  • Specialization of template after instantiation?

    - by Onur Cobanoglu
    Hi, My full code is too long, but here is a snippet that will reflect the essence of my problem: class BPCFGParser { public: ... ... class Edge { ... ... }; class ActiveEquivClass { ... ... }; class PassiveEquivClass { ... ... }; struct EqActiveEquivClass { ... ... }; struct EqPassiveEquivClass { ... ... }; unordered_map<ActiveEquivClass, Edge *, hash<ActiveEquivClass>, EqActiveEquivClass> discovered_active_edges; unordered_map<PassiveEquivClass, Edge *, hash<PassiveEquivClass>, EqPassiveEquivClass> discovered_passive_edges; }; namespace std { template <> class hash<BPCFGParser::ActiveEquivClass> { public: size_t operator()(const BPCFGParser::ActiveEquivClass & aec) const { } }; template <> class hash<BPCFGParser::PassiveEquivClass> { public: size_t operator()(const BPCFGParser::PassiveEquivClass & pec) const { } }; } When I compile this code, I get the following errors: In file included from BPCFGParser.cpp:3, from experiments.cpp:2: BPCFGParser.h:408: error: specialization of ‘std::hash<BPCFGParser::ActiveEquivClass>’ after instantiation BPCFGParser.h:408: error: redefinition of ‘class std::hash<BPCFGParser::ActiveEquivClass>’ /usr/include/c++/4.3/tr1_impl/functional_hash.h:44: error: previous definition of ‘class std::hash<BPCFGParser::ActiveEquivClass>’ BPCFGParser.h:445: error: specialization of ‘std::hash<BPCFGParser::PassiveEquivClass>’ after instantiation BPCFGParser.h:445: error: redefinition of ‘class std::hash<BPCFGParser::PassiveEquivClass>’ /usr/include/c++/4.3/tr1_impl/functional_hash.h:44: error: previous definition of ‘class std::hash<BPCFGParser::PassiveEquivClass>’ Now I have to specialize std::hash for these classes (because standard std::hash definition does not include user defined types). When I move these template specializations before the definition of class BPCFGParser, I get a variety of errors for a variety of different things tried, and somewhere (http://www.parashift.com/c++-faq-lite/misc-technical-issues.html) I read that: Whenever you use a class as a template parameter, the declaration of that class must be complete and not simply forward declared. So I'm stuck. I cannot specialize the templates after BPCFGParser definition, I cannot specialize them before BPCFGParser definition, how may I get this working? Thanks in advance, Onur

  • doctrine regenerating models from yml only the base models?

    - by TaMeR
    I am wondering if there is a way to handle this more elegantly. After generating the "main" models and base models from yml files the first time I have to add at the very leased an include for the base model to the "main" model like so: include_once 'generated/BaseBlog.php'; At the moment before I regenerate the models I move my changed main models, which is mostly way more then just the include path, in to a tmp folder then I delete all the models. And after regenerating I move my modified models back overwriting the generated main models. isn't there a way to just create the base models and not touch the main models? Or how do you guys handle this?

  • interesting network or git problem

    - by bogumbiker
    I have a setup my own git repository with gitosis on dedicated debian server. The server is visible via port 22 from outside (the port 22 is forwarded from my router to my git server). On the local network the git repository works perfectly. The problem happens once I try to do "git clone.." from remote server. So once I do "git clone.." from remote I am getting git clone hung after cloning around 20-30% of the repository (small around 2MB) and I think this is the random percentage. I can do scp to and from the git server without any problems. Also as I mentioned the git clone, push, etc works perfectly within my internal network. Any idea how to debug this problem? thanks

  • How to merge two different Makefiles?

