• Simulate network failure on Android

  I've noticed when I switch from wifi to 3g on my Android phone that HTTP connections get killed. I'd like to simulate this error in an emulator for testing. Changing network speeds doesn't work, nor does turning on airplane mode (I've tried this on a 1.5 and a 2.1 AVD). Any ideas? I'm currently doing this by running my conns through Fiddler and manually killing them, but it would be nice to use something built into the Android dev system. Thanks

  Hi, We are porting an MFC application to WPF, and will probably won't have time to port the entire application. The MFC app has many CDialog-based windows, and we are thinking of leaving some of these windows in MFC, and show them inside a WPF window, so we can control their modality from WPF. • Google App Engine - "java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: datastore transaction or write too big."

  When calling DatastoreService.delete(keys) with 400 keys, I'm get this exception: java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: datastore transaction or write too big. I thought the limit on batch deletes was 500 so I am well under the limit. Am I missing something here? Thanks, Keyur

• Where can I find FuzzyGK or other fuzzy clustering algorithms to use in Weka?

  I'm learning Weka and I'm trying to figure out how to do fuzzy clustering. I found an old site that listed 2 fuzzy clusterers (by Frank Weber & Robin Senge), but I could not add their .jar file to the existing .jar file to use the algorithms.   how do you run the cmdlet "get-mailbox" outside the current default scope of the current domain? When I run get-mailbox -OrganizationalUnit bob.com/bobsage I get an error message saying: Get-mailbox: The requested search root 'rmcv.com/rmcvanguard' is not in the current default scope 'ems-1.net'.   Hi, does anyone know how i can get the id of any element when the mouse is over ? I want to show a div (box) over the elements (tags) the mouse is over. I cannot modify the tags to include a mousover event. I want a global callback or something like that to have the id of the tag which is under the mouse pointer. Thanks !

  If i define a few gems in my config/environments/test.rb file like this: config.gem "rspec" config.gem "rspec-rails" config.gem "mocha" and then run 'rake gems:install RAILS_ENV=test' I get the following error: Missing these required gems: mocha Run rake gems:install to install the missing gems. however if I run rake gems:install like it says it will continue to recurse like this forever. How do I actually get the gems to install using rake (not gem install)? thanks!

• Throwing exception vs checking null, for a null argument

  What factors dictate throwing an exception if argument is null (eg if (a is null) throw new ArgumentNullException() ), as opposed to checking the argument if it is null beforehand. I don't see why the exception should be thrown rather than checking for null in the first place? What benefit is there in the throw exception approach? This is for C#/.NET Thanks

• SWI-Prolog tokenize_atom/2 replacement?

  What I need to do is to break atom to tokens. E. g.: tokenize_string('Hello, World!', L). would unify L=['Hello',',','World','!']. Exactly as tokenize_atom/2 do. But when I try to use tokenize_atom/2 with non-latin letters it fails. Is there any universal replacement or how I can write one? Thanks in advance.

  Hi all, If I where to have a Queue holding a collection of objects (Custom object,bool,bool,bool,bool) and the custom object holds three doubles itself. Can I use the .Take(IntegerValue) command to only take one of the doubles (for the specified take length) from the custom entity contained in the queue and cast it to a double array, possibly with the .ToArray<double> function?   I've read a lot about star-schema's, about fact/deminsion tables, select statements to quickly report data, however the matter of data entry into a star-schema seems aloof to me. How does one "theoretically" enter data into a star-schema db? while maintaining the fact table. Is a series of INSERT INTO statement within giant stored proc with 20 params my only option (and how to populate the fact table). Many thanks.
