  • Serial port and checkboxes updating

    - by hradecek
    in my app' i'm recieving data from serial port and save them into two bool arrays. And depends on these array i'm setting checkboxes. But checkboxes are not updating only when i change the tabs.... Here's how i'm doin' it(maybe there's better way how to do it) private void comboBoxCommunication_SelectionChanged(object sender, SelectionChangedEventArgs e) { if (serialPort.IsOpen) { recieveThread.Abort(); serialPort.Close(); } ComboBoxItem cbi = (ComboBoxItem)comboBoxCommunication.SelectedItem; portCommunication = cbi.Content.ToString(); serialPort.PortName = portCommunication; try { serialPort.Open(); recieveThread = new Thread(dataRecieving); prijmiThread.Start(); checkBoxI1.IsChecked = vstupy[0] ? true : false; checkBoxI2.IsChecked = inputs[1] ? true : false; checkBoxI3.IsChecked = inputs[2] ? true : false; checkBoxQ2.IsChecked = outputs[3] ? true : false; } catch (IOException ex) { MessageBox.Show(ex.ToString(), "Error!", MessageBoxButton.OK, MessageBoxImage.Error, MessageBoxResult.OK); } } private void dataRecieving() { if (serialPort.IsOpen) { int i = serialPort.ReadChar(); if (i == 'A') { inputs[0] = true; } else if (i == 'a') { inputs[0] = false; } if (i == 'B') { inputs[1] = true; } else if (i == 'b') { inputs[1] = false; } if (i == 'C') { inputs[2] = true; } else if (i == 'c') { inputs[2] = false; } if (i == 'D') { outputs[0] = true; } else if (i == 'd') { outputs[0] = false; } } }

  • UITableView cell appearance update not working - iPhone

    - by Jack Nutkins
    I have this piece of code which I'm using to set the alpha and accessibility of one of my tables cells dependent on a value stored in user defaults: - (void) viewDidAppear:(BOOL)animated{ [self reloadTableData]; } - (void) reloadTableData { if ([[userDefaults objectForKey:@"canDeleteReceipts"] isEqualToString:@"0"]) { NSIndexPath *path = [NSIndexPath indexPathForRow:0 inSection:8]; UITableViewCell *cell = [self.tableView cellForRowAtIndexPath:path]; cell.contentView.alpha = 0.2; cell.userInteractionEnabled = NO; } else { NSIndexPath *path = [NSIndexPath indexPathForRow:0 inSection:8]; UITableViewCell *cell = [self.tableView cellForRowAtIndexPath:path]; cell.contentView.alpha = 1; cell.userInteractionEnabled = YES; } if ([[userDefaults objectForKey:@"canDeleteMileages"] isEqualToString:@"0"]) { NSIndexPath *path = [NSIndexPath indexPathForRow:1 inSection:8]; UITableViewCell *cell = [self.tableView cellForRowAtIndexPath:path]; cell.contentView.alpha = 0.2; cell.userInteractionEnabled = NO; } else { NSIndexPath *path = [NSIndexPath indexPathForRow:1 inSection:8]; UITableViewCell *cell = [self.tableView cellForRowAtIndexPath:path]; cell.contentView.alpha = 1; cell.userInteractionEnabled = YES; } if ([[userDefaults objectForKey:@"canDeleteAll"] isEqualToString:@"0"]) { NSIndexPath *path = [NSIndexPath indexPathForRow:2 inSection:8]; UITableViewCell *cell = [self.tableView cellForRowAtIndexPath:path]; cell.contentView.alpha = 0.2; cell.userInteractionEnabled = NO; NSLog(@"In Here"); } else { NSIndexPath *path = [NSIndexPath indexPathForRow:2 inSection:8]; UITableViewCell *cell = [self.tableView cellForRowAtIndexPath:path]; cell.contentView.alpha = 1; cell.userInteractionEnabled = YES; } } The value stored in userDefaults is '0' so the cell in section 8 row 2 should be greyed out and disabled, however this doesn't happen and the cell is still selectable with an alpha of 1... The log statement 'In Here' is called so it seems to be executing the right code, but that code doesn't seem to be doing anything. Can anyone explain what I've done wrong? Thanks, Jack

