  • Prevent CSS Validation for just 1 line

    I have a problem practically identical to this question, but I'm looking for a different solution. Instead of turning it off globally, I'd like to just disable it for a single line. I know I have seen many examples where various techniques are used to suppress different warnings, and I am looking for one that I can put in my CSS to suppress this one. Examples of ways to suppress warnings and such #pragma warning disable 659 or [SuppressMessage("Microsoft.Usage", "CA2214:DoNotCallOverridableMethodsInConstructors", Justification = "I have a good reason.")]. The CSS I want it to be quiet about has some CSS3 stuff in it which is why it's understandably complaining: .round { border-radius: 5px; -webkit-border-radius: 5px; -moz-border-radius: 5px; } So any idea how to make my Error 1 Validation (CSS 2.1): 'border-radius' is not a known CSS property name error go away? I'd rather not lose all of my CSS validations but I do want it to ignore this one "problem".

  • ASP.NET MVC Access model data in masterpage

    I have created a UserSiteBaseController that gets commonly used data and sets the data to a UserSiteBaseViewData viewmodel in a method called SetViewData public T CreateViewData<T>() where T : UserSiteBaseViewData, new() { .... } I then create specific Controllers that inherit from the UserSiteBaseController as well as viewModels that inherit from UserSiteHomeViewData and can be created in the controller like so: public ActionResult Index(string slug) { Slug = slug; var viewData = CreateUserSiteHomeViewData<UserSiteHomeViewData>(); //If invalid slug - throw 404 not found if (viewData == null) return PageNotFound(); viewData.Announcements = _announcementsData.All(slug).ToList(); return View(viewData); } private T CreateUserSiteHomeViewData<T>() where T : UserSiteHomeViewData, new() { T viewData = CreateViewData<T>(); return viewData; } The UserBaseViewData holds data that needs to be use on every page so it would be great to be able to access this data from the Masterpage in a strongly typed manner. Is this possible or am I going about this in the incorrect manner?

  • jsf: propagate the viewscope to new popup window

    in jsf2.0 is it possible to propagate the viewscope to new popup window, so that if new url is opened as model popup it should get the value from same managed bean. i tried by passing parent page's javax.faces.ViewState as url parameter to model popup page but getting viewexpired exception with this. i dont want to use session scope, is there any other solution?

  • Monotouch auto resizing views in iphone

    I have created a view in interface builder that contains another view (content area) and a button bar at the bottom. The hierarchy is as: ->View --->mapContainer UIView ----->map MKMapView ----->OverlayView UIView --->ToolBar UIToolBar I would like the mapContainer to resize to full window when the ToolBar is hidden. I would like the map and the OverlayView to resize to the mapContainer size I have attempted the following code, but it has no effect.   • C++ class derivation and superconstructor confusion

    Hey, in a tutorial C++ code, I found this particular piece of confusion: PlasmaTutorial1::PlasmaTutorial1(QObject *parent, const QVariantList &args) : Plasma::Applet(parent, args), // <- Okay, Plasma = namespace, Applet = class m_svg(this), // <- A member function of class "Applet"? m_icon("document") // <- ditto? { m_svg.setImagePath("widgets/background"); // this will get us the standard applet background, for free! setBackgroundHints(DefaultBackground); resize(200, 200); } I'm not new to object oriented programming, so class derivation and super-classes are nothing complicated, but this syntax here got me confused. The header file defines the class like this: class PlasmaTutorial1 : public Plasma::Applet { Similar to above, namespace Plasma and class Applet. But what's the public doing there? I fear that I already know the concept but don't grasp the C++ syntax/way of doing it. In this question I picked up that these are called "superconstructors", at least that's what stuck in my memory, but I don't get this to the full extend. If we glance back at the first snippet, we see Constructor::Class(...) : NS::SuperClass(...), all fine 'till here. But what are m_svg(this), m_icon("document") doing there? Is this some kind of method to make these particular functions known to the derivated class? Is this part of C++ basics or more immediate? While I'm not completly lost in C++, I feel much more at home in C :) Most of the OOP I have done so far was done in D, Ruby or Python. For example in D I would just define class MyClass : MySuperClass, override what I needed to and call the super class' constructor if I'd need to.

