  • How do I know if a drag/drop has been cancelled in WPF

    I'm writing a user control in WPF which is based on a ListBox. One of the main pieces of functionality is the ability to reorder the list by dragging the items around. When a user drags an item I change the items Opacity to 50% and physically move the item in an ObservableCollection in my ViewModel depending on where the user wants it. On the drop event I change the Opacity back to 100%. The problem I've got is that if the user drags the item off my control and drops it somewhere else then I need to change the Opacity back to 100% and move the item back to where it was when the user started the drag. Is there an event I can handle to capture this action? If not is there any other cunning way to solve this problem?

  • How can I create a .jar file?

    In the tutorial I found out that jar files can be created in the following way: jar cf jar-file input-file(s) However, it was not clear what are the input-file(s). Is that .java files or .class files? From the examples on the same page I can assume that should be .class files. But now it is not clear which .class files should I put there. After the compilation of .java files I have a lot of .class files. One of the reason of that is that I have a lot files like that: GameWindow$2$10class, GameWindow$2$7.class and so on. Should I include all of them into the command line for the creation of the .jar file? To run my application I use java Game. So, my be I need to use only Game.class file when I create a .jar file? On the other hand other class files corresponds to classes used by the application. My software use external libraries (during compilation I specify .jar files of these libraries). Will .jar file of my application be able to run on the computer which does not contain the .jar file of used library?

  • What does the \- mean in the mvn dependency tree output

    Hi, I tried doing a mvn dependency:tree and I get a tree of dependencies. The output looks like below. I want to know what is the "-" symbol that is shown at times and the "+-" symbol for other dependencies (it doesnt seem to be the scope) My actual question is, My project depends on many modules which internally depends on many spring artifacts. There are a few version clashes. I want to upgrade all spring related libraries to say the latest one (2.6.x or above). What is the preferred way to do this? Should I declare all the deps spring-context, spring-support (and 10 other artifacts) in my pom.xml and point them to 2.6.x ? Is there any other better method ?   • Excel VSTO ->Hide/Unhide Ribbon Button based on another Ribbon Button click

    We are creating Excel 2007 AddIn using VSTO. Now we have a scenario where in there are 2 buttons. Button 'A' and Button 'B'. Button 'B'needs to be hidden based on the click on the button 'A'. But since the ribbon bar is not getting refreshed dynamically we are unable to see the change on the Ribbon Bar. I heard from some blods we need to use callback methods for the same. Could you please explain and put some code snippet on how to do that ? Will highly appreciate if anyone can help asap ...

  • Flex - Cancel drag operation via keyboard

    Hello I would like to be able to cancel a drag operation with the Escape key. The following did not work so far: calling stopDrag() on the component -- nothing happens calling DragManager.acceptDragDrop(null) -- nothing happens calling mx_internal function DragManager.endDrag() -- drag partly stops, the drag proxy image disappears but now the drop indicator shows at row 0, and also there's a null error when finally releasing the mouse Anybody else had any luck with this? Thanks!

    I need to write version-independent java code, because of some bugs in JDK 1.5 which was fixed in JDK 1.6 now i use the following condition: if (System.getProperty("java.version").startsWith("1.5.")) { ... } else{ ... } Is there another possibility to check this? Will it work for JVM from IBM?

  • Objective-C RGB to HSB

    Let's say I've got the colour FF0000, which is red. Finding a darker colour is easy, I just type maybe CC instead of the FF, but let's say I've got the colour AE83FC, which is a complicated colour, how the heck would I find a lighter or darker version of it automatically? I figured the easy way to do this is to convert my RGB to HSB [Hue, Saturation, Brightness] How would I do that in Objective-C? Let's say I've got a RGB which is: 1.0, 0.0, 0.0. That's red. CGFloat r = 1.0; CGFloat g = 0.0; CGfloat b = 0.0; How would I convert that to HSB and then transform the colors and make it go back to RGB to I can use CGContextRGBSetFillColor? Are there any HSB functions? Please help. :)

  • How to enable Jetty to support cometd/reverse ajax while let it listen to port 80?

    Hi, I would like to use cometd / reverse ajax capability of Jetty 7. I tried to configure it so it listen to port 80, instead of 8080. However, according to http://jetty.mortbay.org/jetty5/faq/faq%5Fs%5F200-General%5Ft%5Fapache.html , Apache can be configured as a HTTP/1.1 proxy to pass selected request to the Jetty using the HTTP/1.1 protocol. This is simple to configure and use, but current versions of the apache mod_proxy do not support persistent connections. As far as I know, the reverse ajax in jetty is depending on continuation (I guess it is persistent connection). So how to let jetty support reverse ajax, while coexist with apache server? Thanks.

