  Or is turning into a fault the same as deleting that thing completely? I mean... is that guy then just still alive as a super lightweight object with no big data inside, or is it actually deleted? Or: Is a fault an object in memory with low footprint, or is that a "virtual object that COULD be there, but isn't yet"?

• utl_file.FCLOSE() is slow with large files

  We are using utl_file in Oracle 10g to copy a blob from a table row to a file on the file system and when we call utl_file.fclose() it takes a long time. It's a 10mb file, not very big, and it takes just over a minute to complete. Anyone know why this would be so slow? Thanks

Right now, I populate my table by making a fetch request for all of my data in viewDidLoad. I'd rather make individual fetch requests in my tableView:cellForRowAtIndexPath:. Can anyone tell me which is more efficient, and why? In other words, is it much less efficient to make lots of small requests as opposed to one big request?

I understand hibernate.jdbc.batch_size is a application level parameter, wanted to know if i can use it specifically for certain HQL inserts and not others. If both classes contained an identical method, does the larger class take longer to execute it?
