  • Oauth2 External Browser Request - App Launches, Credentials received, Browser Not Updated

    - by Michael Drozdowski
I'm using an external browser request to authenticate myself with the SoundCloudAPI in OSX. My app launches, and has a button that opens an external browser window to authenticate against SoundCloud. When I click "connect" in the new window, I get a "External Protocol Request" that is consistent with my custom launch URI scheme. Clicking this loads the app, and it gets the correct credentials. The trouble is, the browser window never changes - it simply says that it's connecting forever. There is no "connection confirmed" alert coming from SoundCloud. I know I'm logged in because I can make the correct calls to the API to get things such as my username. Why isn't the browser confirming the connection or dismissing? The same thing happens if I load the authentication in an internal WebView in the app.

  • Can't find .js file in my mainBundle?!

    - by Nic Hubbard
This is driving me crazy as I cannot figure out what in the world is going on. I load up files form you main bundle all the time, xml files, html files, etc. But, now I am trying to get the contents of a javascript file but it can never find it. I am using: NSData *jsData = [NSData dataWithContentsOfFile:[[NSBundle mainBundle] pathForResource:@"global" ofType:@"js"]]; if (jsData) { NSLog(@"%@", jsData); } else { NSLog(@"Can't find file"); return; } Even checking the [[NSBundle mainBundle] pathForResource:@"global" ofType:@"js"] string returns null. My globaly.js file is in my Resources folder, the exact location where my other files are location that work totally fine using the above method. Why can't it find my js file?

  • Using Yahoo local search query for iPhone

    - by robbmcmahan
I'm using yahoo local search in an iPhone app and trying to query everything in a certain location. According to the api docs you can pass "*" to query and it will return everything. I've tried passing it several different ways, including the way below but it does not work unless I actually pass it a real query. Does anyone know how or what I need to pass to make it query everything? [self setQuery:[@"*" stringByAddingPercentEscapesUsingEncoding:NSASCIIStringEncoding]]; Thanks

  • Applying transformations to NSBitmapImageRep

    - by Adam
So ... I have an image loaded into an NSBitmapImageRep object, so I am able to examine the contents of specific pixels via a two dimensional array. Now I want to apply a couple of "transformations" to the image, in preparation for some additional processing. If I was manipulating the image manually, in Photoshop, I would: Rotate the image Crop a portion of it and discard the rest Apply a "threshold" transformation (which essentially converts the image to black and white, based on the threshold value I provide) Resample the image to shrink it down a bit (which, although losing some image quality, will speed up the subsequent processing) (not necessarily in that order) Are there objective C methods available to facilitate these specific image manipulations, with the data in the NSBitmapImageRep object? If so, can someone point me to some good examples?

  • [MAC] Using a proxy for NSURLConnection

    - by SideSwipe
Is there any way to get the content of a webfile (namely a .html Document) using a proxy, which is not defined in the system settings? I know that NSURLConnection is the right way to download a web file into a variable and not into a file (for which we should use NSURLDownload), but I don't find an way to use a proxy for it. Are there some inofficial APIs, Librarys or Classes or such I could use for what I want to do? I'm not that pro in Mac Programming, so im searching for something more or less simple to do for me plz. Is the first one a string literal that doesnt get autoreleased or is it just in memory for it's current scope and I dont have to worry about it?

  • iPhone: no way to draw on screen outside drawRect?

    - by Seva Alekseyev
Is there a way to draw on the iPhone screen (on a UIView in a UIWindow) outside of that view's drawRect() method? If so, how do I obtain the graphics context? The graphics guide mentions class NSGraphicsContext, but the relevant chapter seems like a blind copy/paste from Mac OS X docs, and there's no such class in iPhone SDK.

Just point the errors in the code. #import "readFileData.h" #import "DuelScreen.h" @implementation readFileData @synthesize enemyDescription, numberOfEnemies, numberOfValues; @synthesize enemyIndex, numberOfEnemyGunDrawImages, numberOfEnemyGunFireImages, numberOfEnemyDieImages; @synthesize countDownSpeed, enemyGunDrawInterval, enemyGunFire, enemyRefire; @synthesize enemyAccuracyProbability, enemyGunCoordinateX, enemyGunCoordinateY; -(id)init { if( (self = [super init]) ) { NSArray *paths = NSSearchPathForDirectoriesInDomains(NSDocumentDirectory, NSUserDomainMask, YES); NSString *documentsDirectory = [paths objectAtIndex:0]; NSString *path = [documentsDirectory stringByAppendingPathComponent:@"enemyDetals.txt"]; NSString *contentsOfFile = [[NSString alloc ]initWithContentsOfFile:path]; NSArray *lines = [contentsOfFile componentsSeparatedByString:@"#"]; numberOfEnemies = [lines count]; int nEnemy; nEnemy = 0; NSArray *eachEnemy=[[lines objectAtIndex:nEnemy] componentsSeparatedByString:@"^"]; DuelScreen *enemyNumber1 = [[DuelScreen alloc] init]; NSLog(@"tempCount value in: readFile: %d", enemyNumber1.tempCount); enemyIndex = enemyNumber1.tempCount - 1; countDownSpeed = [[eachEnemy objectAtIndex:0]intValue]; enemyGunDrawInterval = [[eachEnemy objectAtIndex:1]floatValue]; enemyGunFire = [[eachEnemy objectAtIndex:2]floatValue]; enemyAccuracyProbability = [[eachEnemy objectAtIndex:3]floatValue]; enemyRefire = [[eachEnemy objectAtIndex:4]floatValue]; numberOfEnemyGunDrawImages = [[eachEnemy objectAtIndex:5]intValue]; numberOfEnemyGunFireImages = [[eachEnemy objectAtIndex:6]intValue]; numberOfEnemyDieImages = [[eachEnemy objectAtIndex:7]intValue]; enemyGunCoordinateX = [[eachEnemy objectAtIndex:8]floatValue]; enemyGunCoordinateY = [[eachEnemy objectAtIndex:9]floatValue]; enemyDescription = [eachEnemy objectAtIndex:10]; } return self; } @end

