  • Highlight overlapping text in JQuery

    I've got this plain HTML: "Many things are in my room: a bed, a desk, and a computer." And these phrases: "things are" "are in my room" "room: a bed" In JQuery, is there some way to loop through the phrase list, and highlight the phrases as they appear in the text, and have the overlap delineated by color, or border, etc? I know there are simple highlighters but that won't do the trick. Maybe something with overlaying opacities? Thanks!

    I'm trying to have show a large image that the user can pan around (so scroll vertically & horizontally). But I can't get the image to scroll.   • Identifying and removing null characters in UNIX

    I have a text file containing unwanted null characters. When I try to view it in I see ^@ symbols, interleaved in normal text. How can I: a) Identify which lines in the file contains null characters? I have tried grepping for \0 and \x0, but this did not work. b) Remove the null characters? Running strings on the file cleaned it up, but I'm just wondering if this is the best way? Thanks

Here is my query: ( TYPE:"{com.company.customised.content.model}test" && (@\{com.company.customised.content.model\}testNo:111 && (@\{com.company.customised.content.model\}skill:or)) I have to search documents which are having property skill of value "or". The above query is not giving any results (I am getting failed to parse query). If I use the query up until testNo (ignoring skill), I am getting proper results: ( TYPE:"{com.company.customised.content.model}test" && (@\{com.company.customised.content.model\}testNo:111)) Can you please help me?     Hi All, I have configured my list so that users can only read and edit items they have created. I now need to configure this list so that a particular group of users can edit and read all items on this list. I know users with the 'Manage Lists' permission would be able to do this. My question is can this be configured to be even more granular to apply a permission that works like the 'Manage Lists' permission but only for a particular list, rather than all lists?     I'm using MATE on an Adobe Flex project for MVC. On one of our pages, we have a dialog window that is presented to the user that displays them information that comes from RPC. The pages where this dialog pops up is unrelated to the data being displayed so this is a separate model.     In Ruby on Rails I'm doing something like: Appointment.find( :first, :conditions => "staff_id = #{staff_id} AND datetimefield = #{datetime}") ... where datetimefield is of course, a datetime field. But, I only want rows where the date is equal to a given day, say 2/12/2011. I don't care about the time. What's an easy way to do this? Thanks!