  • Unable to FTP, any ideas?

    I'm using Windows Server 2003. I have the FTP services installed, router set to DMZ, and currently Anonymous logins allowed. (I know, security risk, but there's nothing important on there and not worried at the moment) So here's the thing... I can ftp to my computer, list directory, get files etc, BUT only if I'm using the command prompt. If I try to log in using IE or any FTP client it's just timing out. I've tried: username@ipaddress ipaddress username:password@ipaddress and not able to get any of them to work. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks!!!

  • Standard F* keys need holding Fn key on Compaq CQ62

    I got a Compaq CQ62 laptop recently. I find that I have to hold down the Fn keys to use the standard F* keys while accessing the special functionalities like media keys does not. This is frustrating as the standard keys are used more often the special functions. Is there anyway to fix it so that it behaves like other sane laptops out there? I use Ubuntu Lucid, but this behavior is present on laptops running Windows 7 too.

  • Can I change the binding source to another source in XAML?

    Hi guys, I want to do a very simple thing, can you point me on the right direction? I want to change the source in XAML to another object source, let me put you an example: I have a Listview, bound to a "Model A", it has many properties, but one is called "Total". This property is not shown on the View Each ListviewItem has its own source (ItemsSource), BUT, one of the fields should show "Total" from "Model A" Caveat: I am implementing MVVM, so the "Model A" is assigned as a VM DataSource, XAML knows nothing about it. So, in my perfect world the XAML should look like this: <GridViewColumn Header="Total" Width="150"> <GridViewColumn.CellTemplate> <DataTemplate> <Label Content="{Binding Source=<The source of LISTVIEW> Path=Total}"/> </DataTemplate> </GridViewColumn.CellTemplate> </GridViewColumn> I have tried RelativeSource but that points me to the XAML object, I want the source of it, is it possible? [UIView beginAnimations:nil context:nil]; [UIView setAnimationDuration:1.5]; [UIView setAnimationBeginsFromCurrentState:YES]; [UIView setAnimationTransition:UIViewAnimationTransitionCurlDown forView:self.view cache:YES]; [UIImageView commitAnimations]; Directly after this bit of code i call [self.navigationController popViewControllerAnimated:NO]; The thing is, I dont want to pop my ViewController before my animation is ready. Can someone point me to right directions here ?

    Hey guys, let's say I have a sorted list of Floats. Now I'd like to get the index of the next lower item of a given value. The usual for-loop aprroach has a complexity of O(n). Since the list is sorted there must be a way to get the index with O(log n). My O(n) approach: index=0 for i,value in enumerate(mylist): if value>compareValue: index=i-1 Is there a datatype for solving that problem in O(log n)? best regards Sebastian

  • google account security ?

    I want to write a web-app which would ask the user to pass their google account (user and pwd) so that it can access their google data. I understand google supports alternative ways to do this, such as AuthSub and OathAuthSub. Also google discourages apparently clientLogin (which would be my approach) for web apps. My question is: if I were asking the user to register to my app by passing me a 'read only' google account ? so effectively I don't ask them to pass me their account but to create another account which is readonly. does anybody see anything wrong with this ? am I missing something ? Since their google account continues to be the admin they don't risk (in terms of security) anything. Any help would be welcome ? Thanks

You need to initialize a DS so that you could use it to implement an autocomplete feature (like google suggest) comfortably. The requirement: Once the data from the db is processed into the data structure, when you type a letter you get the 10 most popular searchphrases from the db starting with that letter,then when you type the next one you get the 10 .... with these two letters and so on. The question only concerns planning the ds and pseudocoding Insert,Search etc. Note: YOU CANNOT USE TRIE DS. Any ideas?

    Even before I learnt programming I've been fascinated with how robots could work. Now I know how the underlying programming instructions would be written, but what I don't understand is how those intructions are followed by the robot. For example, if I wrote this code: object=Robot.ScanSurroundings(300,400); if (Objects.isEatable(object)) { Robot.moveLeftArm(300,400); Robot.pickObject(object); } How would this program be followed by the CPU in a way that would make the robot do the physical action of looking to the left, moving his arm, and such? Is it done primarily in binary language/ASM? Lastly, where would i go if I wanted to learn how to create a robot?
