  • JPA : Inheritance - Discriminator value not taken into account in generated SQL

    - by Julien
    I try to use this mapping : @Entity @Table(name="ecc.\"RATE\"") @Inheritance(strategy=InheritanceType.SINGLE_TABLE) @DiscriminatorColumn(name="DISCRIMINATOR", discriminatorType= DiscriminatorType.STRING) public abstract class Rate extends GenericBusinessObject { ... } @Entity @DiscriminatorValue("E") public class EntranceRate extends Rate { @ManyToOne @JoinColumn(name = "\"RATES_GRID_ID\"") protected RatesGrid ratesGrid; ... } @Entity @Table(name="ecc.\"RATES_GRID\"") public class RatesGrid extends GenericBusinessObject { /** */ @OneToMany(mappedBy = "ratesGrid", targetEntity = EntranceRate.class, fetch=FetchType.LAZY) private List<EntranceRate> entranceRates; } When I try to access my entranceRates list from a ratesGrid object, I get this error : Object with id: 151 was not of the specified subclass: com.ecc.bo.rate.EntranceRate (loaded object was of wrong class class com.ecc.bo.rate.AnnualRate) Looking at the sql generated, I found no trace of "discriminator=" in the where clause. What am I doing wrong ? I use a PostGreSQL database and a Hibernate as JPA provider.

  • C++ Project compiles as static lib, fails (linker error) as dynamic lib. why??

    - by Roey
    Hi All. I've a VS2008 native C++ project, that I wish to compile as a DLL. It only references one external library (log4cplus.lib), and uses its functions. (also uses log4cplus's .h files , naturally). When I try to compile my project as a static library, it succeeeds. When I try as DLL, it fails : 1>MessageWriter.obj : error LNK2019: unresolved external symbol "public: static class log4cplus::Logger __cdecl log4cplus::Logger::getInstance(class std::basic_string<wchar_t,struct std::char_traits<wchar_t>,class std::allocator<wchar_t> > const &)" (?getInstance@Logger@log4cplus@@SA?AV12@ABV?$basic_string@_WU?$char_traits@_W@std@@V?$allocator@_W@2@@std@@@Z) referenced in function "class log4cplus::Logger __cdecl Log(void)" (?Log@@YA?AVLogger@log4cplus@@XZ) There are 4 more errors just like this related to functions within log4cplus.lib. It seems like something really stupid.. please help me :) Thanks!

  • What to Return? Error String, Bool with Error String Out, or Void with Exception

    - by Ranger Pretzel
    I spend most of my time in C# and am trying to figure out which is the best practice for handling an exception and cleanly return an error message from a called method back to the calling method. For example, here is some ActiveDirectory authentication code. Please imagine this Method as part of a Class (and not just a standalone function.) bool IsUserAuthenticated(string domain, string user, string pass, out errStr) { bool authentic = false; try { // Instantiate Directory Entry object DirectoryEntry entry = new DirectoryEntry("LDAP://" + domain, user, pass); // Force connection over network to authenticate object nativeObject = entry.NativeObject; // No exception thrown? We must be good, then. authentic = true; } catch (Exception e) { errStr = e.Message().ToString(); } return authentic; } The advantages of doing it this way are a clear YES or NO that you can embed right in your If-Then-Else statement. The downside is that it also requires the person using the method to supply a string to get the Error back (if any.) I guess I could overload this method with the same parameters minus the "out errStr", but ignoring the error seems like a bad idea since there can be many reasons for such a failure... Alternatively, I could write a method that returns an Error String (instead of using "out errStr") in which a returned empty string means that the user authenticated fine. string AuthenticateUser(string domain, string user, string pass) { string errStr = ""; try { // Instantiate Directory Entry object DirectoryEntry entry = new DirectoryEntry("LDAP://" + domain, user, pass); // Force connection over network to authenticate object nativeObject = entry.NativeObject; } catch (Exception e) { errStr = e.Message().ToString(); } return errStr; } But this seems like a "weak" way of doing things. Or should I just make my method "void" and just not handle the exception so that it gets passed back to the calling function? void AuthenticateUser(string domain, string user, string pass) { // Instantiate Directory Entry object DirectoryEntry entry = new DirectoryEntry("LDAP://" + domain, user, pass); // Force connection over network to authenticate object nativeObject = entry.NativeObject; } This seems the most sane to me (for some reason). Yet at the same time, the only real advantage of wrapping those 2 lines over just typing those 2 lines everywhere I need to authenticate is that I don't need to include the "LDAP://" string. The downside with this way of doing it is that the user has to put this method in a try-catch block. Thoughts? Is there another way of doing this that I'm not thinking of?

