  • Render view as string then redirect.

    - by JohnRudolfLewis
    In my ASP.NET MVC application, I would like my controller action to render a view to a string, send an email using that string as the body, then do a redirect. I've found several articles here on SO and elsewhere on how to render the view to a string. That part was easy. But when I attempt to perform the redirect, I get an HttpException: Cannot redirect after HTTP headers have been sent. I've tried setting Response.Buffer and Response.BufferOutput to true, I've tried Response.Clear, nothing seems to work. Is it possible to render a view to a string, then do a redirect?

  • Write a function that returns the longest palindrome in a given string. e.g "ccddcc" in the string "

    - by Learner
    I thought of a solution but it runs in O(n^2) time Algo 1: Steps: Its a brute force method Have 2 for loops for i = 1 to i less than array.length -1 for j=i+1 to j less than array.length This way you can get substring of every possible combination from the array Have a palindrome function which checks if a string is palindrome so for every substring (i,j) call this function, if it is a palindrome store it in a string variable If you find next palindrome substring and if it is greater than the current one, replace it with current one. Finally your string variable will have the answer Issues: 1. This algo runs in O(n^2) time. Algo 2: Reverse the string and store it in diferent array Now find the largest matching substring between both the array But this too runs in O(n^2) time Can you guys think of an algo which runs in a better time. If possible O(n) time

  • String to datetime

    - by SARAVAN
    I have a string 12012009 input by the user in ASP.NET MVC application. I wanted to convert this to a DateTime. But if I do DateTime.TryParse("12012009", out outDateTime); it returns a false. So I tried to convert 12012009 to 12/01/2009 and then do DateTime.TryParse("12/01/2009", out outDateTime); which will work But I don't find any straight forward method to convert string 12012009 to string "12/01/2009". Any ideas?

  • How to covert UTF8 string to UTF16 in JNI

    - by Er Rahul Rajkumar Gupta
    Can anyone please tell me that what is going on wrong with me in this code.Actually in following line of codes I am taking the path of sdcard in a string in jni (C code) and in concatenate function concatenating these manually using loop.The string returned by concatenate works fine but when I am converting it to jstring it prints garbage value in my logcat. Kindly tell me what is the problem. jstring str=(jstring)env->CallObjectMethod(sdcard,storagestring); const char jclass cfile=env->FindClass("java/io/File"); jmethodID fileid=env->GetMethodID(cfile,"<init>","(Ljava/lang/String;)V"); jclass envir=env->FindClass("android/os/Environment"); jmethodID storageid=env->GetStaticMethodID(envir,"getExternalStorageDirectory","()Ljava/io/File;"); jobject sdcard=env->CallStaticObjectMethod(envir,storageid); jclass sdc=env->GetObjectClass(sdcard); jmethodID storagestring=env->GetMethodID(sdc,"toString","()Ljava/lang/String;"); *nativeString = env->GetStringUTFChars(str, 0); char *s =concatenate(nativeString,"/f1.3gp"); //fpath=s; fpath=env->NewStringUTF(s); jobject fobject=env->NewObject(cfile,fileid,fpath); LOGI("size of char=%d size of string=%d",sizeof("/f1.3gp"),sizeof(fpath)); jmethodID existid=env->GetMethodID(cfile,"exists","()Z"); if(env->CallBooleanMethod(fobject,existid)) { jmethodID delid=env->GetMethodID(cfile,"delete","()Z"); if(env->CallBooleanMethod(fobject,delid)) LOGE("File is deleting...%s",env->NewStringUTF("/f1.3gp")); } jmethodID newfileid=env->GetMethodID(cfile,"createNewFile","()Z"); if(env->CallBooleanMethod(fobject,newfileid)) LOGE("dig dig %s",fpath); jthrowable exc=env->ExceptionOccurred(); if(exc) { env->ExceptionDescribe(); env->ExceptionClear(); } LOGE("creating file %s",fpath); }

  • How to convert from hex-encoded string to a "human readable" string?