  • DataGridView update datasource directly after changed Checkbox value

    - by SchlaWiener
I have a System.Windows.Forms DataGridView that is bound to a List<MyObject>. The class MyObject contains a boolean property that is bound to DataGridViewCheckboxCell within the DataGridView. public class MyObject { public decimal DefaultValue {get; set; } public bool HasCustomValue {get;set; } public decimal CustomValue {get;set; } public decimal CurrentValue { get { return HasCustomValue ? CustomValue : DefaultValue; } } If I change the value of HasCustomValue another (readonly) property CurrentValue changes it's value, too. That is done by implementing the INotifyPropertyChanged event (I left that part in the source example for simplicity) If I changed HasCustomValue from outside the DataGridView, the column bound to CurrentValue gets updated immediately. Howevery, If the users enables/disables the checkbox, HasCustomValue is not changed in the underlying datasource unless he leaves the column by clicking with the mouse or pressing the TAB key. Is there a way to force the grid to update the datasource directly after changing a checkbox value? If I bind a Control Property I have the ability to set the DataSourceUpdateMode to Windows.Forms.DataSourceUpdateMode.OnPropertyChanged but I haven't found anything like that in a DataGridView

  • Error handling in C++, constructors vs. regular methods

    - by Dennis Ritchie
I have a cheesesales.txt CSV file with all of my recent cheese sales. I want to create a class CheeseSales that can do things like these: CheeseSales sales("cheesesales.txt"); //has no default constructor cout << sales.totalSales() << endl; sales.outputPieChart("piechart.pdf"); The above code assumes that no failures will happen. In reality, failures will take place. In this case, two kinds of failures could occur: Failure in the constructor: The file may not exist, may not have read-permissions, contain invalid/unparsable data, etc. Failure in the regular method: The file may already exist, there may not be write access, too little sales data available to create a pie chart, etc. My question is simply: How would you design this code to handle failures? One idea: Return a bool from the regular method indicating failure. Not sure how to deal with the constructor. How would seasoned C++ coders do these kinds of things?

  • Error_No_Token by adding printer driver (c#)

    - by user1686388
I'm trying to add printer drivers using the windows API function AddPrinterDriver. The Win32 error 1008 (An attempt was made to reference a token that does not exist.) was always generated. My code is shown as following [DllImport("Winspool.drv")] static extern bool AddPrinterDriver(string Name, Int32 Level, [in] ref DRIVER_INFO_3 DriverInfo); [StructLayout(LayoutKind.Sequential)] public struct DRIVER_INFO_3 { public Int32 cVersion; public string Name; public string Environment; public string DriverPath; public string DataFile; public string ConfigFile; public string HelpFile; public string DependentFiles; public string MonitorName; public string DefaultDataType; } //....................... DRIVER_INFO_3 di = new DRIVER_INFO_3(); //...................... AddPrinterDriver(Environment.MachineName, 3, ref di); I have also tried to get a token by "ImpersonateSelf" before adding the printer driver. But the error 1008 insists. Does anyone have an idea? best regards.

  • Silverlight Data Binding for Collection in Stack Panel

    - by Blake Blackwell
I'm new to Silverlight, so I don't have a complete grasp of all the controls at my disposal. What I would like to do is use databinding and a view model to maintain a collection of items. Here is some mock code for what I'd like to do: Model public class MyItem { public string DisplayText { get; set; } public bool Enabled { get; set; } } ViewModel public class MyViewModel : INotifyPropertyChanged { private ObservableCollection<MyItem> _myItems = new ObservableCollection<MyItem>(); public ObservableCollection<MyItem> MyItems { get { return _myItems; } set { _myItems = value NotifyPropertyChanged(this, "MyItems"); } } } View <Grid x:Name="LayoutRoot" Background="White"> <StackPanel ItemsSource="{Binding MyItems}"> <StackPanel Orientation="Horizontal"> <CheckBox "{Binding Enabled, Mode=TwoWay}"></CheckBox> <TextBlock Text="{Binding DisplayText, Mode=TwoWay}" /> </StackPanel> </StackPanel> </Grid> So my end goal would be that every time I add another MyItem to the MyItems collection it would create a new StackPanel with checkbox and textblock. I don't have to use a stack panel but just thought I'd use that for this sample.