  • Will pool the connection help threading in sqlite (and how)?

    - by mamcx
    I currently use a singleton to acces my database (see related question) but now when try to add some background processing everything fall apart. I read the sqlite docs and found that sqlite could work thread-safe, but each thread must have their own db connection. I try using egodatabase that promise a sqlite wrapper with thread safety but is very buggy, so I return to my old FMDB library I start to see how use it in multi-thread way. Because I have all code with the idea of singleton, change everything will be expensive (and a lot of open/close connections could become slow), so I wonder if, as the sqlite docs hint, build a pooling for each connection will help. If is the case, how make it? How know wich connection get from the pool (because 2 threads can't share the connection)? I wonder if somebody already use sqlite in multu-threading with NSOperation or similar stuff, my searching only return "yeah, its possible" but let the details to my imagination...

  • Problem authenticating with shiro in grails app

    - by xain
    I have a grails 1.2 app and I want to use declarative security in order to restrict accesses based on roles. I decided to try shiro, installed the plugin, but when I try to authenticate, the message "Invalid username and/or password" shows up in the header. I check the db entry and the user is there with the sha'ed password. No messages are shown neither in the console nor in the stacktrace file. I added "warn 'org.jsecurity'" to Config.groovy with no results. Any hints/tricks to troubleshoot this ?

  • Restoring multiple database backups in a transaction

    - by Raghu Dodda
    I wrote a stored procedure that restores as set of the database backups. It takes two parameters - a source directory and a restore directory. The procedure looks for all .bak files in the source directory (recursively) and restores all the databases. The stored procedure works as expected, but it has one issue - if I uncomment the try-catch statements, the procedure terminates with the following error: error_number = 3013 error_severity = 16 error_state = 1 error_message = DATABASE is terminating abnormally. The weird part is sometimes (it is not consistent) the restore is done even if the error occurs. The procedure: create proc usp_restore_databases ( @source_directory varchar(1000), @restore_directory varchar(1000) ) as begin declare @number_of_backup_files int -- begin transaction -- begin try -- step 0: Initial validation if(right(@source_directory, 1) <> '\') set @source_directory = @source_directory + '\' if(right(@restore_directory, 1) <> '\') set @restore_directory = @restore_directory + '\' -- step 1: Put all the backup files in the specified directory in a table -- declare @backup_files table ( file_path varchar(1000)) declare @dos_command varchar(1000) set @dos_command = 'dir ' + '"' + @source_directory + '*.bak" /s/b' /* DEBUG */ print @dos_command insert into @backup_files(file_path) exec xp_cmdshell @dos_command delete from @backup_files where file_path IS NULL select @number_of_backup_files = count(1) from @backup_files /* DEBUG */ select * from @backup_files /* DEBUG */ print @number_of_backup_files -- step 2: restore each backup file -- declare backup_file_cursor cursor for select file_path from @backup_files open backup_file_cursor declare @index int; set @index = 0 while(@index < @number_of_backup_files) begin declare @backup_file_path varchar(1000) fetch next from backup_file_cursor into @backup_file_path /* DEBUG */ print @backup_file_path -- step 2a: parse the full backup file name to get the DB file name. declare @db_name varchar(100) set @db_name = right(@backup_file_path, charindex('\', reverse(@backup_file_path)) -1) -- still has the .bak extension /* DEBUG */ print @db_name set @db_name = left(@db_name, charindex('.', @db_name) -1) /* DEBUG */ print @db_name set @db_name = lower(@db_name) /* DEBUG */ print @db_name -- step 2b: find out the logical names of the mdf and ldf files declare @mdf_logical_name varchar(100), @ldf_logical_name varchar(100) declare @backup_file_contents table ( LogicalName nvarchar(128), PhysicalName nvarchar(260), [Type] char(1), FileGroupName nvarchar(128), [Size] numeric(20,0), [MaxSize] numeric(20,0), FileID bigint, CreateLSN numeric(25,0), DropLSN numeric(25,0) NULL, UniqueID uniqueidentifier, ReadOnlyLSN numeric(25,0) NULL, ReadWriteLSN numeric(25,0) NULL, BackupSizeInBytes bigint, SourceBlockSize int, FileGroupID int, LogGroupGUID uniqueidentifier NULL, DifferentialBaseLSN numeric(25,0) NULL, DifferentialBaseGUID uniqueidentifier, IsReadOnly bit, IsPresent bit ) insert into @backup_file_contents exec ('restore filelistonly from disk=' + '''' + @backup_file_path + '''') select @mdf_logical_name = LogicalName from @backup_file_contents where [Type] = 'D' select @ldf_logical_name = LogicalName from @backup_file_contents where [Type] = 'L' /* DEBUG */ print @mdf_logical_name + ', ' + @ldf_logical_name -- step 2c: restore declare @mdf_file_name varchar(1000), @ldf_file_name varchar(1000) set @mdf_file_name = @restore_directory + @db_name + '.mdf' set @ldf_file_name = @restore_directory + @db_name + '.ldf' /* DEBUG */ print 'mdf_logical_name = ' + @mdf_logical_name + '|' + 'ldf_logical_name = ' + @ldf_logical_name + '|' + 'db_name = ' + @db_name + '|' + 'backup_file_path = ' + @backup_file_path + '|' + 'restore_directory = ' + @restore_directory + '|' + 'mdf_file_name = ' + @mdf_file_name + '|' + 'ldf_file_name = ' + @ldf_file_name restore database @db_name from disk = @backup_file_path with move @mdf_logical_name to @mdf_file_name, move @ldf_logical_name to @ldf_file_name -- step 2d: iterate set @index = @index + 1 end close backup_file_cursor deallocate backup_file_cursor -- end try -- begin catch -- print error_message() -- rollback transaction -- return -- end catch -- -- commit transaction end Does anybody have any ideas why this might be happening? Another question: is the transaction code useful ? i.e., if there are 2 databases to be restored, will SQL Server undo the restore of one database if the second restore fails?

