  • MSBuild - How to build a .NET solution file (in an XML task script) from pre-written command line commands

    - by Devtron
    Hello. I have been studying MSBuild as I have the need to automate my development shop's builds. I was able to easily write a .BAT file that invokes the VS command prompt and passes my MSBuild commands to it. This works rather well and is kinda nifty. Here is the contents of my .BAT build file: call "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 10.0\VC\bin\amd64\vcvars64.bat" cd C:\Sandbox\Solution msbuild MyTopSecretApplication.sln /p:OutputPath=c:\TESTMSBUILDOUTPUT /p:Configuration=Release,Platform=x86 pause ^ This works well but I now have the need to use the MSBuild task for TeamCity CI. I have tried to write a few MSBuild scripts but I cannot get them to work the same. What is the equivalent build script to the command I am using in my .BAT file? Any ideas? I have tried using something like this, but no success (I know this is wrong): <?xml version="1.0"?> <project name="Hello Build World" default="run" basedir="."> <target name="build"> <mkdir dir="mybin" /> <echo>Made mybin directory!</echo> <csc target="exe" output="c:\TESTMSBUILDOUTPUT"> <sources> <include name="MyTopSecretApplication.sln"/> </sources> </csc> <echo>MyTopSecretApplication.exe was built!</echo> </target> <target name="clean"> <delete dir="mybin" failonerror="false"/> </target> <target name="run" depends="build"> <exec program="mybin\MyTopSecretApplication.exe"/> </target> What I simply need is an MSBuild XML build script that compiles a single solution for Release mode to a specified output directory. Any help?

  • C++ STL question related to insert iterators and sets

    - by rshepherd
    #include #include #include #include using namespace std; class MyContainer { public: string value; MyContainer& operator=(const string& s) { this->value = s; return *this; } }; int main() { list<string> strings; strings.push_back("0"); strings.push_back("1"); strings.push_back("2"); set<MyContainer> containers; copy(strings.begin(), strings.end(), inserter(containers, containers.end())); } The preceeding code does not compile. In typical STL style the error output is verbose and difficult to understand. The key part seems to be this... /usr/include/c++/4.4/bits/stl_algobase.h:313: error: no match for ‘operator=’ in ‘__result.std::insert_iterator::operator* [with _Container = std::set, std::allocator ]() = __first.std::_List_iterator::operator* [with _Tp = std::basic_string, std::allocator ]()’ ...which I interpet to mean that the assignment operator needed is not defined. I took a look at the source code for insert_iterator and noted that it has overloaded the assignment operator. The copy algorithm must uses the insert iterators overloaded assignment operator to do its work(?). I guess that because my input iterator is on a container of strings and my output iterator is on a container of MyContainers that the overloaded insert_iterator assignment operator can no longer work. This is my best guess, but I am probably wrong. So, why exactly does this not work and how can I accomplish what I am trying to do?

  • Format a timestamp into text

    - by user1257114
    I want to get the Modify date of a file and then format it into a human readable date. I am running a C program that gets information on when a particular file was last modified. My C Code contains a sytem cmd which contains a number of egreps, awks, seds separated by pipes. Using sed or awk or something similar, how can I convert 06 to June (This can be any month so an array or something is required) What I am trying to achieve is to end up with a string similar to: My C code contains: char string1[100] = ""; #define MAXCHAR 100 FILE *fp; char str[MAXCHAR], str2[MAXCHAR]; char* filename = "newfile"; /* stat: run 'stat' on the dtlName file to display status information. egrep: search for the pattern 'Modify' and print the lines containing it. awk: Get columns 2 & 3 sed: replace the . with a space, leaving 3 columns of output awk: only print cols 1 & 2 to newfile sed: replace '-' with ' ' in newfile awk: format output in newfile */ sprintf(string1, "/bin/stat %s \ | egrep Modify \ | /bin/awk '{print $2, $3}' \ | /bin/sed 's/\\./ /g' \ | /bin/awk '{print $1, $2}' \ | /bin/sed 's/-/ /g' \ | /bin/awk '{print $3,$2\", \"$1,\"at\",$4}' > newfile" , dtlName); system(string1); fp = fopen(filename, "r"); while (fgets(str, MAXCHAR, fp) != NULL) sprintf(str2,"%s", str); /* Write information to file */ DisplayReportFile (report); ReportEntry (report,L"Source file: %s, Created: %s\n\n",dtlName,str2);

  • In RoR, is there an easy way to prevent the view from outputting <p> tags?

