  • Create a (edit) hyperlink in front of dropdownbox with jQuery

    - by CziX
    I have a table with some data. All data is contained in dropdownboxes and textbox. But it isn't easy to see, what is newly written input and what is data from the database. So I want to create a (edit) after these boxes, and replace the boxes with a literal where the contained value in the dropdownbox stands. When the edit-button is pushed the literal goes away and the dropdownbox appears instead, so it is possible to edit the data. This is all, the jQuery don't have to save the data to database, I have functionality to that in a save-button. I don't want to use any extra plugin to jQuery, because it seems to be a fairly simpel task. Any good ideas?

  • Define and send a JSON object array

    - by Eric
    I'm looking for a way to define and send a JSON object array. I've figured out how to define a single JSON object, turn it into a string and send it, but what about an array of this type? Probably something simple I'm overlooking... var myColumnSetting = { "ColumnName": name, "ColumnIndex": index } convert it to a string var myJSONText = JSON.stringify(myColumnSetting, false);

  • Why does var evaluate to System.Object in "foreach (var row in table.Rows)"?

    - by DanM
    When I enter this foreach statement... foreach (var row in table.Rows) ...the tooltip for var says class System.Object I'm confused why it's not class System.Data.DataRow. (In case you're wondering, yes, I have using System.Data at the top of my code file.) If I declare the type explicitly, as in... foreach (DataRow row in table.Rows) ...it works fine with no errors. Also if I do... var numbers = new int[] { 1, 2, 3 }; foreach (var number in numbers) ...var evaluates to struct System.Int32. So, the problem is not that var doesn't work in a foreach clause. So, there's something strange about DataRowCollection where the items don't automatically evaluate to DataRow. But I can't figure out what it is. Does anyone have an explanation?

  • NHibernate / ORM - Child Update over Web Service

    - by tyndall
    What is the correct way to UPDATE a child object with NHibernate but not have to "awake" the parent object. Lets say you would like to try to avoid this because the parent object is large or expensive to initiate. Lets assume classes are called Author(parent) and Book(child). (still, trying to avoid instantiating Author) Book comes back over a web service as XML. It gets deserialized back into a CLR object. Book has an AuthorId property which allows this to happen. But it also has a Author property. Problem, comes when you try to SaveOrUpdate() Book and the author_id in the database gets wiped out because the Author was null when the object gets deserialized. This seems like this would be a common problem. What is the workaround? Also, if you instantiate the Author and it has a Books property. The book you are trying to update is already one of these books (List<Book>). We have also run into the "a different object with the same identifier value was already associated with the session" problems. What is the standard process to update a child over a web service?

  • How to clear a textbox based on a checkbox using Javascript

    - by LoftyWofty
    I am trying to code in javascript (to avoid validation triggers at the server) to clear a text box if the checkbox associated with it is unchecked. I have this code ... <input type="checkbox" id="chkOTHER" onclick="document.getElementById('txtOtherFlag').value='';" /> <asp:TextBox ID="txtOtherFlag" runat="server" AutoPostBack="True" CausesValidation="True" ValidationGroup="ValidationGroup1"></asp:TextBox> The problem is the Javascript inside the checkbox is not triggering to remove the value in the text box. Even if this worked, it's incorrect as it would blank out the text box every time the checkbox is triggered whether it is checked or not. I need to resolve this in the client side only. Thank you

  • Radio button is not funtioning

    - by user3614421
    I'm having problem with my radio button in my gridview. I want to select any row one by one so that I can perform UPDATE, DELETE, and DISPLAY the row. When I select the button, the page will be refreshed and the button I selected before is not selected anymore. So I can't click any menu to update, delete or display the row. I noticed this is happening when I set the Autopostback = "True". How can I solve it? Any idea? Below are my codes: Page: <script language="javascript" type="text/javascript"> function radiobtn(id) { var rdBtn = document.getElementById(id); var List = document.getElementsByTagName("input"); for (i = 0; i < List.length; i++) { if (List[i].type == "radio" && List[i].id != rdBtn.id) { List[i].checked = false; } } } </script> <asp:RadioButton ID="CheckDel" runat="server" onclick="javascript:radiobtn(this.id)" OnCheckedChanged="CheckDel_CheckedChanged" AutoPostBack="True" /> server end: protected void CheckDel_CheckedChanged(object sender, EventArgs e) { CheckBox chkStatus = (CheckBox)sender; GridViewRow row = (GridViewRow)chkStatus.NamingContainer; Session["datestart"] = row.Cells[1].Text; Session["empid"] = row.Cells[2].Text; Session["empname"] = row.Cells[3].Text; Session["days"] = row.Cells[4].Text; Session["leavetype"] = row.Cells[5].Text; Session["leavestatus"] = row.Cells[6].Text; bool status = chkStatus.Checked; } Please help

  • Why delegate types are derived from MulticastDelegate class why not it directly derive from Delegate class?

    - by Vijay
    I have a very basic question regarding delegate types. I compared the memebers of Delegate and MulticastDelegate classes in object browser and I couldn't find any new additional member present in MulticastDelegate. I also noticed that the Delegate class has GetInvocationList virtual method. So I assume that the Delegate class should have the capability to hold references to multiple methods. If my assumption is correct I wonder why not custom delegate types directly derive from the Delegate class instead of MulticastDelegate class. Not sure what I am missing here. Please help me understand the difference.

    I have a Javascript function that is called from the onchange method in a DropDownList. However I'm getting the error "Cannot have multiple items selected in a DropDownList." on line 14. This happens when the page is reloaded for other purposes. Why is it getting hung here when the method shouldn't even be getting called? Line 12: { Line 13: var hfSelected = document.getElementById("<%=hfSelectedValue.ClientID%>"); Line 14: var ddlExposure = document.getElementById("<%=ddlExposure.ClientID%>"); Line 15: hfSelected.value = ddlExposure.options[ddlExposure.selectedIndex].text + "|" + ddlExposure.options[ddlExposure.selectedIndex].value; Line 16: }

  • Is there a unique computer identifier that can be used reliably even in a virtual machine?

    - by SaUce
    I'm writing a small client program to be run on a terminal server. I'm looking for a way to make sure that it will only run on this server and in case it is removed from the server it will not function. I understand that there is no perfect way of securing it to make it impossible to ran on other platforms, but I want to make it hard enough to prevent 95% of people to try anything. The other 5% who can hack it is not my concern. I was looking at different Unique Identifiers like Processor ID, Windows Product ID, Computer GUID and other UIs. Because the terminal server is a virtual machine, I cannot locate anything that is completely unique to this machine. Any ideas on what I should look into to make this 95% secure. I do not have time or the need to make it as secure as possible because it will defeat the purpose of the application itself. I do not want to user MAC address. Even though it is unique to each machine it can be easily spoofed. As far as Microsoft Product ID, because our system team clones VM servers and we use corporate volume key, I found already two servers that I have access to that have same Product ID Number. I have no Idea how many others out there that have same Product ID By 95% and 5% I just simply wanted to illustrate how far i want to go with securing this software. I do not have precise statistics on how many people can do what. I believe I might need to change my approach and instead of trying to identify the machine, I will be better off by identifying the user and create group based permission for access to this software.