  • How do I make my multicast program work between computers on different networks?

  • Problem generating APN SSL certificate after submitting to apple store

    - by MikeQ
    I'm having trouble getting Apple to generate an APN SSL certificate for my app ID. I've submitted the application to the Apple store, and it is pending review. I tested the application using an Ad Hoc app ID "${bundle_id}.adHoc" and everything went fine. I submitted to the Apple store with app ID "${bundle_id}.release". Now I want to generate my production APN SSL certificate for use with my release application ID - but the developer portal doesn't want to. When I upload my certificate request, it sits for about a minute before telling me: "We are not able to generate your Profile at this time. Please try again later or try using the Provisioning Portal" Is it impossible to generate your certificate while the application is under review or something? Should I have generated it prior to submission?

  • Hibernate save() and transaction rollback

    - by Marco
    Hi, In Hibernate when i save() an object in a transaction, and then i rollback it, the saved object still remains in the DB. It's strange because this issue doesn't happen with the update() or delete() method, just with save(). Here is the code i'm using: DbEntity dbEntity = getDbEntity(); HibernateUtil.beginTransaction(); Session session = HibernateUtil.getCurrentSession(); session.save(dbEntity); HibernateUtil.rollbackTransaction(); And here is the HibernateUtil class (just the involved functions, i guarantee the getSessionFactory() method works well - there is an Interceptor handler, but it doesn't matter now): private static final ThreadLocal<Session> threadSession = new ThreadLocal<Session>(); private static final ThreadLocal<Transaction> threadTransaction = new ThreadLocal<Transaction>(); /** * Retrieves the current Session local to the thread. * <p/> * If no Session is open, opens a new Session for the running thread. * * @return Session */ public static Session getCurrentSession() throws HibernateException { Session s = (Session) threadSession.get(); try { if (s == null) { log.debug("Opening new Session for this thread."); if (getInterceptor() != null) { log.debug("Using interceptor: " + getInterceptor().getClass()); s = getSessionFactory().openSession(getInterceptor()); } else { s = getSessionFactory().openSession(); } threadSession.set(s); } } catch (HibernateException ex) { throw new HibernateException(ex); } return s; } /** * Start a new database transaction. */ public static void beginTransaction() throws HibernateException { Transaction tx = (Transaction) threadTransaction.get(); try { if (tx == null) { log.debug("Starting new database transaction in this thread."); tx = getCurrentSession().beginTransaction(); threadTransaction.set(tx); } } catch (HibernateException ex) { throw new HibernateException(ex); } } /** * Rollback the database transaction. */ public static void rollbackTransaction() throws HibernateException { Transaction tx = (Transaction) threadTransaction.get(); try { threadTransaction.set(null); if ( tx != null && !tx.wasCommitted() && !tx.wasRolledBack() ) { log.debug("Tyring to rollback database transaction of this thread."); tx.rollback(); } } catch (HibernateException ex) { throw new HibernateException(ex); } finally { closeSession(); } } Thanks

