  • Java2d: JPanel set background color not working

    - by Algorist
I am having the below code. public VizCanvas(){ { this.setBackground(Color.black); this.setSize(400,400); } } It worked fine and displays the panel in black background. But when I implement the paint method, which does nothing, the color changes to default color i.e gray. I tried to set graphics.setColor() but it didn't help. Thank you.

  • Google Base Query Problems

    - by Craig
I am querying Google Base using the .NET library pretty much as described on this page. http://code.google.com/apis/base/docs/2.0/developers_guide_dotnet.html When I run the query a GBaseFeed is returned and it will usually have the TotalRecords property set to something like 35, but in the Entries collection it will often have no items or very few items. Other times the query returns all 35 items as expected in the Entries. Has anyone seen this behaviour or have any idea what could cause it?

  • Django filter vs exclude

    - by Enrico
Is there a difference between filter and exclude in django? If I have self.get_query_set().filter(modelField=x) and I want to add another criteria, is there a meaningful difference between to following two lines of code? self.get_query_set().filter(user__isnull=False, modelField=x) self.get_query_set().filter(modelField=x).exclude(user__isnull=True) is one considered better practice or are they the same in both function and performance?

  • How to refresh linked tables in an Access mdb when ODBC changes

I can create an Access mdb and add a linked table to an Sql Server database via ODBC. If I change the Sql Server that the ODBC is connecting to with the ODBC control panel applet the mdb still connects to the original Sql Server until Access is restarted. Is there a way to relink these linked server tables without restarting Access? EDIT: I would like to do this in code

Hi there, I'm playing with jQModal plugin and trying to display its window right after the page is loaded. I used this code in $(document).ready(function(): $('#letak').jqm({ overlay: 70, autofire: true }); autofire setting should do the trick but unfortunately it doesn't work. Works perfectly fine when I click at trigger link. Example: http://bz.machi.cz/ Am I doing something wrong? Thanks a lot, Jakub

  • openssl api verify the public key matches private key

    - by AC
How do I write an openssl server that on a single port has two different active RSA private keys? The openssl documentation seems to implies there can only be one rsa private key active at time with in a context. So I was thinking I have two active context, but what is the code to handle figuring out which connection matches which context. Or am I going about this the wrong way.

  • System.IO.IOException: file used by another process

    - by Srodriguez
Dear all, I've been working in this small piece of code that seems trivial but still i cannot really see where is the problem. My functions does a pretty simple thing. Opens a file, copy its contents, replace a string inside and copy it back to the original file (a simple search and replace inside a text file then). I didn't really know how to do that as I'm adding lines to the original file, so i just create a copy of the file, (file.temp) copy also a backup (file.temp) then delete the original file(file) and copy the file.temp to file. I get an exception while doing the delete of the file. Here is the sample code: private static bool modifyFile(FileInfo file, string extractedMethod, string modifiedMethod) { Boolean result = false; FileStream fs = new FileStream(file.FullName + ".tmp", FileMode.Create, FileAccess.Write); StreamWriter sw = new StreamWriter(fs); StreamReader streamreader = file.OpenText(); String originalPath = file.FullName; string input = streamreader.ReadToEnd(); Console.WriteLine("input : {0}", input); String tempString = input.Replace(extractedMethod, modifiedMethod); Console.WriteLine("replaced String {0}", tempString); try { sw.Write(tempString); sw.Flush(); sw.Close(); sw.Dispose(); fs.Close(); fs.Dispose(); streamreader.Close(); streamreader.Dispose(); File.Copy(originalPath, originalPath + ".old", true); FileInfo newFile = new FileInfo(originalPath + ".tmp"); File.Delete(originalPath); File.Copy(fs., originalPath, true); result = true; } catch (Exception ex) { Console.WriteLine(ex); } return result; }` And the related exception System.IO.IOException: The process cannot access the file 'E:\mypath\myFile.cs' because it is being used by another process. at System.IO.__Error.WinIOError(Int32 errorCode, String maybeFullPath) at System.IO.File.Delete(String path) at callingMethod.modifyFile(FileInfo file, String extractedMethod, String modifiedMethod) Normally these errors come from unclosed file streams, but I've taken care of that. I guess I've forgotten an important step but cannot figure out where. Thank you very much for your help,

Later in the code: try: queryUtility(foo) except NameError: # do some fallback actions <-- this one is easy with mocking # zope.component.queryUtility to raise a NameError Any ideas?