  • Boost binding a function taking a reference

  • Moq.Mock<T> - how to setup a method that takes an expression

  • Object does not exist after constructor?

    - by openbas
Hello, I have a constructor that looks like this (in c++): Interpreter::Interpreter() { tempDat == new DataObject(); tempDat->clear(); } the constructor of dataObject does absolutely nothing, and clear does this: bool DataObject::clear() { //clear the object if (current_max_id > 0) { indexTypeLookup.clear(); intData.clear(); doubleData.clear(); current_max_id = 0; } } Those members are defined as follows: std::map<int, int> indexTypeLookup; std::map<int, int> intData; std::map<int, double> doubleData; Now the strange thing is that I'm getting a segfault on tempDat-clear(); gdb says tempDat is null. How is that possible? The constructor of tempDat cannot fail, it looks like this: DataObject::DataObject() : current_max_id(0) { } I know there are probably better way's of making such a data structure, but I really like to know where this segfault problem is coming from..

  • NSPopupButton Bindings with Value Transformer

    - by rdelmar
I don't know if what I see with a popup button populated by bindings with a value transformer is the way it's supposed to be or not -- the unusual thing I'm seeing (at least with respect to what I've seen with value transformers and table views) is that the "value" parameter in the transformedValue: method is the whole array bound to the array controller, not the individual strings in the array. When I've done this with table views, the transformer is called once for each displayed row in the table, and the "value" parameter is whatever object is bound to that row and column, not the whole array that serves as the content array for the array controller. I have a very simple app to test this. In the app delegate there is this: +(void)initialize { RDTransformer *transformer = [[RDTransformer alloc] init]; [NSValueTransformer setValueTransformer:transformer forName:@"testTransformer"]; } - (void)applicationDidFinishLaunching:(NSNotification *)aNotification { self.theData = @[@{@"name":@"William", @"age":@"24"},@{@"name":@"Thomas", @"age":@"23"},@{@"name":@"Alexander", @"age":@"64"},@{@"name":@"James", @"age":@"47"}]; } In the RDTransformer class is this: + (Class)transformedValueClass { return [NSString class]; } +(BOOL)allowsReverseTransformation { return NO; } -(id)transformedValue:(id)value { NSLog(@"%@",value); return value; } In IB, I added an NSPopupButton to the window and an array controller to the objects list. The content array of the controller is bound to App Delegate.theData, and the Content Values of the popup button is bound to Array Controller.arrangedObjects.name with the value transformer, testTransformer. When I run the program, the log from the transformedValue: method is this: 2012-09-19 20:31:39.975 PopupBindingWithTransformer[793:303] ( ) 2012-09-19 20:31:40.019 PopupBindingWithTransformer[793:303] ( William, Thomas, Alexander, James ) This doesn't seem to be other people's experience from what I can see on SO. Is there something I'm doing wrong with either the bindings or the value transformer?

  • C++ iterators, default initialization and what to use as an uninitialized sentinel.

    - by Hassan Syed
The Context I have a custom template container class put together from a map and vector. The map resolves a string to an ordinal, and the vector resolves an ordinal (only an initial string to ordinal lookup is done, future references are to the vector) to the entry. The entries are modified intrusively to contain a a bool "assigned" and an iterator_type which is a const_iterator to the container class's map. My container class will use RCF's serialization code (which models boost::serialization) to serialize my container classes to nodes in a network. Serializing iterator's is not possible, or a can of worms, and I can easily regenerate them onces the vectors and maps are serialized on the remote site. The Question I need to default initialize, and be able to test that the iterator has not been assigned to (if it is assigned it is valid, if not it is invalid). Since map iterators are not invalidated upon operations performed on it (unless of course items are removed :D) am I to assume that map<x,y>::end() is a valid sentinel (regardless of the state of the map -- i.e., it could be empty) to initialize to ? I will always have access to the parent map, I'm just unsure wheather end() is the same as the map contents change. I don't want to use another level of indirection (--i.e., boost::optional) to achieve my goal, I'd rather forego compiler checks to correct logic, but it would be nice if I didn't need to. Misc This question exists, but most of its content seems non-sense. Assigning a NULL to an iterator is invalid according to g++ and clang++. This is another similar question, but it focuses on the common use-cases of iterators, which generally tends to be using the iterator to iterate, ofcourse in this use-case the state of the container isn't meant to change whilst iteration is going on.

