  • advice on working on remote asp.net applications

    Hi folks, I'm a (relatively new) developer using asp.net with VB.NET. Currently all my applications are developed on my PC and then are built and moved onto the web server. I'm going to be working remotely for 3 months in which time I'll be connecting to the company network via VPN. What is the best way to access my projects? I need to have the projects stored on the company network so that others can access them too. So simply copying the projects to my laptop, working on them, then copying them back won't suffice. I tried to just open the projects off of the network share but am getting application trust problems. I'm just wondering what other developers do in this situation? Jonesy

  • C# console application

    I have sample exe say console.exe on "programfiles\myAppFolder" .It serves the purpose of logging the message to eventviewer EventLog.WriteEntry(sSource, sEvent, EventLogEntryType.Warning, 234); But whenever I click on the exe I need to call this exe on un-install of appcn from NSIS script .However it gives me an error always that "thisappConsole has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." Can anyone help me with this. If I put any other sample consoleapp without any additional "using statements". it works ..

    I need to define some modules and use them all in the same file. No, I can't change the requirement. I would like to do something like the following: { package FooObj; sub new { ... } sub add_data { ... } } { package BarObj; use FooObj; sub new { ... # BarObj "has a" FooObj my $self = ( myFoo => FooObj->new() ); ... } sub some_method { ... } } my $bar = BarObj->new(); However, this results in the message: Can't locate FooObj.pm in @INC ... BEGIN failed... How do I get this to work?

  • SSRS 2008 + SSL displays 404 not found

    Hi, I have SQL reporting services configured to use a secure certificate and when I visit both Reports and ReportManager I get a 404 not found error. The reporting services logs do not contain any error information. I am a bit at a loss to know where to start to diagnose this problem, especially as SSRS is not using IIS. I created the SSL binding using the Reporting Services Configuration Manager; IP Address: (All IPv4) SSL Port: 443 Certificate: {the certicate was present in the drop down list} URL: https://mydomain:444/Reports What can I check to get this working?   • Properties framework in java apps

    Hi All I have been using spring for a while as my IOC. It has also a very nice way of injecting properties in your beans. Now I am participating in a new project where the IOC is Guice. I dont understand fully the concept how should I inject properties in to my beans using Guice. The question : Is it actually possible to inject raw properties ( strings , ints ) into my guice beans. If the answer is no , than maybe you know some nice Properties Framework for java. Because right now I wanted to use the ResourceBundle class for simple properties management in my app. But after using spring for a while this just dont seem seriously enought for me.

  • Cakephp Auth Flash Messages losing style

    My Auth flash messages were working earlier -- a bright green background with text in it, such as "You have successfully logged out". However, I have made quite a few changes to the site since then, and this green background has disappeared. What are the possible causes of this? (I've run my CSS through a validator -- so that doesn't seem to be the issue). Any other ideas? Thanks!

    Hi guys, I need help with wcf service. i have a ajax-enabled wcf service: public class AddFavorites : Page { // Add [WebGet] attribute to use HTTP GET [WebGet(RequestFormat = WebMessageFormat.Json)] [OperationContract] public void AddFavorite() { this.AddMyFavorite(10, "sometext", "sometext"); } } And clientside looks like this: function AddFavorite() { $.ajax({ type: "GET", url: "/WebServices/AddFavorites.svc/AddFavorite", data: "{}", contentType: "application/json; charset=utf-8", dataType: "json", cache: false }); }; Im using fiddler to trace the application and i always get HTTP500. The class is inherited from Page class and uses the AddMyFavorite method that takes care of database. Website is hosted on iis7

  • Remote Desktop with resource sharing

    I recently removed ubuntu from my laptop and installed Windows 7 because Microsoft's DreamSpark program gave me Visual Studio Pro for free and I want to do some C# programming with it. The problem is that my laptop's screen is small, it's resources are extremely limited, and it doesn't have a full sized keyboard. However, I do have a desktop that is my primary system, and it's got a quadcore and tons of RAM in it, and dual monitors. My question is this, is there a way I can use a program from my laptop, on my desktop, and share my desktops CPU and RAM with the laptop? Everything is connected through a 100 MB/s switch. One caveat, my desktop is running ubuntu.

  • Translate a webpage in PHP

    I'm looking to translate a webpage in PHP 5 so I can save the translation and make it easily accessible via mydomain.com/lang/fr/category/article.html rather than users having to go through google translate. I've found various easy ways to translate text via CURL, however what i'd really like to be able to do is translate an entire webpage but obviously ignore the tags. The problem is that Google Translate messes up all the HTML tags, class names etc Does anyone know of a php class that can translate an entire webpage whilst ignoring the tags? I'm guessing it may be possible via advanced regular expressions or something like that, but i'm not sure. I can't just curl Google's response as i'll have all the extra JS that they put in. Any ideas?

  • Make compiler copy characters using movsd

    I would like to copy a relatively short sequence of memory (less than 1 KB, typically 2-200 bytes) in a time critical function. The best code for this on CPU side seems to be rep movsd. However I somehow cannot make my compiler to generate this code. I hoped (and I vaguely remember seeing so) using memcpy would do this using compiler built-in instrinsic, but based on disassembly and debugging it seems compiler is using call to memcpy/memmove library implementation instead. I also hoped the compiler might be smart enough to recognize following loop and use rep movsd on its own, but it seems it does not. char *dst; const char *src; // ... for (int r=size; --r>=0; ) *dst++ = *src++; Is there some way to make the Visual Studio compiler to generate rep movsd sequence other than using inline assembly?

Fails entirely in IE 6/7/8. The background image just doesnt show. I can see the text though. What am I doing wrong...?
