    The main requirements are: open source solution on Linux support P2P VoIP calls support presence support multicast VoIP announcements (and maybe some way of setting up such a "conference") preferably serverless (maybe the network can get split and I'd need to keep the functionality for all clients that still see each other) I tried looking at telepathy, in particular telepathy-salut, but it seems to be quite a new technology, so it lacks clear/good documentation and/or working examples. I'm also evaluating SIP (e.g. SofiaSIP), but it's working only if connected to a server.

    The Microsoft.SqlServer.Management.Smo.SqlDataType enum has a value for the timestamp type but not rowversion. I'm looking for an updated version of the assembly or an alternate enum type that supports it. The existing enum has a value for Timestamp, but according to the rowversion documentation, timestamp is "deprecated and will be removed in a future version". I prefer to avoid using deprecated things :)

I know that I there's Firebug, which provides a console object and its own error console, but I was looking for a quick fix earlier on and couldn't find anything. I guess it might not be possible at all, to prevent malicious web pages from spamming the log?

    I am using this: byte[] buffer = new byte[10240]; As I understand this initialize the buffer array of 10kb filled with 0s. Whats the fastest way to fill this array (or initialize it) with junk data everytime? I need to use that array like 5000 times and fill it everytime with different junk data, thats why I am looking for a fast method to do it. The array size will also have to change everytime.

    Hey guys, was wondering how do i use the NSXML parser. so lets say given i have a simple xml file with elements like 1/1/1000 14:15:16 How could i use the NSXMLParser to parse the XML File(Its on locally btw, desktop), check through each element and store each of them in an array either to be displayed/used later?     Looking for quick, simple way in Java to change this string " hello there " to something that looks like this "hello there" where I replace all those multiple spaces with a single space, except I also want the one or more spaces at the beginning of string to be gone. Something like this gets me partly there String mytext = " hello there "; mytext = mytext.replaceAll("( )+", " "); but not quite.

Is it possible to make terms 'yellow' synonymous, so that if I'm looking at a list of 'yellow' stuff, I'm seeing content of both types (Node_Type_A, and Node_Type_B)?

    Why are joins bad or 'slow'. I know i heard this more then once. I found this quote The problem is joins are relatively slow, especially over very large data sets, and if they are slow your website is slow. It takes a long time to get all those separate bits of information off disk and put them all together again. source I always thought they were fast especially when looking up a PK. Why are they 'slow'?