    - by dt
    I'm new to Ruby and Rails and I have a simple controller that shows an item from the database in a default view. When it is displaying in HTML it is outputting <p> tags along with the text content. Is there a way to prevent this from happening? I suppose if there isn't, is there at least a way to set the default css class for the same output in a statement such as this: <% @Items.each do |i| %> <%= i.itemname %> <div class="menu_body"> <a href="#">Link-1</a> </div> <% end %> So the problem is with the <%= i.itemname %> part. Is there a way to stop it from wrapping it in its own <p> tags? Or set the css class for the output? Thanks!

  • Page Entirely Blank Despite Having Source Code! (TinyMCE, FireFox)

    - by Chris Cooper
    Alright guys, here's a tough one... In reference to this page. The page will seemingly randomly not display the output of server when using Firefox (version 3.5). I have not seen this problem occur in Safari or IE. The best way to have the problem occur is just reload the page about 10 times and it ought to have happened by then, and once it does - it'll continue on subsequent refreshes until you change the page. The problem is literally the browser not displaying the output (code). Viewing the source shows all the appropriate code yet the browser displays a blank white page. The web developer and firebug plugins don't show any errors that would indicate the problem. I have tested this on a separate system and OS and it occurs in Firefox on that system as well. The problem did not occur until after TinyMCE (A Rich Text Editor JavaScript library for textareas) was added to the project. TinyMCE works however, where it should. I know this is a confusing problem, but I am completely lost as to what could be causing this significant issue. Thanks in advance. EDIT: If it's any help... I've noticed that if I cause a css file error by changing a stylesheet source to something non-existant (xxx.css), the page will continuously display without a problem (besides whatever related css not showing due to the src change). I've also noticed that causing any simple javascript error with some bad code will cause the page to load properly continuously (besides of course javascript not running on the page). EDIT#2: Moving all <script> tags down at the tail of the <body> 'fixes' (well, hides) this error and the page shows normally. A band-aid.

  • PHP: Need a double check on an error in this small code

    - by Josh K
    I have this simple Select box that is suppose to store the selected value in a hidden input, which can then be used for POST (I am doing it this way to use data from disabled drop down menus) <body> <?php $Z = $_POST[hdn]; ?> <form id="form1" name="form1" method="post" action="test.php"> <select name="whatever" id="whatever" onchange="document.getElementById('hdn').value = this.value"> <option value="1">1Value</option> <option value="2">2Value</option> <option value="3">3Value</option> <option value="4">4Value</option> </select> <input type="hidden" name ='hdn' id="hdn" /> <input type="submit" id='submit' /> <?php echo "<p>".$Z."</p>"; ?> </form> </body> The echo call works for the last 3 options (2,3,4) but if I select the first one it doesnt output anything, and even if i change first one it still doesnt output anything. Can someone explain to me whats going on, I think it might be a syntax issue.

  • How to loop through an array return from the Query of Mysql

    - by Jerry
    This might be easy for you guys but i could't get it. I have a php class that query the database and return the query result. I assign the result to an array and wants to use it on my main.php script. I have tried to use echo $var[0] or echo $var[1] but the output are 'array' instead of my value. Anyone can help me about this issue? Thanks a lot! My php class <?php class teamQuery { function teamQuery(){ } function getAllTeam(){ $connection = mysql_connect(DB_SERVER,DB_USER,DB_PASS); if (!$connection) { die("Database connection failed: " . mysql_error()); } $db_select = mysql_select_db(DB_NAME,$connection); if (!$db_select) { die("Database selection failed: " . mysql_error()); } $teamQuery=mysql_query("SELECT * FROM team", $connection); if (!$teamQuery){ die("database has errors: ".mysql_error()); } $ret = array(); while($row=mysql_fetch_array($teamQuery)){ $ret[]=$row; } mysql_free_result($teamQuery); return $ret; } } ?> My php on the main.php $getTeam=new teamQuery(); $team=$getTeam->getAllTeam(); //echo $team[0] or team[1] output 'array' string! // while($team){ // do something } can't work either // How to loop through the values?? Thanks!

  • How to return a variable from a javascript function into html body.

