  • Which substring of the string1 matches with the string2.

    - by Harikrishna
There are two strings. String str1="Order Number Order Time Trade Number"; String str2="Order Tm"; Then I want to know that str2 matches with which substring in the str1. string regex = Regex.Escape(str2.Replace(@"\ ", @"\s*"); bool isColumnNameMatched = Regex.IsMatch(str1, regex, RegexOptions.IgnoreCase); I am using regex because "Order Tm" will also matches "Order Time".It gives bool value that matches occurred or not. Like str2="Order Tm" then it should return like in the str1,Order Time is the substring where matches is occurred.

  • Entity Framework 5 not updating navigation properties in both entities

    - by Taylor
I have updated a project to use the new Entity framework shipped with VS2012, however I have run into some of my code throwing exceptions. In the VS10 version of EF I was able to create or modify and Entity and use its navigation properties before calling SaveChanges() For example: A Navigation property of a client having a collection of Invoices. Client c = new Client(); Invoice I = new Invoice(); c.Invoices.Add(I); I would then be able to use Invoice.Client somewhere in my code before actually saving it without issue. Now Invoice.Client == null. Similarly in setting I.Client = C, I does not show up under C.Invoices What am I missing here or is this just simply how EF5 is?

  • UI updates not happening in the expected order

    - by allonym
I have a Panel which hosts a number of child controls in a grid layout. The child controls each consist of a Panel with a PictureBox and a Label. When one of these child controls is clicked it becomes "selected" (which basically entails changing its background to a different color) and an event is fired. In the handler for this event, an image is displayed in a PictureBox on a separate form. In code, the background of the child control is definitely changed before firing the event, but for some reason it never updates at runtime until after the image has updated in the other Form. I've tried to Invalidate() and Refresh() the child control before firing the event, without effect. Why is this happening, and what can I do to set it right?

    - by husainnz
Hi, I'd like to stop IE8 from sharing my sessions in one of two ways (or both if possible): Through configuring the browser to always do this (so I can force my users to configure their browsers in this way). Through code in my web application. Thanks.

  • Strings in ASP?

    - by TSL
Hi All, I have some APSX code that I am trying to modify for a programmer that is out on medicaly leave. I am not an ASP guy, but rather C++ So what I want to do is delare a string, check the first 4 characters and if it is 'http' do something, if not, something else. Here is what I have: string strYT= Left(objFile, 4); if (strYT=="http") { pnlYT.Visible = true; pnlIntro.Visible = false; pnlVideo.Visible = false; } else { pnlYT.Visible = false; pnlIntro.Visible = false; pnlVideo.Visible = true; PrintText(objFile); } But I get errors like: Compiler Error Message: CS0103: The name 'Left' does not exist in the class or namespace 'ASP.zen_aspx' My googling turns up many examples of doing it just like this.....

  • MVC and Checkboxes...leaves a bit to be desired

    - by Josh
Here is my problem. I have a list of models that are displayed to the user. On the left is a checkbox for each model to indicate that the user wants to choose this model (in this case, we're building products a user can add to their shopping cart). The model has no concept of being chosen...it strictly has information about the product in question. I've talked with a few other developers after having gone through and the best I could come up with is getting the formcollection and string parsing the key values to determine whether the checkbox is checked or not. This doesn't seem ideal. I was thinking there would be something more strongly bound, but I can't figure out a way to do it. I tried creating another model that had a boolean property to represent being checked and a property of the model and passing a list of that model type to the view and creating a ActionResult on the controller that accepts a list of the new model / checked property, but it comes back null. Am I just thinking too much like web forms and should just continue on with parsing checkbox values?

  • How duplicate an object in a list and update property of duplicated objects ?

