Which name is more consistent with .NET naming standards for properties and methods?
1.
public string XRef { get; set; }
2.
public string Xref { get; set; }
I'm loading a UIViewController into one of my Nav controller's hierarchies, which will contain some text and some images. At the bottom, I will want to create a expandable and collapsable tableview.
First off, is this idea possible? If it is, how do I add it and where do I place the data source and delegate methods?
Can I just make a separate subclass of the TableViewController and then add it to my ViewController as a subview?
As someone who is interested in learning more about the security side of technology, I ask you all the following questions:
How is it that crackers crack software? What techniques are used to do so? I would imagine that the cracking methods depend upon the language the software is written in, right? Aside from using something like cloud-based security for SaaS ((software as a service) which isn't always an option), what choices does one have to prevent their software from being compromised?
I've seen developers use various methods to prevent spam on a basic html contact form
Method 1 is where the developer uses a Captcha image and Method 2 where only a Question is asked eg. Are you Human? with a radio button.
Which one is the better one to use and why?
I have two classes:
public abstract class AbstractFoobar { ... }
and
public class ConcreteFoobar extends AbstractFoobar { ... }
I have corresponding test classes for these two classes:
public class AbstractFoobarTest { ... }
and
public class ConcreteFoobarTest extends AbstractFoobarTest { ... }
When I run ConcreteFoobarTest (in JUnit), the annotated @Test methods in AbstractFoobarTest get run along with those declared directly on ConcreteFoobarTest because they are inherited.
Is there anyway to skip them?
I'm trying to get jQuery to play a sound on element hover/click. (It's like a flash website without flash)
I've tried the methods recommended in Cross-platform, cross-browser way to play sound from Javascript?, the jQuery Sound plugin and a couple of other tutorials without any success. I'm assuming this is because they haven't been updated since 2008.
Does anyone have any recommendations?
Hello,
I use code-generation for my data access layer and Doxygen for documentation. My problem is that I can't add Xml comments on the generated classes since they will be overwritten as soon as I re-generate the code. To be more precise I can add Xml comments to my custom methods (which are in a separate file as partial classes) but I can't do it on data properties.
Any suggestions?
Question on a on-line resource paper:
Create javascript so that the following methods produce the output listed next it.
circle = new Circle();
console.log(circle.get_area()); // 3.141592653589793
circle.set_radius(10);
console.log(circle.get_area()); // 314.1592653589793
console.log(circle); // the radius of my circle is 10 and it's area is 314.1592653589793
Can anyone understand what is being asked?
Hi
i am working on a web application where i have to encode and decode a string at the JavaScript side and ruby backend of the code. the only problem is that the escape methods for JavaScript and ruby have a small difference. in java script the " " is treated as "%20" but in ruby the " "(space) is encoded to "+".
any way to work around this? another ruby method to encode a string in RAW url encode?
thank you
Hi All,
I am trying to delete records in many to many using Doctrine. I used code on http://www.doctrine-project.org/documentation/manual/1_2/ru/working-with-models#many-to-many-relations:deleting-a-link
when I do the first method, it just deletes UserGroup record ONLY. How do I delete User, Group, and UserGroup records at once? The second and thrid methods do not work as well.
These web articles uses separate Save() and Update() methods in the repository pattern.
I am using repository pattern.
How can I write a SaveOrUpdate() method in Entity Framework with the help of ObjectContext and in Linq-To-SQL with the help of DataContext?
That is, how can I write a single method that shall do both save and update job?
how can i modify memory loaded methods in given assembly so that clr when instantiates new objects for some class it makes new objects with modified code in it?
How do I get the request object from inside the bootstrap file?
I can try this methods but not work.
$request= new Zend_Controller_Request_Http();
$reuqest = Zend_Controller_FrontController::getInstance()->getRequest();
In interview someone ask me @ Abstract class. I told him @ abstract class and i also told that we can not create object of this class. his next question is why? because it may or may not include abstract methods.
Hi ,
Am not worked on extream level of oops in my projects ,
So i have little doubts ,
In which situation should i use abstract method or classes ,
Basically i know about abstract class definition and flow,
I got details from this URL
Doubt is which situation should i use abstract class and methods ,
I woudl like to know how to use a System.Collections.Hashtable in F#. The reason it is a Hashtable is because I am referencing C# assemblies.
How would I call the following methods?
- Add
- Get value from key
I have not been able to find anything useful in google about this. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Using Memcache Java API (http://code.google.com/appengine/docs/java/memcache/overview.html)
The JCache is not fully implemented and the methods values(), keySet() as well as entrySet() throw java.lang.UnsupportedOperationException
Anybody know of a workaround or have a working example using a lower-level API?
MSDN says that you should use structs when you need lightweight objects. Are there any other scenarios when a struct is preferable over a class?
Edit:
Some people have forgotten that:
1. structs can have methods!
2. structs have no inheritance capabilites.
Another Edit:
I understand the technical differences, I just don't have a good feel for WHEN to use a struct.
So we have a GridView asp control and one of my coworkers doesn't like to use an DataSource to fill the GridView.
I wasn't sure if/what the pros and cons are of using one.
I don't mind using going through the wizard to set the type, and the select/update methods.
Besides using the wizard are there pros and cons?
We are currently discussing the Best Practice for placing the @Transactional annotations in our code.
Do you place the @Transactional in the DAO classes and/or their methods or is it better to annotate the Service classed which are calling using the DAO objects? Or does it make sense to annotate both "layers"?
Coming from a ruby background, I'm wishing NSString had some convenient methods like the following:
[@"John" contains:@"ohn"] => BOOL
[@"1,2,3,4," split:@","] => NSArray
Anyone know of such an NSString helper library?
Hi
If I have to choose between static method and creating an instance and use instance method, I will choose static methods always. but what is the detailed overhead of creating an instance?
for example I saw a DAL which can be done with static classes but they choose to make it instance now in the BLL at every single call they call something like.
new Customer().GetData();
how far this can be bad?
Thanks
Hello All!
Could someone please explain what the difference is between using the ISupportInitialize interface methods (BeginInit/EndInit) and using SuspendLayout/ResumeLayout?
Is ISupportInitialize ONLY used during construction/"initial" initialization... or can it be used later when you want to add new child controls to an existing parent control?
Any particular differences?
I greatly appreciate your help!
Thank you,