    - by anthr
    Hi there, I am still new to javascript, and I am trying to get a function to return a variable using html & javascript. Basically the function should just return whichever radio button that the user clicks on, although at the moment I don't see anything being returned at all. The function is here: <script type="text/javascript"> function GetSelectedItem() { var chosen = "" len = document.f1.r1.length for (i = 0; i <len; i++) { if (document.f1.r1[i].checked) { chosen = document.f1.r1[i].value } } } return chosen </script> And then in the html section I have these radio buttons, and my attempt to get the variable "chosen" output to the screen. <form name = f1><Input type = radio Name = r1 Value = "ON" onClick=GetSelectedItem()>On <Input type = radio Name = r1 Value = "OFF" onClick =GetSelectedItem()>Off</form> <script type ="text/javascript">document.write(chosen)</script> At the moment nothing seems to be getting returned from the function (although if I output the variable 'chosen' inside the function then it is working correctly. Thanks in advance!

  • PHP: Adding arrays together

    - by Svish
    Could someone help me explain this? I have two snippets of code, one works as I expect, but the other does not. This works $a = array('a' => 1, 'b' => 2); $b = array('c' => 3); $c = $a + $b; print_r($c); // Output Array ( [a] => 1 [b] => 2 [c] => 3 ) This does not $a = array('a', 'b'); $b = array('c'); $c = $a + $b; print_r($c); // Output Array ( [a] => 1 [b] => 2 ) What is going on here?? Why doesn't the second version also add the two arrays together? What have I misunderstood? What should I be doing instead? Or is it a bug in PHP?

  • Regex to remove all but file name from links

    - by Moasely
    Hi, I am trying to write a regexp that removes file paths from links and images. href="path/path/file" to href="file" href="/file" to href="file" src="/path/file" to src="file" and so on... I thought that I had it working, but it messes up if there are two paths in the string it is working on. I think my expression is too greedy. It finds the very last file in the entire string. This is my code that shows the expression messing up on the test input: <script type="text/javascript" src="/javascripts/jquery.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function(){ var s = '<a href="one/keepthis"><img src="/one/two/keep.this"></a>'; var t = s.replace(/(src|href)=("|').*\/(.*)\2/gi,"$1=$2$3$2"); alert(t); }); </script> It gives the output: <a href="keep.this"></a> The correct output should be: <a href="keepthis"><img src="keep.this"></a> Thanks for any tips!

  • Code Golf: Connecting the dots

    - by ChristopheD
    Description: The input are multiple lines (terminated by a newline) which describe a 'field'. There are 'numbers' scattered across this field: the numbers always start at 1 they follow the ordering of the natural numbers: every 'next number' is incremented with 1 every number is surrounded by (at least) one whitespace on it's left and right Task: Draw lines between these numbers in their natural order (1 -> 2 -> 3 -> ...N) with the following characteristics: replace a number with a '+' character for horizontal lines: use '-' for vertical lines: use '|' going left and down or right and up: / going left and up or right and down: \ Important note: When drawing lines of type 4 and 5 you can assume that : (given points to connect with coordinates x1, y1 and x2, y2) distance(x1,x2) == distance(y1,y2). Have a look at the examples to see where you should 'attach' the lines. It is important to follow the order in which the dots are connected (newer lines can be drawn over older lines). Sample input 1 9 10 8 7 6 5 11 13 12 3 4 14 15 16 1 2 Sample output 1 /+ / | / | +/ +--+ | +\ | \ | \+ /+ | / | /+-------------+/ +---+ / | +--+ | + | +--------------------------+ Sample input 2 4 2 3 5 6 1 8 7 Sample output 2 /+ / | / | / | /+------------------+/ +--------+\ / \ +/ +--------------------------------------+ Winner: shortest solution (by code count). Input can be read via command line.

  • Usage of CRTP in a call chain

    - by fhw72
    In my widget library I'd like to implement some kind of call chain to initialize a user supplied VIEW class which might(!) be derived from another class which adds some additional functionality like this: #include <iostream> template<typename VIEW> struct App { VIEW view; void init() {view.initialize(); } }; template<typename DERIVED> struct SpecializedView { void initialize() { std::cout << "SpecializedView" << std::endl; static_cast<DERIVED*>(this)->initialize(); } }; struct UserView : SpecializedView<UserView> { void initialize() {std::cout << "UserView" << std::endl; } }; int _tmain(int argc, _TCHAR* argv[]) { // Cannot be altered to: App<SpecializedView<UserView> > app; App<UserView> app; app.init(); return 0; } Is it possible to achieve some kind of call chain (if the user supplied VIEW class is derived from "SpecializedView") such that the output will be: console output: SpecializedView UserView Of course it would be easy to instantiate variable app with the type derived from but this code is hidden in the library and should not be alterable. In other words: The library code should only get the user derived type as parameter.