    - by martijnn2008
    I have did some reading on "Merging Makefiles", one suggest I should leave the two Makefiles separate in different folders [1]. For me this look counter intuitive, because I have the following situation: I have 3 source files (main.cpp flexibility.cpp constraints.cpp) one of them (flexibility.cpp) is making use of the COIN-OR Linear Programming library (Clp) When installing this library on my computer it makes sample Makefiles, which I have adjust the Makefile and it currently makes a good working binary. # Copyright (C) 2006 International Business Machines and others. # All Rights Reserved. # This file is distributed under the Eclipse Public License. # $Id: Makefile.in 726 2006-04-17 04:16:00Z andreasw $ ########################################################################## # You can modify this example makefile to fit for your own program. # # Usually, you only need to change the five CHANGEME entries below. # ########################################################################## # To compile other examples, either changed the following line, or # add the argument DRIVER=problem_name to make DRIVER = main # CHANGEME: This should be the name of your executable EXE = clp # CHANGEME: Here is the name of all object files corresponding to the source # code that you wrote in order to define the problem statement OBJS = $(DRIVER).o constraints.o flexibility.o # CHANGEME: Additional libraries ADDLIBS = # CHANGEME: Additional flags for compilation (e.g., include flags) ADDINCFLAGS = # CHANGEME: Directory to the sources for the (example) problem definition # files SRCDIR = . ########################################################################## # Usually, you don't have to change anything below. I don't know what they exactly do. What I want is to merge the two of them so I get only one binary. The code compiled in the second Makefile should be the result. I want to add flexibility.cpp and constraints.cpp to the second Makefile, but when I do. I get the problem following problem: flexibility.h:4:26: fatal error: ClpSimplex.hpp: No such file or directory #include "ClpSimplex.hpp" So the compiler can't find the Clp library. I also tried to copy-paste more code from the first Makefile into the second, but it still gives me that same error. Q: Can you please help me with merging the two makefiles or pointing out a more elegant way? Q: In this case is it indeed better to merge the two Makefiles? I also tried to use cmake, but I gave upon that one quickly, because I don't know much about flex and bison.

  • How to not increment the build.number in Ant?

    - by dacracot
    I have many targets in my build.xml for Ant. Generally I am running two via a shell script, one to construct the application and one for cleaning up. The shell script checks the exit status of the construction to see if it should clean up or leave the clutter behind so I can determine what went wrong and fix it. So went all is going well, the majority of the time, Ant is executed once for construction and once for clean up. This results in my build.number being incremented for each execution. So in steady state, my build.number increments by 2. How can a tell Ant to not increment the build.number? I would do this for clean up as I haven't built anything. I know the obvious answer of creating a separate script for clean up only, but I'd rather keep the entire build.xml in one file.

  • OpenCV - DLL missing, but it's not?

    - by charles-22
    I am trying just a basic program with OpenCV with the following code: #include "cv.h" #include "highgui.h" int main() { IplImage* newImg; newImg = cvLoadImage("~/apple.bmp", 1); cvNamedWindow("Window", 1); cvShowImage("Window", newImg); cvWaitKey(0); cvDestroyWindow("Window"); cvReleaseImage(&newImg); return 0; } When I run this, I get The program can't start because libcxcore200.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem. However, I can see this DLL. It exists. I have added the following to the input dependencies for my linker C:\OpenCV2.0\lib\libcv200.dll.a C:\OpenCV2.0\lib\libcvaux200.dll.a C:\OpenCV2.0\lib\libcxcore200.dll.a C:\OpenCV2.0\lib\libhighgui200.dll.a What gives? I'm using visual studio 2008.

  • Get Specific part of a String in Javascript

    - by streetparade
    I have a string containing something like this "Hello bla bla bla bla ok, once more bla können. // this is static: it doesn't change This is a text, this also a text. // this is dynamically added text it can change each time My name mysurename // this is also static text www.blabla.com " Now I have content and I have to get the first part of the string and the third part, I want to be able to have 3 parts, I think I have to split it using something like split(); string1 = "Hello bla bla bla bla ok, once more bla können.; string2 = ""; // i have this part string3 ="My name mysurename"; If it helps the first part ends with "können. " and the third part ends with the url above // its a fictional URL

  • C++ classes & linked list: adding & counting items

    - by user342289
    I need to make a linked list with classes. Each list will store two values: a URI and IP. After doing all the adding, I need to be able count the total number of items in the linked list. I have tried the following code but it doesn't compile. Any suggestions please? #include <iostream> #include <cstdlib> #include <string> using namespace std; class ip_uri_store { protected: string ip; string uri; ip_uri_store *next; public: ip_uri_store(string huri, string hip); void additem(string auri, string aip); void deleteitem(string duri); void findbyuri(string furi); void findbyip(string fip); int totalitems(); }; ip_uri_store *head = NULL; ip_uri_store *curr = NULL; void ip_uri_store::additem(string auri, string aip) { curr = head; while (curr->next != NULL) { curr = curr->next; } curr->uri = auri; curr->next = new ip_uri_store; curr->ip = aip; curr->next = new ip_uri_store; curr = curr->next; curr = head; } int ip_uri_store::totalitems() { int i = 0; curr = head; while (curr->next != NULL) { i += 1; curr = curr->next; } return i; } int main(int argc, char *argv[]) { if (argc == 1) { cout << "123456, [email protected], Gordon Brown" << endl; return (0); } head = new ip_uri_store; curr = head; int i; for (i = 1; i < argc; i++) { if (argv[i][0] == 'A') //add item { ip_uri_store.additem(argv[i + 1], argv[i + 2]); i += 2; } else if (argv[i][0] == 'N') //print total tiems { cout << ip_uri_store.totalitems() << endl; } else { cout << "command error\n"; return 0; } } return (0); }