  • iPhone - adding views and landscape orientation

    - by Franz
I got a problem with Cocoa touch and landscape orientation. I instantiate my view from a .xib; i added in my view controller - (BOOL)shouldAutorotateToInterfaceOrientation:(UIInterfaceOrientation)interfaceOrientation { return interfaceOrientation == UIInterfaceOrientationLandscapeRight; } to only allow landscape orientation. This works find for the first view i add.. if I add a second view however it is rotated again like the landscape view is shown in portrait mode (rotated 90 degree counterclockwise). I really don't know what is going on and can't find a workaround. I even tried to get behind what is happening just adding my view twice: MainMenuViewController* controller = [[MainMenuViewController alloc] initWithNibName:@"MainMenu" bundle:nil]; [window addSubview: controller.view]; MainMenuViewController* controller2 = [[MainMenuViewController alloc] initWithNibName:@"MainMenu" bundle:nil]; [window addSubview: controller2.view]; [window makeKeyAndVisible]; The view of controller is displayed correctly, while the view of controller2 is rotated by 90 degrees. Does anyone have an idea how this can happen? Thanks for your help.

  • How to Update with LINQ?

    - by DaveDev
currently, I'm doing an update similar to as follows, because I can't see a better way of doing it. I've tried suggestions that I've read in blogs but none work, such as http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb425822.aspx and http://weblogs.asp.net/scottgu/archive/2007/05/19/using-linq-to-sql-part-1.aspx Maybe these do work and I'm missing some point. Has anyone else had luck with them? // please note this isn't the actual code. // I've modified it to clarify the point I wanted to make // and also I didn't want to post our code here! public bool UpdateMyStuff(int myId, List<int> funds) { // get MyTypes that correspond to the ID I want to update IQueryable<MyType> myTypes = database.MyTypes.Where(xx => xx.MyType_MyId == myId); // delete them from the database foreach (db.MyType mt in myTypes) { database.MyTypes.DeleteOnSubmit(mt); } database.SubmitChanges(); // create a new row for each item I wanted to update, and insert it foreach (int fund in funds) { database.MyType mt = new database.MyType { MyType_MyId = myId, fund_id = fund }; database.MyTypes.InsertOnSubmit(mt); } // try to commit the insert try { database.SubmitChanges(); return true; } catch (Exception) { return false; throw; } } Unfortunately, there isn't a database.MyTypes.Update() method so I don't know a better way to do it. Can sombody suggest what I could do? Thanks. ..as a side note, why isn't there an Update() method?

  • setting the openCV configuration in an openGL project produce several errors

    - by GolSa
I have a win32 solution which is set for openGL; it works well; but I want to write a function which use functions of openCV; I set the configuration for openCV for both X86 and X64;;I commented the openCV function and just to test the correctness of configuration, I run it; but when I want to run it on X64 I faced with the error below: Error 1 error C2065: 'GWL_HINSTANCE' : undeclared identifier D:\matrix\matrixProjection\src\ControllerMain.cpp 35 1 matrixProjection Error 2 error C2664: 'CreateDialogParamW' : cannot convert parameter 4 from 'BOOL (__cdecl *)(HWND,UINT,WPARAM,LPARAM)' to 'DLGPROC' D:\matrix\matrixProjection\src\DialogWindow.cpp 47 1 matrixProjection Error 2 points to this line of code: HWND DialogWindow::create() { /*-->this line*/ handle = ::CreateDialogParam(instance, MAKEINTRESOURCE(id), parentHandle, Win::dialogProcedure, (LPARAM)controller); return handle; } but on Debug Win32 configure, it runs; I used openGL32 in my project; is there any probability to be the cause? is there any X64 version for openGL? I know that there is something needed in X64 mode which my solution can not handle it; I googled a lot about it but I did not find any solution; How can I solve that?

  • How can I exclude words with apostrophes when reading into a table of strings?

