hello
I want to explain why the specification must not changed during development period
to the new planning department employee.
is there any cool document doing this?
Say I got two functions that looks like this:
function main(Index)
{
doStuff();
}
function doStuff()
{
if(Index == 1)
{
document.write("Hello world!")
}
}
And some HTML:
<input type="button" value="Click me" onclick="main(1)" />
I realize this is a very stupid way to use function-specific variables and such, but it's just out of curiosity. So is it possible to pass the variable Index from the main function to the doStuff function?

Hello,
I'm trying to open a write-protected ms excel 2007 file using win32com in python -- I know the password. I can open it with user input of the password into the excel dialog box. I want to be able to open the file without any user interaction. I've tried the following, but it still pops up the dialog box.
app.Workbooks.Open("filename.xls", WriteResPassword="secret")
Any ideas what I'm doing wrong please?
Thanks,
Dave.
hello everyone!
I'm trying to find the best way to display images inside of UILabels (in fact, I wouldn't mind switching to something other than UILabel if it supports images with no hassle)
The scenario is:
I have a table view with hundreds of cells and UILabel being the main component of each cell
The text I assign to each cell contains sequences of characters that need to be parsed out and represented as an image
In simpler words, imagine a TableView of an instant messenger that parses replaces all ":)", ":(", ":D" etc with corresponding smiley images
Any input would be greatly appreciated!
Hello,
I am a ruby and rails newbie. And I am working on a rails application with RadRails. RadRails has a "Switch to Test" function for my controller, model, etc. but not for my library. if I have class Foo::Bar in /lib/foo/bar.rb, where should I put the unittest for it?
or should I separate the foo library in a separated project?
Thanks.

hello ,
how do you pass in a collection to an MVC 2 partial view?
I saw an example where they used the syntax;
<% Html.RenderPartial("QuestionPartial", question); %
this passes in only ONE question object..
what if i want to pass in several questions into the partial view and , say, i want to list them out...how would i pass in SEVERAL questions?
thanks

Hello everybody,
I know that P=NP has not been solved up to now, but can anybody tell me something about the following: What are currently the most promising mathematical / computer scientific methods that could be helpful to tackle this problem? Or are there even none such methods known to be potentially helpful up to now? Is there any (free) compendium on this topic where I can find all / most of the research done in this area?
Hello
How can I use the update() method on a single model which I retrieved via Queryset.get() ? It seems like model. Model doesn't have an update() method yet I cannot invoke .save() as I have a pre-save signals which messes things up.
EDIT: An idea would be passing some parameter to the save method and catching it at the pre_save signal, so that I can understand the purpose, how can this be done ?
Thanks

Hello All,
Is there a way to specify the ppn ( or equivalent ) in SGE ? i don't want to use all cpus in one node so i will be able to have more memory per core. ( In PBS you would do -l nodes=16:ppn=2 for exemple)
Thanks.
Hello,
I want a framework (or anything) that helps me make rich client guis. I know my server-side, but I don't like programming in ajax, javascript, css etc.
Something that wraps the ajax code in some objects/methods with clean syntax, would do the trick. I want to write code in java instead of defining css and html tags.
Does Java Spring, JSF, Django support this ?
Languages: Java, Python
Thank you
I may have string like,
"""Hello, %(name)s,
how are you today,
here is amount needed: %(partner_id.account_id.debit_amount)d
"""
what would be the best solution for such template may i need to combine regular expression and eval, input string may differ like $partner_id.account_id.debit_amount$ - for the moment I've kept as python string format - just for testing.

Hello all,
I was wondering if its possible to reference one android project from another android project. I have two projects, test1 and test2. I have added test2 in the project properties of test1 under the projects tab. Unfortunately it keeps throwing a NoClassDefFoundError. Also, would the second android project (test2) be installed as a separate apk on the phone or would it be part of the encapsulating android project (test1) ?
Thanks very much!
Hello there!
After my aunts death, I have inherited an iMac with several Adobe software on it (= Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.). Is ist possible to sell (or better to overwrite the licence) the software to other persons in the name of my aunt? Or whom does the software belong now?
Thanks in advice! :)