    Python rather stupidly has a pragma directive in its include files that forces a link against python26_d.lib when the DEBUG preprocessor variable is defined. This is a problem because the python installer doesn't come with python26_d.lib! So I can't build applications in msvc in debug mode. If i temporarily #undef DEBUG for just one file I get many complaints about inconsistent DLL linkage. If I change the pragma in pythons include file I get undefined references to various debug functions. I have tried compiling my own version of python but its somehow different enough from the python that gets distributed that I can't use my modules with apps built with the vanilla version of python Can anyone give me any advice on how to get round this? Thanks

  • iPhone modalView unwanted offset

    - by Chonch
    Hey, I have a UITabBarController with three view controllers (from three different types). On one of the view controllers, I want to display a modalViewController. Once a UIButton on the screen is pressed, I perform this action: AboutViewController *modalViewController = [[AboutViewController alloc] initWithNibName:@"AboutScreen" bundle:nil]; [self presentModalViewController:modalViewController animated:YES]; like I always do in order to display a modal view... The problem is, that while the modal view is being displayed (while it is moving from the bottom of the screen), a 20 pixels grey strip is showing on the bottom of the screen (the same size as the status bar on the top). Once the modal view reaches its final location, the strip disappears. Needless to say this doesn't look good (to say the least). Does anybody know why this may happen? Thanks,

  • Programs won't write to a file, and I do not know if it is reading it

    - by user320950
    This program is supposed to read files and write them. I took the file open checks out because they kept causing errors. The problem is that the files open like they are supposed to and the names are correct but nothing is on any of the text screens. Do you know what is wrong? #include<iostream> #include<fstream> #include<cstdlib> #include<iomanip> using namespace std; int main() { ifstream in_stream; // reads itemlist.txt ofstream out_stream1; // writes in items.txt ifstream in_stream2; // reads pricelist.txt ofstream out_stream3;// writes in plist.txt ifstream in_stream4;// read recipt.txt ofstream out_stream5;// write display.txt float price=' ',curr_total=0.0; int itemnum=' ', wrong=0; char next; in_stream.open("ITEMLIST.txt", ios::in); // list of avaliable items out_stream1.open("listWititems.txt", ios::out); // list of avaliable items in_stream2.open("PRICELIST.txt", ios::in); out_stream3.open("listWitdollars.txt", ios::out); in_stream4.open("display.txt", ios::in); out_stream5.open("showitems.txt", ios::out); in_stream.close(); // closing files. out_stream1.close(); in_stream2.close(); out_stream3.close(); in_stream4.close(); out_stream5.close(); system("pause"); in_stream.setf(ios::fixed); while(in_stream.eof()) { in_stream >> itemnum; cin.clear(); cin >> next; } out_stream1.setf(ios::fixed); while (out_stream1.eof()) { out_stream1 << itemnum; cin.clear(); cin >> next; } in_stream2.setf(ios::fixed); in_stream2.setf(ios::showpoint); in_stream2.precision(2); while((price== (price*1.00)) && (itemnum == (itemnum*1))) { while (in_stream2 >> itemnum >> price) // gets itemnum and price { while (in_stream2.eof()) // reads file to end of file { in_stream2 >> itemnum; in_stream2 >> price; price++; curr_total= price++; in_stream2 >> curr_total; cin.clear(); // allows more reading cin >> next; } } } out_stream3.setf(ios::fixed); out_stream3.setf(ios::showpoint); out_stream3.precision(2); while((price== (price*1.00)) && (itemnum == (itemnum*1))) { while (out_stream3 << itemnum << price) { while (out_stream3.eof()) // reads file to end of file { out_stream3 << itemnum; out_stream3 << price; price++; curr_total= price++; out_stream3 << curr_total; cin.clear(); // allows more reading cin >> next; } return itemnum, price; } } in_stream4.setf(ios::fixed); in_stream4.setf(ios::showpoint); in_stream4.precision(2); while ( in_stream4.eof()) { in_stream4 >> itemnum >> price >> curr_total; cin.clear(); cin >> next; } out_stream5.setf(ios::fixed); out_stream5.setf(ios::showpoint); out_stream5.precision(2); out_stream5 <<setw(5)<< " itemnum " <<setw(5)<<" price "<<setw(5)<<" curr_total " <<endl; // sends items and prices to receipt.txt out_stream5 << setw(5) << itemnum << setw(5) <<price << setw(5)<< curr_total; // sends items and prices to receipt.txt out_stream5 << " You have a total of " << wrong++ << " errors " << endl; }