This exception is thrown no matter what character I use, so long as it is present within the words I am reading in. I am aware that it is probably a super simple fix, but I just really need another set of eyes to see it. Thanks in advance.

  • How to do buffered intersection checks on an IPoint?

    - by Quigrim
    How would I buffer an IPoint to do an intersection check using IRelationalOperator? I have, for arguments sake: IPoint p1 = xxx; IPoint p2 = yyy; IRelationalOperator rel1 = (IRelationalOperator)p1; if (rel.Intersects (p2)) // Do something But now I want to add a tolerance to my check, so I assume the right way to do that is by either buffering p1 or p2. Right? How do I add such a buffer? Note: the Intersects method I am using is an extension method I wrote to simplify my code. Here it is: /// <summary> /// Returns true if the IGeometry is intersected. /// This method negates the Disjoint method. /// </summary> /// <param name="relOp">The rel op.</param> /// <param name="other">The other.</param> /// <returns></returns> public static bool Intersects ( this IRelationalOperator relOp, IGeometry other) { return (!relOp.Disjoint (other)); }

  • Duplicate Symbol Linker Error (C++ help)

    - by Vash265
Hi. I'm learning some CSP (constraint satisfaction) theory stuff right now, and am using this library to parse XML files. I'm using Xcode as an IDE. My program compiles fine, but when it goes to link the files, I get a duplicate symbol error with the XMLParser_libxml2.hh file. My files are separated as such: A class header file that includes the XMLParser file above A class implementation file that include the class header file A main file that includes the class header file The duplicate symbol is occurring in main.o and classfile.o, but as far as I can tell, I'm not actually adding that .hh file twice. Full error: ld: duplicate symbol bool CSPXMLParser::UTF8String::to<std::basic_string<char, std::char_traits<char>, std::allocator<char> > >(std::basic_string<char, std::char_traits<char>, std::allocator<char> >&) constin /Users/vash265/CSP/Untitled/build/Untitled.build/Debug/Untitled.build/Objects-normal/x86_64/dStructFill.o and /Users/vash265/CSP/Untitled/build/Untitled.build/Debug/Untitled.build/Objects-normal/x86_64/main.o Copying the implementation of the class into the main file and taking the class implementation file out of the compilation target alleviates the error, but it's a disorganized mess this way, and I'll be adding more classes very soon (and it would be nice to have them in separate files). As I've come to understand it, this is caused by the file (XMLParser_libxml2.hh) having both the class and function definition and implementation in one file (and it seems as though this might have been necessary due to the use of templates in that 'header' file). Any ideas on how to get around sticking all my class files in my main.cpp? (I've tried ifdefs, they don't work).

  • cancelPreviousPerformRequestWithTarget is not canceling my previously delayed thread started with pe

    - by jmurphy
Hello, I've launched a delayed thread using performSelector but the user still has the ability to hit the back button on the current view causing dealloc to be called. When this happens my thread still seems to be called which causes my app to crash because the properties that thread is trying to write to have been released. To solve this I am trying to call cancelPreviousPerformRequestsWithTarget to cancel the previous request but it doesn't seem to be working. Below are some code snippets. - (void) viewDidLoad { [self performSelector:@selector(myStopUpdatingLocation) withObject:nil afterDelay:6]; } (void)viewWillDisappear:(BOOL)animated { [NSObject cancelPreviousPerformRequestsWithTarget:self selector:@selector(myStopUpdatingLocation) object:nil]; } Am I doing something incorrect here? The method myStopUpdatingLocation is defined in the same class that I'm calling the perform requests. A little more background. The function that I'm trying to implement is to find a users location, search google for some locations around that location and display several annotations on the map. On viewDidLoad I start updating the location with CLLocationManager. I've build in a timeout after 6 seconds if I don't get my desired accuracy within the timeout and I'm using a performSelector to do this. What can happen is the user clicks the back button in the view and this thread will still execute even though all my properties have been released causing a crash. Thanks in advance! James

  • Make Errors: Missing Includes in C++ Script?