    - by user359706
Hello What would be the best way to duplicate an object placed in a list of items and change a property of duplicated objects ? I thought proceed in the following manner: - get object in the list by "ref" + "article" - Cloned the found object as many times as desired (n times) - Remove the object found - Add the clones in the list What do you think? A concrete example: Private List<Product> listProduct; listProduct= new List<Product>(); Product objProduit_1 = new Produit; objProduct_1.ref = "001"; objProduct_1.article = "G900"; objProduct_1.quantity = 30; listProducts.Add(objProduct_1); ProductobjProduit_2 = new Product; objProduct_2.ref = "002"; objProduct_2.article = "G900"; objProduct_2.quantity = 35; listProduits.Add(objProduct_2); desired method: public void updateProductsList(List<Product> paramListProducts,Produit objProductToUpdate, int32 nbrDuplication, int32 newQuantity){ ... } Calling method example: updateProductsList(listProducts,objProduct_1,2,15); Waiting result: Replace follow object : ref = "001"; article = "G900"; quantite = 30; By: ref = "001"; article = "G900"; quantite = 15; ref = "001"; article = "G900"; quantite = 15; The Algorithm is correct? Would you have an idea of the method implementation "updateProductsList" Thank you in advance for your help.

  • What is Registry Condition?

    - by serhio
I have a setup project and I add some registry keys. Say I have a key ..\MyApplication\ServerIp key. When installing the second time I'd like that the ancient value will not be overridden. 1) What kind of "Condition" should I set in the setup properties of ServerIp registry key. 2) Is it possible to recuperate the ancient value from registry and display it in the "ServerIp" textBox in the installer dialog box? In this case the override could be unconditional.

  • Ternary operators in C#

    - by pm_2
With the ternary operator, it is possible to do something like the following (assuming Func1() and Func2() return an int: int x = (x == y) ? Func1() : Func2(); However, is there any way to do the same thing, without returning a value? For example, something like (assuming Func1() and Func2() return void): (x == y) ? Func1() : Func2(); I realise this could be accomplished using an if statement, I just wondered if there was a way to do it like this.

  • Different Assembly Name for Each Platform Target

    - by Murray
I need to generate different assembly names depending on the platform target. For example, I have a console application "bob.exe". Instead of building for AnyCPU, I need to build explicitly for x86 and x64 and thus want "bob32.exe" and "bob64.exe". The Application tab in Visual Studio 2010 project options disables the Platform combobox. Build Events also don't allow options per platform so I can't rename it afterwards very easily.

    - by amalatsliit
I got a controller in my mvc application like below. public class BaseController: Controller { protected void LogInfo() { logger.InfoFormat("[SessionID: {0}, RemoteIP: {1}]", Session.SessionID, Request.UserHostAddress); } } public class FirstController : BaseController { public ActionResult Index(string name) { LogInfo(); getQueryString(); if(IsValidRec()) { if(Errors())) { return View("Error"); } var viewname = getViewName(name); return view(viewname); } else return view("NotFound"); } } I need to create another controller(SecondController ) with same ActionResult method that FirstController has but without any implementation. Because I dont wont to repeat same code in 2 ActionResult methods. what is the best way to do that. • What is the point of Convert.ToDateTime(bool)?

    - by Paul Alan Taylor
I was doing some type conversion routines last night for a system I am working on. One of the conversions involves turning string values into their DateTime equivalents. While doing this, I noticed that the Convert.ToDateTime() method had an overload which accepted a boolean parameter. First question? Under what circumstances could this ever be useful? I went a little further and tried to execute the method in QuickWatch. Either way ( true or false ), the routine returns an InvalidCastException. Second question? Why is this method even here?

  • Many Buttons on a Page, Need to send back Unique Post Data with each

    - by CoffeeAddict
I'm listing out a bunch of cars with a button next to them that when clicked will need to perform a GET but also sends over that item's model.Name: @using (Html.BeginForm("GetCarUrl", "Car", FormMethod.Get, new { model = Model })) { if(Model.Cars != null && Model.Cars.Count > 0) { foreach (CarContent car in Model.Cars) { <p>@car.Name</p> } <input type="button" value="Get Car Url" class="submit" /> } So the page renders a bunch of hyperlinks and buttons: [hyperlink1] [submit] [hyperlink2] [submit] [hyperlink3] [submit] [hyperlink4] [submit] [hyperlink5] [submit] ... When a user clicks on any of the submits, I need to pass back its corresponding @car.CarType for that specific hyperlink Not sure how to go about this. My action method expects a @car.CarType for that specific car hyperlink to be sent to it
