () { if (value) { $(this).hide(); } else { $(this).show(); } }); } </script> How to implement the same behavior with one, single link and one, probably, CSS class? My idea - store somewhere a boolean variable and toggle controls visibility relatively to this variable. Are there more?

  • Validating Column Data Stored as CSV Against Another Table

    - by Jakkwylde
    I wanted to see what some suggested approaches would be to validate a field that is stored as a CSV against a table containing appropriate values. Althought it would be desired, it is NOT an option to split the CSV list into another related table. In the example data below I would be trying to capture the code 99 for widget A. Below is an example data representation. Table: Widgets WidgetName WidgetCodeList A 1, 2, 3 B 1 C 2, 3 D 99 Table: WidgetCodes WidgetCode 1 2 3 An earlier approach was to query the CSV column as rows using various string manipulations and CONNECT_BY_LEVEL however the performance was not acceptible.

  • Adding a new column to Table which contains live data

    - by Ardman
    I have a large table consisting of over 60 millions records and I would like to add 2 new columns for data migration purposes. There are indexes on the table and some of them are large. So, by me adding the 2 new columns to the table, will I run the risk of slowing down the database whilst it attempts to add them and maybe time-out? Or will it just work? I know that if I try and rearrange the columns SQL Server will ask me to drop and re-create the table, so I definately don't want this. Is this something everyone is challenged with?

  • Update table without using cursor and on date

    - by Muhammad Kashif Nadeem
    Please copy and run following script DECLARE @Customers TABLE (CustomerId INT) DECLARE @Orders TABLE ( OrderId INT, CustomerId INT, OrderDate DATETIME ) DECLARE @Calls TABLE (CallId INT, CallTime DATETIME, CallToId INT, OrderId INT) ----------------------------------------------------------------- INSERT INTO @Customers SELECT 1 INSERT INTO @Customers SELECT 2 ----------------------------------------------------------------- INSERT INTO @Orders SELECT 10, 1, DATEADD(d, -20, GETDATE()) INSERT INTO @Orders SELECT 11, 1, DATEADD(d, -10, GETDATE()) ----------------------------------------------------------------- INSERT INTO @Calls SELECT 101, DATEADD(d, -19, GETDATE()), 1, NULL INSERT INTO @Calls SELECT 102, DATEADD(d, -17, GETDATE()), 1, NULL INSERT INTO @Calls SELECT 103, DATEADD(d, -9, GETDATE()), 1, NULL INSERT INTO @Calls SELECT 104, DATEADD(d, -6, GETDATE()), 1, NULL INSERT INTO @Calls SELECT 105, DATEADD(d, -5, GETDATE()), 1, NULL ----------------------------------------------------------------- I want to update @Calls table and need following results. I am using the following query UPDATE @Calls SET OrderId = ( CASE WHEN (s.CallTime > e.OrderDate) THEN e.OrderId END ) FROM @Calls s INNER JOIN @Orders e ON s.CallToId = e.CustomerId and the result of my query is not what I need. Requirement: As you can see there are two orders. One is on 2010-12-12 and one is on 2010-12-22. I want to update @Calls table with relevant OrderId with respect to CallTime. In short If subsequent Orders are added, and there are further calls then we assume that a new call is associated with the most recent Order Note: This is sample data so this is not the case that I always have two Orders. There might be 10+ Orders and 100+ calls. Note2 I could not find good title for this question. Please change it if you think of any better. Thanks.

  • Cant seem to get CSS working on an appended table

    - by battlenub
    I have an ajax request to a php file returning me rows of 3 values each. I want to append these into a table. This works. I get my info in my table but I can't seem to add classes or id's and get some styling on it. http://jsfiddle.net/AKh4n/1/ success : function(data) { $('#lijstbeh').empty(); var data2 = jQuery.parseJSON(data); $('#lijstbeh').append('<table class="table">'); $('#lijstbeh').append('<tr>'); $('#lijstbeh').append('<th>Behandeling ID</th>'); $('#lijstbeh').append('<th>Behandeling kort</th>'); $('#lijstbeh').append('<th>Behandeling datum</th>'); $('#lijstbeh').append('</tr>'); $.each (data2,function (bb) { $('#lijstbeh').append('<tr class="tblbehandelingen">'); $('#lijstbeh').append('<td>' + data2[bb].BEH_ID + '</td>'); $('#lijstbeh').append('<td>' + data2[bb].BEH_behandelingkort + '</td>'); $('#lijstbeh').append('<td>' + data2[bb].BEH_datum + '</td>'); $('#lijstbeh').append('</tr>'); }); $('#lijstbeh').append('</table>'); }

  • Normalise this Table?

    - by Abs
    Hello all, I am creating a social bookmarking app. I am having a re-thought of the DB design in the middle of development. Should I normalise the bookmarks table and remove the tag columns that I have into a separate table. I have 10 tags per bookmark and therefore 10 columns per record (per bookmark). It seems to me that breaking the table into two would just mean I would have to do a join but the way I currently have it, its a straight select - but the table doesn't feel right...? Thanks all

  • What's the proper workaround for creating a div with a table in it with images in the table?

