Many years of hard work have finally paid off. Our speed results often beat CPython, ranging from being slightly slower, to speedups of up to 2x on real application code, to speedups of up to 10x on small benchmarks. How is this possible? Which Python implementation was used to implement PyPy? CPython? And what are the chances of a PyPyPy or PyPyPyPy beating their score? (On a related note... why would anyone try something like this?)

  • Search a variable for an address

    Hello, I am trying to match information stored in a variable. I have a list of uuid's and ip addresses beside them. The code I have is: r = re.compile(r'urn:uuid:5EEF382F-JSQ9-3c45-D5E0-K15X8M8K76') m = r.match(str(serv)) if m1: print'Found' The string serv contains is: urn:uuid:7FDS890A-KD9E-3h53-G7E8-BHJSD6789D:[u'http://10.10.10.20:12365/7FDS890A-KD9E-3h53-G7E8-BHJSD6789D/'] --------------------------------------------- urn:uuid:5EEF382F-JSQ9-3c45-D5E0-K15X8M8K76:[u'http://10.10.10.10:42365'] --------------------------------------------- urn:uuid:8DSGF89S-FS90-5c87-K3DF-SDFU890US9:[u'http://10.10.10.40:5234'] --------------------------------------------- So basically I am wanting to find the uuid string and find out what it's address is and store it as a variable. So far I have just tried to get it to match the string to no avail. Can anyone point out a solution to this. Thanks

  • Comparing a time delta in python

    I have a variable which is <type 'datetime.timedelta'> and I would like to compare it against certain values. Lets say d produces this datetime.timedelta value 0:00:01.782000 I would like to compare it like this: #if d is greater than 1 minute if d>1:00: print "elapsed time is greater than 1 minute" I have tried converting datetime.timedelta.strptime() but that does seem to work. Is there an easier way to compare this value?

    We are using OpenLDAP client library to conect to an LDAP server. The problem is that if there is no activity for some time, server (or firewall in the middle) drops TCP connection. Our current implementation of "keep-alive" just does search for baseDN from time to time - any better ideas ?

If I have a class Class A public class A { ... private List<String> keys; ... } And I want to select all A instances from the DataStore that have atleast one of a List of keys, is there a better way of doing it than this: query = pm.newQuery(A.class); query.setFilter("keys.contains(:key1) || keys.contains(:key2) || keys.contains(:key3)"); List<A> results = (List<A>)query.execute(key1, key2, key3); This has not yet been implemented, so I am open to radical suggestions.

  • Does .net calling COM which in turn calls other .net COM object works when using SxS and manifest fi

    I have a .net application calling to a COM component (C++) which in turn calls to another COM object implemented in .NET. This application is using Windows SxS capabilities and does not register any of it's COM components. Not the one written in C++, and not the one written in .net. This first call to the C++ COM component works fine. But when the C++ COM component calls to the .net one, it fails with class not registered. I have tried creating a small C++ app with a manifest file which calls the .net component and it works. It seems that when the flow is .net - COM NATIVE - .NET COM. Then SxS breaks and does not work. When looking at Fusion Logs (assembly loading logs) I see that no one is even attempting to resolve the .NET COM assembly. Is this SxS scenario even supposed to work (I think it does supposed to work)? If yes, then what can I be doing wrong ?

  • How do I get all data from a mysql table via php, and print out the contents of every cell ?

    Hi. I've got a database table with at least three rows in it. From php, I have successfully connected to my db and extracted all table information with 'SELECT * from mytable' . Now I want to loop through first each row, and then each cell, printing out the contents of each cell. I know this might be a simple task for a more experienced programmer, but I can't figure it out, and I can't find any examples online and it's driving me stark raving bonkers. How can I do this ?

    I am fairly new to XCode and the Objective-C language. When I am instantiating a class, for example an NSMutableArray, XCode will provide a whole lot of auto-complete options. Even for an empty class which simply extends an NSObject has many options, most of which seem completely useless. What is the reason for having so many auto-complete options, or can they be "tamed" in the preferences?

    I need to find ways to add retry mechanism to my DB calls in case of timeouts, LINQ to SQL is used to call some sprocs in my code... using (MyDataContext dc = new MyDataContext()) { int result = -1; //denote failure int count = 0; while ((result < 0) && (count < MAX_RETRIES)) { result = dc.myStoredProc1(...); count++; } result = -1; count = 0; while ((result < 0) && (count < MAX_RETRIES)) { result = dc.myStoredProc2(...); count++; } ... ... } Not sure if the code above is right or posed any complications. It'll be nice to throw an exception after MAX_RETRIES has reached, but I dunno how and where to throw them appropriately :-) Any helps appreciated.

I know, I have to use listener for the ? button , but what should I do in listener exactly, such that when I click, it shows those alerts(images) and when I click again, it disappears. Please help.     Hi All, I am using autocomplete with scrollbar for my textbox. Autocomplete for touch screen. I can scroll up and down using the mouse wheel but i want to Use the mouse button to scroll up or down by dragging the scroll bar. if i use mouse button it moves the focus away from the text box field. Autocomplete is working only when using the keyboard not with the user defined keys. Geetha

    Suppose we have this html content, and we are willing to get Content1, Content2,.. with regular expression. <li>Content1</li> <li>Content2</li> <li>Content3</li> <li>Content4</li> If I use the line below preg_match_all('/<li>(.*)<\/li>/', $text, $result); i will get an array with a single row containing: Content1</li> <li>Content2</li> <li>Content3</li> <li>Content4 And by using this code: preg_match_all('/<li>(.*?)<\/li>/', $text, $result); i will get an array with 4 row containing Content1, Content2, ... Why (.*) is not working since it means match any character zero or more times

  • How can I parse raw email source and extract the HTML part?

    In my iPhone app, I'm handed the raw source of an email, in RFC822 (or "eml") format. I'd like the HTML part of this message (if one exists). Rather than attempting to parse it out myself and converting escape chars and so on, I thought I'd check to see if anyone knows of an objective-c library to do this for me. In .NET, I've always used the Mailbee classes for anything email related, but I can't seem to find anything similar for cocoa.