  • Using View multiple times in Interface Builder

    - by user1396236
I'm using a UITableview and have a custom Cell with some labels. I set up all the constraints in Interface Builder. Now I'm using this Cell multiple times, I just copied it in IB. Now it's the time to change some of these contraints because of some bugs (I'm converting a iPhone App to an Universal). But it can't be right that I now have to set the constraints manually for every cell? How do I do right? If I want to control the constraints in one central place, do I have to set them up in Code? I would really not like that! Thanks in advance.

  • How to drag only one image with SDK Iphone

    - by loka
Hi! I want to create a little app that takes two images and i want to make only the image over draggable. After research, i found this solution : -(void)touchesMoved:(NSSet *)touches withEvent:(UIEvent *)event { UITouch *touch = [[ event allTouches] anyObject]; image.alpha = 0.7; if([touch view] == image){ CGPoint location = [touch locationInView:self.view]; image.center = location; } It works but the problem is that the image is draggable from its center and i don't want that. So i found another solution : - (void) touchesBegan:(NSSet*)touches withEvent:(UIEvent*)event { // Retrieve the touch point CGPoint pt = [[touches anyObject] locationInView:self.view]; startLocation = pt; [[self view] bringSubviewToFront:self.view]; } - (void) touchesMoved:(NSSet*)touches withEvent:(UIEvent*)event { // Move relative to the original touch point CGPoint pt = [[touches anyObject] locationInView:self.view]; frame = [self.view frame]; frame.origin.x += pt.x - startLocation.x; frame.origin.y += pt.y - startLocation.y; [self.view setFrame:frame]; } It works very well but when i add another image, all the images of the view are draggable at the same time.I'm a beginner with the iphone programmation and i have no idea of how i can only make the image over draggable. Thank you in advance for your help!!

  • What's safe to assume about the NSMutableArray / NSArray class cluster?

    - by andyvn22
I know you shouldn't use this to decide whether or not to change an array: if ([possiblyMutable isKindOfClass:[NSMutableArray class]]) But say I'm writing a method and need to return either an NSMutableArray or an NSArray, depending on the mutability of possiblyMutable. The class using my method already knows whether or not it's acceptable to change the returned array. Whether or not it's acceptable to change the returned array directly correlates with whether or not it's acceptable to change possiblyMutable. In that specific case, is this code safe? It seems to me that if it's not acceptable to change the array, but we accidentally get a mutable array, it's ok, because the class using my method won't try to change it. And if it is acceptable to change the array, then we will always get possiblyMutable as an NSMutableArray (though this is the part I'm not entirely clear on). So... safe or not? Alternatives?

  • App Crashing Inspite of Being ARC Enabled

    - by proctr
I have been working on an iOS App for sometime now and its almost ready to submit. However, when I gave it to few people for testing purposes (running iOS 5)..they reported cases where the app crashes and the home screen is displayed on the phone OR a frozen app screen appears with no response whatsoever The app is ARC enabled and Xcode shows no warnings. So, I'm relli tensed about what's going wrong. I have declared properties in the following fashion: @property (nonatomic) IBOutlet UILabel *devCountLabel; @property (nonatomic) IBOutlet UIView *splashView; Likewise other properties are declared. Could anyone provide a solution ASAP. It is mainly a network based app and thus, CoreData usage is minimum.. Anyway, I'm running out of time..So Please provide a fix asap..oh and thanks a ton for it. PS: The App doesn't crash in the simulator, so I'm guessing it has something related to memory. And the crashes are random. So, repeating a set of steps to reproduce the crash doesn't help either. For Eg. When I click a button, modalViewControllerAnimation results in normal case. Now this occurs as expected most of the time and freezes the app other times.

  • How to take a NSString such as, "0+1+2", get the sum of those and create new string. Obj-C

    - by Ace Legend
Alright. My app has a text field and next to it are two buttons (Plus button and Equals button). When you press the "Plus" button, it takes the text inside of the textField and adds a "+" to it. Code below: - (IBAction)plusButtonPressed:(id)sender { NSString *plusString = @"+"; NSString *inputString = carbsField.text; NSString *outputString = [NSString stringWithFormat:@"%@%@",inputString,plusString]; NSLog(@"%@",outputString); [carbsField setText:outputString]; } I will eventually make that more intelligent so that I can't put two pluses or whatever. Anyway, then I want the equal button to take whatever is in the textField, which should look something like: "23+54+2.2" and get the sum of those values. I believe I know how to take an Integer and make it a String, but I want to verify it: int *value = 56; NSString *string = @"%d",value; Well, if anyone can show me how to do this, I would be very appreciative. Thanks. EDIT At the moment, I have not tried anything. This is because I do not know where to start. I have an idea of what to do, but I do not know how to execute it. I believe I need to get all characters before a "+" convert them into int and then get the sum of some array of those values.
