  I read somewhere the you can't remove response headers once they've been added. Given that, I'm wondering where in a standard ASP.NET web forms application do response headers get added initially. For example, these: Date Fri, 23 Apr 2010 16:25:56 GMT Server Microsoft-IIS/6.0 X-Powered-By ASP.NET Cache-Control private And can I stop it from happening? Do subsequent headers override old headers? Does my question even make sense? Thanks.

I want this to happen using javascript and ajax like effect. I know how to access the dropdownlist inside gridview using javascript and I can get the new selectd item. But how can I save it to database without server side code? I know one way of doing this is using web services. I just want to know if there is/are any other ways to do it.

• DirectX Sphere Texture Coordinates

  I have a sphere with per-vertex normals and I'm trying to derive the texture coordinates for the object using the algorithm: U = Asin(Norm.X) / PI + 0.5 V = Asin(Norm.Y) / PI + 0.5 With a polka dot texture, I get: Here's the same object without the texture applied: The issue I'm particuarly looking at (I know there's a few) is the misalignment of the textures. I am inclined to believe the issue resides in my use of those algorithms, as the specular highlighting (which doesn't utilise any textures but does rely on the normals being correct) appears to have no artifacts. Any ideas?

Well it has unicode support but requires another library calld PDFLib ($1k version). so just wondering if anybodies ever stumbled upon or used any PHP pdf library which is easy to use and has unicode support. thanks,

• 2d String Array NullPointerException (java)

  I am currently creating a java application in which I have a 2d array which I want to get some data into. I am creating the 2d array as such String[][] addressData; and then when I am trying to put data in I am using reference the exact position in the 2d array I want to enter the data into e.g addressData[0][0] = "String Data"; The program compiles yet when I run I get a NullPointerException error. Am I using the wrong method to enter data into this 2d array?

I've been asked to add a testimonial to this page... http://www.orchardkitchens.com/Showroom/testimonials.html As you will see there are funny characters showing up all over the place, and it has thrown the structure of the page out. By "non-displayed elements", I mean the background elements (Managers, DataSources, Validators, etc) that show up as grey boxes containing the type and id. • What lessons have you learned about using a wiki as a development tool?

  I'd asked a question a while back about ways to encourage my team to collaborate. The tool we use is a wiki. Since this is the first time we are using the wiki (formally and as a team), we are learning by committing mistakes. One of the lessons has been that a wiki isn't suitable for tracking activities. It is better to use a tool built for-the-job (will elaborate if necessary). Are there other such anti-patterns? What development tasks would you NOT recommend using a wiki for (even though it may seem suitable at first glance)? Edit: Making this a community-wiki since it is probably unlikely that there will be 'one' right answer.

I need update the price of the main product when the price of the product child (piece) is changed. Following the previous example, if I change the price of this product "memory" (is a piece too) to 60€, then product "Computer" will must change his price to 320€ How I can do it using queries? Already I have tried this to obtain the price of the main product, but not runs. • MailMan error logging in Apache

  I am working on a MailMan implementation using Fedora 12. I have it set up and running but I was looking at what happens if someone tries to brute force a password on the web GUI and found that MailMan doesn't log these errors at all or I'm completely looking in the wrong place. I have tried both /var/log/httpd and /var/log/mailman and didn't see any authentication errors. I have also tried bumping up the Apache log level and still didn't see anything. I was wondering if there was a way to turn this type of logging on or if there was any other way to be notified about it. Thanks.