  • reading a string with spaces with sscanf

    - by SDLFunTimes
    For a project I'm trying to read an int and a string from a string. The only problem is sscanf appears to break reading an %s when it sees a space. Is there anyway to get around this limitation? Here's an example of what I'm trying to do: #include<stdio.h> #include<stdlib.h> int main(int argc, char** argv) { int age; char* buffer; buffer = malloc(200 * sizeof(char)); sscanf("19 cool kid", "%d %s", &age, buffer); printf("%s is %d years old\n", buffer, age); return 0; } What it prints is: "cool is 19 years old" where I need "cool kid is 19 years old". Does anyone know how to fix this?

  • Multiple constructors in C

    - by meepz
    Hello, I am making a string class in C as a homework and I was wondering how I can make multiple constructors with the same name given the parameter. The commented out area is what I tried to do with results from a few searches but that gives me errors. Pretty much I have some cases where I want to create my new string without any parameter then in other cases create a string with a pointer to character. Here is mystring.h #include <stdio.h> #include <stdlib.h> typedef struct mystring { char * c; int length; int (*sLength)(void * s); char (*charAt)(void * s, int i); int (*compareTo)(void * s1, void * s2); struct mystring * (*concat)(void * s1, void * s2); struct mystring * (*subString)(void * s, int begin, int end); void (*printS)(void * s); } string_t; typedef string_t * String; String newString(char * c); String newString2(); int slength(void * s); char charat(void * S, int i); int compareto(void * s1, void * s2); String concat(void * s1, void * s2); String substring(void * S, int begin, int end); void printstring(void * s); And here is mystring.c #include "mystring.h" String newString(){ } String newString(char * input){ //String newString::newString(char * input) { String s; s = (string_t *) malloc(sizeof(string_t)); s->c = (char *) malloc(sizeof(char) * 20); int i = 0; if (input == NULL){ s->c[0] = '\0'; return s; } while (input[i] != '\0') { s->c[i] = input[i]; i++; } //functions s->sLength = slength; s->charAt = charat; s->compareTo = compareto; s->concat = concat; s->subString = substring; s->printS = printstring; return s; }

  • Where should I put my breakpoint to check XML Response string from a web service?

    - by burak ozdogan
    Hi, You know, once you add a web reference to a webservice a wrapper code is generated by Visuel Studio. I was wondering if there is a method (or property) which is generated by Visual Studio whatever web service you add to your project so that I can put a breakpoint there and once the debugger stops there, I can simply read the response from web-service in an xml format (or should I say, soap). I don't want to use fiddler or a tool like that. Is it possible? Does such a place exist in the webservice wrapper code for all the added webservice Thank you, burak ozdogan

  • Idiomatic ruby for temporary variables within a method

    - by Andrew Grimm
    Within a method, I am using i and j as temporary variables while calculating other variables. What is an idiomatic way of getting rid of i and j once they are no longer needed? Should I use blocks for this purpose? i = positions.first while nucleotide_at_position(i-1) == nucleotide_at_position(i) raise "Assumption violated" if i == 1 i -= 1 end first_nucleotide_position = i j = positions.last while nucleotide_at_position(j+1) == nucleotide_at_position(j) raise "Assumption violated" if j == sequence.length j += 1 end last_nucleotide_position = j Background: I'd like to get rid of i and j once they are no longer needed so that they aren't used by any other code in the method. Gives my code less opportunity to be wrong. I don't know the name of the concept - is it "encapsulation"? The closest concepts I can think of are (warning: links to TV Tropes - do not visit while working) Chekhov'sGun or YouHaveOutlivedYourUsefulness. Another alternative would be to put the code into their own methods, but that may detract from readability.

I have never received this error message before. Does anyone have a clue? Thanks guys!

  • How "duplicated" Java code is optimized by the JVM JIT compiler?

    - by Renan Vinícius Mozone
    I'm in charge of maintaining a JSP based application, running on IBM WebSphere 6.1 (IBM J9 JVM). All JSP pages have a static include reference and in this include file there is some static Java methods declared. They are included in all JSP pages to offer an "easy access" to those utility static methods. I know that this is a very bad way to work, and I'm working to change this. But, just for curiosity, and to support my effort in changing this, I'm wondering how these "duplicated" static methods are optimized by the JVM JIT compiler. They are optimized separately even having the exact same signature? Does the JVM JIT compiler "sees" that these methods are all identical an provides an "unified" JIT'ed code?
