• Stop people from viewing contents of a directory

  I want to stop people from viewing the contents of my images directory. I've built an app using Codeigniter and notice that they just have index.html pages with a 403 Forbidden message in all directories - is this a secure method to use? Is an index.html page in the directory sufficient or do I need to update config or .htaccess?

• iPhone SDK Zoom like UITextField

  I have noticed in a number of apps they let you see a zoomed in view of where you are dragging just like the way it is on a UITextField (screenshot attached) but it works over images etc.. Does anyone know if there is an easy way to achieve this? Since a number of apps use it I figured that there might be something built in or an easy way to do it. Any tips are appreciated.

  If I have a hash in Perl that contains complete and sequential integer mappings (ie, all keys from from 0 to n are mapped to something), is there a means of converting this to an Array? I know I could iterate over the key/value pairs and place them into a new array, but something tells me there should be a built-in means of doing this.

  I have one shared object (a.so) which has statically linked (s.so). b.so also has a static link of s.so. a.so does a dlopen on b.so , will "s.so" code be shared between the two. The .so are built on gcc 4.1 on RedHat linux. The s.so is compiled against a.so and b.so with -Bstatic and --no-whole-archive option.

  We're trailing the use of the built in bug tracking, and have written some integration into our helpdesk software that allows for escalation via workitems. One thing I haven't found out how to do, is to merge all changes associated with a work item (say to go from dev branch to main) - I appreciate you can double click on a changeset in the merge dialog to view if it is associated with a workitem, and also that I can select individual changesets, and groups of adjacent changesets; but there doesn't appear to be any way to merge changes by workitem?

• Any WSGI middleware to make HTTP redirect on specific status code?

  I'm using Pylons and want to add some middleware to it so that it catches 401 status codes and makes HTTP Redirect (302) to Signin page. I know there is built-in StatusCodeRedirect in Pylons that acts in a similar fashion, but it does not produce HTTP redirect, and rather redirects internally (this is what I do not want). Is there any existing middleware to add, or any generic middleware that can be easily modified to make HTTP redirects on specific status codes?

• Expression Blend does not allow to select Solution Configuration/Platform

  Our solution is built using Release|x86; however, when our designers try to build using Blend they are forced to use Any CPU which we don't want to to add since it's going to change the behavior. I checked version 4, and it does not seem to address this issue. Is there a way to specify Solution Configuration/Platform when using Blend? Any workarounds?

• Why is my web page left-aligned on iPad?

  I recently built a site and centered it using margin: 0 auto. I also wrapped elements in a .wrapper class with a width set to 960px and then had the parent element extend across the whole browser. When I view the Brands screen on an iPad though, the site is left-aligned and does not extend across the whole window. Any thoughts to why this might be happening, and how to correct it?
