  • XML Schema (XSD) to Rails ActiveRecord Mapping?

    I'm looking for a way to convert an XML Schema definition file into an ActiveRecord modeled database. Does anyone know of a tool that happens to do this? So far the best way I've found is to first load the XSD into an RDBMS like postgres or mysql and then have rails connect to do a rake db:schema:dump. This however, only leaves me with a database without rails Models. What would be the best way to import/load this xsd based database into rails?

    The default git diff behavior is to open each diff file in serial (wait for previous file to be closed before opening next file). I'm looking for a way to open all the files at once - in BeyondCompare for example this would open all the files in tabs within the same BC window. This would make it easier to review a complex set of changes; flick back and forwards between the diff files and ignore unimportant files.

    Hello, I am trying to take an AES HMAC of a file using the openssl command line program on Linux. I have been looking at the man pages but can't quite figure out how successfully make a HMAC. I can encrypt a file using the enc command with openssl however I can't seem to create a HMAC. The encryption looks like the following: openssl enc -aes-256-cbc -in plaintext -out ciphertext Any advice or tutorials would be wonderful

    I know it might be simple to write some polling JS that asks the Rails application if it has completed a background job. But I wonder if anyone has already packaged up this functionality as a plugin. Basically, I have a few delayed_jobs running, and am looking for a plugin that will poll the server for completion of a particular job, then activate a callback when it finds that the job is complete. I'm looking to do something functionally equivalent to this (assuming a View model): map.route '/:view_name', :controller => lambda { View.find_by_name(params[:view_name]).controller } Others have suggested dynamically rebuilding the routes, but this won't work for me as there may be thousands of Views that map to the same Controller

I've tried LibXL, but got this amazing error: "can't read more cells in trial version" So now I'm on the hunt for a free version :), unfortunately xlsLib isn't are enough along either to provide the ability to load existing .xls files.     I know that header_remove doesn't work in php versions < 5.3 and I use 5.2.1. I am looking for an alternative to header_remove to remove the X-Powered-By header. I tried using header("X-Powered-By: "); but it still generates a blank header. I tried using Header unset X-Powered-By in .htaccess, but for some reason it's not working. I am stuck here.