  • NetBeans not liking libraries in lib-src

    - by DJTripleThreat
I'm working on a project with a group that is using Eclipse, but I'm using Netbeans. Up until today this wasn't an issue. When updating from the repo they have added some source code as a library under a directory called /lib-src. When I try to compile the code I get an error that it can't find certain packages... these are the packages under /lib-src. Using NetBeans I can add the library as a folder so now the references to those packages are happy. However, I'm getting this new error when compiling: UNEXPECTED TOP-LEVEL ERROR: java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: Java heap space at java.util.HashMap.addEntry(HashMap.java:753) at java.util.HashMap.put(HashMap.java:385) at com.android.dx.dex.file.ClassDataItem.addStaticField(ClassDataItem.java:134) at com.android.dx.dex.file.ClassDefItem.addStaticField(ClassDefItem.java:280) at com.android.dx.dex.cf.CfTranslator.processFields(CfTranslator.java:159) at com.android.dx.dex.cf.CfTranslator.translate0(CfTranslator.java:130) at com.android.dx.dex.cf.CfTranslator.translate(CfTranslator.java:85) at com.android.dx.command.dexer.Main.processClass(Main.java:297) at com.android.dx.command.dexer.Main.processFileBytes(Main.java:276) at com.android.dx.command.dexer.Main.access$100(Main.java:56) at com.android.dx.command.dexer.Main$1.processFileBytes(Main.java:228) at com.android.dx.cf.direct.ClassPathOpener.processOne(ClassPathOpener.java:134) at com.android.dx.cf.direct.ClassPathOpener.processDirectory(ClassPathOpener.java:190) at com.android.dx.cf.direct.ClassPathOpener.processOne(ClassPathOpener.java:122) at com.android.dx.cf.direct.ClassPathOpener.processDirectory(ClassPathOpener.java:190) at com.android.dx.cf.direct.ClassPathOpener.processOne(ClassPathOpener.java:122) at com.android.dx.cf.direct.ClassPathOpener.processDirectory(ClassPathOpener.java:190) at com.android.dx.cf.direct.ClassPathOpener.processOne(ClassPathOpener.java:122) at com.android.dx.cf.direct.ClassPathOpener.processDirectory(ClassPathOpener.java:190) at com.android.dx.cf.direct.ClassPathOpener.processOne(ClassPathOpener.java:122) at com.android.dx.cf.direct.ClassPathOpener.processDirectory(ClassPathOpener.java:190) at com.android.dx.cf.direct.ClassPathOpener.processOne(ClassPathOpener.java:122) at com.android.dx.cf.direct.ClassPathOpener.processDirectory(ClassPathOpener.java:190) at com.android.dx.cf.direct.ClassPathOpener.processOne(ClassPathOpener.java:122) at com.android.dx.cf.direct.ClassPathOpener.processDirectory(ClassPathOpener.java:190) at com.android.dx.cf.direct.ClassPathOpener.processOne(ClassPathOpener.java:122) at com.android.dx.cf.direct.ClassPathOpener.process(ClassPathOpener.java:108) at com.android.dx.command.dexer.Main.processOne(Main.java:245) at com.android.dx.command.dexer.Main.processAllFiles(Main.java:183) at com.android.dx.command.dexer.Main.run(Main.java:139) at com.android.dx.command.dexer.Main.main(Main.java:120) at com.android.dx.command.Main.main(Main.java:87) /home/aaron/NetBeansProjects/xbmc-remote/nbproject/build-impl.xml:411: exec returned: 3 BUILD FAILED (total time: 1 minute 25 seconds) I can include the build-impl.xml file if you need it, but I don't think that is main issue. It seems to me that some system DLL creates ETW threads or something. Does anyone know what these threads for and how to manage them?

  • Clojure Protocols vs Scala Structural Types

    - by Vasil Remeniuk
After watching the interview with Rich Hickey on Protocols in Clojure 1.2, and knowing very little about Clojure, I have some questions on Clojure Protocols: Are they intended to do the same thing as Structural Types in Scala? What benefits do Protocols have over Structural Types (performance, flexibility, code clarity, etc.)? Are they implemented through reflections? Questions on interoperability with Scala: Can Protocols be used instead of Structural Types in Scala? Can they be extended (if 'extension' term can be applied to Protocols) in Scala?

  • What are the disadvantages to declaring Scala case classes?

    - by Graham Lea
If you're writing code that's using lots of beautiful, immutable data structures, case classes appear to be a godsend, giving you all of the following for free with just one keyword: Everything immutable by default Getters automatically defined Decent toString() implementation Compliant equals() and hashCode() Companion object with unapply() method for matching But what are the disadvantages of defining an immutable data structure as a case class? What restrictions does it place on the class or its clients? Are there situations where you should prefer a non-case class?
