  • How to set credential persistence permanent on Android

    - by doreamon
My app has save login credential feature, so I store cookies for the next use after succeeding to sign in. However, after a time period, the session will be time out and cannot log in with the cookies any more. On iOS, after setting credential persistence to permanent, the app works nicely even after restarting the phone: [[challenge sender] useCredential:[NSURLCredential credentialWithUser:username password:password persistence:NSURLCredentialPersistencePermanent] forAuthenticationChallenge:challenge]; On Android, I cannot find out such kind of this option. Here is from my HttpHelper class: ((AbstractHttpClient) HttpHelper.client).getAuthSchemes().register("ntlm",new NTLMSchemeFactory()); NTCredentials creds = new NTCredentials(user, pass, "", domain); ((AbstractHttpClient) HttpHelper.client).getCredentialsProvider().setCredentials(AuthScope.ANY, creds); The server is SharePoint so I have to deal with ntlm authentication by following this instruction If you have idea, please let me know. Thank you.

  • NHibernate and MySql is inserting and Selecting, not updating

    - by Chris Brandsma
    Something strange is going on with NHibernate for me. I can select, and I can insert. But I can't do and update against MySql. Here is my domain class public class UserAccount { public virtual int Id { get; set; } public virtual string UserName { get; set; } public virtual string Password { get; set; } public virtual bool Enabled { get; set; } public virtual string FirstName { get; set; } public virtual string LastName { get; set; } public virtual string Phone { get; set; } public virtual DateTime? DeletedDate { get; set; } public virtual UserAccount DeletedBy { get; set; } } Fluent Mapping public class UserAccountMap : ClassMap<UserAccount> { public UserAccountMap() { Table("UserAccount"); Id(x => x.Id); Map(x => x.UserName); Map(x => x.Password); Map(x => x.FirstName); Map(x => x.LastName); Map(x => x.Phone); Map(x => x.DeletedDate); Map(x => x.Enabled); } } Here is how I'm creating my Session Factory var dbconfig = MySQLConfiguration .Standard .ShowSql() .ConnectionString(a => a.FromAppSetting("MySqlConnStr")); FluentConfiguration config = Fluently.Configure() .Database(dbconfig) .Mappings(m => { var mapping = m.FluentMappings.AddFromAssemblyOf<TransactionDetail>(); mapping.ExportTo(mappingdir); }); and this is my NHibernate code: using (var trans = Session.BeginTransaction()) { var user = GetById(userId); user.Enabled = false; user.DeletedDate = DateTime.Now; user.UserName = "deleted_" + user.UserName; user.Password = "--removed--"; Session.Update(user); trans.Commit(); } No exceptions are being thrown. No queries are being logged. Nothing.

  • Checking if the email had been already taken in the following if statement (Rails)?

    - by alexchenco
I have the following action: users.rb: def omniauth_create auth = request.env["omniauth.auth"] user = User.from_omniauth(env["omniauth.auth"]) unless user.email.blank? if user.id.nil? # Save the user since he hasn't been created yet user.save! end sign_in user redirect_back_or user else # Send user to a form to fill his email #session[:omniauth] = request.env['omniauth.auth'].except('extra') redirect_to(enter_email_path(oprovider: user.provider, ouid: user.uid, oname: user.name, opassword: user.password, opassword_confirmation: user.password)) end end It does the following: If the user's email is not blank, sign him in, and redirect him to his profile (and save him if his id is nil. In other words, if he hasn't been created yet). If the user's email is blank, send him to enter_email_path (where the user can enter his email). Now I want to add another if statement that flashes an error if the email had been already taken, and redirects the user to the root_path I'm not very sure how to do this, Any suggestions? (and where to put that if statement?)

  • two scp and ssh processes with single authentication

    - by Tomek Wyderka
I need to scp and then ssh to the same host. Is it possible to authenticate just one time? Is it possible to input password once, then scp file, then ssh on that host and work interactively? Update I get HOSTNAME and SSH_PASSWORD. I never log in on that machine before. I need to send some files (probably using scp) and then log in using ssh and work on that HOST interactively. I want to save time and input password just once. I have lots of such hosts...

    - by Lance
    I'm doing $info = file_get_contents('http://USERNAME:[email protected]/v2/sales?client_key=CLIENT_KEY'); $info returns nothing. However, when I put the URL into my browser, JSON appears. I tried using cURL without any luck. $data = array('client_key' => 'CLIENT_KEY'); $link = "http://api.appfigures.com/v2/sales"; $ch = curl_init(); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_URL, $link); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_RETURNTRANSFER, true); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_POST, count($data)); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_POSTFIELDS, http_build_query($data)); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_USERPWD, "username:password"); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_HTTPAUTH, CURLAUTH_BASIC); $jsonData = curl_exec($ch); curl_close($ch); print_r($jsonData); Thanks

  • Keystore and Aliases - is there a use to multiple aliases?

    - by Steve H
When exporting a signed Android application using Eclipse, is there a purpose to using multiple aliases? According to the official guide about signing, it's recommended that you sign all applications with the same certificate to allow your applications to share data, code and be updated in modular fashion. Assuming that "alias", "key" and "certificate" are essentially interchangeable in this context, is there a reason why someone would want to use different aliases for all their applications? The only reason I can think of is that it adds more security to your applications, in the sense that a compromised key/password doesn't compromise everything. Are there other reasons? Also, is the generated key dependent on the name of the alias? In other words, if you change the name of the alias but not the password, would the generated certificate be different? Thanks.