    - by Abs
Hello all, I just got help in how to compile this script a few mintues ago on SO but I have managed to get errors. I am only a beginner in C++ and have no idea what the below erros means or how to fix it. This is the script in question. I have read the comments from some users suggesting they changed the #include parts but it seems to be exactly what the script has, see this comment. [root@localhost wkthumb]# qmake-qt4 && make g++ -c -pipe -O2 -g -pipe -Wall -Wp,-D_FORTIFY_SOURCE=2 -fstack-protector --param=ssp-buffer-size=4 -m32 -march=i386 -mtune=generic -fasynchronous-unwind-tables -Wall -W -D_REENTRANT -DQT_NO_DEBUG -DQT_GUI_LIB -DQT_CORE_LIB -I/usr/lib/qt4/mkspecs/linux-g++ -I. -I/usr/include/QtCore -I/usr/include/QtGui -I/usr/include -I. -I. -I. -o main.o main.cpp main.cpp:5:20: error: QWebView: No such file or directory main.cpp:6:21: error: QWebFrame: No such file or directory main.cpp:8: error: expected constructor, destructor, or type conversion before ‘*’ token main.cpp:11: error: ‘QWebView’ has not been declared main.cpp: In function ‘void loadFinished(bool)’: main.cpp:18: error: ‘view’ was not declared in this scope main.cpp:18: error: ‘QWebSettings’ has not been declared main.cpp:19: error: ‘QWebSettings’ has not been declared main.cpp:20: error: ‘QWebSettings’ has not been declared main.cpp: In function ‘int main(int, char**)’: main.cpp:42: error: ‘view’ was not declared in this scope main.cpp:42: error: expected type-specifier before ‘QWebView’ main.cpp:42: error: expected `;' before ‘QWebView’ make: *** [main.o] Error 1 I have the web kit on my Fedora Core 10 machine: qt-4.5.3-9.fc10.i386 qt-devel-4.5.3-9.fc10.i386 Thanks all for any help

  • How to keep the CPU usage down while running an SDL program?

    - by budwiser
I've done a very basic window with SDL and want to keep it running until I press the X on window. #include "SDL.h" const int SCREEN_WIDTH = 640; const int SCREEN_HEIGHT = 480; int main(int argc, char **argv) { SDL_Init( SDL_INIT_VIDEO ); SDL_Surface* screen = SDL_SetVideoMode( SCREEN_WIDTH, SCREEN_HEIGHT, 0, SDL_HWSURFACE | SDL_DOUBLEBUF ); SDL_WM_SetCaption( "SDL Test", 0 ); SDL_Event event; bool quit = false; while (quit != false) { if (SDL_PollEvent(&event)) { if (event.type == SDL_QUIT) { quit = true; } } SDL_Delay(80); } SDL_Quit(); return 0; } I tried adding SDL_Delay() at the end of the while-clause and it worked quite well. However, 80 ms seemed to be the highest value I could use to keep the program running smoothly and even then the CPU usage is about 15-20%. Is this the best way to do this and do I have to just live with the fact that it eats this much CPU already on this point?

  • iOS 6 Rotation issue - No rotation from Presented Modal View Controller

    - by hart1994
I have a MainViewController which has a button which pushes a new view (InfoViewController), via flip horizontailly. like so: controller.modalTransitionStyle = UIModalTransitionStyleFlipHorizontal; [self presentModalViewController:controller animated:YES]; The MainView Controller supports Portrait and PortraitUpsideDown. Like so: - (BOOL)shouldAutorotate { return YES; } - (NSUInteger)supportedInterfaceOrientations { return (UIInterfaceOrientationMaskPortrait | UIInterfaceOrientationMaskPortraitUpsideDown); } In my InfoViewController it also states the above code. In my AppDelegate it has this in the LaunchOptions: [self.window setRootViewController:self.mainViewController]; In my app.plist file it supports all orientations. This is because other views need to support landscape as well. So On my MainViewController and InfoViewController I need only Portrait and PortraitUpsideDown. But on another view I need all orintations. My MainViewController works fine, but my InfoViewController is working for all orientations. I am having extreme diffulty trying to get this to work in iOS6. I have researched other posts and tried the assistance other people have provided, but had no luck whatsoever. Please can someone help me acheive this thank you. And I'm a Objective-C newbie :p
