  • Windsor IHandlerSelector in RIA Services Visual Studio 2010 Beta2

    Hi everybody! I want to implement multi tenancy using Windsor and i don't know how to handle this situation: i succesfully used this technique in plain ASP.NET MVC projects and thought incorporating in a RIA Services project would be similar. So i used IHandlerSelector, registered some components and wrote an ASP.NET MVC view to verify it works in a plain ASP.NET MVC environment. And it did! Next step was to create a DomainService which got an IRepository injected in the constructor. This service is hosted in the ASP.NET MVC application. And it actually ... works:i can get data out of it to a Silverlight application. Sample snippet: public OrganizationDomainService(IRepository<Culture> cultureRepository) { this.cultureRepository = cultureRepository; } Last step is to see if it works multi-tenant-like: it does not! The weird thing is this: using some line of code and writing debug messages in a log file i verified that the correct handler is selected! BUT this handler seems not to be injected in the DomainService. I ALWAYS get the first handler (that's the logic in my SelectHandler) Can anybody verify this behavior? Is injection not working in RIA Services? Or am i missing something basic?? Development environment: Visual Studio 2010 Beta2 Thanks in advance

    Good afternoon, all. I'm not too hopeful for a "yes" here, but if anyone can figure it out, the folks at SO can. I have a Java project that has the following package structure: src |-net | |-binarymuse | |-gwt | |-client | | |-ui | | |-project | | |-Project.java | |-Project.gwt.xml |-overview.html I would like to consolidate the empty subdirectories in the src/ folder so that instead of /src/net/binarymuse/gwt/client/ui/project/ I'd have /src/net.binarymuse.gwt/client.ui.project/. Is this possible? Thanks.

    I have experience in WPF and Windows Forms, however have only used the Windows Forms DataGridView and not the WPF DataGrid (which was only included in .Net 4 or could be added to .Net 3.5 from Codeplex, I understand). I am about to devlop an app using one of these controls heavily for large amounts of data and have read performance is an issue with the WPF DataGrid so I may stick to the Windows Forms DataGridView.. Is this the case? I do not want to use a 3rd party control. Does the Windows Forms DataGridView offer significant performance over the WPF DataGrid for large amounts of data? If I were to use WPF I would prefer to use .Net 3.5S SP1, unless the DataGrid in the .Net 4 is significantly better? Also I want to use ADO with DataTable's which I feel is better suited to Windows Forms..

    Hi I've been working on a project in Netbeans. Now I'd like to submit it and allow the markers to compile it with a script.   • How can I transition from a front-end career to back-end career?

    Hello, In 2004, I received my B.S. in Computer Science using mostly Java for programming. Since then, I have been hired for purely front-end positions in large companies through recruiters, doing primarily HTML/CSS, Javascript/jQuery, and OOP Actionscript 3. While I definitely have respect for the front-end, and have learned much, I feel very unfulfilled and would love to move into back-end for the more complex programming I was doing in school. My target platform of choice is ASP.Net 3.5 (C#). With a resume that has absolutely no .Net or back-end experience, how can I transition into a junior back-end job? I am currently freelancing a .Net e-commerce site, and plan to build a portfolio showcasing some apps (e-commerce mvc, blog, etc), while learning the technology. Is having a Bachelors in CS enough or should I look into getting .Net certified? Is showing course-work still relevant to an employer even though it was from 6 years ago? Thank you

  • MVC View Model Intellesense / Compile error

    I have one Library with my ORM and am working with a MVC Application. I have a problem where the pages won't compile because the Views can't see the Model's properties (which are inherited from lower level base classes). They system throws a compile error saying that 'object' does not contain a definition for 'ID' and no extension method 'ID' accepting a first argument of type 'object' could be found (are you missing a using directive or an assembly reference?) implying that the View is not seeing the model. In the Controller I have full access to the Model and have check the Inherits from portion of the view to validate the correct type is being passed.   • Jetty with a custom JUL logger

    I feel this should be easier, or I am missing something obvious. I am trying to use our custom JUL logging library with Jetty. No matter where I put the JAR file for the custom logger, it is not found. I have tried the usual suspects; /lib/, /lib/ext/, /WEB-INF/lib/ and even manually added it to the classpath. 2011-06-29 15:27:34.518::INFO: Started [email protected]:8080 Can't load log handler "net.aw20.logshot.client.LogShotHandler" java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: net.aw20.logshot.client.LogShotHandler java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: net.aw20.logshot.client.LogShotHandler at java.net.URLClassLoader$1.run(URLClassLoader.java:217) I am starting up Jetty using "-jar start.jar" technique.   • C++/CLI HTTP Proxy problems...

    Hi, I'm trying(very hard) to make a small HTTP Proxy server which I can use to save all communications to a file. Seeing as I dont really have any experience in the area, I used a class from codeproject.com and some associated code to get started (It was made in the old CLI syntax, so I converted it). I couldn't get it working, so I added lots more code to make it work (threads etc), and now it sort of works. Basically, it recieves something from a client (I just configured Mozilla Firefox to route its connections through this proxy) and then routes it to google.com. After it sends Mozilla's data to google, recieves a responce, and sends that to Mozilla. This works fine, but then the proxy fails to recieve any data from Mozilla. It just loops in the Sleep(50) section.   • How to add deploy.jar to classpath?

    I am facing the problem: I need to add ${java.home}/lib/deploy.jar JAR file to classpath in the runtime (dynamically from java). The solution with Thread#setContextClassLoader(ClassLoader) (mentioned here) does not work because of this bug (if somebody can explain what is really a problem – you are welcome). The solution with -Xbootclasspath/a:"%JAVA_HOME%/jre/lib/deploy.jar" does not work well for me, because I want to have "pure executable jar" as a deliverable: no wrapping scripts please (more over %JAVA_HOME% may not be defined in user's environment in Windows for example, plus I need to write a script per platform) The solution with merging deploy.jar file into my deliverable works only if I make a build on Windows platform. Unfortunately, when the deliverable is produced on build server running on Linux, I got Linux-dependant JAR, which does not execute on Windows – it fails with the trace below. I have read How the Java Launcher Finds Classes and Java programming dynamics: Java classes and class loading articles but I've got no extra ideas, how to correctly handle this situation. Any advices or solutions are very welcomed.     We have a CentOS 6.3 iscsi server (16GB RAM) running on Infiniband bus (ipoib).     I am running net share from a ruby script to delete a windows network share. If files on the share are in use, net share will ask the user if they want to go ahead with the deletion, so my script needs to inspect the output from the command, and write out Y if it detects that net share is asking it for input. In order to be able to write out to the process I open it with access flags "r+". When attempting to write to the process with IO#puts, I get an error: Errno::EPIPE: Broken pipe What am I doing wrong here?     I have ListView containig LinkButtons in ItemTemplate. ListView is inside UpdatePanel so it is not doing page refresh. When users click on one the LinkButtons it changes its css property in order to mark the selection: protected void ListView1_ItemCommand1(object sender, ListViewCommandEventArgs e) { ((LinkButton)e.CommandSource).CssClass = "selected"; } That allows multiple selections.