    - by John Jensen
    I'm using the Net-SNMP bindings for python and I'm attempting to grab an ARP cache from a Brocade switch. Here's what my code looks like: #!/usr/bin/env python import netsnmp def get_arp(): oid = netsnmp.VarList(netsnmp.Varbind('ipNetToMediaPhysAddress')) res = netsnmp.snmpwalk(oid, Version=2, DestHost='10.0.1.243', Community='public') return res arp_table = get_arp() print arp_table The SNMP code itself is working fine. Output from snmpwalk looks like this: <snip> IP-MIB::ipNetToMediaPhysAddress.128.10.200.6.158 = STRING: 0:1b:ed:a3:ec:c1 IP-MIB::ipNetToMediaPhysAddress.129.10.200.6.162 = STRING: 0:1b:ed:a4:ac:c1 IP-MIB::ipNetToMediaPhysAddress.130.10.200.6.166 = STRING: 0:1b:ed:38:24:1 IP-MIB::ipNetToMediaPhysAddress.131.10.200.6.170 = STRING: 74:8e:f8:62:84:1 </snip> But my output from the python script yields a tuple of hex-encoded strings that looks like this: ('\x00$8C\x98\xc1', '\x00\x1b\xed;_A', '\x00\x1b\xed\xb4\x8f\x81', '\x00$86\x15\x81', '\x00$8C\x98\x81', '\x00\x1b\xed\x9f\xadA', ...etc) I've spent some time googling and came across the struct module and the .decode("hex") string method, but the .decode("hex") method doesn't seem to work: Python 2.7.3 (default, Apr 10 2013, 06:20:15) [GCC 4.6.3] on linux2 Type "help", "copyright", "credits" or "license" for more information. >>> hexstring = '\x00$8C\x98\xc1' >>> newstring = hexstring.decode("hex") Traceback (most recent call last): File "<stdin>", line 1, in <module> File "/usr/lib/python2.7/encodings/hex_codec.py", line 42, in hex_decode output = binascii.a2b_hex(input) TypeError: Non-hexadecimal digit found >>> And the documentation for struct is a bit over my head.

  • What's wrong with this JAVA code for android?

    - by Umair Ashraf
    I have written this piece of code to break an image into 9 pieces and it gives me runtime error. There is no error in LogCat and I am stuck. The error comes at line 7 line from bottom (Bitmap.createBitmap(...);). public Bitmap[] getPieces(Bitmap bmp) { Bitmap[] bmps = new Bitmap[9]; int width = bmp.getWidth(); int height = bmp.getHeight(); int rows = 3; int cols = 3; int cellHeight = height / rows; int cellWidth = width / cols; int piece = 0; for (int x = 0; x <= width; x += cellWidth) { for (int y = 0; y <= height; y += cellHeight) { Bitmap b = Bitmap.createBitmap(bmp, x, y, cellWidth, cellHeight, null, false); bmps[piece] = b; piece++; } } return bmps; }

  • Why is a 16-bit register used with BSR instruction in this code snippet?

    - by sharptooth
    In this hardcore article there's a function find_maskwidth() that basically detects the number of bits required to represent itemCount dictinct values: unsigned int find_maskwidth( unsigned int itemCount ) { unsigned int maskWidth, count = itemCount; __asm { mov eax, count mov ecx, 0 mov maskWidth, ecx dec eax bsr cx, ax jz next inc cx mov maskWidth, ecx next: } return maskWidth; } the question is why do they use ax and cx registers instead of eax and ecx?

  • java.util.BitSet -- set() doesn't work as expected

    - by dwhsix
    Am I missing something painfully obvious? Or does just nobody in the world actually use java.util.BitSet? The following test fails: @Test public void testBitSet() throws Exception { BitSet b = new BitSet(); b.set(0, true); b.set(1, false); assertEquals(2, b.length()); } It's really unclear to me why I don't end up with a BitSet of length 2 and the value 10. I peeked at the source for java.util.BitSet, and on casual inspection it seems to fail to make sufficient distinction between a bit that's been set false and a bit that has never been set to any value... (Note that explicitly setting the size of the BitSet in the constructor has no effect, e.g.: BitSet b = new BitSet(2);

  • Replacing accented/umlauted characters with their unadorned counterparts in C# [closed]

    - by Andrew Rollings
    Duplicate of 249087 I have a bunch of user generated addresses that may contain characters with diacritic marks. What is the most effective (i.e. generic) way (apart from a straightforward replace) to automatically convert any such characters to their closest English equivalent? E.g. any of àâãäå would become a æ would become the two separate letters ae ç would become c any of èéêë would become e etc. for all possible letter variations (preferably without having to find and encode lookups for each diacritic form of the letter). (Note: I have to pass these addresses on to third party software that is incapable of printing anything other than English characters. I'd rather the software was capable of handling them, but I have no control over that.) EDIT: Never mind... Found the answer [here][2]. It showed up in the "Related" section to the right of the question after I posted, but not in my prior search or as a pre-post suggestion. Hmm. I added the 'diacritics' tag to the other question in any case. EDIT 2: Jeez! Who voted this -1 after I closed it?