    We are doing work for a company, based in the UK, who are planning on developing an application that uses the BouncyCastle.Crypto.dll. They intend to make their product (including the crypto dll) available for download over the Internet. Are there UK restrictions on the export of crypto software that would prevent them from doing this? From Wikipedia, I understand it's okay to export it from the US, but not sure about the UK.

  • Intercept POS print instruction, capture the text content and send it to the printer

    I would like intercept print instruction from POS sytems, capture the text content(as I need to use this) and send it to the printer. And would also like to use a program with OPOS standards, so that it will work with all kinds of POS system. I looked into MS POS .Net and and samples from MONORECS and still not clear on how to accomplish this. If some body can shed some light on how to achieve this, setting up a test system, where can I learn more about this and give some directions that will be great.

  • Can jQuery perform a compound select against the top level only?

    Basically, is there a way to write a.children('.outer').children('.inner') without the intermediate selector? I can't write $('.outer > .inner', a) because I don't want to do full-depth search against a — I know that the .outer elements are immediate children of a. It's partly a matter of "elegance", but partly because I'm trying to avoid "throwaway" element sets. Yes, jQuery may in effect do the same thing, but it has a better chance of optimizing (at least in theory), when it knows the full query's intent.

  • iPhone niche applications

We're thinking about developing it with PhoneGap/html/javascript as we want to make it available under other mobile platforms. Given that it's only for a small number of users within a particular organisation, would we submit that to AppStore? Is App Store meant for general public applications? Any recommendations on how to approach this? thanks

  • Objective C Naming Convention for an object that owns itself

    With the latest releases of XCode that contain static analyzers, some of my objects are throwing getting analyzer issues reported. Specifically, I have an object that owns itself and is responsible for releasing itself, but should also be returned to the caller and possibly retained there manually. If I have a method like + (Foo) newFoo the analyzer sees the word New and reports an issue in the caller saying that newFoo is expected to return an object with retain +1, and it isn't being released anywhere. If I name it + (Foo) getFoo the analyzer reports an issue in that method, saying there's a potential leak because it's not deallocated before returning. My class basically looks like this: + (Foo *) newFoo { Foo *myFoo = [[[Foo new] retain] autorelease]; [myFoo performSelectorInBackground:@selector(bar) withObject:nil]; return myFoo; } - (void) bar { //Do something that might take awhile [self release]; } The object owns itself and when its done, will release itself, but there's nowhere that it's being stored, so the static analyzer sees it as a leak somewhere. Is there some naming or coding convention to help?

  • OData &ndash; The easiest service I can create

    I wanted to create an OData service with the least amount of code so I fired up Visual Studio and got cracking. I decided to serve up a list of naughty words and make them read-only. Create a new web project. I created an empty MVC 2 application but MVC is not required for OData. Add a new WCF Data Service to the project. I named mine NastyWords.svc since I’m serving up a list of nasty words. Add a class to expose via the service: NastyWord 1: [DataServiceKey("Word")] 2: public class NastyWord 3: { 4: public string Word { get; set; } 5: }   I need to be able to uniquely identify instances of NastyWords for the DataService so I used the DataServiceKey attribute with the “Word” property as the key. I could have added an “ID” property which would have uniquely identified them and would then not need the “DataServiceKey” attribute because the DataService would apply some reflection and heuristics to guess at which property would be the unique identifier. However, the words themselves are unique so adding an “ID” property would be redundantly repetitive. Then I created a data source to expose my NastyWord objects to the service. This is just a simple class with IQueryable<T> properties exposing the entities for my service: 1: public class NastyWordsDataSource 2: { 3: private static IList<NastyWord> words = new List<NastyWord> 4: { 5: new NastyWord{ Word="crap"}, 6: new NastyWord{ Word="darn"}, 7: new NastyWord{ Word="hell"}, 8: new NastyWord{ Word="shucks"} 9: }; 10:   11: public NastyWordsDataSource() 12: { 13: NastyWords = words.AsQueryable(); 14: } 15:   16: public IQueryable<NastyWord> NastyWords { get; private set; } 17: }   Now I can go to the NastyWords.svc class and tell it which data source to use and which entities to expose: 1: public class NastyWords : DataService<NastyWordsDataSource> 2: { 3: // This method is called only once to initialize service-wide policies. 4: public static void InitializeService(DataServiceConfiguration config) 5: { 6: config.SetEntitySetAccessRule("*", EntitySetRights.AllRead); 7: config.DataServiceBehavior.MaxProtocolVersion = DataServiceProtocolVersion.V2; 8: } 9: }   Compile and browse to my NastWords.svc and weep with joy Now I can query my service just like any other OData service. Next time, I’ll modify this service to allow updates to sent so I can build up my list of nasty words. Enjoy!

