  • Komodo Double Indentation with Tab

    - by T. Stone
In Komodo Edit, if I name the file *.django.html it gives me django syntax highlighting BUT it also indents with a tab character (8 spaces) instead of giving me the usual 4 space indent. How can I fix this? I've tried changing the value in Edit Preferences Editor Indentation Language Settings, but that seems to have no effect on it. The indentation works as normal (4 spaces) if I'm using any other extension (.py, .html, etc.). Ideas?

  • "Select NOT IN" clause in Linq to Entities

    - by lnetanel
Hi, Is there a way to use the "NOT IN (select XXX...)" clause in Linq to Entities? All the questions I found were regarding a list of objects (IN (1,2,3)) but I want to generate a query with the following syntax: "select * from table1 where field1 not in(select subfield from subtable)" Be aware that this is Linq to Entities and not Linq to Sql... Is it possible? Thanks!

  • How would I create a random number?

    - by Elliot Bonneville
How would I create a random number using C++? I've heard that one should use the time as a seed, but I'm not sure how to do that with the correct syntax. How would I do this? One more thing - how would I limit the random number to a particular range? I'm simulating a dice roll and getting numbers in the millions...

  • Strange groovy behavior when dealing with threads

    - by Misha Koshelev
Dear All: I have an interesting dilemma. If I define my class as: class Browser { def swtException protected Object evaluate(script) throws SWTException { swtException=null display.syncExec() { try { result=swtBrowser.evaluate(script) } catch (SWTException swtException) { Browser.swtException=swtException } } } I get this rather interesting error: Exception in thread "Thread-5" org.eclipse.swt.SWTException: Failed to execute runnable (groovy.lang.MissingPropertyException: No such property: swtException for class : com.mksoft.fbautomate.browser.Browser Possible solutions: swtException) Any ideas??? Thank you! Misha

  • defining class relationships in c# and visual studio 2010

    - by andy
Hey guys, in Visual Studio 2010 I can point to a bunch of classes and create a diagram. However, the diagram by default doesn't recognize any relationships between the classes, except inheritance and implementations. Is there a way, ideally by using Attributes, to define class and property relationships and associations in such a way that it is picked up by a new Class Diagram automatically? cheers!

  • Get sum of two columns in one LINQ query

    - by Axarydax
Hi, let's say that I have a table called Items (ID int, Done int, Total int) I can do it by two queries: int total = m.Items.Sum(p=>p.Total) int done = m.Items.Sum(p=>p.Done) But I'd like to do it in one query, something like this: var x = from p in m.Items select new { Sum(p.Total), Sum(p.Done)}; Surely there is a way to call aggregate functions from LINQ syntax...?

  • A feature rich JavaScript IDE environment?

    - by jdk
I'm currently using Visual Studio 2008 to edit .js files with, and it has decent support but I want more... I like the VS syntax highlighting and auto-indentation features but additionally would like advanced features like: contextual info and help, collapsible JavaScript blocks, implicit symbol understanding for searching, refactoring and that kind of thing; also warnings and errors for the js code. Suggestions?

  • PHP Doctrine: Custom nested set?

    - by ropstah
Is it possible to have nested set capabilities in this somewhat custom setup? Consider these 4 tables: Object: (oid, name) contains: [1, 'Licence'] and [2, 'Exemption'] Licence: (lid, name) Exemption: (eid, name) Cost: (oid, oid_ref, cost_oid, cost_oid_ref) For: P = Licence with lid [1] R = Exemption with eid [2] i can say "object P is a parent to object R" if the following Cost record exists: [oid: 2 oid_ref: 2 cost_oid: 1 cost_oid_ref: 1] I understand that this creates somesort of 'conditional foreign key' relation which I need to define in code. Is it possible to have the nested set loaded with these conditions?

  • wcf metadata service page url

    - by Neil B
I have a service with the metadata exposed. Trouble is when I browse to the wsdl the service page it has the machine name as below: MasterLibrary Service You have created a service. To test this service, you will need to create a client and use it to call the service. You can do this using the svcutil.exe tool from the command line with the following syntax: svcutil.exe http://mymachine/Master/Master.svc?wsdl How do I make it show it as: http://www.url.co.uk/Master/Master.svc?wsdl

  • Python try...except comma vs 'as' in except

    - by peter
What is the difference between ',' and 'as' in except statements, eg: try: pass except Exception, exception: pass and: try: pass except Exception as exception: pass Is the second syntax legal in 2.6? It works in CPython 2.6 on Windows but the 2.5 interpreter in cygwin complains that it is invalid. If they are both valid in 2.6 which should I use?

