  • MYSQL if statement question...

    - by Dennis_M
    Is there any way to get the if statement to evaluate a query? SELECT if(50,'EQ_Type','*') FROM EQUIPMENT; Resulting in: +-----------------------+ | IF(50,'EQ_Type','*') | +-----------------------+ | EQ_Type | | EQ_Type | | EQ_Type | | EQ_Type | | EQ_Type | | EQ_Type | | EQ_Type | | EQ_Type | | EQ_Type | +-----------------------+ 9 rows in set (0.00 sec) I would like the above statement to be equivalent to the following: SELECT 'EQ_Type' FROM EQUIPMENT; And produce: +--------------+ | EQ_Type | +--------------+ | ENGINE | | ENGINE | | ENGINE | | TRAILER | | TRAILER | | TRAILER | | WATER TENDER | | WATER TENDER | | WATER TENDER | +--------------+ Thanks for any help

  • MySQL Insert Data Question

    - by Nano HE
Hi, assume I already created a table in MySQL as below CREATE TABLE IF NOT EXISTS `sales` ( `id` smallint(5) unsigned NOT NULL auto_increment, `client_id` smallint(5) unsigned NOT NULL, `order_time` timestamp NOT NULL default CURRENT_TIMESTAMP on update CURRENT_TIMESTAMP, `sub_total` decimal(8,2) NOT NULL, `shipping_cost` decimal(8,2) NOT NULL, `total_cost` decimal(8,2) NOT NULL, PRIMARY KEY (`id`) ) ENGINE=MyISAM DEFAULT CHARSET=latin1 AUTO_INCREMENT=9 ; -- -- Dumping data for table `sales` -- If I added a new field must_fill for the current table. `must_fill` tinyint(1) unsigned NOT NULL, User can insert less than the number of fiels items to the table defaultly, just as the script of below. INSERT INTO `sales` (`id`, `client_id`, `order_time`, `sub_total`, `shipping_cost`, `total_cost`) VALUES (8, 12312, '2007-12-19 01:30:45', 10.75, 3.00, 13.75); It's fine. But How can I configure the field (must_fill) to a MUST INCLUDE Data field when user plan to insert into new data. BTW, The code will be integrated in PHP script.

  • ANSI PADDING defaults question

    - by IanC
I have SQL Server 2008 SP2. I noticed that DBs by default have Properties | Options | Miscellaneous | ANSI Padding Enabled = FALSE. However, this BOL article warns against setting it to off (no reason given). Further, this article states this feature is going to be deprecated. I have two questions: What is the "problem" with having it off for current work (future deprecation aside)? Why is it defaulted to FALSE when BOL says the default is ON, and should this setting therefore be changed?

  • Newbie question on MvcContrib TestHelpers

    - by Simon Lomax
Hi, I'm just starting to use the TestHelpers in MvcContrib. I want to try and test an action method on my controller that itself tests if IsAjaxRequest() is true. I've used the same code that is shown in the TestHelper samples to set up the TestControllerBuilder _controller = new StarsController(); _builder = new TestControllerBuilder(); _builder.InitializeController(_controller); So that _controller has all the faked/mocked HttpContext inside it, which is really great. But what do I do now to force IsAjaxRequest() on the internally faked Request object to return true?

  • Question about pipe in Perl

    - by Uri
The following code is working sort of fine: open( PIPE, '-|', 'ant' ); for( <PIPE> ) { print; } However, it doesn't do what I want. Since the Ant build can take 5 minutes, I would like to see the output line by line. Instead, I'm getting the entire input at the end of the process. Looking at it with the Perl debugger, Perl waits at the 'for' statement, until Ant terminates. Why is that?

  • Question about Paperclip for Rails

    - by sev
I'm using Papeclip(2.3.1.1) with Rails(2.3.5). In my view I write so: <%= link_to image_tag(p.attachment.url(:small)), p.attachment.url(:original) %, and it becomes into href="/system/attachments/1/original/1.JPG?1270134617 (for a tag) src="/system/attachments/1/small/1.JPG?1270134617" (for img tag). And when I click on the picture, my browser (Firefox) offers me to save or open picture and I want to just open picture in browser without any dialogs. I think it's because link contains ?1270134617 after file's name. How can I fix it?

  • Django design question: extending User to make users that can't log in

    - by jobrahms
The site I'm working on involves teachers creating student objects. The teacher can choose to make it possible for a student to log into the site (to check calendars, etc) OR the teacher can choose to use the student object only for record keeping and not allow the student to log in. In the student creation form, if the teacher supplies a username and a password, it should create an object of the first kind - one that can log in, i.e. a regular User object. If the teacher does not supply a username/password, it should create the second type. The other requirement is that the teacher should be able to go in later and change a non-logging-in student to the other kind. What's the best way to design for this scenario? Subclass User and make username and password not required? What else would this affect?

  • Question about OOP and objects.

    - by loddn
I have a school assignment, a Dog Show. My assignment is to create a website where vistors can display results and Judges and Secretary can admin, crud. I have a small problem one part of the assignment. The result should be based on two protokols from different judges and after that checked by the secretary before the result is displayed for the user. I have to say i'm fairly new to programming and so i need some smart suggestions on how to design and implement this. The assignment should cover both a db and c# (.net mvc). Q1: How do i create a object (result)that depends on two other objects(protocol)? Is that even needed? Q2: How to solve this in a relational db?

Now those keywords are shown on every of my 600+ pages as base-keywords, and then I append page specific keywords after them. Is this right or wrong? So should i have this: tv,webtv, radio, watch, listen, live, cnn, international, stream or cnn, international, stream For live example see seetor.com Kind regards Mark

  • Question on ExtAudioFileRead and AudioBuffer for iPhone SDK

    - by backspacer
I'm developing an iPhone app that uses the Extended Audio File Services. I try to use ExtAudioFileRead to read the audio file, and store the data in an AudioBufferList structure. AudioBufferList is defined as: struct AudioBufferList { UInt32 mNumberBuffers; AudioBuffer mBuffers[1]; }; typedef struct AudioBufferList AudioBufferList; and AudioBuffer is defined as struct AudioBuffer { UInt32 mNumberChannels; UInt32 mDataByteSize; void* mData; }; typedef struct AudioBuffer AudioBuffer; I want to manipulate the mData but I wonder what does the void* mean. Why is it void*? How can I decide what data type is actually stored in mData?
