  Hi. I have some kind of problem with jQuery selectors. Let's say i want to select $('#elementID') but the elementID is a variable. There is any other possiblity to do this other way than var variable = elementID; $('#'+variable) ? I mean without specifying the # anywhere else? Thanks!

• Set Android Gallery widget to show specific starting image

  Hi all, I have a task where the user can select an image from a GridView representing a photo album, and from this I start a new activity which displays a Gallery widget to show the images of the photo album. However, I can't seem to get the Gallery widget to show the contents of the photo album with a given image as the starting point. Ideally I would like a Gallery#setStartingImage(int position) or something similar. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Best, Dalmazio

• MYSQL query to return rows that are NOT in a set

  Hi, I have two tables: Contact (id,name) Link (id, contact_id, source_id) I have the following query which works that returns the contacts with the source_id of 8 in the Link table. SELECT name FROM `Contact` LEFT JOIN Link ON Link.contact_id = Contact.id WHERE Link.source_id=8; However I am a little stumped on how to return a list of all the contacts which are NOT associated with source_id of 8. A simple != will not work as contacts without any links are not returned. Thanks.

  I need to make the "WE8EBCDIC500" character set available in an Oracle XE installation (on my desktop) to import a mainframe-generated file. Running SELECT value FROM v$nls_valid_values WHERE parameter='CHARACTERSET' does not show this character set to be installed and I get KUP-03006: error initializing handle for character set WE8EBCDIC500 when attempting to use it. • Can I configure an SQL Server 2008 DB so that it will save all empty strings as NULLs?

  In my current project it would be convenient to exclude empty strings from the domain, so that is an empty string is met wherever, it is treated as NULL, for example if I UPDATE [table] SET [Something]='', SQL Server should treat it as SET [Something]=NULL, so that in next SELECT a NULL is returned as [Something] value. Should I use triggers or there is a better way?

  Hi, could you please help me find the reason of the mystery I've found? In the below code, I create a DataTable and filter it. When I use filter1, everything works as expected. When I use filter2, everything works as expected only if the SubsectionAmount variable is less than 10. As soon as I set SubsectionAmount=10, the dr2 array returns Nothing. I have directory structures as such: dir1000000/file.txt dir2000000_1/file.txt dir2000000_2/file.txt I need to select the file.txt from the path with the lexicographically greatest value, i.e. dir2000000_2/file.txt.
