  • Textmate Ruby on Rails Highlighting

    Hi, I have textmate 1.5.7 running on my leopard machine. When programming in rails, for some reason some key words do not get highlighted. For example: validates_presence_of, has_many, remote_form_for (form_for gets highlighted) etc... I tried switching themes and it did not help. I also tried upgrading to the most recent rails bundle from http://railsbundle.com/ but no cigar. Could someone please help? Thank you very much, Yuval

  • Subversion with MacVim configured as the editor

    I'm using Subversion to checkin a file on OSX. I have my EDITOR variable configured to MacVim My .profile includes: export EDITOR=/Applications/MacVim/mvim When I checkin with the -m option (svn ci somefile), MacVim gets launched but then Subversion immediately displays: Log message unchanged or not specified (a)bort, (c)ontinue, (e)dit: It displays this before I get a chance to save my log message in MacVim. Is there a way to get SVN to use MacVim as the log message editor?

  • Cabal and zlib on OS X

    When I run "cabal update" on my Mac (Snow Leopard, Intel), I get: % cabal update Downloading the latest package list from hackage.haskell.org cabal: Codec.Compression.Zlib: incompatible zlib version Anyone else seeing this? Reinstalling the Haskell Platform hasn't helped. I'm unable to install or update Cabal packages at the moment, so I'd appreciate any help. Thanks!

  • XCode Build and Run

    I recently reinstalled OSX, and am having a slight annoyance with XCode. Before I reinstalled, I could just hit CMD + Enter, and it would build, then flip the main editor screen to the debugger, where it would show NSLogs, crashes, etc. Now, when I hit CMD + Enter, it just runs the app and stays in the code editor screen. Is there an option I'm missing? I've scoured the preferences, and can't seem to find anything.

  • Why does filter: blur(0) still cause text to blur under Webkit?

    I've come across a bug today that's taken far longer than I would like to admit to identify. Essentially: setting a filter: blur(0) (or the vendor-specific -webkit-filter) on an element should - I believe - mean that no form of blur is applied. However, having tested this today, it would appear that Webkit based browsers still blur the text within any element with either blur(0) or blur(0px) assigned to it. I've knocked together a quick Fiddle here: http://jsfiddle.net/f9rBE/ These are three identical dixs containing text (no custom fonts): This has absolutely nothing assigned Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. Of course, this isn't supported at all in Firefox just yet so it's hard to tell whether the behaviour I'm seeing is intentional/expected behaviour, or whether this is a bug in Webkit? Is it possible that this is only prevalent in higher-density resolution devices (ie: retina MacBook/iPhone/iPad)? With this in mind, how do you actually overwrite an item that has blur applied to it to set it back to non-blurred?

    Hi , i create a provision and developer identity.certificate with apple provision assistant and i have huge problem , everything done , but when i add my certificate into KeyChain , the certificate add , but doesn't show on the Keys and my Certificate :( and xcode Organizer says a valid signing identity matching this profile could not be found in your keychain and compiler : Code Sign error: The identity 'iPhone Developer' doesn't match any valid certificate/private key pair in the default keychain i didn't have this problem on the leopard with sdk 3.1 my current os is 10.6.2 SDK 3.1.3 what's the problem ?

When choosing "iPhone" from the emulator menu, it changes its look but next time it is opened as iPad again. How to cause the emulator to run in iPhone mode ?

I do most of my development on a Mac (Snow Leopard) and unfortunately Vertica has not released ODBC drivers for Mac. They do have JDBC drivers though. I don't think developing in Jython is a good compromise. Is there any way to use JDBC drivers with an ODBC application? Some kind of ODBC connector?

    Hi, I've been browsing documentation, but haven't been able to find a straightforward tutorial, so I apologize if this is a really simple question. Anyway, I have eclipse with pydev installed on MAC OSX, and I want configure wxPython to work with eclipse, how do I do this? Once I've downloaded wxpython, what steps do I take to allow wxPython development from eclipse? Thanks!

  • How to start / stop internet sharing using apple script

    i dont have a wifi router, so when at home i need to turn my laptop into a wifi source so that both myself and my partner can access the internet. however during the days i work at a coffee shop and require the use of their wifi. i'm running snow leopard and i find it stupidly cumbersome to constantly be turning off and on, first internet sharing and then my wifi. any ideas for a quick n dirty applescript solution? thanks a bajillion! I googled around a little and saw something where it said it might only be available on linux/unix machines but I find that hard to believe.

  • C: cross-platform RS232 serial library?

    Hi folks, I am looking for an open source cross-platform library for working with the serial port in C, something along the lines of the awesome pyserial library (Unfortunately I have to use C for this application) I have only found this one: http://www.teuniz.net/RS-232/ and that doesn't seem to have mention OSX compatibility. Any recommendations/comments would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

  • Sqlite3 error after Rails 3 (beta 4) install

    After Installing Rails 3, I get the following error regarding Sqlite3 when I try to do a migrate: dlsym(0x1037e5f10, Init_sqlite3_native): symbol not found - /Library/Ruby/Gems/1.8/gems/sqlite3-ruby-1.3.0/lib/sqlite3/sqlite3_native.bundle I am using Snow Leopard, if that makes a difference.