  • Troubleshooting web page load issues

    I having an odd issue where a particular page doesn't finish loading... all the time. Intermittenly, this page doesn't finish loading - in particluar, it seems maybe the JS file isn't downloaded or finished loading. Marchelos Law I am not sure how to troubleshoot this issue, since refreshing it fixes it. I see it mostly in IE 7 & 8, rarely in Safari or FireFox. If you view the page in question, refreshing it - you should see the issue. Any ideas?

  • nginx giving of 404 when using set in an if-block

    I've just started using nginx and I'm now trying to make it play nice with the Wordpress plugin WP-SuperCache which adds static files of my blog posts. To serve the static file I need to make sure that some cookies aren't set, that it's not a POST-request and making sure the cached/static file exist. I found this guide and it seems like a good fit. But I've noticed that as soon as I try to set something inside an if my site starta giving 404s on an URL that isn't rewritten. The location block of the configuration: location /blog { index index.php; set $supercache_file ''; set $supercache_ok 1; if ($request_method = POST) { set $supercache_ok 0; } if ($http_cookie ~* "(comment_author_|wordpress|wp-postpass_)") { set $supercache_ok '0'; } if ($supercache_ok = '1') { set $supercache_file '$document_root/blog/wp-content/cache/supercache/$http_host/$1/index.html.gz'; } if (-f $supercache_file) { rewrite ^(.*)$ $supercache_file break; } try_files $uri $uri/ @wordpress; } The above doesn't work, and if I remove all the ifs above and add if ($http_host = 'mydomain.tld') { set $supercache_ok = 1; } and then I get the exact same message in the errors.log. Namely: 2010/05/12 19:53:39 [error] 15977#0: *84 "/home/ba/www/domain.tld/blog/2010/05/blogpost/index.php" is not found (2: No such file or directory), client: <ip>, server: domain.tld, request: "GET /blog/2010/05/blogpost/ HTTP/1.1", host: "domain.tld", referrer: "http://domain.tld/blog/" Remove the if and everything works as it should. I'm stymied, no idea at all where I should start searching. =/ ba@cell: ~> nginx -v nginx version: nginx/0.7.65

  • Spam just keeps on coming

    I administer a Windows Server 2003 with Exchange 2003 as well as GFI installed. I am watching the GFI dashboard and every third email is spam. Not only that it goes to a non existent address then the [email protected] sends out an NDR to the sender. Should I be worried about this? I know it is directory harvesting but we have directory harvesting turned on in GFI and I do see it is working but obviously doesn't work for emails that don't exist. My issue is I would turn off NDR but then people who legitimately mistype and email address to our domain will never know their email did not get to the recipient. What do others do to combat spam? Is 3 times the amount of spam to ham normal? We filter out 90% of the spam but some does get into the users inbox. Thanks for the suggestions and advice!

  • associate dhcp requests with subdomains in dnsmasq

    I have dnsmasq running as a dns server with a number of linux boxes using static ips that run several virtual hosts on subdomains. I currently have the following address line in my dnsmasq.conf to map the subdomain of a boxes address to the boxes static ip: address=/.devbox1.mydomain.com/192.168.1.3 address=/.devbox2.mydomain.com/192.168.1.4 e.g. site1.devbox1.mydomain.com > maps to devbox1 static ip, site1 virtual host site2.devbox1.mydomain.com > maps to devbox1 static ip, site2 virtual host site3.devbox2.mydomain.com > maps to devbox2 static ip, site3 virtual host I was wondering if I can change the machines over to DHCP addresses (instead of static) and have dnsmasq use the dhcp ip instead of the static one? Can I modify the address line to refer to the DHCP address (obviously, I cant hardcode the address)? I know I could add mac address to ip allocation, but I want to avoid this if possible.
