  Hi! I'd like to run this command: watch -n 1 tail -n 200 log/site_dev.log | grep Doctrine But it does not run, because "I think" that the grep tries to run on the watch instead of the tail... Is there a way to do something like watch -n 1 (tail -n 200 log/site_dev.log | grep Doctrine) Thanks a lot!

• Storage server 2003 shadow copy backups deleted!! help.. quick response would be appreciated

  hi there, we have a 1tb storage server i've just gone to transfer a 100Gb file across to it. And it has deleted the Shadow copy from googling i understand that this probably occured: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/826936 is there any way of recovering those shadow copies back?   Hi, Is there an app or utility in Windows that shows me the peak value of in-use memory (i.e., the total of the shareable and private memory of processes, drivers and the operating system) (not standby nor free)? I've got lots of memory and I'm installing an in-memory file cache, called "eBoostr", and would like an idea how much memory to allocate for it and still avoid deteriorating page faults.   Hi experts, I'm having an issue with my Windows Server 2008. I can successfuly connect to it with FTP(port 21), remote desktop(whatever the port number is), https but not with simple http or port 80, from the outside of my LAN. Is there some settings I don't know about regarding this special port on the firewall or on IIS7? For your information, I can connect to port 80 as long as I'm on the same LAN, but as soon as the request come from the outside, I get nothing... Please help Thank you

  Hi everyone, at the moment i have a dual monitor setup on my main PCIe gfx card. I know that on windows it is almost impossible to have a second card (eg no thrills PCI card) running without having an SLI motherboard because of a driver issue. Well this was my conclusion after many weeks of research.   Hi, when I execute ./script &>> log.txt I get a nice logfile, but if I have the same command executed by cron, lets say the crontab looks like this: * * * * * '/home/user/script &>> /home/user/log.txt' the log.txt will just be empty, I tried " and ' and ` and no ticks to enclose the command, any idea why the streams won't get written into the file?

  Hi I'm a used Ubuntu user on a pc, and I like the french keyboard layout because it allows me to type accentued characters easily. I found a win-fr keyboard layout but it's much like windows and not so good. I found xmodmap.fr keyboard layout and I'd like to know if it was possible use it with my Mac SL 10.6.5, maybe I could do xmodmap xmodmap.fr or a way to convert to mac layout file. Any ideas?!

• Why do my VMware Images get so large?

  Hi, I have a Centos VMware Image that I have recreated a couple times, and I notice that after a while it gets pretty large. It starts out at 8 GBs when I make it, and a week or two later it is 25GB and then a month later it is a whole 50GB or so. I am not installing anything crazy on it, and my disk usage on the VM is pretty low. Is there an option that could be affecting the size of these VMs?
