  • How can a not null constraint be dropped?

    - by Tomislav Nakic-Alfirevic
Let's say there's a table created as follows: create table testTable ( colA int not null ) How would you drop the not null constraint? I'm looking for something along the lines of ALTER TABLE testTable ALTER COLUMN colA DROP NOT NULL; which is what it would look like if I used PostgreSQL. To my amazement, as far as I've been able to find, the MySQL docs, Google and yes, even Stackoverflow (in spite of dozens or hundreds of NULL-related questions) don't seem to lead towards a single simple SQL statement which will do the job.

Somewhere else in my code, a security check is applied which mean I need to disable said event, but I do not have access to the normal -= syntax to remove it. How else can I remove or disable this event? Thanks, Dave

  • git push current branch

    - by Nocturne
I use the following command to push to my remote branch: git push origin sandbox If I say git push origin Does that push changes in my other branches too, or does it only update my current branch? (I have three branches: master, production and sandbox). (The git push documentation is not very clear about this, so I'd like to clarify this for good) What branches/remotes do the following git push commands exactly update? git push git push origin ("origin" above is a remote) (I understand that "git push [remote] [branch]" will push only that branch to the remote)

  • XCode code generation

    - by Ali Shafai
I was wondering if there is a tool (automator script or a third party) to generate code for simple scenarios like add another property. I don't like going to two or three places and write the same thing over and over again. instead I want to say "I want a new property of type int with name X" and it generates the lines in .h and .m files for me in one go.

  • What is missing from the Java API?

    - by Jack
I started using Java years ago and I've always found almost everything I need inside the standard API provided with JDK SE, with the exception of specific things that don't fit well inside a generic API, like GUI elements (graphs or so on) or advanced mathematical API.. So I was wondering: Which are the most important things that the Java API is missing? When I say "important", I mean either things that you have often needed, but have had to rely on custom libraries, or things that are usually are included in APIs, but not in Java's.

Is it possible to display a static line across a chart which appears at a given point on the Y Axis? So say I have a chart which measures test scores, ranges which 0 to 100 which 70% being the pass mark and therefore displaying a straight line across the chart at this point? Would I have to add a new series or is there a property for such a function? Thanks, Damien

  • Examples of IOC/DI over Singleton

    - by Amitd
Hi, Just started learning/reading about DI and IOC frameworks. Also I read many articles on SO and internet that say that one should prefer DI/IOC over singleton. Can anyone give/link examples of exactly how DI/IOC eliminates/solves the various issues regarding the Singleton pattern? (hopefully code and explanation for better understanding) Also given a system has already implemented Singleton pattern, how to refactor/implement DI/IOC for the same? (any examples for the same?) (Language/Framework no bars..C# would be helpful) Thanks

Coz, i read that informatica will neglect the NULL rows when joining..if i handle the null, by substituting -1, a cross-join will happen which i don't want.. what can i do here? I cannot completely neglect the rows which has NULL. Thanks

  • Benchmarking a particular method in Objective-C

    - by Jasconius
I have a critical method in an Objective-C application that I need to optimize as much as possible. I first need to take some easy benchmarks on this one single method so I can compare my progress as I optimize. What is the easiest way to track the execution time of a given method in, say, milliseconds, and print that to console.