  • Android - Access to online Database SQlite

    - by Oneiros
I need to open, read and insert items into an online SQLite database from an Android app. I know url, username and password. In JavaSE i would do the following: Class.forName("com.mysql.jdbc.Driver"); Connection dbConnection = DriverManager.getConnection(URL, USER, PASSWORD); I read that I can't do this in Android because there is not a JDBC Driver (there is a "SQLite.JDBCDriver" but it is not documented and not recommended). So which is the easiest way? I asked to Google but it looks like he either doesn't know.

  • Zend_Auth_Adapter_DbTable identity not unique

    - by volf
For authentication on a website i use Zend_Auth_Adapter_DbTable. Everything work's fine, but Zend Framework only allow unique Identitys in the table. As an identity i use the mail-address from my users. The problem is, that there are more items in the table with this mail-adress. User can delete there account and so i don't delete the whole row, i only change the status to -2 or something else. active user has the status 1. i try to use it like so: $authAdapter = new Zend_Auth_Adapter_DbTable($db, 'user', 'email', 'password', "? AND `status`='1'"); $authAdapter->setIdentity($email); $authAdapter->setCredential($password); But it doesn't work. If i delete the inactive user with the same mail-address, everything work's. Why is that?

  • PHP MySQL Insert Data

    - by happyCoding25
Hello, Im trying to insert data into a table in MySQL. I found/modified some code from w3Schools and still couldn't get it working. Heres what I have so far: <?php $rusername=$_POST['username']; $rname=$_POST['name']; $remail=$_POST['emailadr']; $rpassword=$_POST['pass']; $rconfirmpassword=$_POST['cpass']; if ($rpassword==$rconfirmpassword) { $con = mysql_connect("host","user","password"); if (!$con) { die('Could not connect: ' . mysql_error()); } mysql_select_db("mydbname ", $con); } mysql_query("INSERT INTO members (id, username, password) VALUES ('4', $rusername, $rpassword)"); ?> Did I mistype something? To my understanding "members" is the name of the table. If anyone knows whats wrong I appreciate the help. Thanks

  • Taking over someone else's code

    - by tom d
I am taking over someone elses code. What are some good ways to learn what that programmer did as quickly as possible? I have been running it, stepping through it and looking at the callstack. What else can I do? Sorry I forgot to mention, but there is little documentation and I have been trying to fix simple problems. Thanks!

  • Unable to make WMI connection from XP Pro machine to another (not in domain, same workgroup) in C#

    - by JCCyC
I have two XP Pro SP3 machines. I disabled the firewall in both. The workgroup name is WORKGROUP. I have an administrator account with identical username/password in both. My code to connect is the following: ConnectionOptions options = new ConnectionOptions(); options.Username = myUsername; options.Password = myPassword; options.Authority = "ntdlmdomain:WORKGROUP"; // Commenting this or not makes no difference ManagementScope scope = new ManagementScope(String.Format("\\\\{0}\\{1}", hostname, Namespace), options); scope.Connect(); I always get a System.UnauthorizedAccessException with the text: "Access is denied. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80070005 (E_ACCESSDENIED))" The above code works between two machines that are part of the same AD domain. What am I doing wrong?

  • How to authenticate a user using SQL

    - by Tom
I have an DLL which is constantly connected to a SQL Server instance. The server itself is connected with "admin" permissions, but "normal" users should be able to access the server with their own username and password. The server would still be connected a "admin". I just want to check if the user can access the database. Is there a way to authenticate the user using a SQL query? It would of course be possible to add a encrypted "password" column to a database table for users, but I would prefer not having to do that.

  • Secure Webservice?

    - by cam
I'm trying to create a secure webservice (that provides simple database data) with PHP that can be connected to through my Silverlight application. I don't know enough about PHP to be able to see another way to do this. The webservice should only be accessible through the client, and only with the proper username/password. The only two ways I can imagine to do this would be by passing the username/password hash via URL, or use a "hidden form" and do it via POST_. I'm just trying to get past this point, I'm the sole developer on this project and I'm just trying to get past this PHP webservice part so I can get back to being an application programmer :) Normally, I would learn PHP, but I'm on the clock, so I'm just looking for a point in the right direction on how to achieve this!

  • Best way of obfuscating / encrypting form data on the iPhone

    - by cannyboy
I want to create an app which holds sensitive information (imagine it's bank account details, thought it's not). The user enters this information on a form the first time the app starts up. I want this info to be saved, and available, any time the user uses the app (without having to enter a password). However, if the iPhone has a password lock on it, and is stolen, I don't want the data to be easily accessible from the file system. What is the best way of encrypting or obfuscating the data? There is not a lot of data, just a dozen NSStrings from the UITextFields on the form. I'm aware there are encryption export restrictions on the iPhone for non-US developers (I am in UK), so I would prefer to avoid going jumping through any of Apple's app submission hoops to get it on the store.

  • Is this a secure way to structure a mysql_query in PHP

    - by Supernovah
I have tried and tried to achieve an SQL injection by making custom queries to the server outside of firefox. Inside the php, all variables are passed into the query in a string like this. Note, by this stage, $_POST has not been touched. mysql_query('INSERT INTO users (password, username) VALUES(' . sha1($_POST['password']) . ',' . $_POST['username'] . ')); Is that a secure way to make a change?
