• Restoring web session in struts2

  Hi, I have a classical scenario of a website and payment gateway integration, where the request for payment is sent to payment processor, and the payment processor calls back my application once it's done with some parameters I passed to it in the original request. Among parameters, we pass jsessionid and we expect that when the remote server makes request to our server (via customer browser redirect to our server) that the session will be the same as the session used to send the initial payment request. This does not happen, we have two different sessions, although the payment processor includes our original jsessionid in the request to us (https://blabla/?jsessionid=something). How should we go about recreating a session in struts2, in the only thing that connects the 'OLD' and 'NEW' session is the jsessionid in the request URL? Any ideas? Is this possible at all or is the 'OLD' session data deleted when the user moves away from our server onto a completely different domain of a payment processor with their data-entry form? This would explain our innability to recreate the session. Thanks a lot for your replies.

  Hi, I've just started to play around with MVP in asp.net. One thing I quite cant figure out is how do I pass information, i.e. an integer variable from one view(webform) to another. Let's I have a customerlistView which is mapped to a customerlist.aspx page. From it I select a customer and it's record id. Say I want to display the customer's details in another view (i.e customerDetailView, customerdetail.aspx). How do I achieve that ? Does that mean customerlistView would call the presenter of the customerdetail and cause a page redirect ? Any ideas ? thanks

• PHP date function not accepting timezone change

  Hello, I've set up a quick little test to understand and debug timezones between mySQL and PHP. Here's the page: http://dev.feedingo.com/test_dates.php The dates are being created in mySQL using NOW() in a datetime field. The initial problem I was trying to figure out is what timezone mySQL is using and how to sync it up with PHP. But now there's an even weirder issue. In my test app, if you change your timezone, the first strtotime updates properly, but if you pass it into a date() function it doesn't change. This is how im setting the timezone based off the select box. $current_timezone = 'America/New_York'; if( isset( $_GET['timezone'] ) ) $current_timezone = $_GET['timezone']; date_default_timezone_set($current_timezone); Any ideas as to why the date() function isn't accepting the timezone changes? • MS Test : How do I enforce exception message with ExpectedException attribute

  I thought these two tests should behave identically, in fact I have written the test in my project using MS Test only to find out now that it does not respect the expected message in the same way that nunit does. nunit (fails): [Test, ExpectedException(typeof(System.FormatException), ExpectedMessage = "blah")] public void Validate() { int.Parse("dfd"); } ms test (passes): [TestMethod, ExpectedException(typeof(System.FormatException), "blah")] public void Validate() { int.Parse("dfd"); } No matter what message I give the ms test, it will pass. Is there any way to get the ms test to fail if the message is not right? Can I even create my own exception attribute? I would rather not have to write a try catch block for every test where this occurs.

  Scenario: I am parsing values from an XML file using C# and have the following method: private static string GetXMLNodeValue(XmlNode basenode, string strNodePath) { if (basenode.SelectSingleNode(strNodePath) != null) return (basenode.SelectSingleNode(strNodePath).InnerText); else return String.Empty; } To get a particular value from the XML file, I generally pass the root node and a path like "parentnode/item" I recently ran into an issue where two nodes at the same document level share the same name. Question: What is the best way to get the values for duplicate-named nodes distinctly? My thought was to load all values matching the node name into an array and then using the array index to refer to them. I'm not sure how to implement that, though. (I'm not well-versed in XML navigation.)

  I need to validate a text box where users are supposed to enter numeric values with 2 decimal places. I am validating the text in client side javascript. The validation will pass only if the number has precisely 2 decimal places, and there is at least 1 digit before the decimal point. (could be zero) the number before the decimal point can be 0, but can not be multiple zeroes. like 00 or 000 The number before the decimal point can not begin with more than 1 zero. Example of Passed validation: 0.01 0.12 111.23 1234.56 012345.67 123.00 0.00 Example of failed validation .12 1.1 0.0 00.00 1234. 1234.567 1234 00123.45 abcd.12 12a4.56 1234.5A I have tried with [0-9][.][0-9][0-9]$ But it is allowing alphabets before decimal point. like 12a4.56 Can anyone please fix the expression? thanks a lot in advance.