  • Changing href atributes with nokogiri and ruby on rails

    - by fool
    Hi, I Have a HTML document with links links, for exemple: <html> <body> <ul> <li><a href="http://someurl.com/etc/etc">teste1</a></li> <li><a href="http://someurl.com/etc/etc">teste2</a></li> <li><a href="http://someurl.com/etc/etc">teste3</a></li> <ul> </body> </html> I want with Ruby on Rails, with nokogiri or some other method, to have a final doc like this: <html> <body> <ul> <li><a href="http://myproxy.com/?url=http://someurl.com/etc/etc">teste1</a></li> <li><a href="http://myproxy.com/?url=http://someurl.com/etc/etc">teste2</a></li> <li><a href="http://myproxy.com/?url=http://someurl.com/etc/etc">teste3</a></li> <ul> </body> </html> What's the best strategy to achieve this?

  • PHP manipulating multidimensional array values

    - by Joker
    I have a result set as an array from a database that looks like: array ( 0 => array ( "a" => "something" "b" => "something" "c" => "something" ) 1 => array ( "a" => "something" "b" => "something" "c" => "something" ) 2 => array ( "a" => "something" "b" => "something" "c" => "something" ) ) How would I apply a function to replace the values of an array only on the array key with b? Normally I would just rebuild a new array with a foreach loop and apply the function if the array key is b, but I'm not sure if it's the best way. I've tried taking a look at many array functions and it seemed like array_walk_recursive is something I might use, but I didn't have luck in getting it to do what I want. If I'm not describing it well enough, basically I want to be able to do as the code below does: $arr = array(); foreach ($result as $key => $value) { foreach ($value as $key2 => $value2) { $arr[$key][$key2] = ($key2 == 'b' ? $this->_my_method($value2) : $value2); } } Should I stick with that, or is there a better way?

  • Having issue Deserializing array from an XML string

    - by LeeHull
    I'm having issues trying to deserializing my xml string that was from a dataset.. Here is the XML layout.. <DataSet> <User> <UserName>Test</UserName> <Email>[email protected]</Email> <Details> <ID>1</ID> <Name>TestDetails</Name> <Value>1</Value> </Details <Details> <ID>2</ID> <Name>Testing</Name> <Value>3</Value> </Details </User> </DataSet> Now I am able to deserialize the "UserName" and "Email" when doing public class User { public string UserName {get;set;} public string Email {get;set;} public Details[] Details {get;set;} } public class Details { public int ID {get;set;} public string Name {get;set;} public string Value {get;set;} } This deserializes fine when I just get the user node, the Details isnt null but has no items in it.. i know I am suppose to have between all the details but I rather not modify the XML, anyways to get this to deserialize properly without recreating the XML after I get it?

  • Image bit depth values.

    - by pencilslate
    REPHRASED QUESTION: I am coming up with a list of possible image bit depth values that could be used as a predefined reference list in my application. I could think of 8,16,24 and 32 bit depths. The image formats considered are BMP, JPEG, PNG and GIF. I understand the bit depth decides the quality and thereby the storage requirements for the image. The application is used to store user uploaded images(non-medical, non-DICOM). Are there more bit depths other than the ones mentioned above that i should be including in my list? Are there any stats on the usage of the images with bit depths? Appreciate your response!

