  • How to read large number of rows efficiently using Zend_Db?

    - by Alex N.
Is there a simple :) and efficient way or reading very large number of rows sequentially using Zend_Db? Basically I need to process entire table, row by row. Table is large, primary key sequence is not guaranteed(i.e. not an autoincrement, but is UNSIGNED INT). What's the best way to approach this? Environment: PHP 5.2, Zend Framework 1.10, MySQL 5.1

  • Make SQL query more efficient

    - by Webnet
I currently have this query which runs 2 of the exact same sub queries but pull different data. When I make the values comma separated it throws an SQL error saying the sub query can return only one value. Is there anything else I can do to avoid running multiple sub queries? SELECT product_id, ( SELECT COUNT(listing_id) FROM ebay_archive_product_listing_assoc WHERE product_id = product_master.product_id) as listing_count, sku, type_id, ( SELECT AVG(ebay_archive_listing.current_price), AVG(ebay_archive_listing.buy_it_now_price) FROM ebay_archive_listing WHERE id IN ( SELECT listing_id FROM ebay_archive_product_listing_assoc WHERE product_id = product_master.product_id ) AND ebay_archive_listing.start_time >= '.$startTimestamp.' AND ebay_archive_listing.start_time <= '.$endTimestamp.' AND ebay_archive_listing.current_price > 0 ) as average_bid_price, ( SELECT FROM ebay_archive_listing WHERE id IN ( SELECT listing_id FROM ebay_archive_product_listing_assoc WHERE product_id = product_master.product_id ) AND ebay_archive_listing.start_time >= '.$startTimestamp.' AND ebay_archive_listing.start_time <= '.$endTimestamp.' AND ebay_archive_listing.buy_it_now_price > 0 ) as average_buyout_price FROM product_master I'm aware of the syntax error... I'm selecting 2 seperate averages and am wondering if I can do it any simpler way.

  • Check mysql_query results if DELETE query worked?

    - by Camran
I have a DELETE query which deletes a record from a mysql db. is there any way to make sure if the delete was performed or not? I mean, for a query to FIND stuff you do $res=mysql_query($var); $nr=mysql_num_rows($res); and you get nr of rows returned. Is there any similiar method for deletion of records? Thanks

  • How to return result set based on other rows

    - by understack
I've 2 tables - packages and items. Items table contains all items belonging to the packages along with location information. Like this: Packages table id, name, type(enum{general, special}) 1, name1, general 2, name2, special Items table id, package_id, location 1, 1, America 2, 1, Africa 3, 1, Europe 4, 2, Europe Question: I want to find all 'special' packages belonging to a location and if no special package is found then it should return 'general' packages belonging to same location. So, for 'Europe' : package 2 should be returned since it is special package (Though package 1 also belongs to Europe but not required since its a general package) for 'America' : package 1 should be returned since there are no special packages

  • How can I limit the number of registrants to an event?

    - by user356900
I've set up a basic html/php submission form where people can register for our event, but need a way to replace the submission form webpage with one that reads something like "We have reached our registration limit" when we reach a certain number of submitted forms. Our database is MySQL (if that makes a difference) I've looked around on the web but people either say to count the entries by hand, or the ones that do have an automated system use CMS like drupal or joomla. Is it possible to setup an automated script that will do this?

    - by user295189

How do I see what values are coming in? I did echo and it shows ?xType as ?xType. No values. What does ? stand for in SQL?