• Handling ID's with db4o and ASP.NET MVC2

  So, i'm looking at the TekPub sample for ASP.NET MVC2 (http://mvcstarter.codeplex.com/) using DB4o and there are a bunch of templates to create controllers etc, the generated code looks like: public ActionResult Details(int id) { var item = _session.Single<Account>(x=>x.ID == id); return View(item); } Now, my understanding is that using DB4o or a simliar object database that ID's are not required, so how/what exactly do I pass to enable this kind of templated code to function? UPDATE: Both answers were useful, I have modifed the templates to use GUID as the ID. I will add any relevant code/notes here once I see how it works out.

  Hi, I have an asp.net page with a WebMethod on it to pass JSON back to my javascript. Bellow is the web method: [WebMethod] public static string getData(Dictionary<string, string> d) { string response = "{ \"firstname\": \"John\", \"lastname\": \"Smith\" }"; return response; } When this is returned to the client it is formatted as follows: { \"d\": \"{ \"firstname\": \"John\", \"lastname\": \"Smith\" }\" } The problem is the double quotes wrapping everything under 'd'. Is there something I've missed in the web method or some other means of returning the data without the quotes? I don't really want to be stripping it out on the client everytime. Also I've seen other articles where this doesn't happen. Any help would be appreciated thanks.

I've dug up the fact that you need to pass "WT.srch=1" over in the url from the advert, but are there other parameters which you can use to segment: Campaign Adgroup Ad network I know you can do this with Google Analtics at the drop of a button using the various UTM tags, but Webtrends seems to use the proprietary WT. tags. • python: can't terminate a thread hung in socket.recvfrom() call

  Hello, everyone I cannot get a way to terminate a thread that is hung in a socket.recvfrom() call. For example, ctrl+c that should trigger KeyboardInterrupt exception can't be caught.   I cannot make system calls with spaces in the names and parameters. For example: system("c:\program files\something\example.exe c:\my files\example.txt"); I have tried escaping in every way I know how, and NOTHING works. I have tried: system("\"c:\program files\something\example.exe\" \"c:\my files\example.txt\""); and system("c:\program^ files\something\example.exe c:\my^ files\example.txt"); Neither work. I still get 'c:\program' is not a recongnised internal or external command This is really driving me mad... I need to call and pass parameters that have spaces in them. I cannot use the short notation for reasons I won't go into. I have tried with ' quotes instead of " quotes, still doesn't work. I have tried putting quotes around the whole thing and quotes around the spaces and that doesn't work. Does anyone know how to do it properly?

Also, I noticed one other thing. When I access localhost locally then I am asked to enter user/pass, but if I access remotely the I get the following warning: Under Construction The site you were trying to reach does not currently have a default page.   I'm developing an iOS app with Twitter features. To do that I'm using SA_OAuthTwitterEngine and MGTwitterEngine wrappers. I've followed this post. I'm trying to retweet a tweet from the followed user timeline. This is what I send/receive: 2012-04-12 18:34:00.291 Project[13605:207] INFO -> Twitter URL: https://api.twitter.com/1/statuses/retweet/190459190869753856.xml 2012-04-12 18:34:00.292 Project[13605:207] INFO -> retweet response: 0AFF2EF9-6BCC-4B1E-B65A-02BD24A38C18 Here I pass to the API the id field of the selected tweet which I want to retweet. But after execute the method, the retweeted doesn't appears in the user timeline, where I'm getting the user tweets and tweets retweeted by user. What I'm loosing here? According with this the request to the Twitter API is ok. And I've checked the app permissions setted in twitter and have all: read/write and direct messages. Thanks.

  Hi, all. I have a problem with uploading of the file in Silverlight application. Here is a code sample. In case when this file is opened in other application (excel or word for example) it fails to open it, otherwise it's working fine.