  • Create class instance in assembly from string name

    - by Arcadian
    I'm not sure if this is possible, and I'm quite new to using assemblies in C#.NET. What I would like to do is to create an instance of a class when supplied the string name of that class. Something like this: using MyAssembly; namespace MyNameSpace { Class MyClass { int MyValue1; int MyValue2; public MyClass(string myTypeName) { foreach(Type type in MyAssembly) { if((string)type == myTypeName) { //create a new instance of the type } } AssignInitialValues(//the type created above) } //Here I use an abstract type which the type above inherits from private void AssignInitialValues(AbstractType myClass) { this.value1 = myClass.value1; this.value2 = myClass.value2; } } } Obviously you cannot compare strings to types but it illustrates what I'm trying to do: create a type from a supplied string. Any thoughts? EDIT: After attempting: var myObject = (AbstractType) Activator.CreateInstance(null, myTypeName); AssignInitialValues(myObject); I get a number of errors: Inconsistent accessibility: parameter type 'MyAssembly.AbstractType' is less accessible than method 'MyNameSpace.MyClass.AssignInitialValues(MyAssembly.AstractType)' 'MyAssembly.AstractType' is inaccessible due to it's protection level The type or namespace name 'MyAssembly' could not be found (are you missing a using directive or an assembly reference?) The type or namespace name 'AbstractType' could not be found (are you missing a using directive or an assembly reference?) Not exactly sure why it can't find the assembly; I've added a reference to the assembly and I use a Using Directive for the namespace in the assembly. As for the protection level, it's calling classes (or rather the constructors of classes) which can only be public. Any clues on where the problem is? UPDATE: After looking through several articles on SO I came across this: http://stackoverflow.com/a/1632609/360627 Making the AbstractTypeclass public solved the issue of inconsistent accessibility. The new compiler error is this: Cannot convert type 'System.Runtime.Remoting.ObjectHandle' to 'MyAssembly.AbstractType' The line it references is this one: var myObject = (AbstractType) Activator.CreateInstance(null, myTypeName); Using .Unwrap() get's me past this error and I think it's the right way to do it (uncertain). However, when running the program I then get a TypeLoadException when this code is called. TypeLoadException: Could not load type ‘AbstractType’ from assembly ‘MyNameSpace'... Right away I can spot that the type its looking for is correct but the assembly it's looking in is wrong. Looking up the Activator.CreateInstance(String, String) method revealed that the null as the first argument means that the method will look in the executing assembly. This is contrary to the required behavior as in the original post. I've tried using MyAssembly as the first argument but this produces the error: 'MyAssembly' is a 'namespace' but is used like a 'variable' Any thoughts on how to fix this?

  • JSONArray does not work when I am getting the JSON string from the server

    - by Taehoon A Kim
    I've looked up some answers but am not sure why mine is failing exactly... The code looks something like this HttpResponse httpResponse = httpClient.execute(httpPost); HttpEntity httpEntity = httpResponse.getEntity(); String json = EntityUtils.toString(httpEntity); //Convert to JsonArray JSONArray jsonArray = new JSONArray(json); Log.i(DEBUG_TAG, Integer.toString(jsonArray.length())); for (int i = 0; i < jsonArray.length(); i++) { JSONObject jsonObject = jsonArray.getJSONObject(i); Log.i(DEBUG_TAG, jsonObject.getString(KEY_ID)); // creating new HashMap HashMap<String, String> map = new HashMap<String, String>(); // adding each child node to HashMap key => value map.put(KEY_ID, jsonObject.getString(KEY_ID)); map.put(KEY_TITLE, jsonObject.getString(KEY_TITLE)); map.put(KEY_ARTIST, jsonObject.getString(KEY_ARTIST)); map.put(KEY_DURATION, jsonObject.getString(KEY_DURATION)); map.put(KEY_VOTECOUNT, jsonObject.getString(KEY_VOTECOUNT)); map.put(KEY_THUMB_URL, jsonObject.getString(KEY_THUMB_URL)); map.put(KEY_GENRE, jsonObject.getString(KEY_GENRE)); //Adding map to ArrayList if (Integer.parseInt(jsonObject.getString(KEY_VOTECOUNT)) == -1){ //If VoteCount is -1 then add to header headerList.add(map); }else { songsList.add(map); } } } catch (UnsupportedEncodingException e) { e.printStackTrace(); } catch (ClientProtocolException e) { e.printStackTrace(); } catch (IOException e) { e.printStackTrace(); } When I run logcat on String json, it seems to show correct info which is kind of like this... { "userdata": [ { "id": "8", "title": "Baby One More Time", "artist": "Britney Spears", "duration": "03:24:00", "votes": "0", "thumb_url": "http://api.androidhive.info/music/images/dido.png", "genre": null }, { "id": "2", "title": "As Long As You Love Me", "artist": "Justin Bieber", "duration": "05:26:00", "votes": "0", "thumb_url": "http://api.androidhive.info/music/images/enrique.png", "genre": "Rock" } ] } and the logcat on JSONArray jsonArray = new JSONArray(json); tells me that jsonArray.length() 10-31 22:57:28.433: W/CustomizedListView(26945): error!
