• MonoTouch - has anyone used this?

  Hi folks, I'm a .NET developer trying to make the leap into objective-c iPhone programming. I created my first app - just a simple portfolio with multiple xibs. I've just come across MonoTouch which lets you develop iPhone apps in C# or .NET. Has anyone tried this out? I'd be interested to know people opinions on it. Cheers, Jonesy

  Data.XX.NewValue := Data.XX.SavedValue; Data.XX.OldValue := Data.XX.SavedValue; I need to do the above a large number of times, where XX represents the value in the class. Pretending there were 3 items in the list: Tim, Bob, Steve. Is there any way to do the above for all three people without typing out the above code three times? (Data is a class containing a number of Objects, each type TList, which contain OldValue, NewValue and SavedValue)

• Version control: delete branches after merging?

  When you branch some code, finish working with the branch, and merge it back to the trunk, what do you do with the branch? Delete it from the repository? Keep it for reference? It seems like you would keep it for reference, but I imagine the /branches directory could get pretty cluttered. • Testing your code before releasing to QA

  I have heard developers say that people who write code should not be the ones testing it. I am looking for peoples experience in this situation. Many times I have done my share of development, then released to the QA dept and had the code sent back to me becuase some aspect of the application was broken due to my coding, regardless of how much I had tested it prior to QA release. Does anyone on this board have a process to follow, that enables them to throughly test their code before releasing to QA?

  I'm currently working on a project for Adobe Air (1.5.3) and I need to unzip a file, copy some of its contents to another file. Then I saw people talking about the Fzip (http://codeazur.com.br/lab/fzip) lib. The problem is that I don't know how to "import" or use this library with Javascript and Adobe Air, since Javascript doesn't have the import directive. How can I manage to do that ?

• Need to remotely create an ODBC connection to a SQl server.

  I have done a couple research jobs in Bio-informatics and I have used Matlab for them. Matlab had a lot of powerful tools and was easy to use. I did thinks with genome sequencing and predicting metabolic pathways.
