    I have a table records(ID, ParentID) containg this data ID ParentID 1 null 2 1 3 2 3 4 4 5 6 null 7 6 If you draw this table in hierarchy as a family 1,2,3,4,5 will be related to each other. I want to find a way, where I can pass an ID like 3 it give me the others family members using SQL or using C# 3 - result 1,2,4,5 2 - result 1,3,4,5 6 - result 7 and so on I want to find my parent and his parents and childs and my child and his childs LIKE THE EXAMPLES

  • Can a storyboard access the UserControl that it resides in?

    I have a usercontrol, and I want a storyboard inside the user control to fade the user control out. Using Expression Blend, I can create the storyboard and cause it to fade the user control out, but when I run the silverlight application I get an error on FindControl stating that it can't find the control. I'm guessing the find control only searches the children of the parent, but does not look at the parent itself. Is there any way around this?

    Hello guys, I often find these three variants: SELECT COUNT(*) FROM Foo; SELECT COUNT(1) FROM Foo; SELECT COUNT(PrimaryKey) FROM Foo; As far as I can see, they all do the same thing, and I find myself using the three in my codebase. However, I don't like to do the same thing different ways. To which one should I stick? Is any one of them better than the two others?

My only issue is that I can't seem to find how to implement SAML in C# 2.0. I've been able to find a few examples for .Net 3.0 and 3.5, but none for 2.9 (and the classes they use don't appear to be available in 2.0). Does anyone know of any oline examples using SAML and C# 2.0?

I (obviously) can use the asp:FileUpload to get a file but I can't find anything to just get a directory path. Is there any (preferably simple) way to have a directory-chooser dialog in asp.net?   • How do I tell GWT to not compile a permutation for gears

    I have included gwt-html5-geolocation into my GWT project and was disappointed to find that it doubled up on my number of permutations compiled. Apparently if the browser does not support geolocation API then it falls back to use gears to find out your location. Is there a way to NOT compile a permutation for gears similar to the way you can tell GWT to only compile certain browser permutations? (the geolocation stuff is very much a nice-to-have and frankly if the client is running an old browser then I am happy not to get their location) Thanks

    In SQL, can we always write an inner join statement as a main query and subquery or vice versa if we only want to find the intersection? For example, select * from gifts g where g.giftID in (select giftID from sentGifts); can do a join and show the gifts sent in the sentGifts table, but it won't be able to show the sentTime because that is inside the subquery. But if all we care is to find the intersection, without caring what is being displayed, then we can always convert one to the other?

    In JBoss 4.2.3 the System property 'user.dir' is defined to be <JBoss-root>/bin when I ran the same application on JBoss 5.1 I noticed that it cannot find the System property user.dir why there is no default definition for version 5.1? and how can I define it manually? I followed this suggestion and added my property into properties-service.xml but it had no affect and still JBoss couldn't find the system:user.dir value.
