• suggestions for fast reliable proxy IPs like codeen but with posting?

  Hi, I am looking for a list like one offered by codeen http://codeen.cs.princeton.edu/ of fast reliable proxy servers.. I just want to be able to "post" on usenet or yahoo groups with them.. I think the codeen ones don't allow HTTP-POST I don't need them for downloading or for torrents, or even for any images.. they can block images to keep browsing faster. I know it's not a list, but I did try TOR once, but it was horribly slow.

• ldap not properly resolving host

  Hi, I just changed the IP address of my (openldap) ldap server and despite DNS propagating, ldap still isn't resolving the new address correctly. When I run "host myserver.com" the proper ip address is returned. There is no entry in /etc/hosts for myserver.com. But when I run: ldapsearch -d 1 -x "uid" -H ldap://myserver.com I see the old address. How can I force ldap to check DNS for the proper IP address? thanks, Mike

  Hi guys, some of you might have read my previous question "Weird laptop display", I've got another question regarding the same issue. I should've mentioned I went for higher resolution display. Instead of XGA display (1024x768 px) I went for SXGA+ (1400x1050 px).   HI, I follow your istruction and everythig works. I have an DHCP server than it assign "Ip client" without gateway. Internet with IE or Firefox Browser works but FTP service doesn't work. In squid.conf I have put a line: acl Safe_ports port 80 21 443 389 5307 8080 3144 8282 88 8443 20443 11438 1443 8050 30021 10443 4747 4774 1384 Have I to put gateway in DHCP Server? I haven't been able to find an argument to supply to modprobe, or a sysctl knob to tweak, but I know there must be ways to get more slots based on some Google sleuthing.   Hi, I use Kubuntu. Sometimes after after I run a program from the terminal window and then kill it, I can no longer see what I'm typing. The terminal window continues to function, and if I run 'ls' I get a listing as normal. The only strange thing is that I can't see what I type. Any ideas what how to resolve this?