  • Classes missing if application runs for a long time

    - by Rogach
    I have a funny problem - if my application runs for a long time ( 20h), then sometimes I get NoClassDefFound error - seems like JVM decided that the class is not going to be used anyway and GCd it. To be a bit more specific, here's an example case: object ErrorHandler extends PartialFunction[Throwable,Unit] { def isDefinedAt(t: Throwable) = true def apply(e: Throwable) =e match { // ... handle errors } } // somewhere else in the code... try { // ... long running code, can take more than 20 hours to complete } catch (ErrorHandler) And I get the following exception: Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: org/rogach/avalanche/ErrorHandler$ If that try/catch block runs for smaller amounts of time, everything works as expected. If anyone is interested, here is the codebase in question: Avalanche I need to note that I saw this and similar problems only on Cent OS 5 machines, using JRE 6u26 and Scala 2.9.1 / 2.9.2. What could be the cause of this problem?

  • Temporarily impersonate and enable privileges?

    - by Luke
    We maintain a DLL that does a lot of system-related things; traversing the file system, registry, etc. The callers of this DLL may or may not be using impersonation. In order to better support all possible scenarios I'm trying to modify it to be smarter. I'll use the example of deleting a file. Currently we just call DeleteFile(), and if that fails that's the end of that. I've come up with the following: BOOL TryReallyHardToDeleteFile(LPCTSTR lpFileName) { // 1. caller without privilege BOOL bSuccess = DeleteFile(lpFileName); DWORD dwError = GetLastError(); if(!bSuccess && dwError == ERROR_ACCESS_DENIED) { // failed with access denied; try with privilege DWORD dwOldRestorePrivilege = 0; BOOL bHasRestorePrivilege = SetPrivilege(SE_RESTORE_NAME, SE_PRIVILEGE_ENABLED, &dwOldRestorePrivilege); if(bHasRestorePrivilege) { // 2. caller with privilege bSuccess = DeleteFile(lpFileName); dwError = GetLastError(); SetPrivilege(SE_RESTORE_NAME, dwOldRestorePrivilege, NULL); } if(!bSuccess && dwError == ERROR_ACCESS_DENIED) { // failed with access denied; if caller is impersonating then try as process HANDLE hToken = NULL; if(OpenThreadToken(GetCurrentThread(), TOKEN_QUERY | TOKEN_IMPERSONATE, TRUE, &hToken)) { if(RevertToSelf()) { // 3. process without privilege bSuccess = DeleteFile(lpFileName); dwError = GetLastError(); if(!bSuccess && dwError == ERROR_ACCESS_DENIED) { // failed with access denied; try with privilege bHasRestorePrivilege = SetPrivilege(SE_RESTORE_NAME, SE_PRIVILEGE_ENABLED, &dwOldRestorePrivilege); if(bHasRestorePrivilege) { // 4. process with privilege bSuccess = DeleteFile(lpFileName); dwError = GetLastError(); SetPrivilege(SE_RESTORE_NAME, dwOldRestorePrivilege, NULL); } } SetThreadToken(NULL, hToken); } CloseHandle(hToken); hToken = NULL; } } } if(!bSuccess) { SetLastError(dwError); } return bSuccess; } So first it tries as the caller. If that fails with access denied, it temporarily enables privileges in the caller's token and tries again. If that fails with access denied and the caller is impersonating, it temporarily unimpersonates and tries again. If that fails with access denied, it temporarily enables privileges in the process token and tries again. I think this should handle pretty much any situation, but I was wondering if there was a better way to achieve this? There are a lot of operations that we would potentially want to use this method (i.e. pretty much any operation that accesses securable objects).

  • Java->Scala Remove Iterator<T>-Element from a JavaConversions-wrapped Iterable

    - by ifischer
    I have to translate the following code from Java to Scala: for (Iterator<ExceptionQueuedEvent> i = getUnhandledExceptionQueuedEvents().iterator(); i.hasNext();) { ExceptionQueuedEvent event = i.next(); try { //do something } finally { i.remove(); } } I'm using the JavaConversions library to wrap the Iterable. But as i'm not using the original Iterator, i don't know how to remove the current element correctly from the collection the same way as i did in Java: import scala.collection.JavaConversions._ (...) for (val event <- events) { try { //do something } finally { //how can i remove the current event from events? } } Can someone help me? I guess it's easy, but i'm still kinda new to Scala and don't understand what's going on when Scala wraps something of Java.