    I keep getting this error: event_manager.rb:83:in': undefined method output_data' for #<EventManager:0x007fc5018320c0> (NoMethodError) I am following the exercise on this website: Here is my code (My error comes towards the end with DEF OUTPUT_DATA ...): # Dependencies require "csv" # Class Definition class EventManager INVALID_PHONE_NUMBER = "0000000000" INVALID_ZIPCODE = "00000" def initialize puts "EventManager Initialized." filename = "event_attendees.csv" @file = CSV.open(filename, {:headers => true, :header_converters => :symbol}) end def print_names @file.each do |line| puts line.inspect puts line[2] + " " + line[3] end end #printing home phone number method def print_numbers @file.each do |line| number = clean_number(line[:homephone]) puts number end end #cleaning numbers method def clean_number(number) cleaner= number.delete('.' + ')' + '(' + '-') if cleaner.length == 10 # Do Nothing elsif cleaner.length == 11 if cleaner.start_with?("1") cleaner = cleaner[1..-1] else cleaner = INVALID_PHONE_NUMBER end else cleaner = INVALID_PHONE_NUMBER end return cleaner end def clean_zipcode(original) if original.nil? zipcode = INVALID_ZIPCODE elsif original.length < 5 while original.length < 5 original = original.insert(0, "0") end else return original end return zipcode end def print_zipcodes @file.each do |line| zipcode = clean_zipcode(line[:zipcode]) puts zipcode end def output_data output = CSV.open("event_attendees_clean.csv", "w") @file.each do |line| output << line end end end end # Script manager = EventManager.new #manager.print_numbers #manager.print_zipcodes manager.output_data I've tried several things, checked all through the internet and I just can't figure it out myself. I will really appreciate any help. Thank you in advance!

  • Python2.7: How can I speed up this bit of code (loop/lists/tuple optimization)?

    - by user89
    I repeat the following idiom again and again. I read from a large file (sometimes, up to 1.2 million records!) and store the output into an SQLite databse. Putting stuff into the SQLite DB seems to be fairly fast. def readerFunction(recordSize, recordFormat, connection, outputDirectory, outputFile, numObjects): insertString = "insert into NODE_DISP_INFO(node, analysis, timeStep, H1_translation, H2_translation, V_translation, H1_rotation, H2_rotation, V_rotation) values (?, ?, ?, ?, ?, ?, ?, ?, ?)" analysisNumber = int(outputPath[-3:]) outputFileObject = open(os.path.join(outputDirectory, outputFile), "rb") outputFileObject, numberOfRecordsInFileObject = determineNumberOfRecordsInFileObjectGivenRecordSize(recordSize, outputFileObject) numberOfRecordsPerObject = (numberOfRecordsInFileObject//numberOfObjects) loop1StartTime = time.time() for i in range(numberOfRecordsPerObject ): processedRecords = [] loop2StartTime = time.time() for j in range(numberOfObjects): fout = outputFileObject .read(recordSize) processedRecords.append(tuple([j+1, analysisNumber, i] + [x for x in list(struct.unpack(recordFormat, fout))])) loop2EndTime = time.time() print "Time taken to finish loop2: {}".format(loop2EndTime-loop2StartTime) dbInsertStartTime = time.time() connection.executemany(insertString, processedRecords) dbInsertEndTime = time.time() loop1EndTime = time.time() print "Time taken to finish loop1: {}".format(loop1EndTime-loop1StartTime) outputFileObject.close() print "Finished reading output file for analysis {}...".format(analysisNumber) When I run the code, it seems that "loop 2" and "inserting into the database" is where most execution time is spent. Average "loop 2" time is 0.003s, but it is run up to 50,000 times, in some analyses. The time spent putting stuff into the database is about the same: 0.004s. Currently, I am inserting into the database every time after loop2 finishes so that I don't have to deal with running out RAM. What could I do to speed up "loop 2"?