  • how to write unicode hello world in C on windows

    - by hatchetman82
im tyring to get this to work: #define UNICODE #define _UNICODE #include <wchar.h> int main() { wprintf(L"Hello World!\n"); wprintf(L"£?, ?, ?!\n"); return 0; } using visual studio 2008 express (on windows xp, if it matters). when i run this from the command prompt (started as cmd /u which is supposed to enable unicode ?) i get this: C:\dev\unicodevs\unicodevs\Debugunicodevs.exe Hello World! -ú8 C:\dev\unicodevs\unicodevs\Debug which i suppose was to be expected given that the terminal does not have the font to render those. but what gets me is that even if i try this: C:\dev\unicodevs\unicodevs\Debugcmd /u /c "unicodevs.exe output.txt" the file produced (even though its UTF-8 encoded) looks like: Hello World! £ì the source file itself is defined as unicode (encoded in UTF-8 without BOM). the compiler output when building: 1------ Rebuild All started: Project: unicodevs, Configuration: Debug Win32 ------ 1Deleting intermediate and output files for project 'unicodevs', configuration 'Debug|Win32' 1Compiling... 1main.c 1.\main.c(1) : warning C4005: 'UNICODE' : macro redefinition 1 command-line arguments : see previous definition of 'UNICODE' 1.\main.c(2) : warning C4005: '_UNICODE' : macro redefinition 1 command-line arguments : see previous definition of '_UNICODE' 1Note: including file: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 9.0\VC\include\wchar.h 1Note: including file: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 9.0\VC\include\crtdefs.h 1Note: including file: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 9.0\VC\include\sal.h 1C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 9.0\VC\include\sal.h(108) : warning C4001: nonstandard extension 'single line comment' was used 1Note: including file: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 9.0\VC\include\crtassem.h 1Note: including file: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 9.0\VC\include\vadefs.h 1Note: including file: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 9.0\VC\include\swprintf.inl 1Note: including file: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 9.0\VC\include\wtime.inl 1Linking... 1Embedding manifest... 1Creating browse information file... 1Microsoft Browse Information Maintenance Utility Version 9.00.30729 1Copyright (C) Microsoft Corporation. • Multithreaded Haskell

    - by Ingdas
Hi I'm learning Haskell and I'd like to write some multithreaded programs now to see the performance gains from that in a functional language. I can find some references to it on the internet but never a proper introduction to it. Can anyone point me to a guide which is understandable for someone who knows the syntax fairly well, but is not a wizard in Haskell?

  • What's the different between these 2 mysql queries? one using left join

    - by Lyon
Hi, I see people using LEFT JOIN in their mysql queries to fetch data from two tables. But I normally do it without left join. Is there any differences besides the syntax, e.g. performance? Here's my normal query style: SELECT * FROM table1 as tbl1, table2 as tbl2 WHERE tbl1.id=tbl2.table_id as compared to SELECT * FROM table1 as tbl1 LEFT JOIN table2 as tbl2 on tbl1.id=tbl2.id Personally I prefer the first style...hmm..

  • possible to have a background color transition from color A to color B without repeating a pixel sti

    - by Andrew Heath
For things like menubars and headers, a background color is nice. But a background color that gracefully transitions from say Blue to White is even nicer. I know this can be done by making a 1-pixel wide, X-pixel tall image file containing the desired fade and repeating it across the div, but does CSS have native support to just define colors and be done with it? Can any other language handle this?

  • How do I make nested options for plugins in jQuery

    - by Oscar Godson
I know how to do plugins, but how do I do nested options like: var defaults = { spacing:10, shorten_to:50, from_start:0, from_end:2, classes: { test:'testing' } }; i know that isn't right, i just dont know how to write the proper syntax when I want to do something like this: $('#breadcrumbs').breadcrumbs({classes{test:'new_example'},spacing:12}) other suggestions are welcome, im in need of the ability to custom class names and there are 7, so rather than making something like test_class, example_class, etc id like it cleaner and neater like the example above.

  • Bash sourcing of functions in other languages

    - by ABach
This is, perhaps, a silly question, but it's something that I've wondered about: is it possible to, say, define a Ruby/Python/Perl/etc. function in some file and then source it in Bash (to make it available anywhere in the current shell)? At the moment, I "source" scripts/functions in other languages by creating a bash alias that executes that script... But I wonder if it's possible for Bash to interpret those other functions directly? Thanks. :)

  • Holiday Book Recommendation

    - by dalton
I'm after a book to read whilst on holiday. Some criteria: The book has to be relatively short. < 500 pages. I'd prefer a book that changes your thinking, rather than reams of syntax to look at. So the last two years here have been my books: Last year, The Craftsman by Richard Sennet (Changed how I viewed career development, quality) Year before, Zen and The art of motorcycle maintenance (Makes you think about quality, maintenance)