  • Unable to catch exception from Activator.CreateInstance.

    - by Patrik Hägne
    OK, I admit it this code will just look weird to you, and that's because it is weird. This is just code to reproduce the behavior, not code I want to use. class Program { static void Main(string[] args) { try { Activator.CreateInstance(typeof(Func<int>), new object[] { new object(), IntPtr.Zero }); } catch { Console.WriteLine("This won't print!"); } Console.Write("Actually this will not print either!"); Console.ReadLine(); } } No matter what exception type I try to catch (the actual exception thrown is an ArgumentException as far as I can tell) the code inside the catch block will not execute. Actually execution will just stop at the Activator.CreateInstance-line.

  • C# Windows Forms Print Dialog box click OK twice to respond

    - by sbartlett007
    I'm using Visual Studio 2008, .net Framework 3.5 for a Windows forms client-server app that I'm working on. There is a weird bug when I run the program and try to print. The print dialog box opens, but I have to click the OK button twice for it to work. After the second click it works fine, no errors. When I put a breakpoint on: if (result == DialogResult.OK) , the breakpoint doesn't trigger until the second click. Here is the code: private void tbPrint_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { try { printDialog1.Document = pDoc; DialogResult result = printDialog1.ShowDialog(); if (result == DialogResult.OK) { pDoc.PrinterSettings.PrinterName = printDialog1.PrinterSettings.PrinterName; pDoc.Print(); } ... This is driving me crazy, and I can't see anything else that would interfere with it.

  • Design view not working in Web Projects in Visual Studio 2008

    - by HenryHey
    When I try to edit an ASPX file with the Design View it freezes for a moment and does nothing, not even an error message. Looking through menus I've seen some strange things: If I go to Tools-Options-HTML Designer it gives me no options on the right panel, just a "Error loading property page" message. When I try to open a file using "Open With..." there should be something like "Web Form - Editor", but it is missing and I can only open them using Code View. I've tried repairing Visual Studio and reinstalling WebDesignerCore, but nothing works. Anyone had the same problem?

  • Problem updating blog with hibernate?

    - by johnsmith51
    hi, i am having problem updating a blob with hibernate. my model have these getters/setters for hibernate, i.e. internally i deal with byte[] so any getter/setter convert the byte[] to blog. I can create an initial object without problem, but if I try to change the content of the blob, the database column is not updated. I do not get any error message, everything looks fine, except that the database is not updated. /** do not use, for hibernate only */ public Blob getLogoBinaryBlob() { if(logoBinary == null){ return null; } return Hibernate.createBlob(logoBinary); } /** do not use, for hibernate only */ public void setLogoBinaryBlob(Blob logoBinaryBlob) { ByteArrayOutputStream baos = new ByteArrayOutputStream(); try { logoBinary = toByteArrayImpl(logoBinaryBlob, baos); } catch (Exception e) { } }

  • How to sort a gridview once a radio button is selected

    - by metashockwave
    I'm trying to sort records in the gridview right after a radio button is selected. My approach is with the dataview, but because the dataset variable doesn't survive a round trip to the server, I don't know how to make this happen. please help! Public Sub GetCustomers() db.RunProcedure("usp_customers_get_all") db.doSort(radList.SelectedValue) gvCustomers.DataSource = db.MyView End Sub Protected Sub radList_SelectedIndexChanged(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles radList.SelectedIndexChanged If radList.SelectedValue = 0 Then db.doSort(0) gvCustomers.DataSource = db.MyView End If If radList.SelectedValue = 1 Then db.doSort(1) gvCustomers.DataSource = db.MyView End If End Sub Public Sub doSort(ByVal strIn As Integer) If strIn = 0 Then MyView.Sort = "lastname, firstname" Else MyView.Sort = "username" End If End Sub Public Sub RunProcedure(ByVal strName As String) Dim objConnection As New SqlConnection(mstrConnection) Dim mdbDataAdapter As New SqlDataAdapter(strName, objConnection) Try mdbDataAdapter.SelectCommand.CommandType = CommandType.StoredProcedure Me.mDataset.Clear() mdbDataAdapter.Fill(mDataset, "tblCustomers") MyView.Table = mDataset.Tables("tblCustomers") Catch ex As Exception Throw New Exception("stored procedure is " & strName.ToString & " error is " & ex.Message) End Try End Sub

  • What is Boost missing?

