  • Html 5 Time Tag not recognized by IE8 when cloning

    - by matsientst
    I have been having trouble getting IE to recognize the new Time tag in this context. This all works great in FF. Here is the code: var origComment = $('.articleComment:first div'); if (origComment.length > 0) { var commentHtml = origComment.clone(true); commentHtml.find('time').text('today'); var html = '<article class="' + ((side == 'LEFT') ? '' : 'that') + '">' + commentHtml.html() + '</article>'; $(html).insertAfter('.articleComment:last'); The HTML looks something like this: <article class="articleComment that"> <div id="156" class="parent"> <div class="byline"> <p>Posted <time pubdate="pubdate" datetime="2010-05-07T09:11:08">today</time> by<br/> <a class="username" href="/u/matt">matt</a> </p> <p class="report"><a href="#">Report?</a></p> </div> <div class="comment">left</div> </div> </article> IE can find the Time tag but it returns a collection of 2 elements. I assume the beginning and ending. However, I cannot access it to modify it. I have tried val(), html() and text(). I also can't drop to the actual HTMLElement. I can't get(0).innerHTML. But, if I .get(0).tagName it actually is the Time tag I've got. Any ideas? I hope this makes sense.

  • Eror while showing returned value on parent window from chield (Dialog box) window using JSF Trinida

    - by Navnath
Hi There, I am using Myfaces and Trinidad tld's for page design. In that, I am trying to implement Dialog box which will going to open on button click with tacking some value from parent window and return result to Parent window. Now the problem is I can send value to Dialog box and also get return from dialog box successfully, but there is problem to show return value on Parent window because parent window is not reflecting that value and ask for refresh page. When I refresh page, it again open the pop up, i.e. it resending the previous request. Here is my return code. private UIXInput input; public UIXInput getInput() { return input; } public void setInput(UIXInput input) { this.input = input; } public void returned(ReturnEvent event) { if (event.getReturnValue() != null) { getInput().setValue(event.getReturnValue()); RequestContext afContext = RequestContext.getCurrentInstance(); afContext.addPartialTarget(getInput()); } } Next is I have bind input variable with field which need to reflect return value. Here is .jspx code. I have download Trinidad dialog code and try to run on local system, but it not showing any dialog box. But once I remove partialSubmit="true" attribute from comment button which shows dialog box, Then I can see dialog box. Is this attribute making an above error? I hope I have explain my problem clearly. Please...Please let me know any any kind of solution, suggestion. I have spend almost a week to resolve this issue, but.......didn't succeed. Thank You in advance, Navnath Kumbhar.

  • Jquery canvas touch count

    - by user897764
Can someone help me with a script I'm working with. http://jsfiddle.net/InVAMPED/XsG4e/4/ What I'm trying to achieve is placing a image where the user touches(ipad). There will be say 5 images that will each get attached once only. So first touch places img1, second touch imag2 etc untill all the images have been placed. Problem with my fsfiddle example is that when on ipad it doesnt count the first touch so you place the first image twice. it does duplicate the image on the second time just moves it to the second touches coordinates, then move on to 2, 3, 4, 5 as it should. any advice? or help to do this a better way? thanks

  • Implementing zoom on a fixed point, javascript/canvas

    - by csiz
I want to implement zooming on the mouse pointer with the mouse wheel. That is scaling the image while the point under the mouse pointer stays fixed. Here is my code, which doesn't work very well var scala = 1 + event.wheelDelta / 1000; canvas.context.translate(-canvas.mouse.x * ( scala - 1 ) / canvas.scale,-canvas.mouse.y * ( scala - 1 ) / canvas.scale); canvas.context.scale(scala,scala); canvas.scale *= scala; //canvas.scale is my variable that is initially set to 1. //canvas.mouse is my variable that represents the mouse position relative to the canvas

    - by panthro
I have a long list of li's. <ul> <li> <img src="test.jpg"> </li> <li> <img src="test.jpg"> </li> //etc Each li has this styling: width: 10%; display: inline-block; vertical-align: middle; When I get to more than 10 li's in a row, they go on to the next row. Is this the correct way to do it? or should I wrap each 10 li's into something that breaks the line? What the best/correct method? i intialy chose this method as it would be easily to loop out data from a database.

