I want to know what will be the difference and advantages using 32 and 64 bit. why does it really matter. What will it's benefit to Windows 7 users.
Thanks!
I have a copy of Windows 7 Professional that I have downloaded from the MSDN e-academy (thanks to my school). Now, the problem is that these license keys are one-use only.
If I need to reformat or do a factory reset, what is the best way for me to do so, without invalidating my license and screwing me out of an operating system?
I am using SuSE Linux (10) and I am considering expanding the available disk, without resizing an existing partition (which is not easy to do on a VM). Instead, I want to create another virtual disk, and add it in a new LVM volume, which would include the existing disk, and this new one, in a seamless single mount point.
We are using VMware vServer 4, under Lab Manager and Virtual Centre. Does SuSE support LVM in version 10 ?
Thanks :-)
Hi,
A bit of a silly question really - but I was wondering would it be possible to take a snapshot of a OS you are running on a computer, the convert it or so it can be run as a virtual machine in VMware or Vitual Box?
Thanks!
Hi,
Just a quick question. When using shared hosting, can system admins (employed by the host) access your files and read your database connectionstring details? Can they also access your database, and view the files, without a connectionstring? I'm assuming there's a certain level of trust, but is this possible/common?
Thanks
I have a wps file (Microsoft Works), but no Microsoft Works, and no Microsoft Office. Ultimately, I want to get a PDF but happy to convert to an intermediate format if I can. Preferably on OS X if possible, but would use a Windows solution if there is one.
Is there a converter tool I can use for this? Thanks.
I have port forwarded our front-facing IP to an internal HTTPS server. The browser does not connect. A wget command determines that the certificate is self-signed for the internal IP. Hence why the browser is refusing to display the page properly. What is the best-practice scenario for this sort of stuff?
Thanks
Hi,
Is there a way to set up the LAN connection to connect via proxy, instead of having to set the browser connection up? If the LAN is set up to go through proxy, then all applications - even non-browser ones, will go through the proxy, and that's what I'm trying to do.
Thanks! (MS Windows/Vista)
Hi All,
I've been tasked with comparing the monitoring capabilities in SCOM 2007 with the established SQL products such as Spotlight, SQLSentry, etc.
I'm pretty sure that SCOM can't do some of the more in-depth stuff that those products do, but can it be configured/programmed to alert on the most often encountered problems via VBScript and TSQL. Does anyone have an idea of what type of development effort would be needed for this? Thanks for any and all help.
Im trying to figure out if there is an easy way to identify the missing critical patches/packages on my RHEL5 boxes. This is for audit purposes and was trying to figure out if there was an RPM command or something of the sort that would accomplish this easily.
I know with my Solaris 10 boxes, i can run the "smpatch analyze" command which would display this information for me. Anyone know of anything similar for RHEL5?
Thanks.

Batch-convert files for encoding or line ending under Windows
Hey!
I have many files that are encoded in the ANSI (iso-8859-1) format and I want to change it to utf8.
I am converting one by one using notepad++ but I was wondering if there is any application that will convert them all (I have many files) in a quick and easy way.
Anyone know of one app that will do this?? (free app would be great)
Thanks
Hi, I have an apache 2 web server working with a tomcat 6 servlet container running on ununtu 9.1, integrated via mod_proxy.
I have the following time mismatch problem:
When apache log to its access-log
file, the date/time is correct.
When a grails app running on tomcat inserts date-related
information in the DB, the time is three
hours ahead
Any tips on how to fix tomcat's datetime problem ?
Thanks
/* Hide tooltips on toolbar bookmarks */
#btTooltip { display: none !important; }
I was using this CSS snipppet to suppress tooltips on bookmark toolbar items and it stopped working after FF 3.6
Is there a new CSS selector for this? I don't want to set config entry browser.chrome.toolbar_tips=false because that is too broad.
Help? Thanks
Is there something similar to Altiris (now Symatec) Software Virtualization Suite for Mac OS X?
Or just a possibility to "revert" all changes a app/installer made to the filesystem?
Thanks
I upgraded to Snow Leopard a bit ago. Recently, when I minimize files in any application the files disappear - no icon that I can find, showing how to bring to a dominant window any of the minimized files. I search, can't find, have to re-boot app., and lose data. Not good. When I minimize files, where do they go, how do I reopen them, and how can I change it so icons for all minimized files remain visible?
Thanks
I'm looking for a Linux gnome widget that can display data from a nearby Weather Undergound station. Does anybody know of something like that? I can program if needed. Thanks!

cases:

Exchange 2010 generate error on PreRestore call and write error to
Windows Application log -all ok ,
but for Exchange2007 PreRestore succeded and write error toWindows
Application log only
2)when restored database has been unmounted but has not been marked
for overwrite
Exchange 2007/2010 generate error to Windows Application log but

I'm about to buy an iTouch, mainly because of the iCal. I'm a Windows user, so does anyone know if these two play well together? I'd prefer to be able to update my calendar from either the computer or iTouch and sync.
I've searched Google, but I'm sceptic so far. Any experiences, knowledge you can send my way would be appreciated (and possibly save me money).
Thanks
Michael
Many phones has the functionality to listen to FM radio without connecting to the internet. Just wondering that how can I do this on a computer? Please give me some advices, thanks a lot.
Sorry guy I understand this question is not programming related. For a computer I mean a notebook which already has the wireless and Bluetooth, and these two combination shall be able for a notebook to perform this functionality.