    - by Robert Gould
    After spending most of my waking time on Stack Overflow, for better or for worse, I've come to notice how 99% of the C++ questions are answered with "use boost::wealreadysolvedyourproblem", but there must definitely be a few areas Boost doesn't cover, but would be better if it did. So what features is Boost missing? I'll start by saying: boost::sql (although SOCI should try to become a legal part of boost) boost::json (although TinyJSON should try to become a legal part of boost) boost::audio (no idea about a good boost-like C++ library) PS: The purpose is to compile a reasonable list, and hopefully Boost-like solutions out there that aren't yet a part of Boost, so no silly stuff like boost::turkey please.

  • Output on namespaced xpath in java

    - by user347928
    I have the following code and have had some trouble with a specific field and it's output. The namespace is connected but doesn't seem to be outputting on the required field. Any info on this would be great. import org.w3c.dom.Document; import org.xml.sax.SAXException; import javax.xml.parsers.DocumentBuilderFactory; import javax.xml.parsers.DocumentBuilder; import javax.xml.parsers.ParserConfigurationException; import javax.xml.xpath.XPathFactory; import javax.xml.xpath.XPath; import javax.xml.xpath.XPathExpressionException; import java.io.ByteArrayInputStream; import java.io.IOException; public class test { public static void main(String args[]) { String xmlStr = "<aws:UrlInfoResponse xmlns:aws=\"http://alexa.amazonaws.com/doc/2005-10-05/\">\n" + " <aws:Response xmlns:aws=\"http://awis.amazonaws.com/doc/2005-07-11\">\n" + " <aws:OperationRequest>\n" + " <aws:RequestId>blah</aws:RequestId>\n" + " </aws:OperationRequest>\n" + " <aws:UrlInfoResult>\n" + " <aws:Alexa>\n" + " <aws:TrafficData>\n" + " <aws:DataUrl type=\"canonical\">harvard.edu/</aws:DataUrl>\n" + " <aws:Rank>1635</aws:Rank>\n" + " </aws:TrafficData>\n" + " </aws:Alexa>\n" + " </aws:UrlInfoResult>\n" + " <aws:ResponseStatus xmlns:aws=\"http://alexa.amazonaws.com/doc/2005-10-05/\">\n" + " <aws:StatusCode>Success</aws:StatusCode>\n" + " </aws:ResponseStatus>\n" + " </aws:Response>\n" + "</aws:UrlInfoResponse>"; DocumentBuilderFactory xmlFact = DocumentBuilderFactory.newInstance(); xmlFact.setNamespaceAware(true); DocumentBuilder builder = null; try { builder = xmlFact.newDocumentBuilder(); } catch (ParserConfigurationException e) { e.printStackTrace(); } Document doc = null; try { doc = builder.parse( new ByteArrayInputStream( xmlStr.getBytes())); } catch (SAXException e) { e.printStackTrace(); } catch (IOException e) { e.printStackTrace(); } System.out.println(doc.getDocumentElement().getNamespaceURI()); System.out.println(xmlFact.isNamespaceAware()); String xpathStr = "//aws:OperationRequest"; XPathFactory xpathFact = XPathFactory.newInstance(); XPath xpath = xpathFact.newXPath(); String result = null; try { result = xpath.evaluate(xpathStr, doc); } catch (XPathExpressionException e) { e.printStackTrace(); //To change body of catch statement use File | Settings | File Templates. } System.out.println("XPath result is \"" + result + "\""); } }

  • android: having two listviews in two listactivities didn't work

    - by Yang
    I guess my previous question wasn't clear enough (http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2549585/android-failed-to-setcontentview-when-switching-to-listactivity), so I explain as follows. In my app I have two listactivities which uses two different listviews: public class Activity1 extends ListActivity { @Override public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { try{ super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); setContentView(R.layout.listview1); } public class Activity2 extends ListActivity { @Override public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { try{ super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); setContentView(R.layout.listview2); } } As required by android, listview must have an ID which is exactly "@android:id/list". If I set the listview in both listview1 and listview2 with the same ID, then they will end up using the same format of listview, which is not what I want. But if I set one of the IDs to be sth like "@+id/listview2", android gave me the error: java.lang.RuntimeException: Your content must have a ListView whose id attribute is 'android.R.id.list' How do I handle this dilema?