  • JQM dialog is opening in new page instead of dialog

    - by K D
    Thank you for taking the time to read my question. I'm trying to get a dialog box to open using Jquery mobile. I followed the documentation and used the data-rel="dialog" notation along with the data-transition="pop". Instead of a dialog appearing on the same page, I get a brand new page with the dialog appearing. Can someone kindly assist me on how to fix this functionality. Here is my code for the initial main page: <article> <ul data-role="listview" data-split-icon="star" data-split-theme="d" data-inset="true"> <li><a href="#black_seed_desc" data-rel="dialog" ><img src="black_seed.jpg"/> <h3>Black Seed Oil</h3> </a> <a href="#black_seed_purchase" data-rel="dialog" data-transition="pop">Purchase Black Seed Oil</a> </li> </ul> </article> Here is my code for the dialog page: <div data-role="dialog" id="black_seed_purchase" data-theme="c"> <section data-role="content"> <h1>Purchase Black Seed Oil?</h1> <p>By purchasing Black Seed Oil you will receive an email receipt copy sent to you for your reference.</p> <a href="#purchase_blackseed" data-inline="true" data-corners="true" data-rel="back" data-role="button" data-shadow="true" data-iconshadow="true" data-wrapperrels="span"> <span> <span>Buy: $49.99</span> <span>&nbsp;</span> </span> </a> <a href="#" data-role="button" data-rel="back" data-inline="true" data-corners="true" data-wrapperrels="span" data-shadow="true" data-iconshawdow="true"> <span> Cancel </span> </a> </section> </div> Here is a working example. http://jsfiddle.net/Gajotres/w3ptm/?

  • Will Visual Studio 2010 support HTML 5?

    - by Chris
Since Visual Studio 2010 is slated for release in March of 2010 and HTML 5 is now starting to be used even more widely, I would like to know if Visual Studio will ship with HTML 5 templates, standard controls and support for the more common markup? A definition for support of HTML 5 would be that any new version of Visual Studio should have similar support for code-completion, validation and markup that is currently supported for HTML 4.01 and XHTML 1.0 and 1.1. Update From the Visual Web Develolper Team Blog: HTML 5 intellisense and validation schema for Visual Studio 2008 and Visual Web Developer is for downloading. Follow the instructions posted on the page to install the new scheme. Seems like the Visual Studio Team will be supporting HTML 5 after all.

  • Designing entire webpages as SVG files

    - by user1311390
Disclaimer I realize that given the absurdity of the title, this sounds like a troll. However, it's a genuine question. My background involves OpenGL / x86 assembly. I've recently started learning web programming. I really like SVG + CSS, and was wondering -- why do people not design entire webpages in SVG? Context SVG provides beautiful primitive: quadratic + cubic bezier curves; lines + filling -- all as vector graphics SVG provides text SVG provides affine transformations Questions Are there examples of people designing entire websites as a giant SVG file? If not, what the limitations? Are there performance hits when using SVG primitives as opposed to divs/tables?

  • How to make image's background transparency to 0?

    - by pheromix
There are images displayed inside a HTML table in a PHP code : The code of this table is : for ($i = 0; $i < $data['list']['cnt']; $i++) { $tabRows[$i][1]['width'] = "45%"; $tabRows[$i][1]['align'] = "center"; $tabRows[$i][1]['value'] = '<img src="'.HTTP_FIGURES.$data['list'][$i]['fig_image'].'" />'; } As you can see the background of the images are seen and they make the page dirty. So I want to remove the background of each image. How to do that ?

  • JavaScript: Changing src-attribute of a embed-tag

    - by Mike
I have the following scenario. I show the user some audio files from the server. The user clicks on one, then onFileSelected is eventually executed with both the selected folder and file. What the function does is change the source from the embedded object. So in a way, it is a preview of the selected file before accepting it and save the user's choice. A visual aid. HTML <embed src="/resources/audio/_webbook_0001/embed_test.mp3" type="audio/mpeg" id="audio_file"> JavaScript function onFileSelected(file, directory) { jQuery('embed#audio_file').attr('src', '/resources/audio/'+directory+'/'+file); }; Now, this works fine in Firefox, but Safari and Chrome simply refuse to change the source, regardless of Operating System. jQuery finds the object (jQuery.size() returns 1), it executes the code, but no change in the HTML Code. Why does Safari prevent me from changing the <embed> source and how can I circumvent this?

  • Drawing Image onto Canvas Stretches Image?

    - by Fred Finkle
I have this code (stolen from the web): function readIt() { var reader = new FileReader(); reader.onload = (function(e) { var img = new Image(); img.src = e.target.result; var c = document.getElementById("canvas"); var ctx = c.getContext("2d"); ctx.drawImage(img, 0, 0); } ); reader.readAsDataURL(document.getElementById('userImage').files[0]); } Which works up to a point. The canvas's width and height are set to the size of the image, but only the top left of the image appears - It appears to be stretched so it fits all the space allocated to the canvas (enough to display the whole image - 615px x 615px). If I add an <img> element sized the same size as the canvas and point the src to the image in the file system it appears perfect. I'm using Chrome, but it appears the same in Firefox. Thanks in advance.