  • Translate an IQueryable instance to LINQ syntax in a string

    - by James Dunne
    I would like to find out if anyone has existing work surrounding formatting an IQueryable instance back into a LINQ C# syntax inside a string. It'd be a nice-to-have feature for an internal LINQ-to-SQL auditing framework I'm building. Once my framework gets the IQueryable instance from a data repository method, I'd like to output something like: This LINQ query: from ce in db.EiClassEnrollment join c in db.EiCourse on ce.CourseID equals c.CourseID join cl in db.EiClass on ce.ClassID equals cl.ClassID join t in db.EiTerm on ce.TermID equals t.TermID join st in db.EiStaff on cl.Instructor equals st.StaffID where (ce.StudentID == studentID) && (ce.TermID == termID) && (cl.Campus == campusID) select new { ce, cl, t, c, st }; Generates the following LINQ-to-SQL query: DECLARE @p0 int; DECLARE @p1 int; DECLARE @p2 int; SET @p0 = 777; SET @p1 = 778; SET @p2 = 779; SELECT [t0].[ClassEnrollmentID], ..., [t4].[Name] FROM [dbo].[ei_ClassEnrollment] AS [t0] INNER JOIN [dbo].[ei_Course] AS [t1] ON [t0].[CourseID] = [t1].[CourseID] INNER JOIN [dbo].[ei_Class] AS [t2] ON [t0].[ClassID] = [t2].[ClassID] INNER JOIN [dbo].[ei_Term] AS [t3] ON [t0].[TermID] = [t3].[TermID] INNER JOIN [dbo].[ei_Staff] AS [t4] ON [t2].[Instructor] = [t4].[StaffID] WHERE ([t0].[StudentID] = @p0) AND ([t0].[TermID] = @p1) AND ([t2].[Campus] = @p2) I already have the SQL output working as you can see. I just need to find a way to get the IQueryable to translate into a string representing its original LINQ syntax (with an acceptable translation loss). I'm not afraid of writing it myself, but I'd like to see if anyone else has done this first.

  • Codeigniter xss_clean dilemma

    - by Henson
    I know this question has been asked over and over again, but I still haven't found the perfect answer for my liking, so here it goes again... I've been reading lots and lots polarizing comments about CI's xss_filter. Basically majority says that it's bad. Can someone elaborate how it's bad, or at least give 1 most probable scenario where it can be exploited? I've looked at the security class in CI 2.1 and I think it's pretty good as it doesn't allow malicious strings like document.cookie, document.write, etc. If the site has basically non-html presentation, is it safe to use global xss_filter (or if it's REALLY affecting performance that much, use it on per form post basis) before inserting to database ? I've been reading about pros and cons about whether to escape on input/output with majority says that we should escape on output only. But then again, why allow strings like <a href="javascript:stealCookie()">Click Me</a> to be saved in the database at all? The one thing I don't like is javascript: and such will be converted to [removed]. Can I extend the CI's security core $_never_allowed_str arrays so that the never allowed strings return empty rather than [removed]. The best reasonable wrongdoing example of this I've read is if a user has password of javascript:123 it will be cleaned into [removed]123 which means string like this document.write123 will also pass as the user's password. Then again, what is the odds of that to happen and even if it happens, I can't think of any real harm that can do to the site. Thanks

  • Dynamic SQL and Funtions

    - by Unlimited071
    Hi all, is there any way of accomplishing something like the following: CREATE FUNCTION GetQtyFromID ( @oricod varchar(15), @ccocod varchar(15), @ocmnum int, @oinnum int, @acmnum int, @acttip char(2), @unisim varchar(15) ) AS BEGIN DECLARE @Result decimal(18,8) DECLARE @SQLString nvarchar(max); DECLARE @ParmDefinition nvarchar(max); --I need to execute a query stored in a cell which returns the calculated qty. --i.e of AcuQry: select @cant = sum(smt) from table where oricod = @oricod and ... SELECT @SQLString = AcuQry FROM OinActUni WHERE (OriCod = @oricod) AND (ActTipCod = @acttip) AND (UniSim = @unisim) AND (AcuEst > 0) SET @ParmDefinition = N' @oricod varchar(15), @ccocod varchar(15), @ocmnum int, @oinnum int, @acmnum int, @cant decimal(18,8) output'; EXECUTE sp_executesql @SQLString, @ParmDefinition, @oricod = @oricod, @ccocod = @ccocod, @ocmnum = @ocmnum, @oinnum = @oinnum, @acmnum = @acmnum, @cant = @result OUTPUT; RETURN @Result END The problem with this approach is that it is prohibited to execute sp_excutesql in a function... What I need is to do something like: select id, getQtyFromID(id) as qty from table The main idea is to execute a query stored in a table cell, this is because the qty of something depends on it's unit. the unit can be days or it can be metric tons, so there is no relation between the units, therefore the need of a specific query for each unit.