    - by Noor
    I want this: <div id="display"> <div id="slideshow1"> <table cellspacing=0><tr><td style="height:200px;padding:0;vertical-align:middle"> <img ... /> </td></tr></table> </div> </div> And I'm using this: var thelistt = localStorage.getItem('thelist') var trt = document.createElement("div"); trt.setAttribute("Id","slideshow1"); trt.className="pics"; $('#display').append(trt); var tble = document.createElement("table"); tble.setAttribute("cellspacing","0"); tble.innerHTML = "<tr><td style='height:200px;padding:0;vertical-align:middle'>"; $('#slideshow1').append(tble); trt.innerHTML += thelistt; This creates a div, then a table, closes the table, then images, then closes div.. Isn't there a smoother way to not do all this, if someone'd take a look at my current code i''m sure you'd get a good laugh : http://hem.bredband.net/noor/bildspelet3.html (you need to click on edit and put in two or more urls directly to images)

  • Dynamic evaluation of a table column within an insert before trigger

    - by Tim Garver
    HI All, I have 3 tables, main, types and linked. main has an id column and 32 type columns. types has id, type linked has id, main_id, type_id I want to create an insert before trigger on the main table. It needs to compare its 32 type columns to the values in the types table if the main table column has an 'X' for its value and insert the main_id and types_id into the linked table. i have done a lot of searching, and it looks like a prepared statement would be the way to go, but i wanted to ask the experts. The issue, is i dont want to write 32 IF statements, and even if i did, i need to query the types table to get the ID for that type, seems like a huge waist of resources. Ideally i want to do this inside of my trigger: BEGIN DECLARE @types results_set -- (not sure if this is a valid type); -- (iam sure my loop syntax is all wrong here)... SET @types = (select * from types) for i=0;i<types.records;i++ { IF NEW.[i.type] = 'X' THEN insert into linked (main_id,type_id) values (new.ID, i.id); END IF; } END; Anyway, This is what i was hoping to do, maybe there is a way to dynamically set the field name inside of a results loop, but i cant find a good example of this. Thanks in advance Tim

  • javascript hide/show tabs using JQuery

    - by JohnMerlino
    Hey all, I have a quick question of how I can use jquery tabs (you click on link button to display/hide certain divs). The div id matches the href of the link: HTML links: <table class='layout tabs'> <tr> <td><a href="#site">Site</a></td> <td><a href="#siteno">Number</a></td> </tr> <tr> <td><a href="#student">Student</a></td> <td><a href="#school">School</a></td> </tr> </table> </div> div that needs to display/hide: <div id="site"> <table class='explore'> <thead class='ui-widget-header'> <tr> <th class=' sortable'> Site </th> <th class=' sortable'> Number </th> </tr> </thead> </table> </div> Thanks for any response.

  • Display two array's in the same table

    - by Naeem Ahmed
    $row = $query->fetchAll(PDO::FETCH_ASSOC); $num_rows = count($row); for ($i = 0; $i < $num_rows; $i++) { $title = htmlspecialchars($row[$i]['title']); $author =htmlspecialchars($row[$i]['author']); $school =htmlspecialchars($row[$i]['school']); $solution = $row[$i]['solution']; $notes = $row[$i]['notes']; $ad = array($title, $price, $author, $school, $contact, $content, $date); $inlcude = array($solutions, $notes); $field = 0; echo "<table border='1'>"; // foreach($inlcude as $in) This failled miserably foreach ($ad as $post) { if ($field < 3) //The first three values are placed in the first row { echo "<td>$post</td>"; } if ($field >= 3) { echo "<tr><td>$post</td><td>$in</td></tr>"; } $field++; } echo '</table>'; } I have two arrays and I would like to display them in different columns in my table. $ad displays perfectly fine but I'm having trouble displaying the contents in $inlcude in the second column. I've tried putting another foreach loop to iterate through contents of the second array but that really screws up my table by placing random values in different places on the table. Besides the foreach loop, I don't know of any other way to iterate through the array. Any suggestions would be appreciated.Thanks!

  • Creating an enum/class from a Database Table

    - by Mark
    I have a database table that essentially contains different types of things. I'll use animals as an example. I have a table called AnimalTypes: AnimalTypes { ID:int, Name:string } I then populate it with: 1:Dog, 2:Cat, 3:Fish I would like to then have some sort of C# object created that functions similar to this enum be entirely read from the database: enum AnimalTypes { Dog = 1, Cat = 2, Fish = 3 } Is there a way to create an enum/class from a database table as described? I basically want to be able to reference things in the AnimalTypes table using intellisense and AnimalTypes.Dog as an example; I don't actually need an enum, just something that kind of functions like one. Is this possible? Edit: I'm not really that thrilled about generating a DLL as I've seen in other related problems. I feel like this should be possible with reflection.

  • Resources about Excel tables and structured references?

    - by jtolle
    I'm new to Excel-post-2000, and I'd like to learn more about how to use tables (formerly lists) and structured references. Can anyone point me to some good treatments of this topic that go beyond the help? (For example, there are numerous full books about just pivot tables. Something like that for using table would be ideal.)

  • Updating table takes very long time

    - by rrejc
    Hi all, I have a table in MsSQL Server 2008 (SP2) containing 30 millios of rows, table size 150GB, there are a couple of int columns and two nvarchar(max) columns: one containing text (from 1-30000 characters) and one containg xml (up to 100000 characters). Table doesn't have any primary keys or indexes (its is a staging table). So atm I am running a query: UPDATE [dbo].[stage_table] SET [column2] = SUBSTRING([column1], 1, CHARINDEX('.', [column1])-1); the query is running for 3 hours (and it is still not completed), which I think is too long. Is It? I can see that there is constant read rate of 5MB/s and write rate of 10MB/s to .mdf file. How can I find out why the query is running so long? The "server" is i7, 24GB of ram, SATA disks on RAID 10. Many thanks!
